I love covers, I seriously do. While a cover isn’t the be all, end all for me it does catch up eye. Sometimes it’s the cover itself but the typography that really stands out. ]]>This week, I’m sharing new to me authors that I loved reading in 2025. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and Bookish and is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl.
Rina Kent: I read a lot of Rina Kent in 2025. About 30 of them. While these aren’t the best books in the world. I have a great time reading them. I’m finally up to the Gods series which I plan to read asap. I think I’ve liked the Monster Trilogy the most so far.
R.E. Bond: This is another author that I read a lot of in 2025. I was seeing her at a couple different events throughtout the year and just tried to read as many as I could. I think my favourite from all the books I read was either the The Night Thieves or The Heights.
Monty Jay: I only read one book from Monty Jay but I cannot wait to read more. Book 2 in the River Styx Heathens comes out this year and I cannot wait.
Victoria Wilder: I read all of the The Bourbon Boys in 2025 and just had a great time honestly. My type of contempoary romance for sure. Little bit of this, little bit of that, throw in some suspence and we are good to go.
Sable Sorensen: Direbound had been on my tbr for a while and I picked it up later in the year and loved it. It’s the type of romantasy that I enjoy reading and now I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Rachel Reid: Well I think Rachel is going to end up on multiples peoples list, but like everyone else I started the Game Changes series late in 2025 and I adore it. It’s a queer ice hockey sports romance that is sexy, intense and addicting.
Jessica Peterson: I read Cash at the start of the year and had to read the rest of the Lucky River Ranch #1 as soon as I could. I am excited for the rest of the series as well as trying some of her others series as well.
Invi Wright: These authors books had caught my eye a little while ago, and I finally picked them his in 2025. I really enjoyed reading the The Female series. Such an interesting concept that really took me by surprise.

]]>2025 was a pretty good year reading wise for me, and while I didn’t read as mnay books as I usually do. I still had a pretty good year. I read across so many romance genres last year and just had a great time. And while there wasn’t many 5-Star reads, I still had a pretty solid year and thought it was time to share some of my favourites.
From contemporary romance, to fantasy and dark romances, I read a little bit of everything in 2025 and I had a great time. I tried to keep this list small but it never really works that way. ]]>August was a slow reading month, but I had some really fantastic reads. I read one of my favourite reads. I normally find that this time of year I have a little slump, and while I still managed to read a few books, I didn’t read as much as I usually do.
It was a mix of books this month, from paranormal and fantasy romances to contemporary that I’ve been hanging to read. Chuck in some dark romances, and it was a great month. So let’s get into it. Here are the books I read this August.

Reading slumps are hard! I’ve been through a few already this year, and trying to get out of them is even harder. But I’ve learnt a few tricks over the years. Sometimes I’ll go back and read a book that I’ve loved and I know will help kick-start me wanting to read more. Another thing I love to do is read some fanfiction. I don’t know what it is, but it has always helped me. The last thing that I found that helps is to pick up a book that I know that I will love, and that is what I am sharing today.

]]>It’s been a while, but hey, I’m still here. Life has just gotten in the way. But it’s time to catch up, so expect to see a few ARC reviews coming in the coming weeks. First up is one I read back in March, but I loved it so much I had to share. I love this whole series, honestly, and this was the perfect end. So, let’s get into it. Here is what I thought about Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage.

And this time, will it be forever?
Wild and Wrangled:
I received an earc of Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage for review in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way influenced my thoughts and feelings.
I’ve been waiting to read this one since I finished the rest of the series last year, and it was worth the wait. Camille and Dusty belong together; they are fire. It took them a while, and I feel like they both needed to experience life and everything that it throws at them. But now it’s their turn.
Camille had just been left at the altar, and while she wasn’t exactly marrying for love, she thought she would have the safety of a marriage. Now, she has to face her friends, her family, and that is the last thing that she wants to do. But she is going to have to do it because most of them want to be there for her, including Dusty. Ever since Dusty returned home, he hasn’t seen much of Cam. They are both pretty good at avoiding each other. But then Cam and her daughter practically become neighbours with Dusty, and well, they can’t hide as much anymore.
I loved Cam as our FMC. I’ve come to really love her through the series, but she stands out in Wild and Wrangled. I adore the way she co-parents with Gus, and even Teddy. It honestly shows her character in such an easy way. But Cam has a lot of doubts, and they seep through throughout the novel. We see her struggle quite a bit in Wild and Wrangled, and well it was hard to see, Cam’s character development was spot on.
Dusty, Dusty, Dusty. May I please have him? He is soft and mushy but also so manly. How does that even make sense? But it works for him. From the start, we can see how much Dusty cares about and even loves Cam. But we can also see that there is something else between the two of them, and as the book goes on, we find out exactly what.
The romance in this one was so hot and cold. Cam and Dusty clearly love each other, but the history between the two of them is thick and heavy. I’m not a massive fan of dual timelines and flashbacks, but they worked here really well. I liked seeing baby Cam and Dusty, and a messy first love.
And that’s what the romance in this book is like- messy and not in a bad way. Cam and Dusty had a lot of firsts together. They both made a lot of mistakes, and a lot of things worked out exactly how I think they should have. They both hurt each other, and they needed to work it all out. And it wasn’t a quick and easy fix.
Overall, I loved how complicated Wild and Wrangled was. It made perfect sense for Cam and Dusty, and in the end, well, it was pretty messy and perfect. I adore the found family, the second chances and all the love that both Cam and Dusty have for one another and that others have for them. This was a fantastic ending to this series, and I am so excited to see what Lyla Sage has next.

I don’t read much out of my comfort zone; I stick to my romance, whether it’s fantasy or contemporary. It can be anywhere from light and fluffy romance to dark and intense. So there aren’t many surprises when I pick up a book. But sometimes I don’t expect to like a book as much as I did. And that is what today’s list is all about. I’m sharing the books that ended up surprising me, with how much I enjoyed and loved reading them.
