The latest reports are that Mr Kapoor is stable and should be discharged soon.
Vidya Balan is often the receiver of praise but the Ghanchakkar actress was full of praise for actor-director Farhan Akhtar. Although the two are paired with each other in the movie ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’, it was Akhtar’s performance in the newly released ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ that got Vidya talking.
While at a lauch event for artist Sohini Mukhopadhyay’s new album, Vidya told reporters , “I have just seen the movie and he has done a fabulous job as Milkha Singh.”
The film is directed by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra and also stars Sonam Kapoor, who is still enjoying the success of her last release ‘Raanjhanaa’. The biopic follows the life of legendary indian athlete Milkha Singh and has already proved to be a great success at the box office making an impressive Rs. 8.5 crore on its first day.
Vidya will be seen alongside Farhan in the film ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ which is a sequel to the 2006 hit ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’.
]]>Commenting on the move Ekta said, “the subject simply bowled me over. It has plenty of romance along with the trappings of marriage; something today’s youth will relate to. It is very exciting to be involved in making such a film.” Commenting further she said, “I am looking forward to working with Farhan, who is extremely talented and Vidya, an actress par excellence and my personal favourite.”
Ekta Kapoor has never been one for giving too much of her films story lines away but she could not help to describe the movie as a “laughathon and entertainment all the way”. The sequel will continue the story of Sid and Trisha, previously played by Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat, but they will now be faced with the difficulties of tackling the issues of marriage.
Now with the successful producer on board, things appear to be moving fast with Vidya currently shedding weight for the film to hit the floors. If the production team and head cast were not enough to get excited about, it is understood that various stars including TV star Ram Kapoor, and singer Hariharan have been confirmed as supporting cast members. Sources close to the project say Hariharan is expected to play Farhans father.
Pritam has been signed for scoring the soundtrack while Pyaar Ke Side Effects director Saket Chaudhary will return to direct the sequel. The film is due to hit cinemas December 6th.
]]>Commenting on this new headway, Vinod Bachchan says, “We are already through with a rough draft of the film, which would be more of a ‘prequel’ than a sequel, since it would tell the story of Tanu before what we’ve seen of her in Tanu Weds Manu.”
It is rumoured that there were professional differences between Kangna Ranaut and Madhavan from the original cast, with sources claiming they did not have a positive working relationship. It is believed this has led to Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma being considered for the lead roles.
Vinod Bachchan did not comment on the casting of the film, but added “We will be starting work on the project once my film, Zila Ghaziabad releases on February 22. The film will be set in Lucknow and Kanpur and will also be shot in Delhi.”
In the meantime Imran and Anushka are set for their release of Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola this week, but with what seems like a highly successful pairing, we are sure Matru and Bijlee will be a good addition to the Tanu Weds Manu team.
]]>Karan’s project is not to be one of his stereotypical romances, which SRK has starred in, but rather something more unusual. It was reported earlier this year that four of the industries top directors would come together to work on a feature film to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema. Those directors are Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. The feature film, titled Bombay Talkies will be split into four segments between the directors. Each will have their opportunity to present their interpretation of the rise of the film industry over the 100 years. Each segment will then come together to form the full project of Bombay Talkies.
It is understood that Karan Johar’s 20 to 25 minute directorial will star Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role while it is also understood that Zoya has her cast confirmed with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif making an appearance. Anurag and Dibakar are yet to confirm the casts of their segments but rumour tells that Imran Khan will feature is Dibakar’s film.
Each of the directors fictional take will prove to be unique as their styles are very different from each other. Once each film is completed the final feature Bombay Talkies is expected to release in the first half of 2013.

