Oct 13, 2018: Imagine Science Film Festival @ The New School at Various locations, see description      Cache   Translate Page

The 11th Annual Imagine Science Film Festival will take place across New York City from October 12-19, 2018. The Imagine Science Film Festival (ISFF) was created in the hybridization of art and science, mixing subjects, genres, and even fact and fiction. The theme of this year’s festival is SURVIVAL. We invite you to explore those topics that place the planet in crisis: nuclear arms proliferation, climate change, air pollution, dwindling resources, and loss of biodiversity. The festival will traverse the tumultuous natural history and startling feats of adaptation from cell death to immortal cell lines, half-lives to radical life extension, and the birth and death of stars in the cosmos.

Eugene Lang College will host lab workshops, film screenings, panels, and Q & A with filmmakers on October 13-14. Over the course of the week, other events will take place across the city, and we encourage you to review the entire schedule and to reserve tickets via their links to Eventbrite.

Events on The New School campus will be free for New School students with code ISFF11NEW but students must register on ISFF's Eventbrite and present their ID on site at film screenings. Most events at other locations will be available to students at discounts with code ISFF11STUDENT (prices for these venues will range from $8.00-$18.00 per event, excluding the following venues which do not provide discounts: Rubin Museum, AMNH, Caveat, Littlefield, UnionDocs).

Programming on The New School Campus is listed below. Each film screening will be followed by a 30-minute panel discussion with New School faculty, scientists, and filmmakers.

Saturday October 13 and Sunday October 14:
Imagine Science Lab Workshop: Survival and Essential Drugs
University Center Science Labs, Room 618, 63 5th Avenue
The University Science Labs is hosting a Science+Art+Design Lab workshop focused on the rise of antibiotic resistance in our urban communities. Short Film Program: Life Lines

Short Film Program: Interspecies Love Song
3:00 PM
Kellen Auditorium, 1st floor, 66 5th Avenue

L'invention des corps

Pierre Ducrozet
