I’ve always used NetNewsWire (now at 3.3.2) for all of my RSS feeds (currently at 152, but several are dead. I just haven’t taken the time to weed them out).
I use the three-window display, and can read most pages in NetNewsWire, but for some, I just tap the left arrow and the page opens in Safari.
