Hurricane Melissa is a powerful Category 5 storm posing a serious threat to the lives and livelihoods of ABOUT THE HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF: Our Mission This website is established to mobilise support for Jamaica’s emergency response, recovery efforts and provide the latest information related to Hurricane Melissa. ODPEM works in partnership with local authorities, private-sector partners, and international relief organisations to ensure transparent and accountable management of all resources and donations. Our Goal Our goal is to build a national relief and recovery fund that supports families, farmers, and fisherfolk in rebuilding their homes and livelihoods, while strengthening Jamaica’s long-term resilience to future storms. How You Can Help Donate via the Government of Jamaica’s relief website via card or wire transfers. Support efforts to rebuild homes, repair infrastructure, restore electricity, clear roads and stabilise landslide-prone zones. Contribute to programmes that aid our farming and fishing communities. They will require support to replace lost tools, seedlings, boats, nets and provide livelihoods support. Spread this message to raise awareness and mobilise international support. Jamaicans. In its aftermath, recovery will take every helping hand. Together, let us stand ready to protect and help families recover, rebuild homes and restore livelihoods once the storm passes.Hon. Andrew Holness (Prime Minister of Jamaica): “Today, I’m pleased to announce the launch of supportjamaica.gov.jm, the Government of Jamaica’s official platform to coordinate relief, mobilize support, and manage recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. The site allows users to donate securely, submit pledges, report emergencies, and locate nearby shelters. It is designed to serve Jamaicans at home and abroad who wish to assist with national recovery efforts. Please remember, if it doesn’t end with .gov.jm, it is not an official Government of Jamaica website.”

Dancehall entertainer Squash is gearing up for a dogfight with prosecutors in Florida who have entered a fusilade of filings seeking to have the artist’s music and phone videos entered into evidence at trial.

The US prosecutors are asking the court to allow them to use the lyrics and images from Squash’s music video for his song Shubout to establish the narrative that the Jamaican artist is the leader of a transnational criminal organisation referred to as ‘6ix’.

The Federal RAP Act, which would generally bar prosecutors from using an artist’s “creative or artistic expression” against them, was introduced on July 23, according to Music Business Worldwide. The bill, supported by major music industry companies and organizations, is still in committee and has not yet passed the US House or Senate.

Prosecutors have also asked the court to include a video obtained from Squash’s phone as evidence. They contend that the video not only shows Squash in possession of one of the guns seized during the traffic stop – a pink Glock pistol – but also firing the weapon. The Feds also allege that there are other videos, images and texts on Squash’s phone, which demonstrate he has had other guns.

But Squash, whose given name is Andrae Whittaker, has instructed his lawyers to challenge the foundation of the prosecution’s case. In filings submitted last Thursday, Squash’s attorneys asked the court to suppress all evidence and statements, arguing they stem from an illegal search during a February traffic stop in Miami.

They plan to call co-defendant Zidanne Prescott, who will testify that no traffic violations occurred prior to the stop, in an effort to undermine the justification for the arrest. They also want any mention of prior homicide discussions, Jamaican police intelligence labelling Squash as a known criminal, or any gang-related allegations barred from trial.

According to the defence, Squash denies any allegation that he is a member or leader of a gang. They say the use of ‘6ix’ in Squash’s music is a reference to the Dancehall label he operates.

The entertainer’s lawyers are also asking the court to preclude evidence from discovery taken from an interview in which a prior shooting and homicide were discussed.

He has until August 26 to enter a plea deal and avoid trial, or face a possibly longer sentence in the slammer. The case could get underway as early as September 2 in the Southern District of Florida.

Squash was arrested following a traffic stop in Miami, Florida in February this year and is now before federal court on charges of being an alien in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a machine gun.

He pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal possession of a modified weapon, and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit. This case has since been closed.

Additionally, court documents allege Squash entered the U.S. illegally in January 2021, after fleeing Jamaica amid a deadly gang feud. He was previously detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and later released on bond after marrying an American citizen, who federal authorities say purchased one of the weapons found in his possession.

