Hej alla!

Allt är bra on Felicia.  Idag was warmer than the dagar before.  The winds died down by early eftermiddag, so we put the engine on.  We have made ett hundra tjugo nio nm in the last tjugo fyra timmar.  We hope to get some more wind soon and be sailing again!

Idag has been very uneventful.  The highlight is that it was shower dag for both of us, so we are now both feeling refreshed and smelling good!  We also spent an timme or so polishing up Felcia so she is feeling refreshed and smelling good as well.

We have made almost sex hundra nm since we left Horta and are over half way to Gibraltor, with less than fem hundra femtio nm to go.  We both are starting to look forward to our first öl when we arrive!

We anticipate arriving in Gilbraltor in about fyra dagar with about tre more after that to Torreveija.  However, we have not decided if we will stop or not in Gibraltor, but we should be it that area in about fyra dagar.

Tusen tack as always for the SMSs.

That is all for now my vänner!

Hej då alla!

Hej alla!

The Boss and I would like to send a big tusen tack to all the vänner of Felicia who have sent us SMSs each dag.  We also want to apologize for not acknowledging them for a couple dagar as we didn't notice the inbox on the Iridium phone was full and could not take any more SMSs.  After painfully deleting the old SMSs (we hate to let go of our SMSs!!), the new SMSs came in.  So tusen tack again for the SMSs.

Idag has been a good sailing dag as the winds changed to the southwest which is great for the point of sail that we are looking for.  We are now on starboard tack and sailing bra.  The last tjugo fyra timmar we have sailed ett hundra fyrtio nm, which is right at sex knots per timme.  We did leave the engine on last night as there were really light winds, but we have had the sails out since this morning and making great time in a gentle breeze at femtton to tjugo knots to go along with gentle rolling waves.  At this pace, we should get to Gibraltor in about fem dagar, with tre more to Torreveija, Spain.

Det är molnigt idag but fairly warm. The moon the last two kväll has been spectacular as it has been full or nearly full and quite large in the sky.  When it comes up, it lights up the entire bow of Felicia to the point that I thought I might need to put on my 'moon shades'!

Ok, now it is time for me to go cook some of my special home made Spaghetti Carbonara......you know.....the kind that comes in a package and takes fem minutes to cook!!

Now for some words to Vivi from Bosse:
Har du ringt om låset? Kanske du även kan kolla vad de vita glidlisterna till luckan kostar.

That is all for now.

Hej alla!

Idag was a pretty easy dag.  We had nice winds last natt so it made for good sailing and sleeping for the person not on watch and easy for the person on watch.  We saw a large container ship in the distance, the first ship we have seen since we left Horta almost tre dagen ago.

The winds started circling a bit idag and becoming lighter so that we could not make our course effeciently and calmly, so have had the engine on for much of idag.

We made ett hundra tjugo fyra nm idag, which is just over fem knots per timme.  We have approximately åtta hundra to go to Gibraltor, so we should be there in a vecka or so.

Idag was laundry dag for the Bozz and if it is soligt again imorgon, then I will do some laundry also. Although it is a bit cold for this at the moment, maybe imorgon will be shower dag as well.

We are SMS deficient at the moment, so a few SMSs would be appreciated as Bo and I are getting bored with each other and need some words from home to spice up the dag!  Tusen tack!!

Hopefully Bosse makes some dinner soon as I am hungry!!!  Got to go now.

Hej då alla!

Dag Två: The Azores to Torrevieja, Spain /felicia/posts/2012/6/5/118-dag-tv%C3%A5-the-azores-to-torrevieja-spain

Hej alla!

Last kvåll started off with some high winds reaching the mid-thirties before calming down a bit.  Since it was natt and hard to steer a direct course to Spain without the boom rattling back and forth, the Boz decided to put the engine on and we left it on until the morgon.

The winds have actually been between tjugo and trettio knots hela dagen.  At sometime around två this eftermidagg, the winds moved more towards the north, giving us a better and more direct point of sail.  Ever since, we have been sailing directly towards Gibraltor at about sex kts per timme.  In fact, for the past tjugo fyra period, we have sailed ett hundra and trettio fem nm towards Gibraltor, which we are quite satisfied with.

