We’re going to supposes that most people are aware of Dumb and Dumber. One of the biggest and best loved comedies of the 1990s, Dumb and Dumber starred Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as two complete idiots who couldn’t seem to stop falling all over themselves.

The Farrelly brother movie was a blockbuster, and has become a classic in the years since its release, but did you know that it also had a cartoon associated with it? Well, it did indeed, with a show that ran from the fall of ’95 through the winter of ’96 and starred Bill Fagerbakke as Harry Dunne, and the great Matt Frewer as Lloyd Christmas.

If you’re a fan of the film, or you just dig animated comedies, then you might want to check out that show, which has just landed on digital storefronts and streaming.

For Harry and Lloyd, every day is a no-brainer! Based on the hit 1994 comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, this animated series from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon craftsmen follows the ongoing misadventures of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne as they fall into funny and funnier mishaps with their pet purple beaver, Kitty.

The apocalypse comes home

It seems as though there’s a little bit of a shift happening in Hollywood, as goes physical media, and we’re loving it. TV shows that had been previously only available digitally are getting physical launches, some of which have been out for a while.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live isn’t really in that camp, since it just arrived last year, but still, it’s notable that it’s about to see release in both digital and physical formats soon. And that release is coming up quick too, thanks to Acorn Media International.

The launch will see Rick and Michonne returning from the original TWD series, and finding one another after years apart.

Post The Walking Dead finale, lovers Rick Grimes (Lincoln) and Michonne (Gurira) have been separated for many years by an unstoppable force. Five years after being taken by the Civic Republic Military, Rick has desperately been trying to escape to find his love. Michonne too, has been travelling far and wide, while fighting horrors far worse than the dead, in her unwavering, dangerous quest to be reunited with her soulmate.

As mentioned, this is a multimedia release, and will see all episodes of the show post onto digital shops, as well as get disc-based Blu-ray and DVD launches. The latter will be getting some extras as well, with The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Preview, plus Show Me More: The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live included along with optional subtitles if you want ’em.

After a terrific theatrical run that netted Sony almost $700 million globally, Across the Spider-Verse is set to bring the continuing adventures of Miles Morales home. Fans will be able to pick up a digital copy of the movie next week, followed by disc-based versions in September.

Now, stay with me, because you might be wondering if this is the first time that The Walking Dead is hitting digital formats. Actually, you might be a little confused too, if you already have it in some form on digital platforms.

So before you get too mixed up, yes this is essentially a re-release of the award winning and fan-favorite post-apocalyptic series. This time around though, it’s available as a massive bundle, loaded with the entire 11 season run.

He found a way home

It’s finally here True Believers, today is the digital launch for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Just keep in mind that there will also be a physical release for the movie, coming up next month. But if you don’t want to wait for that, or you prefer digital, then indeed your day has arrived.

The biggest comic film in years, actually the biggest film in years (period), Spider-Man: No Way Home has indeed come home (in digital format). The new release includes the full theatrical experience, and of course a bevy of extras.

Included in those are the typical bloopers, as well as a bunch of featurettes. Those also include Daily Bugle stories, which are of course hit-pieces on the web-head. You expected something else from JJJ?

As you’ll see in the listing below though, while the digital launch covers everything included with the Blu Ray and 4K releases, the DVD will be pretty stripped down. So if you have your choice, you might want to go with one of the former formats, and skip the latter.

It’s a long year

I’m a pretty big Batman fan, so it’s with a good deal of excitement that I get to talk about Batman: The Long Halloween. If you haven’t read the original story, I can’t recommend it any more highly. It’s a phenomenal tale, one that follows a younger version of the Dark Knight as he tracks a killer nicknamed Holiday.

Along the way, Batman will come across a series of his own villains, the organized crime that runs his city, and even witness the origin of one of his greatest foes. It’s twisting, it’s turning, and it’s from the A+ creative team of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. And now, we have a first look at the small screen adaptation.

Coming to home video in June, Batman: The Long Halloween will bring the famed story to life, though it’ll do so without the super-stylized Tim Sale art style. Honestly, that’s probably for the best, as Sale’s work is likely not the best suited for animation.

