The climb will honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Participants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories, symbolically completing the journey those firefighters began that morning. Each climber will carry the name of a fallen hero as a personal reminder of the life and service being honored.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, making this an especially meaningful opportunity to come together and demonstrate that we will never forget.
The event’s goal is to bring together 500 climbers. Fire companies, emergency service organizations, businesses, community groups and individual participants are encouraged to register and form teams. You do not need to be a firefighter to take part.
The stair climb is not a race. It is an opportunity to reflect, remember and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who climbed before us. Proceeds from NFFF Memorial Stair Climbs help support the programs and mission of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

The Chester County Fire Chiefs Association is proud to help promote Dance for Heroes, a one-of-a-kind charity dance experience benefiting the Chester County Hero Fund.
The event will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2027, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM at the Crowne Plaza King of Prussia, 260 West Mall Boulevard, King of Prussia.
Dance for Heroes will bring the ballroom and jazz communities together for a full day of instruction and inspiring performances, followed by an evening gala honoring the first responders who serve our communities.
Proceeds will support the Chester County Hero Fund and its mission of providing financial assistance to first responders and their families following a line-of-duty death, catastrophic injury or permanent disability.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at BELFOR Property Restoration, 410 Clover Mill Road, Exton, PA.
This unique event will bring together Fire Chiefs and Police Chiefs from across Chester County for a friendly competition unlike any other. For one evening, these public safety leaders will trade in their uniforms for aprons and step behind the bar, competing to earn the most tips and claim bragging rights as CVC’s top Chief Bartender.
Representing the fire service are Chiefs from East Brandywine, Good Will, Honey Brook, Lionville, Phoenixville, Valley Forge, West Grove, and Westwood. They will face off against police chiefs from Downingtown, Malvern, Oxford, Southern Chester County Regional, Uwchlan, West Caln, West Chester, and West Goshen.
While the competition will be fun, the mission behind the event is incredibly important.
The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County provides vital advocacy, counseling, education, and support services for survivors of crime and sexual violence throughout our community. Their work helps individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments while providing hope, healing, and critical resources.
The Chester County Fire Chiefs Association encourages fire service members, law enforcement partners, community leaders, local businesses, families, and residents to attend this event and support this important cause.

Chief Turner's extensive volunteer career – spanning more than half a century – earned him the respect and admiration of generations of chief officers, firefighters, municipal leaders, and members of the public alike.
His impact on the Chester County fire service was unmistakable, as demonstrated by the presence of more than four dozen current and former chief officers of the Chester County Fire Chiefs Association who gathered to honor his memory during visitation services.
Like many who have gone before him, we will continue to honor Chief Turner's sacrifice. His life was defined by selfless service, unwavering commitment, and dedication to others.
A widely recognized and respected leader in West Whiteland Township, Chief Turner was consistently among the department's top volunteer responders for more than half a century. He answered his final emergency call as the operator of Ladder 6 at approximately 3:00 p.m. on the day of his passing. Just hours later, he also attended the department's annual awards banquet ceremony held at the Whitford Country Club – never missing an opportunity to support the organization or its members.
Chief Turner joined the West Whiteland Fire Company in July 1969, beginning what would become a remarkable lifetime of dedication to the greater Exton community. Throughout his extensive volunteer career, Chief Turner served in nearly every operational and administrative capacity of the Fire Company.
In just his second year of membership, Chief Turner was selected to serve as Secretary of the organization — a role he held until being elected President of the Fire Company in January 1973. He would continue in that position through 1976.
In addition to his administrative duties, Chief Turner also progressed through the operational ranks – initially serving as Fire Lieutenant beginning in January 1973, 1st Captain in March 1974, and 2nd Assistant Chief in January 1976.
In 1978, Chief Turner was selected by his peers to serve as the fourth Fire Chief in the history of the organization. He remained Fire Chief through 1985. The following year, he was recognized as the Firefighter of the Year for his exemplary service.
For more than a decade, he also served as Deputy Fire Chief under then-Chiefs William Miller and David Jones from 1989 to 1999. He was again elected to the office of Fire Chief in 2000, holding the position through 2007. Never one to sit idle, he returned as President from 2009 to 2011 before once again serving as Fire Chief from 2012 to 2017.
His unwavering commitment to the organization earned him the W. Scott Smith Outstanding Contributor Award in both 2013 and 2016, and he was presented with the inaugural Turner Service Award in 2018 – an honor named in recognition of his extraordinary service to the Fire Company and community. At the time of his passing, he continued to serve on the Fire Company's Board of Directors.
In addition to his many fire service accolades, he also served the community as a West Whiteland Township Supervisor, Fire Marshal, and Emergency Management Coordinator.
Chief Turner will be fondly remembered for an unparalleled lifetime of sacrifice and service to the residents of West Whiteland Township. As we continue to grieve this unexpected loss, we ask that you keep the Turner family in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements are currently pending.

Heroes Night will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 4 PM to 9 PM at Old Stone Cider, located at 959 Chesterville Road in Lewisville, Pennsylvania.
Hosted by Old Stone Cider and generously supported by Ken Pitts of Advisors Mortgage Services, the event will recognize and thank first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, veterans, and active military members. Eligible attendees will receive a complimentary drink during the event.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the Chester County Hero Fund, which provides assistance and support to first responders and their families throughout Chester County.
The event will also feature live music by Mini Mojo and welcomes families and leashed pets.
