i am a passionate devotee’ of Mr. Robert Train Adams’s work at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Orinda. This is based on one or two experiences singing in the August choir (open to the public) five or more years ago. We sang “A Mighty Fortress is Our God… with a College kid from the Parish playing a trumpet voluntary. It was fantastic, and i am a pretty good judge as a veteran guest at St. JOHN’S Episcopal son Gouldin Dr. in Montclair district in the Oakland Hills off Thornhill Dr. in Montclair.

Mr. Adams was very patient in explaining to me the essence of what the trumpet volunatyr is all about from a musicological perspective, and etc. Now the thrill is gone, temporarily, but I am hoping to make a comeback. We’ll see.. Sid Hancock, 2-2-2020
