Exciting news over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Over the last few weeks, the resort has been welcoming back cultural representatives from countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. Cultural representatives are Cast Members who participate in the one-year Disney International Program to help create authentic experiences and immerse guests in the diversity of their home countries.
You can find cultural representatives in EPCOT around World Showcase and Animal Kingdom Lodge has long been a location where African Cast Members work and share their culture through activities at the resort. With the 2020 park closures, the cultural representative program was paused but a phased return has been in progress for some time.
Now, cultural representatives have made their way back to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and can be found supporting Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment team by inspiring guests to care for the world. When visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you may find these Cast Members sharing their love of African music, teaching guests about over 200 animals who live on the Lodge’s savanna, and greeting guests in the lobby.
Naledi Nala, a returning cultural representative said of the program, “I love sharing everything I can about South Africa with our guests who have an interest in listening and learning. I can’t wait for everybody to come to Animal Kingdom Lodge and experience the warm welcome of South Africa and African cultural reps.”

If you’re making plans to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge this holiday season, there’s a new room-only offer where you can get up to 20% off room on select nights.
The Magic Holidays offer is good for stays between October 8 and December 24.
At Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House and Kidani Village, guests can get 20% off Villas for stays most Sunday through Thursday nights October 8 to November 8 when you book through October 7, and 20% off for stays most nights November 11 through December 24 when you book through December 24.
And, guests can also get 20% off rooms at AKL for stays most Sunday through Thursday nights October 8 through November 8 when you book through October 7; and 20% off rooms for stays most nights November 11 through December 24 when you book through December 24.
The holiday season is a great time to visit! You can enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom, holiday decorations at the theme parks and resort hotels, Holidays Around the World at Epcot, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and more.

The Uzima Springs Pool at Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is scheduled to close for refurbishment on September 1.
The pool and the Uzima Springs Pool Bar will both be closed from September 1 through the winter months.
Guests will be able to use the Samawati Springs Pool and Maji Pool Bar in Kidani Village. A shuttle will be provided to guests so they can travel from Jambo House to Kidani Village.
As with any construction project, guests at Jambo House might see and/or hear the construction work during the daytime hours. Work will not be done at night or prior to 9 a.m. each day.

This fall is going to be an exciting season at the Walt Disney World Resort and now you can choose from a free dining offer or a room-only discount for dates starting in August.
The free dining offer announced today is good on these dates: August 20–September 29; November 24-27; and December 7-23. Disney Visa Cardholders and residents of Canada can book their free dining for arrival dates beginning August 2!
Guests must book at least a 4-night stay (no more than a 14-night stay) plus at least a 4-day Magic Your Way ticket with Park Hopper and/or Park Hopper Plus Option.
If you’d rather book a room-only discount that’s available for travel dates from August 2 through October 7, and must be booked by September 7.
Guests at Animal Kingdom Lodge and AKL Villas at Jambo House and Kidani Village will save 25% off their room rate with this package.

If you’re making plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort this summer, there’s a new vacation deal perfect for families with young kids!
Disney recently announced FREE dining for kids ages 3-9.
Guests must purchases a 3-day/3-night Magic Your Way vacation package that includes a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room, theme park tickets, and one of the Disney Dining Plans (Quick Service, Standard, or Deluxe). Kids ages 3-9 in the family will receive their Dining Plan for FREE.
All guests must be on the same dining plan.
This package is available for MOST travel dates between May 28 and August 30, and must be booked by August 1.
Suites, 2-bedroom villas, and 3-bedroom villas are excluded from this offer.

Beginning with reservations made March 21, 2018 and thereafter, guests who will be parking their car overnight at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will be assessed a nightly parking fee. The fee will be added to a guest’s folio at check-out.
Guests at Animal Kingdom Lodge will be charged $24 per night to park at the resort. Valet parking is available for $33 per night.
Disney Vacation Club members will not be charged for standard overnight parking when staying at a DVC resort like Animal Kingdom Lodge regardless of whether they use vacation points or another form of payment.
DVC members also will not be charged to park when using vacation points to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Guests visiting the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a day visit – including shopping or dining – will not be charged for parking.
The new overnight parking fee begins March 21.

If you’re making plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort this summer, there are a few new vacation deals that were announced this week.
The first – a room rate discount – will save guests 15 percent at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas at Kidani Village and Jambo House from May 28 through June 10; 20 percent at those locations from June 11 through August 31; and 25 percent at Animal Kingdom Lodge from May 28 through August 31.
The next deal is a “kid-size” package that includes a 3-night stay in a standard room plus a 2-day Magic Your Way base ticket. At the Animal Kingdom Lodge this package price starts at $1,544 for most stays Sunday through Thursday.
The final deal is a 4-night/4-day package that includes a 4-night stay at a standard room plus a 4-day Magic Your Way base ticket. At the Animal Kingdom Lodge this package starts at $2,968.
Full details can be found at the Disney World website. All packages must be booked by July 14.

Disney has recently announced a new vacation offer for most stays from February 20 through June 10, 2017.
This new offer gives guests savings of up to 25 percent off rooms AND a free theme park ticket when you upgrade to a Magic Your Way package with a minimum 4-day ticket.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge you can save 25 percent at Deluxe Villas at Jambo House and Kidani Village for stays from February 20 through April 8 and April 9 through June 10 when you book by February 26. If you book February 20 through March 30 you’ll save 25 percent on stays from April 9 through June 10.
The same booking dates and discounts also apply to non-DVC rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House).

Back in the fall, we told you about the new quick service breakfast available at Sanaa in the Kidani Village. Today we have an update on the breakfast.
The Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast is now available on a permanent basis at Sanaa.
The casual, quick service breakfast is available daily from 7-10 a.m. and guests can get made-to-order meals in addition to grab-and-go items.
Entrees include: the Boere Breakfast, which features two eggs any style, tomato chutney, Tanzanian hash browns, bacon, Boerewors sausage and a Johnny Cake; a Safari Waffle with seasonal berries and a Chai whipped cream; and Fruit Sosatie.
Other options include a Sunrise Sandwich and kid-friendly choices. Press pot coffee is also available (that’s enough to get us there!). Grab-and-go selections include: yogurt parfait, fruit plate, boerewors sausage and egg bobotie pie, banana bread with house-made African chocolate-hazelnut spread, African breakfast cereal, pastries, and fruits.
Guests will place their orders at the counter and choose a seat in the restaurant. Once the meal is ready a cast member will deliver it to your table.
