Programming has been a hobby for since I was a little kid and I make a living with this hobby since 2000. </p><p> For about 10 years I was working as a Linux specialist: I created and maintained an in-house Linux "distribution" which was used to develop several appliances (a thin client and several VoIP appliances) on multiple platforms (x86, PowerPC, ARM). I was doing software development on Linux using all kinds of languages (speciality: cross-compiling) and even doing kernel programming. </p><p> Since 2008, I started working with iOS and since 2010 I'm a full-time iOS and Mac developer. I have also written some <a href="https://darkdust.net/writings/objective-c">guides for Objective-C development</a>. </p><p> I also enjoy working close to the metal which is why I like to experiment with microcontrollers and have also experimented with <a href="https://darkdust.net/writings/megadrive">programming the Sega MegaDrive</a>. </p><p> <a href="https://stackoverflow.com/users/400056/darkdust"> <img src="https://stackoverflow.com/users/flair/400056.png?theme=dark" width="208" height="58" alt="profile for DarkDust at Stack Overflow, Q&amp;A for professional and enthusiast programmers" title="profile for DarkDust at Stack Overflow, Q&amp;A for professional and enthusiast programmers" loading="lazy"> </a> </p><p> <a rel="me" href="https://muenchen.social/@darkdust">Mastodon: @darkdust@muenchen.social</a> </p> </div> <span><span>marc</span></span> <span><time datetime="2016-03-13T14:32:33+01:00" title="Sunday, March 13, 2016 - 14:32">Sun, 03/13/2016 - 14:32</time> </span> Sun, 13 Mar 2016 13:32:33 +0000 marc 35 at https://darkdust.net