Other than that, things have been fairly uneventful.  We haven't seen any ships or dolphins this dag-  We sailed by Terciera, last natt, which is the last island of the Azores that we saw and will be our last sight of land until we reach mainland Europe.

I put on my chef hat idag and made us some chicken, rice and veggies with some sauce.  I would say that the chicken was maybe a bit over-done but not too bad, the sauce was a bit watery and the rice a bit mushy.  But the frozen veggies came out perfect!!!!!  Yippeeee!!!  :-)  The Bossman seemed happy with my creation, but maybe he was being kind.  I will say that cooking on two burners in the Atlantic with the waves rolling Felicia around, isn't the easiest thing in the world!

Ok, that is all for now, please let us know that you received this SMS and igars as well (which went out idag due to difficulties in sending igar).

Hej då alla!

Hej alla!

The Big Bossman and I are cruising along nicely here doing over sex nm per timme since we left Horta at tio this morgon.  Det är soligt! We are going quite fast, often topping sju nm in an timme.  In the first sju and a half timmar, we did fyrtio tre nms.  The reasons for our increased speed:

    1. We have great winds, often in excess of tjugo knots per timme, sometimes topping trettio
    2. We have fairly calm seas,
    3. The boat is a bit lighter as Freddy is no longer aboard :-).

We saw a dolphin jump out of the water today very near to Felicia but since it was only ett dolphin we were not that impressed as it takes tjugo or more dolphins to impress us these dagar.  Yes, we are very spoiled.  We also saw a baby turtle.

We did spend en vecka in Horta.  After the first dag, we seemed to have scared off our French neighbors.  Then some friendly Americans showed up, announcing their presence with loud voices and shouting.  Luckily for us (and them), they got rid of the loudest one of them after a dag or so.  Then some young Norweigens showed up who seemed to make multiple trips across the bow of Felicia each kväll as they couldn't make up their minds whether to stay on their boat or continue partying until the wee timmar of the morgon.  We also meet up with två swedish guys who we originally met in Sint Marteen, who also made it across the Atlantic.

I put on my very limited artistic skills and painted Felicia's logo along with the names of all who have crossed the Atlantic aboard here since 1996.  My apologies for the hodge-podge job I did, especially with alla name as I seemed to run out of room.  Captain Bossy Pants has a photo that I am sure he will show you all when we arrive in Torrevieja in Spain

While in Horta, we did some shopping, got some maintenance done on the Felicia's engine (women are so high maintenance!!), hung out for a bit and drank a lot of beers.  The weather was not that good, so we didn't do much else.

We had dinner tonight at Captain Boss Hog's Pork Ranch.  We had Captain Boss Hog's Special pork loin and pomfrits.  It was utsökt!!

Well väneer, that is all for this first bloggen.  Captian Bossy Pants and I appreciate any SMSs you may send to us!

Bo and I are still in Horta getting some repairs done, which should be completed tonight.  We wanted to send this bloggen to make sure it is still working, so please let us know as soon as possible that this bloggen has reached you.

All is well here, except we are one man short, which will make the trip much more difficult, but not impossible.

Hej alla!

It's official: I have missed my return flight to the UK!

Alla and allt är bra on Felicia.  We have just finished our dinner at Senior Frederico's Tex-Mex Restaurant as we were in the mood for Mexican food ikväll.  We all had the Senior Frederico's Atlantic Ocean Special: Chicken and vegetables with taco seasoning and some of Senior Frederico's secret herbs and spices, all over a layer of rice...yum yum!!  It was utsökt!  If any of you are able to visit Felicia, I highly recommend Senior Frederico's Tex-Mex Restaurant as a choice of fine Tex-Mex cuisine.

We are now enjoing reggae hour on Felicia.  We have had the engine on dagen as there has been only fem to tio knots of wind idag.

