Big day today- CPRsavesVR official launch event at Lacey Fire District 3 Station 31

The pictures speak for themselves.

The visitors experienced a realistic cardiac arrest call in 360 degrees VR, learned the three steps to Chest-Compression-Only CPR, got a free CPRSavesVR Cardboard VR Viewer, met their Emergency Responders and Staff, got a tour of the station, fire engine and medic unit.

Very proud that this idea became reality today. This is the first big step to reach our goal: To help save lives worldwide, with a variety of specifically planned and produced VR public outreach campaigns, which will be available for free.

CPRsavesVR focus group day 1 – first rough cut screening

Met with volunteers today to share the first rough cut of CPRsavesVR with them. Chatted afterwards about what they felt, remembered, were missing. Came back with loads of valuable feedback for next cut and filming. Focus groups are an integral part for the development and fine-tuning for this public outreach campaign.

VR shoot with Lacey Fire Wrapped!!!

We just finished our first 360 Spherical capture module for #CPRsavesVR. The idea is that we engage citizens in ways that takes you into a scenario no one is ever quite ready for – a cardiac arrest. VR as an empathy and presence vehicle for situations that are trauma inducing and stressful is a great way to train and build an instinctual response should the same effect occur for real within our lives. It’s like training for earthquake preparedness. You don’t know exactly what to do until you’ve experienced it. The second time around, you can identify it, move quickly without panic, and operate effectively. A cardiac arrest is no different. This is why we shot it at home in the morning where you’re most likely going to experience a cardiac arrest with someone you love. We plan on shooting different modules to empower people with the knowledge to save a life. By starting CPR immediately you directly influence the possibility of a successful outcome. This project is launching on September 17th.

Heidi and John – the inspiration for CPRsavesVR

On 4th December 2015 John suffered a cardiac arrest at home. Heidi immediately called 911 started chest compression only CPR and saved his life. A week later John came out of hospital and the same summer they went on their trip to Alaska, as they had planned.

Exciting times: We just finished a little teaser (from casting footage) for a new independent project:

DOUBT is an insightful and provocative 360 spherical film that investigates acts of violence perpetuated from fear of differences.

The principal question we’re asking is, if you believe something heinous was about to happen, would you act on instinct or hesitate in doubt? And is that perception of threat even founded in the first place?
