Wolverine goes hardcover
By now everyone who’s interested in Insomniac’s latest superhero spectacle is likely targeting September 15th, 2026. That’s the date when Marvel’s Wolverine is exclusively heading to the PlayStation 5, for a battle against foes both mutant and technological.
The game has been a long time coming, and we mean a long time. Believe it or not, it was first announced back in 2021. Development was so lengthy that there was even online chatter that it’d been scrapped. But as fans have seen, that’s most definitely not the case. Far from it actually, as Marvel’s Wolverine finally broke loose at the most recent State of Play.
Slinging Logan into brutal action, Marvel’s Wolverine looks like it’ll be pitting players against a horde of classic X-foes. Those include villains like Omega Red and the Reavers. If you’re unfamiliar with the latter, the cyber-villains have not only been featured in Marvel comics for decades, but were also seen in the Logan movie. And, for now anyway, it seems like they’ll make up the bulk of the enemy forces that players will face.
As of today too, there’s a bit more to look forward to, especially for those who keep video game libraries. And no, we’re not referring to physical games. An art book has just been revealed by publisher Dark Horse, and it’s en route for release just after the game.
The publisher is following up on its visual Spider-Man 2 exploration with this new book, which is set to drop about a month and a half after the game.
Logan steps into the spotlight in Marvel’s Wolverine, the new action-adventure video game from Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Marvel Games. Fans play as Wolverine in an original story, testing his mettle against familiar opponents like the mutant-hunting Sentinels, the vengeful Omega Red, and the shapeshifting Mystique. In his globetrotting escapades, enemies new and old will demand everything of his animalistic instincts, his healing factor, and his savage, formidable adamantium claws. In Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game, explore the making of concept art, designs, and locales from the frosted Canadian wilderness to the bustling city of Tokyo, the remote island of Madripoor, and beyond!
“Having the opportunity to be taken behind the scenes by the Marvel Games and Insomniac teams was a dream come true,” said Forbes-Calvin. “Their shared vision for Marvel’s Wolverine, the world and characters for this game is a unique and fresh twist on the faces and places that fans know and love, and I can’t wait for fans to learn more about how this was all created.”
Dark Horse press release
Promising “never-before-seen details”, Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game is set to hit stores on November 3rd, 2026. Priced in at $54.99 USD, fans can expect the title run some 208 pages, and be presented in hardcover format. Pre-orders are open now.

]]>Marvel is heading back to the 80s, to re-present the Further Adventures of Indiana Jones. Look for a pair of hardcovers this fall.
If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones
Back in the 1980s, there were few film series’ as big as Indiana Jones. Starring Harrison Ford, the movie trilogy presented a set of mystic-fueled adventures that brought the title star around the world. On his way, Indy clashed with Nazi forces and Thuggee Cults alike, as he hunted down powerful religious artifacts. After all, they belonged in a museum.
In that same era, the archeologist would take to the world of comics, with a series from Marvel. That wasn’t all that outside the lines at the time of course, as Marvel Comics published more than a few adaptations and spinoffs, playing off of popular TV and film properties.
In the case of Indy though, he had more than one. Marvel translated his films to the printed page, sure, but also offered a set of totally original adventures. Through the decades since, those adventures have been largely forgotten, but they’re about to make a comeback.
Said return will take place across two hardcover editions. Fans can look for both Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II to land in stores this September. And in their pages, they’ll find what sounds like all of the aforementioned.
The collections will include the comic adaptations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, as well as the entire run of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, the beloved series that expanded on the Indiana Jones mythology in blockbuster fashion with action-packed new quests. Featuring leatherette binding, debossed cover designs and ribbon bookmarks, these special volumes are treasures worthy of Indy himself and must-haves for collectors and fans alike.
With clouds of war gathering ominously over Europe and a Great Depression gripping the world, one globe-trotting professor’s appetite for adventure and discovery remains unsated! Join Dr. Henry Jones as he scours the farthest corners of the planet in a constant race to keep priceless artifacts out of the wrong hands!