We awoke imorse to the engine making some funny noises and sounding like it was struggling a bit, so Captain Bossy Pants went down in the sauna and changed the filter making all things on Felicia better.  Originally Captian Bossy Pants invited me to help him in the sauna and I was real excited that the Boss invited me to the sauna.  However, the Bossman was able to handle allt himself.  As a result, I again missed out on a visit to the sauna :(

However, we used the revival of the engine as an excuse to have another round of rum shots, so that was a big bonus for all of us!

Since we have been wind-deficient for a few dagar now, we are requesting all our fans out there to say some prayers to the wind gods to bring us some wind!!!  We have enough desiel to get to the Azores, so there is no problems there, but it is much more fun and less expensive if we can use the wind as opposed to the desiel!

We saw a ship last natt and another again idag. The ship idag was a huge container ship.  We also saw a couple buoys idag floating around in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, which was a bit odd.

In addition, we saw some Portuguese Man of War jelly fish, the most poisonest jelly fish in the world.  We stayed clear of them! I did try to talk Freddy into taking a swim with these Portuguese Man of War, but he declined showing how smart a young fella he really is!!

We are now less than 800nm from the Azores and we should be there in about a week.

We didn't receive any SMSs today and we want to encourage all our fans out there to please send us some SMSs since receiving a SMS is always a highlight of the dag.  We will let you know in the bloggen when we receive your SMS.

Well, that is about all the news I have for you on Felicia today.

Hej alla!

Let me start by explaining the SMS situation here on Felicia.  The Big Bossman prepaid for a limited number of SMS minutes, of which this bloggen takes up about 4 minutes per day, even though it doesn't take that long to send the bloggen.  Funny how that works!

Anyway, SMS for you to send to Felicia is free but we need to save our SMS minutes to send the daily bloggen and in case there is an emergency.  So due to a limited amout of SMS minutes for us to send, we have not sent SMSs.  We do receive the SMS's you send to us and we thank all our fans for these SMSs.  So we hope all of our fans out there accept out deepest apologies for not sending any SMSs.  However, we will try to address any SMS's received with this daily bloggen.  Tusen tack for your understanding on this situation.

This hasn't been the most productive dag for miles as we only achieved 91nm idag.  Last natt, the winds were seemingly going in circles and we had to tack Felicia a couple times in darkness and rain, which wasn't a lot of fun.  Today, we had the same 'circle wind' delimma.  We were motor-sailing but decided that it was better to make a more direct course if we just take down the sails, put on the motor and head directly towards the Azores.  This way, we avoid the zig zag course we were on.  Hopefully, the wind will become more cooperative in tomorrow.

The good thing about putting the motor on, is that we can put the music on as well  Presently, it is the 60s timme which may be followed by the disco timme, the reggae timme, heavy metal timme, etc.

So Felicia has become a rocking boat in every sense of the word.  Felicia rocks back and forth across the atlantic as we keep the tunes a coming!  Freddy doesn't seem to excited at the music selection as he went to his room to listen to his own tunes :(  Anyway, I hope alla has a good visual of what is going on in the middle of the Atlantic on Felicia!

The dolphins paid us another visit idag, but only about fem of them this time.  They only stayed a few timmar as they seemed to have gotten bored with us :(  Maybe they didn't like the music selection either!

So we have about 909nm to go to the Azores and we hope to be there in sju (I will never be able to pronounce 7 in Swedish) to åtta dagen, if all goes well.  That should put an ice cold öl in each of our hands on the 29th or 30th.

Tack to all our fans for reading this bloggen!!

"..........and her name is G.....L....O.....R.....I......A......Gloria!!!!  I,m goin to shout all night....Gloria!!!!! "

Keep rocking mina vänner!!!!

Dag Nitton: Caribbean to the Azores /felicia/posts/2012/5/21/115-dag-nitton-caribbean-to-the-azores
29/5/2012

WE HAVE ARRÍVED!!!!

Hej alla!

Under the astute leadership of our Captain Bossy Pants, we arrived in Horta at 21:15.  Alla arrived safe and in bra health.