As to how much of the lengthy Long Halloween will actually be making it to film too, we don’t know. But so far it’s both sounding and looking great. Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles played the title hero, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, the legendary Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, and loads of others. Sadly, Naya Rivera plays the part of Catwoman/Selena Kyle. the actress passed away last year, so this is one of her final roles.

Sale of X

This isn’t being billed as an ‘Easter sale’ really, but the timing is kind of interesting nonetheless. This is a season of rebirth, and Dawn of X/Powers of X are in line with that. It served as a soft-reboot for Marvel’s mutants.

The X-Men had been securely on the back-burner for years at Marvel. Sure, they had events here and there. Thing is, they all seemed to go by without much ado, and weren’t all that impactful.

In 2019 though, that all changed with the arrival of Jonathan Hickman. The all-star writer reinvigorated the brand with his introductory series’ Powers of X and Dawn of X. Those led into a full spread of series’. And some of those were rebirths for legacy books like X-Force New Mutants and Excalibur.

You know it, you love it, and now Die Hard is officially a Christmas movie… well it is according to Fox anyway. And really, they’d know since they’re the studio behind the series.

In addition to the new packaging you see here, Fox is also re-presenting all five Die Hard films in 4K this holiday season. Even the ones that don’t take place during the jolliest time of year.

The films are out right now, in both digital and physical Blu_Ray formats, just in time for Christmas. What makes a better gift for that action movie fan on your list, than three of the greatest action films (and the other two) of all time?

Dealsiders

This is a pretty sharp bundle. Well, it is if you’re a new Darksiders fan anyway. Or maybe if you played the original games, but neglected trying out the remastered editions that came out a few years ago. Either way, it’s a good deal.

Darksiders III is, of course, coming out this month. There are a bunch of physical and digital versions for you to pick up, but one has a pretty solid advantage against the others. If you’re not averse to digital games, then you might want to grab the Darksiders III: Blades & Whip Edition from the Microsoft Store.

Pre-ordering that version gets you a 10% discount, exclusive armor set, and a 24 hour head start over everyone else with an early release. But that’s not all. You’ll also get both Darksiders: Warmastered and Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition for free. That’s both of the remasters for the previous two games in the set.

Unfortunately, there is a little bit of a bummer to be had too. You won’t actually be able to play the free games will November 26th, which is Darksiders III’s release date. So it’s not like you can play through both of them before you dive into III, which would have been ideal. Though, if you’re a GamesPass subscriber you can do that anyway, so maybe it’s not such a big deal after all. Both titles are currently included with that paid service.

If not though, the Blades & Whip Edition is still a very valid option to get yourself at least two (maybe three) great games. It’ll run you $89.99 USD and is available here.

Digital ops

Digital gaming is a big part of video games these days, though it seems as though “dominance” rolls back and forth. Sometimes digital sales are up, and sometimes physical are. There’s little debate as to what the numbers Activision released today mean however. First, Black Ops 4 is a hit, and second it’s a digital mega-hit.

As mentioned above by Rob Kontich, the game has broken records for Activision. It is now the “biggest day one digital release” in the company’s history. That’s not to mention that it’s now also the best-selling Activision title on the Xbox One. Then you can add to that that it has also toppled yet another record on the PlayStation. Black Ops 4 has taken the crown for day one digital sales on the PlayStation 4. So there’s a nice little triple-score for the publisher.

Digital downloads of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 are based on unit sell-through on the first day of availability worldwide.  Largest day one digital sales in Activision history based on combined console and PC units sold through on the first day of availability worldwide. Largest day one digital full game sales on PlayStation Store according to PlayStation. Largest Activision Xbox One digital game sales in Activision’s history based on Activision sales data.

None of this is totally unexpected of course. Call of Duty sells well no matter the installment, and this year’s was building in terms of excitement since it was announced. So big sales were kind of expected. This though, seems to be a little notch above.

There’s no word on what the physical edition sales might be,, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now in all forms.