Squash now faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm as an undocumented immigrant, and unlawful possession of a machine gun. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison and possible deportation.

Rastafarian firebrand star Capleton is excited about the release of his upcoming album, Heights of Fire, an album title that he says is synonymous with his “relentless, fiery spirit”.

“This album reflects my vision of the world and the changes occurring around us. I aspire to offer listeners a source of inspiration and uplifting music that will guide them through life’s challenges, instilling hope for brighter days ahead and reinforcing the message that crime is not the answer,” Capleton said.

The album, which is produced by the indie label Evidence Music, features collaborations with legends such as Dennis Brown, Stephen Marley, and Junior Gong. Capleton praised the work of his studio engineer, Mixing Finger, who worked tirelessly on the album to make it a reality.

“This album is my heartfelt gift to my people,” Capleton added.

He said standout songs on the project will include powerful singles such as “Behave Yourself” and “Red Again.”

Capleton has released over 15 studio albums throughout his career, which began in the late 1980s. Some of his most acclaimed works include 1995’s Prophecy and 2000’s More Fire, which was nominated for a Grammy, and spawned hits like “Jah Jah City” and “Who Dem?”.

Another album, Still Blazin’ in 2002, also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album and featured the popular track “Cooyah Cooyah”.

The ‘Fireman’ recently returned to Jamaica after an incendiary performance at Reggae Land in the UK. The Fireman’s onstage performance was simply exhilarating, with huge orange balls of flame exploding in the huge backdrop behind him, dazzling pyrotechnics and images of the Eiffel Tower being incinerated in an apocalyptic inferno.

Capleton praised the expert vision of his graphic designer for creating an unforgettable spectacle that fully realized his vision.

“What set the Reggae Land experience apart was the stunning graphics that harmonized beautifully with the vibrant interaction between the audience and me. The visuals were nothing short of monumental, breathing new life into the reggae stage and elevating the spirit of Reggae Land itself,” he said.

Cabel Stephenson, a member of Capleton’s management team, shared that the addition of the fiery graphics to the Fireman’s set was really a “bonus for fans”.

“We wanted to tweak his stage presentation a bit to create an experience for the fans who come to see him every year and it perfectly complimented his fiery performance, he burned down north London,” Stephenson said.

Capleton has cemented his place as one of the island’s best live performers with a series of phenomenal onstage stints all over the world during the past year.

At the jam packed Reggae Land concert in early August, Capleton was at his masterful best in front of an 100,000 people at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in north London.

“One of the most memorable moments for me was the a cappella segment, which moved the crowd. The fireworks display took me by surprise, lighting up the night sky—it was truly over the top and a moment that will forever be remembered,” Capleton said.

ROLE OF DAVID HOUSE

Capleton is not often given credit for his work in elevating his fellow artists with the David House Crew that helped with the emergence of several future stars like Jah Cure and Munga Honorebel.

The David House Crew powered several hit riddims in 2001 and its members voiced on the Various Artistes Greensleeves Riddim album: Clappas in 2003, and the impressive David House – Kings and Warriors album in 2001.

One of the high points of Capleton’s year was the ceremony where he received the National Icon Award at Jamaica’s 63rd Independence Grand Gala celebration.

“After dedicating over 30 years to my craft, it fills my heart with joy to stand before my people and express my heartfelt gratitude. Every individual who strives for greatness deserves to be honored with integrity and dignity. While accolades are not my motivation, I embrace the recognition with humility. I create music to uplift my people and celebrate our culture,” he said.

On August 30, Capleton will end the summer on a high note as he will light up the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, joining forces with some of reggae and dancehall’s heavy hitters such as Shenseea, Alkaline, Elephant Man, Mr Vegas, T.O.K, Tony Matterhorn, and Tanto Metro and Devonte at the Reggae Fest Massive event.

Suzette Bennett, Capleton’s executive team member, said this weekend’s Barclays Center performance will play an instrumental role in the “lead up to his forthcoming album release”.

“This performance is the perfect prelude to the ‘Heights of Fire’ project as it will remind fans of the greatness of Capleton. This album will connect deeply with longtime fans while welcoming a new generation to his music, further energising his global fan base,” Ms. Bennett said.

Rebel Salute’s inaugural US staging has been postponed.

The organizers issued a statement via Instagram announcing that the event, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed due to the forecast of severe thunderstorms.

“Out of deep care for our fans, artists, and partners, we’ve made the heartfelt decision to postpone the first-ever Rebel Salute USA due to the forecast of severe thunderstorms this weekend,” the statement read.

The rescheduled date is April 19, 2026, and all tickets purchased will remain valid for the new date. Organizers emphasized that the decision was made with the safety and comfort of attendees in mind.

“For 31 years, we’ve stood firm rooted in excellence, integrity, and love for the culture. While our debut in the U.S. will be delayed, we remain resolute in our mission to carry the spirit of reggae, roots and culture wherever music lovers call home. 🌍💚💛❤,” the statement continued.

“This decision was made with your safety and comfort in mind.”

Reggae icon Tony Rebel said that the announcement wasn’t a “cancellation” but instead is a “commitment” to its fans.

“Rebel Salute has never compromised on quality or care and this decision reflects the same spirit that has guided us for over three decades,” Tony Rebel said.

The festival had struggled in its last incarnation in Jamaica, with small crowds flocking to the venue because of other high-calibre events being held simultaneously.

Reggae-dancehall firebrand Queen Ifrica has withdrawn her services over a reported contractual dispute regarding her performance at the Rebel Salute Festival, which will be held at the Miramar Regional Park on September 28, 2025.

Queen Ifrica wrote via her Instagram page: “PSA: Queen Ifrica regrets to inform her fans that unfortunately she must cancel her scheduled performance at Rebel Salute this Sunday Sept 28th due to terms of her agreement not being met. While she was looking forward to performing for the audience at Rebel Salute, she believes that artists must be treated with professionalism and respect.”

Fans expressed disappointment that the ‘Fyah Mumma’ would not be present, and scrutinized the organisation of the event.

One user commented: “Damn already got tickets. What’s the issue @rebelsalute 🤔 try fix this”.

Other fans demanded answers and transparency.

Efforts to get a comment from the organisers proved futile. One insider said that organisers were “busy focusing on the other artistes who have been booked for the show”.

The show, as they say, must go on and the event is still scheduled to feature acts like Tony Rebel, Maxi Priest, and Mikey Spice, along with its signature food village, art village, and ‘herb curb’. Rebel Salute has grown into a cultural institution, with a history of over 27 years, promoting a lifestyle that predates modern vegan and vegetarian movements.

Dancehall superstar Bounty Killer will hit a US stage for the first time in fifteen years with the event dubbed ‘The Return of the Warlord Bounty Killer’. The event will explode on Saturday, July 5 at the 18,000-capacity Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Paul ‘Bankie’ Giscombe, manager of Grammy Award-winning dancehall icon Bounty Killer (Rodney Price, OD), announced the artist’s long-awaited return to the US stage after a 15-year hiatus.

“We are extremely excited to confirm Bounty’s first U.S. performance in Brooklyn, home to the largest Jamaican diaspora population,” said Giscombe.

Presented by renowned Reggae Fest promoter CJ Miilan, this performance marks a major milestone in dancehall history.

“Bounty is eager to reconnect with his thousands of fans who have been anticipating his return. Brooklyn is where his U.S. journey began in 1992 with his breakout hit ‘Coppershot,’ so it’s only fitting that his return happens there.”

Bounty Killer’s travel troubles started in 2010 when the United States canceled his visa, along with those of Beenie Man, Sizzla, Aidonia, and Mavado, all of whom are Dancehall artists. Selector Ricky Trooper also lost his visa at that time.