After nitton days on the sea, we were very excited to finish the journey that we started!  Seeing land after almost tre weeks was surreal!  With the eyes of an eagle, the Big Bossman was the first to spot land through the clouds.

Idag started with rain and cold weather.  The dag then warmed up and the sun made a brief appearance before again disappearing in the eftermiddag.  We made excellent time idag and covered ett hundra fyrto nio nm.  We  used the canvas sails as well as the iron genoa to get here!

The Atlantic Dolphin Dance:  Idag we had probably the best dolphin experience I have ever had.  I would say at least tjugo fem dolphins visited us on Felicia idag.  They weaved and bobbed around the boat and jumped out of the water many times. Several looked up at us as if to say hi and we could hear them communicating to each other.  Cowboy Freddy was making dinner and could hear them best of all.  It was really an amazing time!!!  I stood at the far front of the bow and weaved myself back and forth as over femton dolphins below me weaved back and forth with me. It was the Atlantic Dolphin Dance!!

After saying bye to the dolphins, we enjoyed the finest dining possible at Cowboy Freddy's Pork House. We were treated to Cowboy Freddy's Special Pepper Pork Chops.  The dish came with rice and veg and it was absolutely utsökt.  Let me just say that Cowboy Freddy is an amazing chef.  I am sure Papa Cowboy Freddy and all of Cowboy Freddy's family and his väneer are very proud of him!

After dinner, Captain Bossy Pants lead us into harbour with his astute skills and leadership as he has displayed the entire nitton dagar at sea!  It has been a pleasure to be at the Captain's side and to learn from him.

We are presently under anchor drinking as much booz as humanly possible to celebrate this momentous occasion!!!  We started with a shot of rum to celebrate our safe arrival.  We then made our way to the wine and now we are scavaging all that we can find on Felicia....tequila, brandy, etc mixed with whatever we can find!!!  Yes, we are having a party on the Felicia that the whole harbour is jealous of!

Since we arrived after harbour closing, we were unable to get a berth and are instead, anchored a mere sjuttio metres from the shore.  Captain Bossy Pants decided it was too much of a hassle to untie the dinghy and go  to shore this kväll.

We tried dinghy hitch-hiking for a while but for some reason, we didn't get a ride.  So as a result, we decied to party here on Felicia this kväll while looking out to the sights and sounds of habitation that has evaded us over the last nitton dagen.

Cowboy Freddy wants to tell Papa Cowboy Freddy that he is all set with everything and will ring him imorgon.

So as we rock to the Backyard Babies and drink whatever alcohol we can find on Felicia, we all want to say to you that we have made it!!!  We send alla tusen tack for your support and SMSs.

I need to get back to the party so I must say a hej då to alla!

The Felicia Crew

Hej alla!

Allt är bra on Felicia.  At the moment, det är molnigt.

We made 136nm idag, leaving 516nm to the Azores.  Idag we had a chance to actually sail for the first time in a few dagar as the wind gods finally answered our prayers and gave us over tretton knots of wind, which was good enough to have a nice eftermiddag sail!  And to think we didn't even have to make a human sacrifice----lucky me!!

So we turned the engine off and started to sail this eftermiddag and that was very exciting!!  The winds are much lighter now but we see dark clouds on the way and hopefully that means even more wind!!!

Freddy was really lucky this morning as he saw dolphins once again and he said that one jumped high out of the water near to Felicia!

Today afforded a chance to get a shower and do some laundry.  Unfortunately while doing my laundry, I lost grip of the bucket and off it went into the ocean.  Captain Boz turned the boat around and we went back to the floating bucket, but by the time we arrived, it started to sink.  Since conditions were quite calm, I decided to make a first class Olympic dive into the ocean and retrieve the bucket as it was sinking.

On a scale from 1 to 10, Bo gave my dive a .2 and Freddy a .1, so I don't think I have any future in Olympic diving! :-) Bo and Freddy are really tough judges, as I thought I'd at least get a 3 or 4.

