Great Hospitality on Purpose

For more than two decades, 24 Carrots has built its reputation on a belief that great hospitality should be thoughtful, creative, personal, and never left to chance. That standard is shaped long before guests arrive, through the decisions we make, the relationships we build, the craft we bring to the table, and the way our teams work together behind the scenes. It takes dedication, trust, craft, and collaboration, all connected by one shared commitment to creating exceptional experiences.

Dedication: Great Hospitality, On Purpose

From the beginning, 24 Carrots has believed that raising the standard requires more than ambition. It takes discipline, intention, and a willingness to continually ask how the experience can be made better. That dedication remains at the center of how we lead today.

Chief Executive Officer Carlos Bohen guides company strategy and long-term growth with the client experience at the center. Chief Creative Officer Carizza Rose leads the creative vision across culinary, design, venues, marketing, and guest touchpoints. Director of Operations David Petty oversees the systems, standards, and execution that bring those ideas to life consistently. Founder Norm Bennett remains actively involved as Founder and Advisor, continuing to guide and mentor the team.

Together, they bring distinct strengths across strategy, creativity, and execution, grounded in the same belief that has shaped 24 Carrots from the start: good enough is never the goal. Raising the standard means protecting what has made 24 Carrots distinctive while continuing to strengthen how we work and how we serve.

Exceptional hospitality happens on purpose.

Trust Begins Before Event Day

Long before an event takes shape, the experience begins with a relationship. It starts by listening closely, understanding what matters, asking the right questions, and bringing the right expertise forward at the right time.

Director of Sales Krystal Moreno leads that approach across our Sales organization, setting the standard for how we guide clients and build trust from the first conversation. Associate Director of Sales, Venues Shane Fitzgerald brings a deep understanding of the 24 Carrots Collective, helping clients see how each property can be shaped around their vision, guests, and priorities. Associate Director of Sales Kristin Howe brings creative possibility and practical expertise to experiences beyond our venues, helping transform unique locations into something intentional, personal, and entirely their own. From there, Associate Director of Event Management Chelsea Cook carries that vision through planning and execution, connecting the people, priorities, decisions, and details required to bring it to life.

Together, Krystal, Shane, Kristin, and Chelsea create continuity across the client journey, from understanding what matters and exploring what is possible to delivering what was imagined with care and precision.

Trust is built that way: conversation by conversation, decision by decision, detail by detail.

Craft Behind the Experience

Nowhere is the 24 Carrots standard more tangible than in our food. For us, food is not simply one part of an event. It is one of the most defining expressions of the experience, bringing creativity, generosity, and craft to the table in a way guests can see, taste, and remember.

Led by Executive Chef Matthew Luna alongside Executive Pastry Chef Janae Bueno and Executive Sous Chefs Anthony Celeste and Salvador Candelario, our Culinary Leadership Team shares one responsibility: carrying our culinary legacy forward while continuing to push the craft with purpose.

That means knowing what should remain timeless and where there is room to evolve. It means refining techniques, exploring new ideas, and maintaining the discipline required to deliver at a consistently high level. The standard lives in the details: the quality of an ingredient, the balance of a dish, the precision of a technique, and the way every element comes together on the plate.

Creativity moves the work forward. Craftsmanship brings it to life. Consistency ensures we can deliver it again and again.

Plate of ravioli with mushrooms on a green tabletop surrounded by fresh mushrooms.

One Team, One Standard

None of these ideas belong to a single department. As an employee-owned company, everyone at 24 Carrots has a stake in the experience we create and the standard we uphold.

That shared ownership shows up in countless ways: a thoughtful recommendation during the first sales conversation, a menu refined until every element feels right, an operational detail anticipated before it becomes a question, or a room transformed before the first guest walks through the door.

Exceptional hospitality is built through hundreds of individual decisions, connected by one shared intention. It is dedication in how we lead. Trust in how we build relationships. Craft in how we create. Collaboration in how we bring it all together.

That is hospitality without compromise. The 24 Carrots standard.

