Boynton has changed a lot since I was a girl in 1950s, Cathy. My sister and I revisited in 2020.Still a lovely area, but most of what I remember is no more.

I graduated in 73. I recognize a lot of the stories. Especially about the Sutton. My mother was pretty much raised by Grandma Sutton as she referred to her. I remember her barely. But I do remember Archie he was like an uncle. I have many wonderful memories of the life I had there. My mom had the neighborhood grocery store. Trussells grocery just down by the old santafe railroad depot. The store building was originally the courthouse there in town. My dad bought it and had it moved to our location and turned it into a grocery store. As far as Casey’s goes my mother baked cakes and pies for Mrs. Casey to sell in the cafe. As a young girl she worked in the telephone office above the cafe. I myself owned the building back in the early 80s b4 it was destroyed some yrs ago I have a lot of stories I would be glad to share if I can help anyone my mother’s name was Anna belle Clemons trussell. My dad was Cecile Morton trussell mine of course is Cecile Marie the last of the mohekans lol

Hi, Brenda. Craig and his family actually lived down the street from us in Tulsa for many years after they moved from Boynton when he was twelve or thirteen, and since there were a bunch of us and only one of him, he was at our house continually when he was a kid, so he was more like a brother than a cousin. His parents were George and Lucille Turner. Lucille was my father’s sister, and my grandmother Mrs. Casey’s daughter, which means whenever we visited my grandma we saw Craig as well. Craig had a terrible car wreck in Tulsa in the early 2000s and was never the same after that. He died at home of a heart attack couple of years later. It’s always wonderful to hear from those who really know what Boynton was like.

I knew Mrs Casey also. I still live just a few miles from Boynton. My great uncle was Doc Graves who delivered many babies in the area. We have an Alumni Facebook page you might be able to find some info that might interest some of you it’s Boynton Oklahoma Alumni. Most of the older ones are gone now but still a few around.

I first remember we met in Texas . Craigs dad and mine were working on a job. My dad was a welder (tank builder) we moved round a lot . We have or had some 8 mm movie films they are on. I can’t remember their first names. Craig and I were good friends in jr high. We were living in Boynton then. I graduated 1969. I don’t remember how but knew when Craig died.

My 2x great grandfather, I.M. Morton, brought the family to Boynton in 1903. He had a blacksmith shop and was one of the founding trustees of Allen AME Church. I was driving through town today when I noticed the “Boynton-Moton Public Schools” building. My heart leaped because the family was often referred to as “Moton” in the early years. Does anyone know the history of the school and how it came by its name?

My grandpa grew up there until he move to Tucson, Arizona. But my uncle Archie lived there until late 90s early 2000s before his age got the best of him. I was in high school when we picked him up and took him to oru hospital were he passed shortly after. So many stories about the family, the town, and the property they lived on. Thank you for sharing your story. Hopefully one day my family or myself will be able to share

Her husband was the chief of police Chuck Myers. I grew up driving through Boynton quite often, and my mom went to school in Haskell and graduated from high school there, while living in boynton. I would love to know more about the town, and if anyone knows anything about the bar/hotel, and possibly any stories about my family. My grandma passed away in 2016.