Anyway, after retrieving the bucket from the depths of the Atlantic, I tried to swim around to Felicia to get back on board.  I noticed Bossman was taking his time getting into position to pick me up.  I started to think that ¨Boss was contemplating if he should pick me up or not.  I think he was weighing the plusses and minuses in his mind:

"If I don't pick up Jazz, there will be more porridge for Freddy and me!!  But on the other hand, Freddy and      I will have to do the daily bloggen.....hmmmm...such a hard decision to make!!!"

Fortunately for me, doing the daily bloggen won out and was enough to convince the Bossman to save me!   In the future, I'll make sure to tie the bucket with a rope before I do my laundry.

Thanks again for the SMSs you have sent to us!

Well that is about all from Felicia for idag.

Hej alla!

Allt är bra on Felicia!  Tusen tack to alla for your prayers to the wind gods.  We had nice wind for about a dag and a half, before they tailed off.  Now we have the engine back on and headed to the Azors with less than fyra hunda nm to go and we expect to be there within tre dagar.  We did hundra tjugo sex nm idag.

Now, who made happy with the rain gods because the sky here has opened and it has been raining and quite cold this eftermiddag? In addition, the winds started to swirl a bit and we had to tack tre times within an timme before the winds died down to less than 10kts.  So basically after several dagar of relaxing easy sailing and motoring days, we had a very busy eftermiddag!!

After setting our course and putting on the engine, we all dried off and went out to Senior Federico's Tex-Mex Restaurant once again and Senior Federico did not disappoint.  We all had the Special meat and veggie burrito and it was utsökt!

Alla here on Felicia want to again give a big tusen tack for all the SMSs we have received this dag and a special tusan tack to Papa Freddy for giving us the useful information on Flores Island. Freddy also wants to tell his Papa that he only needs his PIN code and not the PUK code.  Freddy will also give a call to his Papa when he arrives in the Azores and when he has reception on his mobile phone (but only after he has had a well deserved ice cold öl).

Other than that, the dag was fairly uneventful...no Atlantic Ocean bucket chasing and no swimming with the Portuguese man of war for us idag!

Freddy is now on watch and doing his Soduko and the Big Bossman has went to sleep and that is where yours truely will be heading shortly.

Tack for reading and hej dä alla!

Hej alla!

First a quick note to Vivian from the Boz:

Till Vivi: Vi hoppar över Flores eftersom det verkar bli busväder o åker direkt till Horta. Vi stannar väl någon dag o fortsätter ev till någon annan ö, men fortsätter sedan till Spanien. Förhoppningsvis är vi i hamn någon gång under tisdagen, så vi kan höras senast på onsdag. Ha de. Hälsa mammorna o Molle.

Igar I forgot to mention that there was a momentous occasion as Felicia passed her 20,000nm mark.  To mark this achievement, we had a shot of rum (of course we did!) and toasted Felicia's accomplishment along with many of her many guests over the last tolv år.

Boss man had a busy dag idag as he filled the tanks with the containers of spare deisel. We had some nice winds starting in the early morgon so Freddy and the Boss put up the sails and turned off the motor.  Idag was a beautiful dag and we had strong winds hela dagen, going at sex knots per timme.  The winds have been great but the going has been a bit rocky at times, but we are having a bra time!

We made ett hundra tolv nm in over the last dag and have less than tre hundra to go to the Azores.  Freddy has estimated that we will be in Horta in femtio timmar and I estimated Femtio ett timmar.  Captain Bossy Pants didn't want to play :-(

So now the timmar countdown has begun and we are all dreaming about how nice that first cold öl will taste when we arrive in Horta after nitton or so dagar of sailing!

For dinner we ate at Seniore Federico's Italian Pasta Shack and we all enjoyed Seniore Federico's Special Spaghetti Bolognaise.  We then finished that up with some fruit cocktail for desert.  It was utsökt.

Boss and I briefly saw a couple dolphins this morgon before they swam away.

Well that is about all for this bloggen.

Hej alla!

