Back in the 2000 decade, when I was active (and snarky) on UFO UpDates, that doyenne of bovine nastiness Wendy Connors wrote that I was the Prince of Fort Wayne, Indiana’s gay community.

Errol Bruce-Knapp, after receiving chastisements from UFO Update members, apologized and said that, somehow, Ms. Connors’ remarks slipped through his usual [fascistic] moderation.

(He called me to personally apologize for the slip-up.)

First off, I’m the Prince of nothing, then or now. Secondly, I liked the notoriety. It also brought Richard  Hall to my defense, which I appreciated.

Was I outed? Not quite. Persons know from my professional writings in magazines and the local press papers here that I’m pro-homosexual but anti-gay, and have explained the dichotomy often in various asides in my online blogs and writings.

This goes to a comment from Michael Redmond about my casting John Keel as a closet homosexual, Michael indicating how does that apparent aspersion affect Mr. Keel’s legacy and writings.

Writing a paper in college for a Psych class – A Psychiatric Dilemma or Gift from the Gods? – outlined by position about gays and homosexuals, differentiating the two along psychological parameters.

I won’t go into my explication here – that would be casting pearls before swine – but I want to make clear that being gay, or Marxist, or Trumpian, or religiously oriented, or being riddled by any other orientation affects how one comes to think and present their views if they are inclined to offer views.

Keel was outside the rampant New York gay community and not prone to give it an overt sniff, but if he was poised to be unstraight, he’d be saddled by the oppressive nature of the time and he’d have operated in a vacuum of suppressed soliloquy: forced to be homosexually repressed and a ufologist on top of that.

No wonder the man ended up mentally afflicted, or so it would seem.

A further point I’d like to make, is that my experience(s) in the UFO community have not been, generally, edifying; that is, what I get from others has been a basket of whiff and intellectual torpor.

Aside from my brief and often tempered Paul Kimball contacts, and salubrious dialogue with the academic Bryan Sentes, intermingling with UFOers hasn’t been particularly rewarding, even though I have to thank Kevin Randle, Nick Redfern, and Jose Caravaca for opening my mind to new viewpoints and other pleasures.

Without these few I’d surely think about being gay, just to obtain some interaction of a heady kind, even with its anti-natural law stigma.

Anyway, when I write that John Keel may have been homosexual, that’s not a slur by me but an inducement to help understand one reason why he slipped into apparent dementia.

Why even Wendy Connors attempt to nail me made some UFO Updaters crazy; not me or Richard Hall (and a few others) but a motley crew of heterosexual pretenders.

So tread carefully here when you think you understand my position about anything, lest you be clods….

N.B. Take a gander at Paul Kimball’s Other Side of Truth offerings in the UpDates time-frame; it will show you why I often laud the guy:
