Het gaat om twee zogenaamde mini-Neptunessen. De nieuw ontdekte exoplaneten dragen de aanduiding EPIC 211964830b en c, beide planeten zijn zogenaamde mini-Neptunessen – gasplaneten die kleiner zijn dan de planeten Uranus en Neptunus in ons eigen zonnestelsel. De binnenste planeet heeft een straal van ongeveer 2,3 * de Aarde en de buitenste planeet heeft een straal van 2,8 * de Aarde. De draaien met een periode van 5,8 respectievelijk 19,7 dagen in een hele nauwe baan om hun ster heen. De ster met de aanduiding EPIC 211964830 is een rode dwerg die een straal en een massa van ongeveer 47% van de Zon heeft. De ster bevindt zich aan de rand van de centrale kern van de open sterrenhoop M44 (ook bekend als NGC 2632 en Praesepe de Kribbe). Dit is een compacte open sterrenhoop bestaande uit ongeveer 1000 sterren. De sterrenhoop is ongeveer 550 lichtjaar van ons verwijderd en is zichtbaar in het sterrenbeeld Kreeft – Cancer.
