In reply to Chris. You did an incredible job, especially with the round tower reminiscent of Ireland. Francis O'Neill's great grand-daughter assured me this was the site where he lived. There is a picture from the front hall that she published in her book on his life.

The photo above is actually a modern building designed by Pappageorge Haymes and built in 2007. I was the project manager and designed the facility specifically for the Ronald McDonald House. I take it as a compliment that you thought the building was an original manor home, as it was certainly designed to blend into the Hyde Park neighborhood!

In reply to Elmer Velasquez Jr. Thanks for the update, Elmer! I did not get a chance to go inside when I was researching the book a few years back. Good to hear it is still going strong. My family did stay at the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa city when my son was a baby and will always be grateful for their support. It really is a great cause.
