559invalid@example.com (Ian Grant)Ian GrantThis is a technique for portraying movement useful with trees, water, clouds etc, instead of a blur you get small incemental steps.
Essentially you need a filter to increase the exposure times this could be a Neutral Density filter, a Polariser, or any deep filter that increases the Exposure factor. I tend to use a Green filter as it also separates the greens when there's foliage/leaves etc.
The idea is to use a series of shorter exposures to build up to the desired exposure...

3259invalid@example.com (Marley's Ghost)Marley's GhostI went a bit mad a couple of weeks ago and bought yet another half plate Kodak B - actually there was method to my madness, the camera came with a 207mm Ektar in an Epsilon shutter - and a 5x4 reducing back ... and the price for the whole thing was about the same as I could get for selling off the lens and shutter.
Being as my Kodak Specialist has an ill front rise (stripped gear) I was mostly looking at the model B for parts - it actually turned out to be in rather good condition under the...

I've shot 6x6 and 6x9 film off and on over the years along with digital, but I kind of like the idea of slowing down even more. I'd be interested in knowing if folks would suggest something like a new Intrepid, vs a used Tachihara or similar in good condition? Prices seem more-or-less similar. Thanks! 3246invalid@example.com (monopix)monopixI've been looking for one of these for a while and this one popped up on ebay. Pretty rare to find, especially in good condition.
Interesting fact - it uses a standard close-up lens element for the monocular. It's the size that would be fitted into a 58mm filter holder. So easy to replace or change to fit your eyesight. The one fitted was a +4 dioptre. However, by experiment, I found I needed a +7. No such beast exists so I glued a filter rim inside the hood so extra filters could be added...

3099invalid@example.com (Ian Grant)Ian GrantAs some here know about 3 years ago I picked up a Sinar Copal shutter at a camera fair for £20. I assume the seller thought it was broken as it would fire when a cable release was used. NAS saw it on a visit to my house, then went to his car returning with his special heavy duty, extra long throw, Sinar cable release and it worked fine.
I don't have a Sinar camera or any relevant lens boards, initially I thought of front mounting to a lens, not ideal. So how to attach to a 7"x7" wooden lens...

3274invalid@example.com (Tim Holmes)Tim HolmesI'm going to post a series of pictures of buildings that are falling down. Most would have been perfectly capable of basic repair at an earlier point. There may be a while between posts and I'm keen to see other work along the same lines. I do find the Colour or Black and white choice of place to post a little confronting given my penchant for only using colour where I know the building is likely to be imminently demolished or removed.
