I have been using the Sony Smartwatch 3 for many years. It also works with xDrip without the phone for the Dexcom G7. The thing I like most about the Sony is the transflective display. When working standalone the watch has the perfect underwater display without any backlite.

I’m looking into swapping the volume know into a rotary encoder with push button and light function combining the power button and LED, and RCA out from the new control pod (using spare pins on the D-Sub if I have to with a small harness adaption down by the sub) so that I can run hidden cables underneath my desk. That way there is only one, big cable from the sub that is replaceable, moving at any time.

I find it more useful to have one singular D-sub cable between the sub and the control pod that can be replaced with length and age over what is stuck today. Also it makes it less dangerous when using a sit/stand desk to not put strain on the connections at the back of the aging sub. I wonder and ask because I have noticed crackling on the satellites and the volume knob, so I went down a rabbit hole I wasn’t expecting.

I need to replace both the volume and bass potentiometers on my original remote.

Could you tell me for sure where to get them on Airexpress?

I understand they’re both 10K, 6-pin potentiometers, except the bass one has a center detent.

It鈥檚 December 25, 2025 2:30am in the morning and I鈥檓 so glad I found this thoughtful and thorough post!!! I found the straight black metal blade on the right side and totally missed the actual flame sensor on the left side. The flame sensor is a L shaped metal rod. Cleaned it up with sandpaper and heat is back on. The kids and rest of the family will wake up none the wiser. Thank you!

im stuck on trying to take the thing apart though. how do you loosen the awful little flat nut that holds the volume wheel to the top of the case?
