Twenty-five years ago, 21CC Group began with a simple ambition: to create exceptional live experiences.

What started in 2000 with £250 and a vision, has grown into one of the UK’s largest integrated event delivery groups. Today, our specialist teams help deliver everything from major sporting championships and festivals to corporate experiences, cultural programmes and public celebrations, working with some of the world’s leading brands and organisations.

As our business has evolved, so has our identity. Today, as part of this evolution, the Group’s original trading business will now operate as Twentyone Productions, while 21CC Group becomes the parent company brand, providing a clear group structure above its specialist trading businesses.

21CC Group is now the parent company that brings together the three specialist businesses under one shared vision: Rogue City Productions, Twentyone Productions and Funktioncreep. Each business within the group retains the expertise, culture and reputation that clients know and trust, while benefiting from the collective strength, investment and collaboration of the wider Group.

This new structure reflects how our clients already work with us. Increasingly, they need a partner who can combine creative thinking, technical production and operational delivery into one seamless experience. By bringing our specialist businesses together under a clear Group identity, we’re making it easier to understand the breadth of expertise available across our team.

Bold typography reflects confidence and clarity. A clean, contemporary palette creates space for creativity, while three distinctive colourways celebrate the unique character of each of our specialist brands, forming a connected visual ecosystem that represents both individuality and collaboration.

Rogue City Productions continues as our creative event management company, delivering ambitious experiences through strategic planning, creative production and flawless execution.

Twentyone Productions brings together the heritage of our original trading business under a new identity, providing world-class technical production across lighting, audio, video, staging, power, fireworks, special effects, flames and live event technology.

Funktioncreep remains our creative technology studio, designing immersive visual experiences through animation, projection mapping, lasers, holograms and digital storytelling.

While each business operates independently, together they form something greater: a production powerhouse capable of delivering every stage of the live event journey.

One Group. Endless possibilities.

March 2025 marked a major milestone for 21CC Group as we celebrated 25 years in business. But while anniversaries are often a time to reflect, for our team, they’re also a moment to look firmly ahead.

As the business continues to grow across live events, technical production and creative services, investment in people has become one of the company’s biggest priorities. We sat down with Kathryn, our Head of People & Culture, to talk about growth, recruitment, company culture and what makes this such an exciting time to join the business.

With exciting growth across the group, major investment in technology, and an expanding portfolio of projects and clients, recruitment has become a major focus for the business in 2026.

21CC Group recently hit a major milestone of 25 years in business. Why is recruitment such a major focus right now?

Hitting 25 years is an amazing milestone for the business. With that maturity comes ambition for growth, and we’re growing fast. Over the past year or so, we’ve done a lot of work putting a Senior Leadership Team in place, and we’re now setting the goals for the next stage of the business. We need great people in order to meet those goals.

What kinds of opportunities are currently available across the group?

We’re looking for people at lots of different levels from junior production technicians who are just starting their career in the industry, right through to a Head of Technical Production to work alongside the Technical Director. We’re building capability across the business so that we can continue supporting the amazing projects and clients we have coming up. We’re also looking for brilliant Technical Project Managers and Production Managers too.

For anyone interested in opportunities with us, keeping an eye on our social media and website is the best plan, we post vacancies there regularly.

How has the events and production industry changed over the last 25 years, and how has that shaped the people you’re looking for today?

The intricacy of events, the technological advancements and the speed of the industry have all accelerated massively over the past 25 years. That means we need a team who are technically excellent, but also adaptable and able to work at pace and of course, driven to deliver amazing events for our clients.

What qualities stand out most in candidates applying to join the business?

We’re looking for great technical knowledge, of course, but we’re also looking for switched-on, enthusiastic individuals who genuinely love the industry and are excited about 21CC. That energy and attitude really matter.

How important is attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced live events environment?

It’s vital. We need people who are can-do, who can use their initiative and adapt quickly in a live event situation. Things often change at the last minute, so we need a team who can respond to that, solve problems and make sure the event is the best it can be while still keeping smiling throughout.

What can new starters expect from the culture at 21CC Group?

The team here are fantastic. Everyone is driven to deliver excellent events and support each other while doing it. It’s hard work, but it’s also fun. New joiners can expect to work alongside a brilliant team with lots of support around them.

Why is investing in people so important to the long-term success of the business?

It almost goes without saying that we need great people so that we can do what we do best. But investing in people is more than just hiring the skills we need. We’re developing career paths within the business to give people the opportunity to train, grow and build the career they want with us. We’re also continuing to enhance our benefits package to support our team’s health and wellbeing too.

What makes this an exciting time to join the company?

There’s been massive investment in new technology over the past 18 months, and when you combine that with the team we’ve been building and the projects we’ve got coming up this year and next, we’ve got a lot to offer.

We’ve recently enhanced our benefits too, including life insurance and private medical cover. We’re also really focused on career progression – we want to help our people reach their career goals and create opportunities for growth within the business.

