One of Austin’s biggest weekends of the year is getting even bigger. The 2026 Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix returns to Circuit of the Americas October 22–25, bringing four days of racing, concerts, food, entertainment and plenty happening off the track.

Whether someone knows every F1 driver by name or simply wants to experience the spectacle, this is one Austin weekend worth making plans around.

Four Days at COTA

For the first time, the F1 weekend kicks off on Thursday, October 22 with Grand PrixView, giving fans an extra day at the circuit before the traditional race weekend begins.

Thursday includes F1 ACADEMY on-track action, access to the F1 ACADEMY Paddock, an F1 Pit Lane Walk, fan experiences and more.

Then the racing continues Friday through Sunday, culminating in the United States Grand Prix on Sunday.

Three Nights of Live Music

The racing isn’t the only reason to stick around after the cars leave the track.

Maroon 5 takes over Friday night, Post Malone performs Saturday night and Alesso closes out the weekend Sunday night.

Basically, it is three nights of concerts wrapped into one of Austin’s biggest sporting events.

Make a Day of It

There is plenty to do around COTA between races, too. The campus will be filled with food and drinks, fan activations, entertainment and experiences throughout the weekend.

And this year, fans can add a little roller-coaster time to the itinerary. COTALAND, Austin’s first and only theme park, will be open during race weekend, with Unlimited 3-Day Ride Wristbands available as an add-on.

Race. Eat. Ride roller coasters. Watch a concert. Repeat.

Pick the Way to Experience It

Tickets range from reserved grandstand seating for fans who want a dedicated spot to premium hospitality options for those looking to make the weekend a little more luxe.

The newest premium option, The Guest House at Turn 20, offers panoramic views of Turns 17–20, the Main Straight, Starting Grid and toward Turn 1. The climate-controlled space includes all-inclusive food and beverages, a shaded rooftop viewing terrace, enhanced concert access and an Unlimited 3-Day COTALAND Ride Wristband.

Ready to Go?

The 2026 Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix takes over Circuit of the Americas October 22–25.

With four days of F1 experiences, three nights of major concerts, COTALAND, food, drinks and plenty to explore around the circuit, it is shaping up to be one very full Austin weekend.

Tickets are on sale now.

Looking for a fall activity that goes beyond pumpkin patches and football games? This year, a little trip to the 16th century might be in order.

The Texas Renaissance Festival returns this fall for its 52nd anniversary, transforming the village of New Market into a full-scale medieval kingdom where visitors can spend the day watching jousting matches, catching live performances, shopping from artisans, playing games, eating their way through more than 1,000 food options and, of course, embracing a little bit of fantasy.

The 2026 season runs October 10 through November 29, with eight themed weekends giving visitors plenty of reasons to plan a trip.

Pick a Weekend and Join the Fun

Each weekend brings its own theme and atmosphere, making the festival feel a little different every time.

The 2026 lineup includes Oktoberfest, 1001 Dreams, Pirate Adventure, All Hallow’s Eve, Heroes & Villains, Barbarian Invasion, Highland Fling and Celtic Christmas. Costumes are encouraged, but visitors don’t need to arrive in full Renaissance garb to enjoy the experience.

The tradition of themed weekends began in 2005 as a way to encourage guests to participate in the festival and make each weekend its own experience.

There’s Plenty to See—and Eat

With 21 stages throughout the festival grounds, entertainment is happening all day long. Jousting, magic, jugglers, acrobats and musical performances are just some of what visitors can encounter while wandering through the village.

Then there’s the food.

The festival offers more than 1,000 types of food, from classic faire favorites like turkey legs, steak on a stick and BBQ to Polish and Greek dishes. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available, so there’s something for just about everyone in the group.

And for those who want to take a little piece of the festival home, nearly 500 shops, artisan vendors, attractions, concession stands and bars fill New Market Village.

Make It a Fall Getaway

Located in Todd Mission, about an hour from Houston, the Texas Renaissance Festival makes for an easy weekend escape—and visitors can even stay overnight at the on-site Fields of New Market Campgrounds.

The campground spans more than 230 acres and hosted more than 70,000 campers during the 2024 season. It also offers some of the best views of the festival’s weekend fireworks.

For the festival’s 52nd anniversary, the theme is “Magic and Memories,” with an emphasis on bringing back the nostalgia and freedom of childhood while creating new memories with family and friends.

And honestly, that may be the best reason to go.

Whether it’s a family day trip, a weekend with friends or simply an excuse to do something completely different this fall, the Texas Renaissance Festival offers a chance to put the usual routine on pause and step into another world for a day.

The 2026 Texas Renaissance Festival runs October 10 through November 29.

If you or someone you know has been living with chronic pain, PTSD, neuropathy, or any number of other conditions, there’s a significant change in Texas law worth knowing about.

One of the biggest changes: physicians registered in the program can now prescribe medical cannabis vaporization devices, making legal inhalable medical cannabis available in Texas for the first time.

House Bill 46 took effect September 1, 2025, representing the most meaningful expansion of the Texas Compassionate Use Program in years. More than 150 conditions now qualify for medical cannabis—including chronic pain, which was one of the major additions—opening the program to Texans who may not have previously been eligible.

Austin-based Texas Original—which has operated the state’s first medical cannabis dispensary since 2018 and grows everything right here in Bastrop—carries a full line of vaporization options, including oil cartridges and rechargeable all-in-one devices. Their devices use inhale-activated, metered dosing technology that delivers approximately 3–5 mg THC per draw, designed to help patients follow their prescription accurately. The all-in-one lineup includes Texas-inspired strains like Hill Country Sunset, Padre Pineapple, and Marfa Lights—made with pure cannabis extract and botanically derived terpenes, no added flavors or dyes.

Getting started is straightforward. Patients can schedule a telemedicine appointment with a registered physician, and if approved, the prescription is entered directly into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas. Texas Original serves patients through 18 pickup locations across the state, plus delivery. New patients receive 20% off their first order, and veterans and first responders receive 20% off every purchase.