Further Adventures, in print
If you’re an Indy fan and you’re looking to dive into his comics collection, these upcoming books look like they might be the best option. The pair certainly seem to be the full set of what Marvel brought to fans.
The talent present is beastly too. We actually didn’t realize the level of creative teams that were put on the books, which included the likes of David Michelinie, Walt Simonson, John Byrne, John Buscema “and many more”. Those are some huge names, ones that more traditionally worked on Marvel’s superhero titles.
As for the stories that are onboard, Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I is packed. It’ll include:
Marvel Super Special (1977) #18 and #30
Raiders of the Lost Ark film adaptation
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom film adaptation
The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones (1983) #1-16
Finishing the tale, Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II s certainly no slouch. Between its covers, fans will find:
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989) film adaptation #1-4
The Further Adventures Of Indiana Jones (1983) #17-34
Ready to dig into the history of Indiana Jones in comics? Both Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book II should be shipping to stores at the close of September. Look for them to be in shops on September 30th, 2026.

]]>A full exploration of this summer’s DC Studios film is coming to stores in September, with From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl.
Supergirl gets artistic
The next big film from DC Studios, following up on last year’s Superman, is none to her than Supergirl. Brought to life by actress Milly Alcock, Kara Zor-El’s upcoming big screen appearance will be the first in a long time where she’s the spotlighted star. And while it’s notable just for that, it’ll look to further flesh out the fledgling DCU.
To that end, fans can look for more of the cosmic side of the new universe to appear. From the trailers, it looks like we can expect aliens aplenty, along with a few off-Earth locales as well. That’s not even mentioning a pretty big co-star though, with Jason Momoa’s Lobo.
If you’re excited for the film, then you might want to take a look at the official and accompanying book. From DC and author James Field, From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl will detail the Kryptonian’s latest arrival on the silver screen. Along with that though, it’ll also touch on the comics, exploring Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl (not final art)
Authored by James Field, this 224-page collection brings together concept art, production design, annotated script pages, and never-before-seen materials that illuminate the dialogue between comic and film. Featuring visuals from the creative team behind Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow—writer Tom King, artist Bilquis Evely, and colorist Matheus Lopes—the volume places their work in conversation with the film’s bracing and otherworldly visual language. Evely’s expressive illustrations appear alongside early cinematic explorations, revealing how themes, motifs, and character moments traveled from layout to finished page, and from storyboard to set. New interviews with the comic’s creators and the filmmakers behind the much-anticipated summer epic provide insight into the collaborative process that guided Kara’s transformation across mediums.
DC press release
From Comic to Screen: The Art of Supergirl is heading to stores for release on September 29th, 2026. The hardcover tome will clock in at 224 pages total, and feature cover art from Bilquis Evely, plus an afterword from comics legend Jim Lee.

