Wedding of Caroline & Matthias      Cache   Translate Page

One of the perks of being a photographer is that it takes you places. After two years of cris-crossing the country, Flanders holds little secrets to iso800. “Do you guys do weddings in Kortrijk/Maaseik/Oostende?” Why, yes, we do!

And then we met Caroline & Matthias. Living in Hove – snugly situated in between these two photographers – they decided to take their wedding, along with 150 friends and family members, 1000km south into the Dordogne region.
And we were asked to come along.
And how happy we are that we decided to take the route du soleil down south.

Festivities were started in fine style with a balmy evening toast at Sarlat. However, nothing could prepare these two wedding photographers for the setting, location and atmosphere of Caroline & Matthias' big day. A wedding in the Medieval chappel of Beynac overlooking the Dordogne and an evening in a true Chateau (including, of course, rose garden, a million dollar view and hot air balloons): with our mouths wide open and our fingers on the shutter button, we underwent this rollercoaster of a day. Sometimes, all a photographer has to do is be there.

But, even greater than the overwhelming visuals was the warmth we received on the 5th through 7thof July. That there would be a connection between this couple and us was clear from the get-go. Thanks to a steel bleu sky and 30° but more importantly Caroline, Matthias and their friends and family who gave us the feeling that we there not only to take pictures, we didn't have time to feel homesick. Overzealous guests with cameras, that's how we felt.

So, ask us “Do you guys do weddings in Mauritius?” and we say without hesitation: Why, yes we do!

Congratulations Caroline & Matthias

Couples celebrate V-Day away from city's din      Cache   Translate Page
14 Feb 2010 JAIPUR: This Valentine’s Day most couples in the Pink City will be travelling out to celebrate the day away from the hustle and bustle. It’s been a welcome weekend for travel agents who are walking all the way to the bank. “All the major locations in the state are booked, and even places on their route are packed. Jaipurites who prefer to venture out of the state are travelling to Goa, Nepal and Mauritius,” says Manoj Sorani, president, Travel Agent Association of India, Rajasthan Chapter.
Not just that there is another reason for the love birds to travel, not much is happening in the city as pubs, lounges and hotels stay away from celebrations. A lounge bar owner says, “We are not decking up our place, nor are we calling any DJ from outside. It will be a peaceful evening for our regular guests.” To that the manager of another leading five-star hotel says, “We too are staying away from lavish celebrations.” Ask them the reason and they say in unison, “First reason is that people are travelling out and second is going by the spate of unfortunate events why take a chance. Guests who walk in on Valentine’s Day will get the best treatment is what we can assure.”
A claim is that V-Day celebrations aren’t extra profit making venture this time as it falls on a Sunday, usual party day for the city. “Had it been any other day we would have thought about making it lavish, but this time there won’t be any added return,” says the manager of the five star hotel.
At the Golden Tulip, they are celebrating ‘Two 2 Tango’ theme and even offering a Club Class ticket for a couple to watch MNIK at a leading cinema hall. “People might be refraining, but we believe it’s time to celebrate love and have added an extra day to it. We have kept the price reasonable to ensure that people walk in with their loved ones and in Rs 1,500 per couple inclusive of taxes we offer food and drinks,” says Sujan Ganguly of Golden Tulip.
Despite the club owners giving V-Day a miss the florists and gift shop owners are busy. “Combination of cakes and roses is doing well and an average order is for Rs. 500. It’s been good so far and the big push will come on Sunday,” says Renu Gupta, who has a floral shop in Malviya Nagar.

Patrick Pacheco Hosts Premiere Of “Theater: All The Moving Parts” Streaming On CUNY TV      Cache   Translate Page

The television station of the City University of New York (CUNY TV) is proud to announce the launch of a new monthly theater interview program, THEATER: All the Moving Parts. The show, hosted by veteran journalist and commentator Patrick Pacheco, will debut on March 15, 2019, at 9:30 pm with Theresa Rebeck ("Downstairs", "Bernhardt/Hamlet") as the inaugural guest. It will also be streaming at so that anyone can watch it online.

THEATER: All the Moving Parts will feature in-depth interviews with myriad artists, including directors, choreographers, writers, designers, composers, and others - all the often unheralded professionals behind the scenes who are crucial to the success of any stage production. Pacheco will delve deep not only into the intricacies of craft but also elicit from his guests the personal histories and individual passions that drive their unique artistic achievements.

Says Pacheco, "I'm thrilled and honored to participate in this new program devoted to celebrating the work of bold and dedicated theater artists. The hope is that it will inspire others to bring their talents to the respective disciplines, aware of the rigorous demands and sacrifices as well as the special rewards."

In the course of the interview, Rebeck talks about the cost of being a writer, "the heartbreak, the many things can go wrong." She recalls what she once told her students: "Being a playwright will ruin your life. So if you're going to do this, then make it count. Write about something big. Make it epic. Leave blood on the floor."

Patrick Pacheco is an Emmy-winning commentator and journalist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal,, and many other periodicals. He wrote the 2009 Disney documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty and is the co-writer, with Maria Cassi, of the play, My Life with Men...and Other Animals. He is the writer and editor of the Amazon best seller American Theatre Wing, An Oral History: 100 Years, 100 Voices, 100 Million Miracles.
Theresa Rebeck, whose fourth Broadway production is the acclaimed

Other notable productions include "Mauritius," "Seminar," and "Dead Accounts," on Broadway, as well as, Off-Broadway, "The Understudy," "Bad Dates," "The Scene", "Spike Heels," and "Omnium Gatherum" (co-written), a Pulitzer Prize finalist. For television, she created and wrote the first season of "Smash," and has written "LA Law," "NYPD Blue," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" as well as many other episodes. She is a three-time novelist and has written and directed two feature films, "Trouble," with Anjelica Huston and Bill Pullman, and "Poor Behavior."
