I just spent the better part of a morning reading the entire site. Thanks for sharing the amazing process and along with all the details.

This is my very favorite cars from the era. I grew up in a Mopar family that included a 56 300B and a 60 Crown Imperial as family cars. But my mom’s best friend drove a 59 Buick and I always loved that car. There is a red/red version that shows here in Northern CA regularly – but it is no where near the work of art that your car is!

Thank you for preserving this beauty for the ages.

Hello,

I saw your car at the Indian Hills Car Show in Franklin Lakes, NJ, this past summer. I had a few pictures on my computer and I was trying to figure out which model car this was. I only had the Buick badge and the plate to work with, which luckily landed me here on your web page. I appreciate your car even more after seeing all the work that you’ve done to it. The one thing that I really liked is the dash and all the labels that each switch, dial, and pedal had.

I just wanted to say thanks for documenting the research and restoration process. I especially enjoyed “p.3” wherein you discover the provenance of the car. (It is okay, I believe, to steal that language usually used in reference to Renoirs and Picassos, since your Electra is indeed a work of art.) 🙂

I came across your site because a friend of a friend is the owner of the 59 Monterey in the same Meadowbrook show. In looking at pictures of his car, I saw yours and just had to know more about it. I had always thought the mid-60’s Ford-Shelby Cobras were my favorite car ever (it’s hard top that styling on a car that did 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds 50 years ago), but think your specific 1Fine59 is my new favorite. Congratulations on such great work and thanks for sharing so much of your efforts, both your entertaining accounts as well as the photos. Please keep my e-mail and let me know if you are ever taking this car out my way – Northern Virginia, near Dulles airport – and I’d love to come see it in person. (Although I dread the thought of it being on the beltway for even a minute, even in a trailer!)