A Study in Contrast

Re-experience The Colony House in Anaheim, our reimagined venue with a stunning new outdoor Pavilion and refreshed aesthetic. A nod to this vibrant, versatile venue, we invite you to explore the beauty of duality through flavors, textures, and presentation.

The Colony House bar beneath clusters of rattan pendant lights.

Sip on inspired craft cocktails that play with paradox, from Smoke & Silk with creamy coconut, smoky mezcal, and spicy Thai chili, to Fire & Ice, a chilled Vesper martini served fireside. Oil & Water is an eccentric Old Fashioned with an olive oil-washed bourbon, balanced with a sprinkle of sea salt and black pepper bitters.

Collage of craft cocktails, including martinis beside a fire pit and orange drinks on a gold tray.

Explore opposites in each hors d’oeuvre, like a classic corn dog made classy with Merguez sausage and truffle crème fraiche. Pair warm and cold with our Spring Pea Scallops, caramelized with furikake and accented with cool mint. Enjoy the creamy and crunchy of an Ahi Tuna Rice Cracker, topped with smooth wasabi and crunchy chili oil.

Appetizer served on a black spoon over a bed of moss.
Collage of appetizers on stone platters and skewered bites displayed in white vases.

Stations celebrate classic combinations with surprise twists: Hot & Cold combines grilled cheese with tomato sorbet, while Sweet & Savory showcases sweet lobster corn pudding paired with crispy chicken skin. Soft & Sharp features creamy Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Sorbet topped with tart and tangy sour cherry compote and pink peppercorn.

Collage of appetizers with menu cards, including a potato espuma and grilled cheese.

At the Slowly…and Then All At Once station – a nod to this reopening project, how the humble, hearty mushroom grows, and how we like guests to enjoy our dishes – savor mushroom-based bites, like earthy and elegant Maitake Mushroom Cakes and addicting Truffle Mushroom Soup Dumplings.

Market display of produce on gray wooden shelves with moss and flowers.

Indulge in sweet treats at the Shaken & Stirred dessert station, serving custom vanilla bean panna cotta with fluffed granita and floral syrups. Sample from an assortment of cocktail-inspired sweets, like the Lemon Drop sponge cake and Night Cap chocolate cream, or a surprisingly savory yet supremely delicious Soy Sauce Caramel Ice Cream Sandwich.

Creative Process: ICA Hospitality Workshop

The Richland in Orange, CA | April 25th-26th, 2023

"Homegrown" flower cart and "Shut the front door" sign outside a gray cottage.

Food for Thought was a 2-day hospitality workshop that integrated education with play, creativity with production, and each guest was as much a part of the event as the ones conducting behind the scenes. We hosted guests from across the nation, and served a roaming cocktail hour and plated tasting menu on Day 1, and a breakfast buffet and plated lunch on Day 2.

Collage of a broccoli-themed garden display, a snack buffet and long tables in a hall.

Our overall motif for the workshop was Food for Thought. We’re in the business of playing with our food, so we wanted to present our take on the workshop as a combination of education alongside fun and play. This also reflects who we are as a company and reflects our brand strongly – even our company name is a play on words and food, and we take pride in being playful with our concepts. Food for Thought also reflects our encouragement of curiosity and conversation for the workshop. Our team wove a consistent message that every company and team is uniquely themselves and may have a different way that works better for them.

Collage of passed appetizers, including mini sliders and savory cones on wooden boards.
Collage of a floral display with a menu card and chefs plating food in a kitchen.

The overall vision was to put on a catering showcase that highlighted not just the end result of hospitality, but the process that went into it, from creativity to production. Integrating creative concept with menu development is a dialogue. We certainly view menu research and development as an extension of the creative process: and of course, the most delicious part!

For us, our strongest creative skills are vision, communicating that vision, and applying it practically to the tactile field of catering.

Collage of long dining tables in a bright hall and a lemon-and-greenery display.
Collage of "Here for the food" menu cards, plated dishes and a 24 Carrots truck with a sandwich.