The TMNT get scientific
We admit, we’re probably using “scientific” a little loosely there in that subheading. After all, we’re talking about a book that focuses on four mutant turtles who also happen to be ninjas. Still, that premise will be the topic when Insight Editions unleashes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Anatomy of a Mutant.
A hardcover book set to hit stores this August, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Anatomy of a Mutant will tell the tale of the title teens in a way that probably hasn’t been seen before. Fans can look for plenty of exposition on the TMNT and their world in general in this one, but also a dive into the science of the fiction.
The Turtles won’t be the whole story here either. Along with the title heroes, this upcoming book from Insight Editions will dig into multiple characters from the IDW continuity. And yes, we mean both Earth-based and otherwise. All in all, it’s adding up to be a title that fans of the green teens might want to keep an eye on.
For a sneak peek, check out the gallery below.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Anatomy of a Mutant (Insight Editions; ISBN: 9798337400303; On-Sale August 4)cracks open the shell of the TMNT universe to reveal the science and secrets behind everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell. ]]>Beat ’em up Marvel Cosmic Invasion is coming to the printed page this summer, with a full artistic exploration from Dark Horse.
It’s a Cosmic Invasion
Are you a Marvel Comics fan? Do you love beat ’em ups? If the answer is yes to those queries, then you’re likely well versed with Marvel Cosmic Invasion. A side-scrolling beat ’em up, said title saw release last December by none other than Dotemu and Tribute Games. Yep, that’s one heck of a pedigree, and it had a focus to match. That, by the way, would be one of the biggest fan-favorite eras of the Marvel Universe.
Spotlighting a 90s flavored (mostly) adventure, the game featured a massive roster of superheroes. From Spidey to Wolverine to Iron Man, most of the heavy hitters of the decade were there. Equally as chunky was the selection of foes that would oppose said stars and included locales.
If it sounds like all of this would make the game great fodder for an artistic deep dive, you’re in good company. It’s with all of the above that in mind, that Dark Horse has revealed just such a tome.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion —The Art of the Game s coming to stores this August. The tome will serve up explorations of the game’s levels, as well as commentary from the team, and more.
In MARVEL Cosmic Invasion—The Art of the Game
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is a classic arcade-inspired experience that thrusts legendary characters into intergalactic combat in iconic settings across the Marvel Universe! Now Dark Horse and Marvel Games take players behind-the-scenes of Tribute Games’s dynamic and colorful love letter to ’90s action brawlers with this comprehensive gallery of concept art, sprites, and more!
Dark Horse press release
Look for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion —The Art of the Game to be presented in a hardcover format and serve up a 120 pages. It hits stores on August 4th, 2026.

]]>Zelda fans, get ready, Dark Horse is about to dive back into Hyrule with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai.
The Legend of Zelda continues
Dark Horse has a long history with Nintendo at this point. It’s one that’s resulted in a number of pretty great titles too. There’ve been some stellar Legend of Zelda books in that line too, though there hasn’t been a release in some time.
But if you thought that the series was over and done with, well you might want to think again. Playing off of the more recent games, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai is next in the line. It’ll be landing in stores this fall, and sounds like quite the deep-dive.
With 472 pages overall, Dark Horse says that the hardcover begins with 50 pages of illustrations. That’s before opening up an additional 80 pages of “Hyrule’s history”. That’s right, this isn’t solely an art book.
Not to worry though, as you’ll find plenty of that. A focus on art definitely sounds like it will be present, along with interviews too. But along with that, this book will tell a story from the perspective of an archeological team studying the Zonai.
This 9×12” hardcover begins with over 50 pages of beautiful illustrations, character art, and promotional images. The book then dives into nearly 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches, notes, rough designs, concept art, storyboards, and recollections that provide an exclusive look at the development and creation of the game. Next, travel back to a time before the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, with over 80 pages of Hyrule’s history that include insights into the mysterious past of the Zonai, all the way up to the events of the game. Finish the quest with interviews with the minds behind this most recent entry of The Legend of Zelda series – Producer Eiji Aonuma, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa.
“From the birth of the Zonai people all the way through the resurrection of the Demon King and beyond, this book is a peek behind the curtain of both the making of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdomas well as the rich lore that makes this world feel so lived in. The art and insights make this book a must-have for any fan of The Legend of Zelda series!” — Patrick Thorpe, Senior Editor
Dark Horse press release

]]>A utopian society being built off the coast of Greenland might be more than it appears in Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia.
Old school thrills, in the DC Comics style
DC Comics is calling back, way back, to the 1980s. That’d be for the upcoming DC Black Label limited series, Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia. Not that the story takes place in the decade, but the book’s narrative is meant to be “a hard-boiled modern twist on the DC thrillers of the 1980s”, according to the publisher. That’s more than enough to get us interested. Those kinds of premier titles have been a glaring omission for a long time, and this one’s looking sharp.
The title will hail from Gabriel Hardman, who’ll be handling the book’s writing, art, and inks. Not that it’ll be a completely one-man show though. Romulo Fajardo Jr. will provide colors for the four-issue series, and Simon Bowland will be onboard as letterer.
Events will surround a sea-bound city that’s being built off the coast of Greenland, a utopia of the modern age. Its goal is to survive extreme climate events… or is it? While Bruce Wayne appears to be an interested party, he seems to have his doubts as well, and that’s where his alter-ego of The Batman comes in. As mentioned though, Batman isn’t the only hero looking into the city of Arcadia. And while Green Arrow and The Question both are on the side of justice, they’re also not exactly eye-to-eye with the Dark Knight.