Bounty Killer’s difficulties continued even after Aidonia, Sizzla and Mavado’s visas were ultimately restored.

“We dey yah! I will see you all soon,” Bounty Killer wrote.

In September 2024, Bounty had opened up about his prolonged inability to travel to the United States, a situation he had described as “devastating” to his music career and family.

“It’s life. Life is life and yuh affi jus live. I don’t know what I did to not have a visa for 13 years, but up until this day, di embassy nuh even have a good explanation for me,” Bounty told Gaza Uncle and DJ Everlina in a YouTube interview.

“I don’t even know how I survive,” he explained. “Most of my fans are in the US, and that’s where the music market is biggest, and I can’t even get to go promote my songs or greet my fans or even my family, my kids. I got several kids in the US, so this affected me devastatingly.”

Recording artist El Shaddai, also known as Dolly Don, is addressing strength and self worth in her new track Priceless.

Produced by Mario Cheef, the song will be released on May 24.

Priceless was inspired by moments when I’ve felt underestimated or taken for granted—whether in love, business, or life in general. I had to step into my confidence and realize that softness doesn’t equal weakness. This song is a bold statement that my worth can’t be measured or bought. It’s about self-love, inner strength, and owning your power. At its core, Priceless is a declaration of woman empowerment and a reminder to always stand on business,” she said, adding that Mario Cheef is also the mastermind behind the song’s engineering and visuals.

El Shaddai (given name Shada Barrett) spent her childhood between Tivoli Gardens and Jungle in Kingston, before moving to Waterford in Portmore, St Catherine. The entertainer, who has always had an interest in music is now based in Hartford, Connecticut.

She anticipates that Priceless will become an empowerment anthem for women all around the world.

“My ultimate hope is that Priceless inspires people—especially women—to recognise their worth and stop settling. I want it to resonate across the globe, lift spirits, and serve as a reminder that confidence, value, and self-respect are non-negotiable. I also want it to be that dancehall anthem that turns up every party, fashion show, and playlist it lands on,” El Shaddai added.

The artiste is known for other tracks such as  TipRepeat featuring MC Nuffy, and will also be releasing a track with Lisa Hyper on June 4 titled Drunk Off Love (DOL).

“My mother was closely connected to the original Portmore Gaza movement back in Waterford, and she actually had me sing for Vybz Kartel when I was just 11. He gave me some really positive feedback. When Lisa Hyper found out my mother is Anngodbless, everything aligned naturally. I sent her a few songs, and she instantly gravitated toward Drunk Off Love (DOL). She came to the studio at 1:00 a.m. and within the hour, Mario Cheef had already recorded her verse. The vibe was authentic and effortless,” El Shaddai explained about the promising collaboration.

With a bright career ahead of her, the entertainer has already been making strides of her own on the international scene.

“One of my proudest achievements is being a part of the BET Awards Experience in Los Angeles for three consecutive years. I was also featured in the prestigious African Achievements Awards with Mr. Davies Chirwa, who is the founder of Channel A TV. I’ve worked on projects with legends like Chuck Fenda. I’ve performed on stages before icons like Beres Hammond, Baby Cham, Valiant, and more—each experience shaping my journey and pushing me to go harder,” she said.

In the meantime, she is encouraging emerging female artistes to remain dedicated as they tackle the fast-paced industry.

“Stay true to yourself. While it’s natural to be inspired by others, never lose your originality. Enjoy the process and remember that music is an art—not just a business. Don’t let the pressure change you. Your uniqueness is your power, so protect it,” El Shaddai said.

Rise to the Occasion – Celebrating 30 Years of Sizzla Kalonji Global Celebration Kicking Off in Miami and Culminating in Kingston, Jamaica

Hailed as one of Jamaica’s most prolific entertainers, Sizzla Kalonji – born Miguel Collins, will this year celebrate thirty years in the musical landscape. The internationally acclaimed musician, who is credited by Rolling Stone Magazine as having created a “Masterpiece” in his second studio album “Black Woman & Child”, released in 1997, is undoubtedly one of Jamaica’s most influential Reggae artist in the modern era.