It was a joy to watch the groups have a moment of discovery, surprise, and delight. And even more so, it was rewarding to take high-level hospitality concepts and apply them to the challenging world of catering. It was not only fun and playful but also showed our commitment to creative hospitality, where one size fits one.

Collage of a gold-rimmed place setting, a dining room with pink chairs and a dessert on terrazzo.

At 24 Carrots, we know we are more than “just a caterer.” We are driven by innovation, creativity, and unsurpassed service. This made the step into investing in creativity an easy decision. We want to provide more for our clients and for ourselves, so we lean in hard to the creative process. we want our displays, buffets, and overall service to be unique and very “24 Carrots.”

What better way to unveil our new venue, The Richland, than by sharing it with those who patiently awaited our transformation? Our neighbors in Orange have tracked our progress in their regular walks and daily commute, cheering us on from the sidelines as we added every final detail, and it was our honor to welcome that very community in for an exclusive sneak peek of the finished project!

Complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony and photo booth, our Community Open House at The Richland was full of friends, families, and fun bites of food.

Exterior of The Richland with its arched window.

Gold ribbon tied across the open doorway at The Richland open house.

Bright and merry balloons could be seen in every direction, complementing The Richland’s front steps in a grand display and being handed out to children and adults alike from the balloon cart stationed inside the ballroom. Live music set the mood as The Moody Crooners filled the space with their sweet and soothing covers of many a familiar song. As guests bustled around, miniature versions of some of The Richland’s menu items – now featured full-size in The Richland Living Room Bar and Lounge – acted as tray-passed hors d’ouevres.

Entrance to The Richland framed by teal, white and yellow balloon garlands.

Two musicians performing by a tall window at The Richland open house.

Mini mac and cheese cups with spoons on a wooden board.

Mini cheeseburger sliders on skewers served on a wooden board.

Little hands were kept busy at the adorable kids’ tables where stickers, crayons, and coloring sheets of The Richland were the main attraction. Outside in the porte cochère, guests of all ages were entertained by The Richland-branded cornhole and jumbo Jenga and Connect-4 games.

There were house-made cookies and fresh-squeezed lemonade for all and a specialty cocktail and Chapman Crafted beers for some in this showing of local love. Lemonade was poured and passed by our “baby carrots”, the children of our employees here at 24 Carrots, and all donations from the stand were paid forward to support Orange Home Grown. Guests could also step outside to grab a cup of locally brewed Chapman Crafted Coffee from the coffee counter propped in the courtyard. We are so lucky to have the support and partnership of local businesses as we welcome guests to The Richland.

C’est magnifique! Love was in the air at our Parisian-inspired Chef’s Table dinner at The Richland. Guests were transported to the City of Love with pretty-in-pink details, romantic music, and a four-course fine dining experience prepared by the culinary team at 24 Carrots. Our newest venue in Old Towne Orange was the perfect setting, where guests were welcomed into the cozied-up courtyard which boasts a mature olive tree and complemented with a stylish crushed velvet and marble vignette by Found Rentals.

Vintage scooter decorated with pink and red flowers.

Suggested attire on the invite was “Parisian Chic”, and guests did not disappoint as they showed up adorned in berets, tulle, lace, pearls, and a variety of texture galore. Their outfits were only made better with a chic champagne flute or coupe in hand, as specialty cocktails prepared by The Richland bar team were tray-passed. A baby blue Vespa dressed in pink florals was the photo-moment star of the show during our chic courtyard cocktail hour.

Ballroom doors opened to reveal a breathtaking table for 25, framed by The Richland’s 40’ tall windows. The king’s table was fit for any royalty, decked with dramatic candles and stunning floral arrangements, accented by personalized menus and oversized black and white gingham bow napkins. Once seated, the 24 Carrots chefs welcomed the diners with an amuse-bouche paired with a tale of inspiration behind the dinner menu. Each course was slightly reminiscent of a Parisian breakfast for dinner. From the salad course which felt like a crudité of freshly picked farmer’s market veggies to the main course entrée which had the flavors of a croque madame and the elevated presentation of a classic French dish, all playful courses were presented elegantly and paired with a beverage.
