The business specialises in bin-end wines, offering significant savings alongside a diverse selection of regular wines from around the world. ]]>Robert said: “I was very proud to lay the wreath on behalf of the Chamber, and all local businesses.”
The Parade and Service on Sunday 10 November marked the sacrifice of those who lost their lives in war. The event, organised by Bridport Town Council, Parade Commander Brigadier John Dean, Bridport Team Ministry and a range of forces, community groups, and volunteers, began with a parade through the town centre by representatives and veterans of HM Armed Forces, and local groups and organisations.
Accompanied by the Wessex Military Band, the parade moved off from East Street following inspection by the Town Mayor, Cllr Anne Rickard. The Mayor led the Parade, and observance of the traditional two minute silence at the War Memorial in South Street. Wreath laying followed, along with the Mayor’s address and the Service of Remembrance in St Mary’s Church.

]]>Dorset Nectar is a family run Cider Farm in Waytown, Bridport.
They produce a delicious range of awardwinning craft ciders, juices, and vinegar, all made on site at the Cider Farm from the apples grown in the organically managed orchard.
They have been making cider commercially since 2008. The Cider Farm is a popular destination for visitors to the area who come on the Cider Tour experiences.
The Tasting Room and shop is also open all year round for anyone wanting to enjoy a pint in the garden or indoors with a cup of tea. Tent camping is offered in the summer months.

]]>Stampede by the Sea will transform the area into a vibrant, fun, and free art trail, engaging with local families, schools, the business community, and artists. The event was officially launched at Bridport’s Electric Palace, where the first elephant designs were also unveiled.
The elephants will be located around the area, and visitors to the trail will be able to follow the app to visit each of the sculptures. The trail is expected to bring a number of extra visitors to the area ahead of the summer season, bringing a welcome boost to the local economy.
Fund will be raised for Weldmar Hospicecare through sponsorship of each sculpture and other elements of the art trail, allowing local businesses to play their part in the project and involve employees and customers. A further boost to the charity’s coffers will come at the end of the trail when each of the sculptures will be sold at auction.
Local schools and youth organisations will be able to engage with Stampede by the Sea’s learning programme. Each participating school will receive a baby elephant sculpture to design as they wish, and it will be theirs to keep following the trail. Elephant themed learning resources will also be shared related to citizenship and conservation, as well as the work of Weldmar Hospicecare, which can often be ‘the elephant in the room’. Teachers will be supported in starting conversations about grief and dying, and how children can be encouraged to share their feelings and emotions.
The trail will also encourage health and wellbeing for the local community by getting people outdoors and discovering each of the incredible elephants, each of which will be hand painted by talented artists who can submit their designs ahead of the event.
A ‘hero’ elephant has already been revealed, entitled Waves of Emotion, and was created by Dorset artist Anissa Lee, who worked with attendees of Weldmar’s Wellbeing Support Sessions to come up with a design that reflected both the local area and the care provided by the charity.
As well as raising funds, the project will increase awareness of the work of Weldmar in the west of Dorset, highlighting services such as visits for patients at home from Weldmar Community Nurses to provide advice and support, care from the charity’s hospice at home service during a patient’s final weeks and days, therapies to enhance mental and physical wellbeing, bereavement support, and more.

]]>The team from RJ Balson & Son presented heaps of sizzling bangers to attendees at the event where Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hosted the second UK Farm to Fork Summit alongside government Ministers recognising the crucial importance of the farming and food sector.
And despite the Prime Minister being a staunch vegetarian, Mr Sunak took a keen interest in the provenance of the product and was delighted that Richard had brought a van-load of sausages for guests to sample.
RJ Balson & Son is, notably, England’s oldest family butcher, trading for more than 500 years.
The annual event brought together representatives from across the supply chain to discuss some of the key challenges and growth opportunities that lie ahead.
The Government reaffirmed plans to bolster food security and support a resilient and profitable food and farming sector. The event built on the progress made since last year’s successful Summit, including work to embed fairness in supply chains, investment to unlock innovative new technologies, cutting unnecessary red tape and boosting exports of British food.
