Tefé - Para compartilhar conhecimento sobre práticas extrativistas sustentáveis nas florestas de várzea da Amazônia, o Programa de Manejo Florestal Comunitário do Instituto Mamirauá lançou mais uma edição da “Capacitação de Multiplicadores em Manejo Florestal Comunitário em Área de Várzea: Levantamento de Estoque e Exploração de Impacto Reduzido”. As aulas acontecerão entre os dias 18 de fevereiro e 2 de março, na sede do Instituto Mamirauá, em Tefé (a 523 quilômetros de Manaus), e na Reserva Mamirauá, no Estado do Amazonas. As inscrições para participar do curso começaram na segunda-feira (5) e encerrarão no próximo dia 4 de janeiro. Segundo o edital, que pode ser encontrado no site do Instituto de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Mamirauá , serão selecionados 12 participantes entre os inscritos. A lista de selecionados será divulgada pelo instituto, no dia 10 de janeiro. O curso reúne instrutores e outros profissionais atuantes no manejo dos recursos florestais em áreas de várzea para formar multiplicadores nesse tipo de atividade em comunidades da região amazônica. O projeto tem como público alvo membros de “organizações não-governamentais ou governamentais da Amazônia, que pretendem implementar ou já estejam assessorando planos de manejo florestal comunitário ou de pequena escala”, que terão prioridade no processo seletivo. Duas das vagas são direcionadas a participantes estrangeiros de países da Pan-Amazônia (Colômbia, Peru, Venezuela, Equador, Bolívia, as Guianas e o Suriname). Desde o começo de sua história, o instituto alia a pesquisa ao trabalho de extensão, para pensar estratégias que promovam o uso da vasta quantidade de recursos disponíveis na Floresta Amazônica de forma sustentável. A exploração de impacto reduzido é realizada a partir de estudos cuidadosos sobre a saúde e a recuperação das espécies vegetais com potencial madeireiro extraídas na região das florestas de várzea, do médio curso do Rio Solimões. Seguindo as pesquisas sobre o impacto da exploração, o Instituto Mamirauá, uma unidade de pesquisa do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, Inovações e Comunicações (MCTIC), trabalha prestando assessoria técnica ao manejo, realizado exclusivamente por comunidades ribeirinhas das reservas locais, que tem na atividade uma importante fonte de renda. Aulas Entre os dias 18 e 22 de fevereiro, as aulas serão ministradas na sede do Instituto Mamirauá, em Tefé. Em seguida, a turma parte para a reserva Mamirauá, onde, do dia 23 de fevereiro ao dia 3 de março, serão realizadas as práticas de campo. Os alunos terão os custos com taxa de inscrição, certificado, materiais didáticos, alojamento e alimentação cobertos pela organização da capacitação.