The wind gods did not bring us any wind idag so we had the engine on dagen.  We awoke to a glass-like sea state, more like a lake than an ocean.  No wind and very little waves.  These conditions are perfect for motoring and as a result we motored 148km in the last tjugo fyra timme.  We now have 652nm to go to the Azores and should be there in fyra to fem dagar, assuming we keep the same pace.  It may be sex dagar if we slow down a bit.  However, the countdown to our arrival at the Azores has officially begun!

The calm sea state did allow us to clean the boat a bit, keep the tunes rolling dagen (since the engine was on) and work on our beautiful tans!!  The sun was out dagen, giving us a gorgeous dag to enjoy.

We briefly saw a whale idag, which I originally mistook for två birds!  I guess I need to get my eyes examined as I can't figure out how två birds can resemble a whale.  But anyway, the whale submerged and we never saw him again :-(

We also saw saw a turtle floating in the water and hardly moving.  Upon closer inspection, the poor little fella looked like he lost one of his hind legs and was dying.  It was a bit sad to see the poor guy just floating and not swimming away and submerging as we approached.  Maybe he was hit by an engine propeller :-( .

Chef Freddy gave us a surprise at dinner in the form of jello for desert, yummy!

Most exciting is that Captain Bossy Pants invited both Freddy and me for a visit to the sauna!!!!  He just showed us where to click over the diesel tanks when one of the tanks gets dry, so our visit only last about 20 seconds, but it was great to have a short sauna!!  Maybe next time we can get some VIP passes and stay a little longer.

We received the SMSs from earlier today and thanks for that.  Now we have an SMS request for Vivian at the end of this bloggen.

/Bosse

That is all for now.

Hej då alla,

Hej alla!

Early this morgon, Bo and Freddy took down the foresail as we didn't have enough wind and since we were sailing goose wings with the wind from abath, both sails were getting back wind over the waves.

We made good speed idag going in excess of  fem kts per timme.  We did ett hundra tjugo nio nm idag.  We put the engine back on in the eftermidddag as the winds died down again and we couldn't make our course.

Since the engine is on, we had a chance to listen to some tunes on the CD player.  Alla went to bed already so I've been jammin' out to some Ozzy!

We have about ett hundra trettio nm to go and we should be there in the kväl.  We will let you know when we arrive.

The first person to site land gets a shot of rum!!!  We haven't told Captain Bossy Pants about that yet, but if he doesn't agree, then we might just have a mutiny on the Felicia!!!

Tusen tack again for the SMSs.

There really isn't much else to tell you all. Allt är bra!

Hej då.

Hej alla!

It's definitely getting cooler as we all wore shirts and even tröjor at times throughout the dag.  It still was comfortable and sunny but unfortuntely the wind has been very shy lately and finding it has been a chore.  We motor-sailed all last natt and most of the dag.  We even took in the sails and just motored along as we had less than 10kts of wind for most of the day.

The wind picked up a bit in the eftermiddag, so we were able to but out the sails.  Due to the lack of wind, we only did 106nm idag.  Since the Azores are fyra timmar ahead of EST, we started to adjust our watches and clocks idag and moved them ahead by ett timme.  We will do this tre additional times before we get to the Azores.

The highlight of idag was the trettio or so dolphins that paid us a visit idag.  They were all around Felicia and we could hear them communicating under the water to each other.  It was quite amazing to see so many, they were literally everywhere!!

Freddy wants to tell his farmor that he is safe and healthy and having a great time!  He sends his love as well.  Fredmeister also wants to say that he had a very nice chat with his far idag!!

That is all for now.

It is almost time for our traditional shot of rum for passing the 1000nm mark, meaning we have less than 1000nm left to go.  Hopefully, we can come up with another reason to have a shot of Caribbean rum imorgon :)

Day 4 on the atlantic ocean /felicia/posts/2012/5/13/100-day-4-on-the-atlantic-ocean
24.41.148N 058.43.782W

Hej alla!

I hope all is well with alla.

I have great news!!!  Bosman promoted me to Editor of the Felicia Blog!!!!!  yippee!!!!!  I have proudly accepted this most prestigous position.  If only my parents could see me now, they would be so proud!!!!  Unfortunately for all of you, that means the blog will be in English and some Swenglish as well.