You would be forgiven for thinking that since The Dirty Picture and Kahaani it had become a little quite in camp Vidya Balan. However it seems to be quite the opposite. Vidya is working on her second project with Emraan Hashmi but its not just Bollywood’s serial kisser thats keeping her occupied. If rumours are to be believed, Vidya is preparing to tie the knot with UTV head Siddarth Roy Kapoor near December.
While nothing has been confirmed of the wedding date, Vidya brought speculation to a near hault by publicly confirming her relationship with the UTV CEO. Before the public announcement both we often picture out at parties or away on holiday trips.
While discussing her relationship previously The Dirty Picture star has said “I don’t have any plans yet… and there is no engagement ring yet. It’s a while away and I am in no hurry. But it’s on my mind and there is a plan at some point. There is someone in my life.”
Not long after however Vidya said during a sideline interview at a Kahaani event that “I do believe in the institution of marriage. I will not ignore it for a long time. I will definitely get married.”
The couple met on the sets of No One Killed Jessica and it is rumoured that they have been dating since then. While speculation about the couples relationship may have haulted for a short period of time the rumour mill keeps spinning faster as it is reported both are very busy preparing for a wedding in the very near future.
Other than wedding plans Vidya is set to work on her next film Ghanchakkar which is to be directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.
]]>During a recent interview Ranveer describe his difficulty saying, “I am full of high energy, very talkative and extrovert in real life but my character is very reserved in Lootera. He is intense, almost brooding. I was just not able to crack this role during the workshop and felt frustrated. I asked Vikram why he picked me for this role, it was so unlike me.”
Describing how he ended up in the film, Ranveer says, “I loved Udaan and when when I met him [Motwane] at Filmfare award function I told him that I would love to work with him and immediately without blinking for a second he said, ‘I have something for you’. Next day we met over lunch and he handed me the complete bound script of Lootera. I cried when I read the story. It is one of the best scripts I ever read and it has shaped up beautifully on the screen.”
To prepare for his role Ranveer admitted to turning away from the tv, his phone and computer to help get into his character given that the film is to be shot in 1950s Bengal. Despite his initial doubts, Ranveer says he is surprised with himself but does not credit that to his preparation but the guidance and confidence his director has in him. “Vikram used to tell me that I have a side like this. He used to tell me, ‘Trust the power of camera’ and it really helped me a lot during the filming. This role was something that could have gone easily wrong for me.”
It seems that after successful performances in his first two films the Bombay boy will have a variety of roles to play after recently bagging Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela with Deepika Padukone and Yashraj’s next film Gunday along side fellow Yashraj heart throb Arjun Kapoor.
For Ranveer however, all his energy is focused toward Lootera which is set to release in March next year. The O Henry story ‘The Last Leaf’ adaptation will see Ranveer share the screen with fellow fresh talent Sonakshi Sinha for the first time.

Despite appearing in action film Rowdy Rathore this year, Sonakshi Sinha and action stunts are not a familiar combination but it seems the new box office star looks to change that come the release of Son of Sardaar. Despite having limited experience on riding bikes, Sonakshi is set to take to the wheels Dhoom style for the film.
“Son of Sardaar is all about attitude and it was given that Sonakshi had to do something more than just play a ‘soni kudi’. Ajay Devgn is already riding horses in this rustic ‘desi’ film while Sanjay Dutt is accentuating his imposing personality by driving powerful jeeps. It was felt that a similar trait had to be added to Sonakshi’s characterisation as well and this is where it was decided that she would be riding a bike,” informs a source close to the film.
All too often some of our favorite stunts have left actors injured therefore the crew are taking no risks with the Sonakshi on her bike. This will be of some release to the actress as she will be assisted by the use of cables to help her execute the scene.
”What you see on screen is something on the lines of DHOOM series, albeit as a spoof and only for a brief period. A new experience for her, it would also surprise her audience. Since the film belongs to the ‘seeti maar’ genre, expect quite a few coming her way for her ‘sardaarni biker’ act as well,” informs a unit member.
We certainly cant want to see Sonakshi turn bike babe when the Ashwani Dhir directorial hits cinemas in November.
]]>A source close to the production says, “Only after Viacom and Gadha were convinced that the sequel would in no way be affected by the remakes did the process of selling remake rights go forward. Viacom was very clear on the issue. The sequel should not and must not be affected by the remakes.” The source goes on to comment saying, “since Sujoy is completely committed to Kahaani 2 and involved in writing it, his chance of participating in any of the Kahaani remakes is very slim. Sujoy is busy writing the sequel and has cracked an idea.”
Producers Viacom 18 are already set on bring back Vidya Balan to take the lead role and Sujoy Ghosh to claim his directors seat again. The plot this time will see Vidya’s character taken outside of Kolkata.
With the original film being such a “dark horse” of a success, it is clear demand will certainly continue to be high with remakes and a sequel in the pipeline.

We all love a bit of gossip from Bollywood and Karan Johar is no different except for the fact that he enjoys the kiss and tell over a cup of coffee and a chat on the couch with the best of the best in Btown. Not to be greedy and keep all the inside scoop to himself, the filmmaker promised fans that his popular chat show Koffee With Karan would be back on the small screen by June 2012. Plans however seemed to have changed as the news comes out that viewers will have to wait until 2013 for season 4 as the show goes on the back burner.
To confirm the news, a source from the broadcaster of the show said “There is no movement in the pre-production department of the show as yet. We have not received any communication from our marketing team either.”
Industry critics have in the past written down such delays to Karan having run out of celebrities to appear on the show. While it is true that some guest have made multiple appearances on the show, close friends are quick to dismiss talk by saying, “It’s not true. Every year, there are people who say that Karan has no celebrity left on his list. And he comes up with a new one. But yes, the show is not happening anytime soon. Karan is extremely busy with his other television show and his next directorial venture Student Of The Year.”
To put any rumors to rest Karan was contacted by a leading newspaper and said, “I am definitely doing Koffee With Karan. We will be on air in summer 2013.”
While this delay may be a disappointment to those eagerly waiting fans, it is safe to say that plenty new talent has come into the industry this year for Karan to interview and when he does, we can be certain the chat will be as hot as ever.