Celebrating an ever-blazing career spanning thirty years, a Grammy nomination among numerous awards and accolades, over 80 studio albums, his first released in 1995 titled Burning Up, we celebrate his groundbreaking contributions to Reggae, Dancehall, and the Rastafarian faith. A stalwart of reggae music whose influence has resonated across Jamaica, the diaspora, and the globe, Sizzla’s journey is a testament to the power of music as a force for change. At a time when the moral fabric of society faced challenges, Sizzla emerged as a vocal advocate for the Rastafari faith and a critic of societal ills. His music became a beacon of resistance, promoting unity, spirituality, and love of the black culture. His role as a diplomatic spokesman for ghetto youth and his commitment to spreading positive messages globally have cemented his status as a cultural icon.To honor this incredible milestone, a series of 30 initiatives will be held globally. The celebrations officially began on April 10, 2025, in Miami, Florida with Kalonji Konversations—a thoughtfully curated, intimate conversation with Sizzla Kalonji himself, reflecting on his remarkable journey. This special event in Miami, was a deliberate gesture of respect and recognition for the global Jamaican community, acknowledging their vital role in the preservation and growth of our culture. On April 19, his annual earth strong festivities move to his hometown of August Town, Kingston, featuring performances and community engagements.Set for October 2025, this monumental celebration will culminate with a massive one-day event in Kingston, where the heart of reggae music beats, titled “Rise to the Occasion – Celebrating 30 Years of Sizzla” and is projected to bring together thousands of fans, industry stakeholders, and cultural enthusiasts to honor Sizzla Kalonji’s legacy – the man, the myth, the music, the legend. It promises to be an unforgettable experience as patrons are expected to be immersed in an authentically curated cultural experience. In explaining the reason behind the event, Tamiann Johnson, one of the three women of Cur8ting Global — the minds behind the celebration — shared, “Close friends, family, and fans alike agree that 30 years in music is more than enough reason to honor this living legend while he’s here to receive it. His influence on Jamaican culture and the world is undeniable. As the scripture says, no prophet is honored in his own country — well, we WILL celebrate ‘Dadda’ now.”Patrons are invited to experience the vibrant music, food, and culture that define brand Jamaica, while being part of a historic day for reggae. This is not just a tribute to Sizzla, but to the rich heritage and global impact of truly Jamaican culture,” said Monique Blake, one of the women of Cur8ting Global. “The intention and authenticity we’re pouring into this celebration — we want patrons to feel that. It will be a ‘Solid as a Rock’ kind of event.”

Fans, local and international sponsors, partners and promoters worldwide are invited to join in authentically celebrating Sizzla’s extraordinary legacy.

Shaggy, Burning Spear, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Tarrus Riley, Steel Pulse, Misty in Roots, The Wailers, Morgan Heritage, Third World, Ky-Mani Marley… Rototom Sunsplash kicks off the excitement for its 30th edition with a star-studded first reveal! Get ready for an unforgettable summer in Benicàssim (Castellón) from August 16 to 23, 2025.

Over 60 artists are set to light up the ‘Celebrating Life’ lineup, marking three decades of festival energy and good vibes. From the legends who inspired Rototom Sunsplash to the Artists that are shaping the reggae’s future, this edition brings a mix of icons and innovators. For eight epic days, the Benicàssim concert venue transforms into the perfect spot, whether you’re vibing at the Main Stage, feeling the energy at the Lion Stage, diving into deep bass at the Dub Academy, moving at the DanceHall, or discovering new sounds at the Jamkunda Stage. This is how this celebration of life will sound like at Rototom Sunsplash 2025.Shaggy, a two-time Grammy winner with eight nominations under his belt, is the perfect match for Rototom’s 30th anniversary as he celebrates 30 years of Boombastic, the track that propelled him to global fame. His rise to the top has been fueled by massive hits and legendary collabs, including his famous partnership with Sting on Just One Lifetime.

