I have a new amigurumi pattern to share with all of you. It is an amigurumi rattle for babies.

You can choose to do the duck or the koala…or both! They are really easy to crochet.

BODY and head in yellow and orange

Start with yellow color.

1st Round: make a magic ring of 5

2nd R: 5 Inc (10)

3rd R:(1sc, 1 Inc) repeat till the end of the round (15)

4th R to 13 R: 1sc in each (15)

Now we change color to orange

14 R to 15 R: 1sc in each (15)

Now we change color to yellow

16 R to 17 R: 1sc in each (15)

Now we change color to orange

18 R to 19 R: 1sc in each (15)

Now we change color to yellow and we start the head.

20 R to 21 R: 1sc in each (15)

22 R: (2sc, 1 Inc) repeat till the end of the round (20)

Fill the body and head with cotton or similar. Do not stuff very tighlty because it has to be a softly rattle for babies.

Add a jingle bell in the head.

34 R: (1sc, 1dic) repeat till the end of the round (10)

35 R: (1dic in each) repeat till the end of the round (5)

Close the head.

DUCK BEAK in orange

1st Round: make a magic ring of 5

2nd R: 5 Inc (10)

3rd R:(1sc, 1 Inc) repeat till the end of the round (15)

4th R: 1sc in each (15)

5th R: (2sc, 1 Inc) repeat till the end of the round (20)

Doble the circle in two. You should have a dicky semicircle.
Sew the borders to close the semicircle.

Sew the beak to duck’s head. Between round 24 and 25.

BODY and head in light brown and white

Follow the same instructions for the duck pattern.

Start with light brown color and to change de color use white one.

Koala SNOUT in black

You can use a thick black yarn for the snout.

Sew it up to down between round 27 and round 23 jut like the picture.

Koala EARS in light brown and white (make 2)

Start with white color.

1st Round: make a magic ring of 5

2nd R: 5 Inc (10)

Now we change color to light brown

3rd R:(1sc, 1 Inc) repeat till the end of the round (15)

In some places of our big world today is a magic day. The 5th of January come to every city-village the “Three Wise Kings”. They come with presents for children!  (They are like Santa Claus)

In my town there is a huge tradition and so we decided to “Amigurumized” them. Melchor King amigurumi, Gaspar King amigurumi and Baltasar King amigurumi.

You can crochet them using Santa Claus Free pattern, just change colors and do not crochet the Santa’s hat!

To make it easier to understand, is done an example with brown yarn.

Beard should be worked in chain.

Make a FIRST (A) CHAIN of 10 sc.

Make 10 more chains (B) that will be the ones that should be sew it in the first chain as is marked in the picture.

If you prefer, you can try to do 1 chain of 10, 1 chaing of 6… and so…to make the beard more irregular. Then the beard is more varied.

See picture below. Sew the first chain (A) to Santa’s body (our example beard is in brown, your beard should look like than the white one).

The body of bear-boy consist in making one leg of the bear, then we save it.
We do the second leg of the bear and we join the saved one with the last one crocheted. Then we continue crocheting as a entire round. See images.

9th R: We join both legs with a slip stitch. Now, we start to work as a single round of 24 stitches. We crochet sc in each (24). It is possible you end with 25 or 26. Don’t worry, it works fine too.

For the eyelashes I used the human orginal ones. Just take one synthetic eyelash and cut it in two parts.

For the mustache I used brush hairs.

For the lace I used a scrap of clothing.

This days I’ve been practising a new skill with crochet. The loop stitch (click to see the video tutorial).
I found this amazing free pattern and I decided to follow it.
But I also have changed some things:
– Large of the arms
– The face: crochet eyes
– Legs and Arms not stuffed.

CHANGES OF THE PATTERN

ARMS
Round 1: magic ring.  (3)
Round 2: 2dc in each st.  (6)
Round 3: *2dc, dc in next st.  Repeat from *2 times.  (9)
Rounds 4-5: dc in each st.  (9, 2 rounds)
Round 6: *2dctog, dc in next st.  Repeat from * 2 times.  (6)
Rounds 7-11: dc in each st.  (6, 19 rounds)
Fasten off with long tail.

It depends on how you sew the eyes to the head, your sheep will seem more sleepy, bored, happy or… silly… just make your choise! Here are some examples