Written, pencilled, and inked by Hardman, with colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr. and lettering by Simon Bowland, Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadiaunites three of DC’s most ideologically distinct heroes in an expansive narrative of global stakes and personal reckoning. As Bruce Wayne forms a tenuous bond with a billionaire climate visionary, Batman begins to question the true purpose of Arcadia—an ocean-sailing city, climate-hardened against weather extremes, being constructed off the coast of Greenland. Meanwhile, Green Arrow and the Question investigate the darker realities hidden beneath Arcadia’s utopian promise.
“I’ve wanted to tell a story about Batman, Green Arrow and the Question since I was 14 years old and I couldn’t be more excited to finally get the chance,” said Gabriel Hardman. “While I’m taking inspiration from the great work of Denny O’Neil, Denys Cowan and Mike Grell, this series isn’t an exercise in nostalgia. I’m taking the grounded approach they spearheaded in the late 80s and moving forward, having these three difficult, opinionated personalities confront a contemporary brand of criminality on a global scale.”
Through a high-stakes blend of suspense, espionage, and conflict, Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia is perfect for readers seeking complex narratives and iconic archetypes as the comic book series dives deep into the moral gray zones of three of the DC Universe’s most unyielding vigilantes. In Arcadia, working from the decaying husk of Hub City, Vic Sage, the Question, goes deep undercover on the trail of a human-trafficking operation in the frozen Arctic. Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, pushed out of his own company’s C-suite, must get his crumbling life back together…but what is Queen Industries’ involvement with a mysterious project dubbed Arcadia? Spurred on by the Question, Green Arrow joins the hunt for answers…but one obstacle stands in the way of their investigation: the Batman.
Expect bold storytelling, dynamic visuals, and a tone that honors the psychological depth of its vigilante protagonists, each guided by their own code and clashing as often as they unite, while posing difficult questions: When justice fails, what remains? When power corrupts, who resists? And when principle becomes weaponized, who gets hurt?
DC Comics press release
A variant that actually does hail from the 80s?!
Hang on, because we’ll get to that in a second. As you can see in the gallery however, Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia will ship with both standard and variant covers, though not all of the latter have been included in this preview. The standard that you see will be from Hardman, obviously, while the pair of variants will spin out of the pencils of Kevin Nowlan and the team of Denys Cowan & Bill Sienkiewicz.
Cowan and Sienkiewicz’s variant is the second image you see above, and will be a bit special. And yes, that means it has roots in the era that the book itself is meant to harken back to. The piece was originally a DC poster that promoted “the 1988 “Fables” crossover between Detective Comics Annual #1, Green Arrow Annual #1, and The Question Annual #1″. Apparently it hasn’t been seen since, at least as a variant cover. That changes this year, as it’ll be made available as both cardback and “trade-dress-free foil versions” for Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #1.
Speaking of availability, Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia #1 (of 4) will debut this fall. Look for it to land in stores (along with its variants) on November 26th. As for pricing, cardback covers will be priced at $5.99 USD, and foil variants at $7.99. When all is said and done with the limited series, there’s also a hardcover volume inbound that’ll include the full tale.
Fans can look for that in stores on June 16th, 2026, with a price tag of $24.99 USD.