More anniversaries come together at this special edition. 2025 is a milestone year for Rototom Sunsplash and for Bob Marley, the enduring heart and soul of the festival’s community. On what would have been his 80th birthday, the festival proudly welcomes back the legendary Wailers. The Marley legacy shines even brighter as Ky-Mani Marley takes the stage to honor his father’s timeless music.

Few names are as deeply connected to Rototom Sunsplash as Burning Spear, one of the greatest representatives of mystical reggae. He has probably been the festival’s biggest inspiration, especially after his unforgettable 1993 show at the Gaio di Spilimbergo nightclub in Italy—the very place where the festival was born just a year later. The strong roots vibe of the 2025 line-up, which embodies the spirit of peace, unity, and brotherhood at the heart of this ‘Celebrating Life’ edition, is personified by artists like Ivorian singer Tiken Jah Fakoly, one of the most influential, outspoken, and viral African voices. A powerful example of his impact is one of his most recent and moving performances, where he took the stage alongside a choir of 850 people to perform Plus rien ne m’étonne (‘Nothing surprises me anymore’), delivering a bold and unfiltered statement against the political and economic forces dividing African nations.

Misty in Roots holds a special place in the history of Rototom as its first ever international reggae show, brought on stage, back in February 1992. That moment helped spark a passion for reggae that still defines the festival today. A true cult band, fiercely independent and untouched by passing trends, the British collective continues to lead its ‘true to the roots’ style as it celebrates 50 years in music.

Another legendary UK reggae band, Steel Pulse, also marks its 50th anniversary and joins the line-up to deliver an electrifying set. Known for their hard-hitting, socially conscious lyrics and a stage show that breaks from traditional formats, on top of the scene from 5 decades, Steel Pulse are ready to bring another unforgettable performance to Benicàssim.

Cimarons, a pioneering band on the European reggae scene, completes this British trident. Formed in London in 1967 by Jamaican immigrants, they contributed to popularising and projecting Afro-Caribbean culture in Europe. They come to land in this 30th edition to present their new album, produced by the most respected Spanish producer on the international scene, Lone Ark (Roberto Sánchez), with a special show featuring Lone Ark himself and his four horn section. The Meditations also bring their roots reggae essence to the line-up. This summer they will perform in Spain for the first time since the arrival of Rototom to its current location in Benicàssim in 2010.

With their eclectic mix of reggae, funk and soul, the Jamaican band Third World, led by Cat Coore, returns to the festival with their top quality musical show.

The show Dub Side Of The Moon (2003), with dub versions of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon, will be staged once again by the American musicians’ collective Easy Star All-Stars on their only date in Spain.

The first artistic announcement for this 30th edition confirms, within the more contemporary style, consolidated names frem the reggae scene such as the Jamaican artist Tarrus Riley, who performs with his band, led by the saxophonist Dean Fraser; and Morgan Heritage will also take to the stage, now infused with fresh energy from the promising voice of young Jemere Morgan, who proudly carries forward the legacy of the Jamaican band. The festival welcomes Rasta artist Taj Weekes (from the island of St. Lucia), who blends reggae’s uplifting messages with a deep commitment to social activism: his organisation’s activism in helping children in the Caribbean has earned him the title of Unicef Champion for Children in his homeland. Another reggae artist with a positive message is Kumar Fyah, former vocalist of the band Raging Fyah and talented singer-songwriter, who will present his new live solo project.

The 30th edition coincides with the 15th anniversary of the arrival of Rototom Sunsplash to Spain, whose reggae scene is once again represented through a variety of styles. In addition to the Lone Ark show with Cimarons, the festival debuts the live project with band Chalart58 & The Soul Adventurers. This special premiere, led by Chalart58—producer for Manu Chao, Fermín Muguruza, and Amparanoia—will feature guest artists such as Roberto Sánchez, Matah, Sr. Wilson, Morgana Souljah, and UK singer Joe Yorke.

