But as for losing weight, you still need to do the cardio workout (but in the water). Best way to do that is to do different laps, splits, speed-work, etc. It makes the swim more enjoyable, you get faster, and you’re getting the cardio up to lose some weight. Make sure the water’s warm though. This will keep your muscles warm and less chance to pulling your back as well. Good luck!

Someone told me that swimming could be the solution but my question is will I lose weight if I swim instead of running? (I’m not fat..I wanna keep in shape…forever)

Thanks Pete – I’ve been icing and doing ultrasound.
Did 12k on the weekend – and regretting it (just a little)… it’s gonna be awhile… But thanks for the info… Blaine

Icing has really helped and hasn’t affected my routine… yet! Nest of luck and let us know what’s happening.

I must admit I was a little disappointed to hear that Chip and Dale were not going to be around this time. I was soooo much looking forward to getting another photo shoot with them to match the one taken in Orlando. […]

I noticed I slowed down significantly in the past few months, too. You’ll pick up your pace when it’s a little cooler. At least that’s what I am hoping I’ll do. 🙂

But try to do some hills or run on the treadmill always with an incline. You forget about it after awhile and when you get out to flat ground, you’ll be faster. Works for me. Good luck.

I’m doing tempo runs and adding lunges, but I need to see about getting that stride up. I guess I’ve been taking it to easy. Disney’s in a few weeks and I’m looking to have fun there. But, I want to do better than the one in January (and still get a photo op with Chip and Dale). […]