Trilogy of possibilities
It’s a whole new world in X-Men Elsewhen, a massive X-Men story arc created by the legendary writer/artist John Byrne. Okay, we know what you might be thinking, and if that title doesn’t sound familiar to you, you’ll be happy to know that there is a reason. Namely, that’s that its history is a little off-center and a lot nonexistent.
Basically, the iconic Byrne, who is one of the biggest creative forces in X-Men history, alongside Chris Claremont and Terry Austin, forged his own series of comics that never saw publication. These issues, and there are quite a few, spun out of the ending of the Dark Phoenix Saga, but with a big ‘what if’ style idea in place. And apparently, it’s one that was originally a possible in-canon ending.
The long and the short of it, is that Byrne wondered what might have happened, if instead of sacrificing herself at the pinnacle of the tale, Jean Grey survived. Any X-fan can probably guess that the alteration would have made for some radically different stories, and presenting those is the point of X-Men: Elsewhen.
When the story opens, the team has returned to Earth (after the Dark Phoenix arc). And when they land, they’ll face down a trip to the Savage Land “and beyond”, plus altered encounters with “the Sentinels, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, Spider-Man, and many other familiar faces.”
Epic format, for an epic tale
Fans can look for X-Men: Elsewhen to ship to stores as a series of three hardcover graphic novels. Notable too, is that the book will see publication under the banner of Abrams ComicArts’ Marvel Arts line.
While that might seem new and different, it also isn’t a first. Marvel Arts is already rolling with titles like “Alex Ross’s Fantastic Four: Full Circle; The Super Hero’s Journey by Patrick McDonnell; and The Avengers: Veracity Trip by Chip Kidd and Michael Cho”. All the same though, X-Men: Elsewhen certainly looks like the biggest and most ambitious release in the line to date.
Volume 1 will launch in April of 2026, followed by the second installment in the fall. After that, spring of 2027 will bring the trilogy to its close with X-Men: Elsewhen Volume 3. The hardcover books will be presented in 7.5 x 11″ format, with dust jackets included. Expect each one to include 200 pages of story and artwork, “with a number of additional features”, according to the publisher.
Read on for quotes from Byrne, and others, about the book
“They say you can’t go home again,” said writer/artist John Byrne. “They’re wrong.”
“John Byrne has done something truly unique here,” said X-Men Elsewhen series editor Chris Ryall. “He’s created all-new X-Men adventures that not only serve as a reminder of why Byrne’s past work on these characters was beloved and influential, while at the same time presenting all-new and relevant stories that will captivate newer X-Men fans as well.”
“We’re incredibly excited to be publishing X-Men: Elsewhen with John Byrne,” said Joseph Montagne, Publisher of Abrams ComicArts. “This project is something truly rare. It offers a chance to revisit one of the most iconic runs in comics history, told by the original co-creator in his own voice. Byrne’s passion for these characters comes through on every page. We’re proud to bring this long-awaited story to readers through our Marvel Arts line and to add such a meaningful project to this collaboration between Abrams and Marvel.”

Face your Rival
Is there a hotter game right now than NetEase’s hero-shooter, Marvel Rivals? There definitely isn’t in that specific space, though we’d make the argument that no multiplayer title is as big these days.
We have to imagine that a good part of its success, aside from the gameplay, are the designs. Yes, they’re familiar, as they should be, but NetEase’s takes on Marvel Comics’ superheroes and villains are also fairly original.
And that brings us to the latest reveal to emerge from SDCC this week from Dark Horse Comics. Yes, Dark Horse, as the company will be producing a mighty poster book, dubbed Marvel Rivals: The Poster Collection. This won’t be an ordinary art book, as the publisher says the title’s pages will be printed on heavyweight stock, and will be designed to be pulled out.
A total of 20 pages will be included, with the total package clocking in at an impressive 12×16” in size. Dark Horse goes on to call these tear-out prints “gallery-quality” too, so they’d probably look pretty great up on your wall. Then again, there’s also something to be said about keeping them on the spine, all ready for thumbing through.
Fans will be able to decide whichever tract they prefer, if they grab copy of Marvel Rivals: The Poster Collection, when it arrives in bookstores on January 13th, 2026. Comics shops will, naturally, get their stock of the title the next day.
