Comment on 75% of Those Who Have Sampled the New XFL Find it More Interesting or About the Same As NFL by Shad https://blogs.shu.edu/sportspoll/2020/02/28/75-of-those-who-have-sampled-the-new-xfl-find-it-more-interesting-or-about-the-same-nfl/#comment-743 Fri, 28 Feb 2020 23:21:44 +0000 http://blogs.shu.edu/sportspoll/?p=649#comment-743 The results of this 2 day poll are misleading at best. A 2 week poll listed on the most popular football sites would yield much more accurate results.

Of the around 30 or so people I know who actively watch NFL football. 100% of them are in favor of 17 game seasons. There is not one single person I know that watches football and is opposed to adding another game.

2 less preseason games, 1 extra bye and then have each team that made the playoffs be one of the teams that gets one less home game the next year. Would give players extra rest with bye, less chance of being injured in meaningless preseason games and balance teams that are continually making playoffs while helping teams that are always barely missing them.

The poll was sponsored by our own Stillman School of Business here at Seton Hall.

I will no longer purchase game tickets or hats or jerseys. The fans vote with their dollars the NFL wont be receiving any more of mine. My son and his family are doing the same. We both are dropping the NFL Ticket. Its been fun but I can find other things to do.

Defininive proof of brain damage in the NFL. I’m done.

Comment on With NFL and NHL Moving into Vegas, Nearly Half See Likelihood of Players, Refs, Officials Betting on Outcomes by tony https://blogs.shu.edu/sportspoll/2017/04/13/with-nfl-and-nhl-moving-into-vegas-nearly-half-see-likelihood-of-players-refs-officials-betting-on-outcomes/#comment-695 Fri, 18 Aug 2017 13:27:01 +0000 http://blogs.shu.edu/sportspoll/?p=407#comment-695 I do not see the difference in a team from any pro sport being in Las Vegas. Sports betting has gone on for years in Nevada whether a team exists or not. One does not have to live in Vegas to bet sports these days as access is readily available online. New Jersey has recently attempted to gain the ability to bet on pro sports. Times are changing and there will be a day when many states allow legal gambling on sports events. It is the nature of the beast.