What do employees gain from working across such a varied group of businesses and projects?

I love that we’re able to offer our team the opportunity to work across such a diverse portfolio of clients and events. It means people are constantly building new skills and gaining experience across all kinds of projects, which keeps things exciting and gives real variety to the role.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in live events, production or creative services?

There’s no substitute for live, hands-on experience. If you’re new to the industry, getting work experience or an internship is a brilliant place to start because it lets you see the full picture of the events world.

We’re definitely not a 9 to 5, Monday-to-Friday industry and at some point, you probably will end up muddy and cold in a field at 2am de-rigging an event!

What’s one thing people are often surprised to learn about working at 21CC Group?

The sheer range and scope of the events we work on. It surprises me all the time – the scale and variety of the projects we deliver is fantastic, and it means there’s always something new happening.

What keeps people in the business long term?

This is probably a very HR answer, but honestly, it’s the people. We have a phenomenal team here and having great people around you to learn from and work alongside makes such a difference. We’re very values-led as a business and we want to bring everyone on the journey together.

What does a successful team member look like to you?

Someone who is technically excellent, loves to get stuck in, and brings enthusiasm and positivity to the team as well.

Why do you think people choose to build their careers here?

Because we genuinely care about our people, and we want to see everyone succeed. The management team are absolutely committed to making sure our team have the opportunities and support they need to grow their careers with us.

Whether you’re taking your first steps into the industry or looking for your next challenge in live events, production or creative services, there’s never been a more exciting time to join 21CC Group.

As we continue building the next chapter of the business, we’re always looking for passionate, driven people to grow with us. Explore our latest opportunities and find out more about careers at 21CC Group.

Royal Highland Centre and 21CC Group Announce Landmark 5-Year Partnership to Power Scotland’s Events Future.

The Royal Highland Centre and 21CC Group have announced a major new strategic partnership, marking a significant step forward in Scotland’s ambition to strengthen its position as a world-leading destination for events.

Commencing on Thursday 2 April, the five-year partnership brings together one of Scotland’s leading technical production groups with one of its most iconic event venues, creating a fully integrated, best-in-class offering for event organisers across the UK and internationally.

Under the partnership, 21CC Group becomes the Royal Highland Centre’s integrated, in-house event delivery partner, providing a seamless, end-to-end service for event organisers. This includes creative event design and overlay through Rogue City Productions, full technical production via 21CC Productions, and specialist visual and effects services delivered by Funktioncreep, spanning LED screens, lighting, sound, AV, SFX, staging, power, lasers, projection mapping and holographics.

The partnership is spearheaded by Geoff Crow, Managing Director of 21CC Group, and Mark Currie, Managing Director of the Royal Highland Centre, and reflects a shared commitment to collaboration, innovation and delivery at scale.

This move aligns with Scotland’s National Events Strategy – Scotland the Perfect Stage – which emphasises collaboration, capability and a ‘Team Scotland’ approach to delivering world-class events. By combining venue, creative and technical expertise into a single, cohesive delivery model, the partnership reduces complexity for organisers while unlocking new opportunities to attract major events to Scotland.

The news comes following the Royal Highland Centre recently appointing four new non-executive board directors to strengthen the commercial growth of the venue.

Mark Currie, Managing Director, Royal Highland Centre, said:

“The Royal Highland Centre has always been at the heart of Scotland’s events landscape, and this partnership strengthens our ability to support events of real scale and impact.

By aligning with 21CC Group and its specialist businesses, we are enhancing the capability, creativity and technical excellence available at the venue. Together, we are building a stronger, more integrated platform that will benefit event organisers, audiences and Scotland’s wider visitor economy.”

Geoff Crow, Company Director, 21CC Group, added:

“This is a bold step forward for Scotland’s events industry. By bringing together venue, design and technical delivery under one aligned partnership, we are creating a seamless, scalable offering that allows event organisers to deliver at a higher level, with greater efficiency and confidence.

Scotland already has the talent, infrastructure and ambition to be a global leader in events. This partnership is about unlocking that potential and working collaboratively to attract and deliver world-class experiences, and positioning Scotland firmly as the perfect stage for major events.”

The partnership reflects a growing recognition across the sector that collaboration, shared capability and integrated delivery are key to sustaining growth, attracting investment, and delivering high-quality, impactful events. It reinforces Scotland’s reputation as a globally competitive, innovative and trusted destination for major events.

21CC Group is proud to announce the acquisition of Edinburgh based Rogue City Productions, one of Scotland’s leading creative production houses. This strategic move brings together two powerhouse teams with a shared vision for innovation, impact, and world-class event experiences.