Today didn't start out very well as the winds died on my shift early this morning, so I made the 'executive' decision to put on the engine as we were only going at about 1nm.  The problem was that I forgot that I needed to rotate the engine knob back counterclockwise to stop the horrible 'eeeeeeee' noise that arises once you start the engine.  Frantically, I had to wake up Fast Freddy who remedied the situation quickly but not before poor Boz was awakened by all the noise.  Both Freddy and Boz didn't look too happy with me about  that, but I am thankful to say that I didn't get thrown over-board.  These Swedes are a forgiving people, nothing like the Vikings of long ago!!

The winds picked up a bit in the late morning and we have been cruising at almost 5nm per hour for the last 24 hours.  Our position at 1730EST was 24.41.148N and 058.43.782W.

Allt Är bra on Felicia.  Det Är soligt.

We picked up a hitch-hiker today.....it was a small flying fish!  The Boss tried an old american tradition of peanut butter and banana on a cracker and he seemed to enjoy it.  At least he smiled and said 'yummy!'.

Today was laundry day for the Boz and Fredmeister.  Unfortunately for me that meant that I had to look at Freddy's colourful underwear hanging from the back of the boat all day when I was on my shift!

Well that is all the stories I have to tell today.  Freddy has just finished our dinner of spaghetti bolognaise and I need to go eat before it is all gone!

Hej do alla!

Hej alla!

We have officially made it past the half way point idag and are now closer to the Azores than we are to the Caribbean.  We have travelled 1172nm in the past 10 dagen with about 1120nm to go.  We had a shot of Caribbean rum to celebrate this achievement!  We hope to be in the Azores on the 29th or 30th.

We had some bad luck at the end of idag as the winds died and we had to put on the engine, which is still on as I write this bloggen.  The winds are at 7kts at the moment.

We fished hela dagen with no luck.  It would be nice to have some fresh fish for dinner but we just don't seem to have the luck to catch one :(

Well that is about all for this bloggen.

Hej alla!

Idag was a very good but uneventful dag.  We had strong winds in the natt at 20 plus knots, sometimes getting to 24 knots. This eased off a bit throughout the dag.  We made 122nm idag, making over 5kts per hour.  We are now at least a third of the way to the Azores.

Alla är bra here on Felicia.

Until next time,

Hej då alla

Day 6 Caribbean to the Azores /felicia/posts/2012/5/13/102-day-6-caribbean-to-the-azores
Dag sex: 28.17.19N 057.05.3W

Hej alla,

Things are going pretty well here on Felicia.  We just finished dinner and the sun just departed the skies. Today was quite sunny and nice.

Bo didn't feel so well today as he had a tummy ache, but he is feeling better now.  Bo has some very exciting news as he caught this enormous flying fish today and he is so proud of his efforts that we included a photo for all his family and friends to see!!!

We did about 117nm today which is about what we have been doing the last few days. The winds picked up a bit last night and we were crusing at about 5.5 to 6kts but they died again today so we ended up the day at just less than 5kts per hour.

Everybody is doing well on Felicia and that is about all there is to say for today.

Hej då alla

Hej alla!

We had bra winds idag and made bra progress eastward as we have now caught the easterly winds.  We are quickly approaching the half way point of our trip to the Azores, and in fact, i morgon may well be the half way point.  We made 121nm idag and in total 1056nm since we left St. Martin with about 1220nm left to go.  If we continue at 5kts per timme, we will arrive in the Azores in 10 dagar.

We had our fishing line out hela dagen but it seems the fish did not like our bait.

We have been on starboard tack since we left St. Martin and have only used the engine for approximately tjugo sex timmar.

Jazz went for a refreshing swim in the Atlantic Ocean and survived the experience!

Igår the big bossman changed the oil and oil filter in the diesel generator.  The bossman always enjoys his visit to the sauna (engine room), so he took an extra long time to do his work down there.

Freddy made us some chicken fajitas and they were utsökt!!

Please send us a sms to let us know if you received this bloggen.  Tack.

That is all for idag.

Hej då alla,