Lasai, a key figure of the spanish reggae and dancehall scene, joins forces with the American band Dukes of Roots for a one-of-a-kind show. The group features, among others, Congolese artist Mermans Mo Faya Mosengo from Playing for Change and Fully Fullwood, the legendary bassist of Peter Tosh.

Spanish roots reggae will be represented by the vocal trio Emeterians, celebrating 20 years of music. The incredible voices of Brother Wildman, Sister Maryjane and Maga Lion will be accompanied on stage by the Forward Ever Band and special guests. The commitment to the Spanish reggae scene is completed in this announcement with Mango Wood, a Madrid-based band whose sound is deeply inspired by late ‘60s Jamaican compositions. This 30th edition of Rototom Sunsplash include the freshest Jamaican sounds and the latest trends of the reggae scene.

Vandal, co-founder of the British sound system Kaotik, confirms his presence at the festival with his distinctive raggatek, a fusion of hardcore, jungle and reggae in constant creative evolution. The same goes for the renowned French dancehall singer Big Red, ex-member of Raggasonic and creator of the vapor-dub style.

The 2025 line-up features Joe Yorke from the UK, an independent label owner whose extraordinary vocal style has been making waves in the reggae scene; versatile Jamaican artist Nadia McAnuff, performing alongside The Ligerians; and the female French duo Mystically.

For its 30th edition, Rototom Sunsplash continues to explore musical styles connected to reggae, such as hip-hop. This is the case with Chilean artist Ana Tijoux, one of the most influential voices in Latin American hip-hop. Her work blends hip-hop, folklore, reggae, and electronica with a strong commitment to social activism, addressing topics like feminism, inequality, and human rights. Also from Chile, Movimiento Original, is one of the most influential bands on the Spanish-speaking reggae and hip-hop scene, which has redefined urban music since its origins with a message of consciousness, love, and resistance.

Representing Spain, the group Maruja Limón explores rumba mixed with dembow, electronica, salsa and pop. While the ska-rock band E.T.S. (En Tol Sarmiento), a project that continues to grow its audience through its fusion of styles and high-energy performances, will bring its unique festive, heartfelt, and dance-fueled experience to the festival. A true celebration of life.Cumbia returns to the festival, as in past editions, with French-based Argentinian artist La Yegros, also known as the queen of nu-cumbia.

One of the unique aspects of Rototom Sunsplash is the presence of its sound system areas, which enhance the festival experience integrating different cultures and aesthetics, beyond just musical styles.

The DanceHall stage is bringing the heat with Warrior Sound and Silly Walks from Germany, plus Spexdaboss from Canada, leading the charge. Joining them is a fully loaded lineup featuring Xyclone, Dunrich World Sound, Ayanna Heaven, Team Damp, Dj Pepa, Royal Marx Sound, KGS, Kings Crown, Lars Vegas, Kangaroots, Vibes Star, Dhamiano, Sicily Rebellious, Jamafrican Crew, Sicily Ribellious, GC Sound, Dancehall Madness Experience ft Docta Rythm selecta, Dj Luiz Dubs, Selecta Nesta and Iration Selecta.

The Dub Academy will once again be the ultimate gathering spot for sound system culture, welcoming Channel One, Matah, the full Moa Ambessa crew, Morgana Souljah, Roberto Sánchez ft. Benjammin & Ras Tweed, and Omega Nebula, and that is just a taste of what’s to come.

Jamkunda Stage consolidates itself as the space where you can connect with Afro-modern music, from Afrohouse to Afrobeat, Afrotrap, Afropop and Amapiano. A sonorous journey piloted by the main groups that are promoting these styles in the main cities of the country, and that will be the protagonists of each evening at Rototom, authentic immersive experiences around music. This summer, Jamkunda Stage has added the Spanish collectives Zsongo and AfroBrunch to its line-up, along with Oyofe Bissap Party and Follow the Party, as well as AfroSplash, AfroVice from Colombia and an afroset by Silly Walks from Germany.