The acquisition comes at a landmark moment for 21CC, as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025. Originally founded in 2000, 21CC has consistently been at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, setting new standards and redefining innovation in the event industry, and today has evolved into a full turn key offering to clients, from event management, creative design, on site operations, to technical delivery, lighting, sound as well as lasers, projections, holograms and professional firework displays.

“Rogue City Productions is a natural fit for 21CC,” said Geoff Crow, Managing Director of 21CC Group. “They’ve built an incredible reputation for bold creativity and flawless delivery. This partnership is about combining our strengths to push boundaries and raise the bar across the UK events industry.”

Founded in 2015 by Shane Grieve, Rogue City Productions quickly emerged as Scotland’s most successful creative production house, known for producing immersive, high-impact experiences for major brands including Terminal V, the Royal Highland Show, Manchester Pride and Parklife to audiences nationwide.

“By joining forces with the 21CC Group, Rogue City gains the backing, infrastructure, and collaborative power required to push the business to the next level,” said Grieve. “This will allow our team to scale our creativity, expand our capabilities, and deliver even more unforgettable experiences for clients across the country.”

The move reflects 21CC’s long-term growth strategy, investing in people, partnerships, and creative innovation to stay at the forefront of the live events landscape.

“Small companies thrive on innovation, agility, and passion,” added Crow. “By bringing Rogue City into the 21CC family, we’re combining those entrepreneurial strengths with the reach, resources, and support of a larger group—setting ourselves up for even greater creative freedom and long-term success.”

As the two teams come together, both remain committed to the values that have defined their work: excellence, imagination, and audience impact.

“This partnership isn’t just a milestone,” said Grieve. “It’s a launchpad. Both Rogue City and 21CC share the same ambition—to deliver the most ambitious, high-impact productions in the industry. Together, we’re ready to take that to the next level.”

Back in January, Matthew, our Display Manager embarked on an illuminating journey to Liuyang, Changsha and Hunan in China.

Taking place between the 1st and 9th of January, this trip was planned to delve into the intricacies of the fireworks industry, with a keen focus on enhancing our operational strategies and fostering stronger relationships with our long-standing suppliers.

Throughout his expedition, Matthew explored various factory operations, immersing himself in the dynamic processes that bring our products to life. This hands-on approach provided invaluable insights into the craftsmanship and innovation driving the industry forward.

Joining our suppliers Celtic Fireworks, along with other industry names such as Kimbolton, Matthew gained key insights into the production and design of fireworks, identified key products for synergy and growth, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.

Among the many discoveries made during his journey, one product stood out as Matthew’s favourite: the CC0350, which can be seen below…

With its unique features and performance capabilities, the CC0350 embodies the spirit of innovation that defines 21CC Group.

Matthew embraced the cultural richness of Liuyang, immersing himself in the vibrant local cuisine and forging genuine connections with the community. And amidst the bustling business activities, Matthew even managed to find time to participate in the inaugural international fireworks badminton tournament!

As Matthew returns with a wealth of insights and experiences, we are ready to illuminate the skies and inspire awe with every display, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of fireworks.

VE-Day Beacons by 21CC Group Ltd

Join the UK in commemorating 80 years since VE Day.  On the 8th May 2025, various VE Day events will mark 80 years since one of the most significant moments in history. 21CC Group have designed a special VE Day Beacon to enable groups and individuals to take part in this historic occasion.

Beacon Design

The VE Day Beacon will come ready for easy assembly, designed with an elegant crown and two special plaques. The beacon will burn for approximately 1 hour using 2no. 13kg standard propane gas cylinders, which are available from most gas stockists and petrol stations around the UK. The gas assembly is easily connected to the burner by a quick release fitting. The beacon is inherently stable: however, we recommend the use of anchors on soft ground or sandbags on hard ground for additional stability.

Full set-up instructions are included within the pack and we recommend a trial set-up and lighting before the actual event to familiarise yourself with the set up and operation. We have included two long reach lighting sticks so that you can practice lighting the beacon in advance. We would also recommend that a fire extinguisher is available when lighting the beacon and whilst it is burning, and that two people are always present.

The Package Contents & Instructions:

  • Assembly, lighting and safety instructions
  • 2m high stand and burner
  • 10m hose with the regulator for connecting to the gas
  • Two long reach lighting sticks
  • Spanner
  • Hose and Y splitter manifold to link 2 cylinders
  • No additional connections required – all you need is in the box

Beacon Price:

The price of our beacon is £549 + VAT, including carriage within the UK mainland. An additional fee may be applied for other areas (i.e. highlands, islands or NI, please phone for details and costs).

Ordering & Payment

To order a VE Day beacon , please contact 21CC Group Ltd by phone; 0131 331 4509 or email our beacon team on beacons@21ccgroup.com.

Payment can be made in all the usual ways including BACS, cheque and credit/debit card. Orders received before 8th April 2025 will be delivered by 25thApril 2025. All orders after 8th April 2025 will be taken on a case-by-case basis and will be dependent upon stock.
