Meya Mwita ameipongeza Taasisi ya Huduma za Afya Aga Khan Tanzania kwa kuamua kuwekeza katika Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam hususani sekta ya Afya ambapo bado changamoto ni nyingi jijini hapa pamoja na nchi nzima.

Aidha Meya Mwita amefarijika kuona hosipitali hiyo imewekeza katika vifaa tiba vya kisasa zaidi kuwemo nchini pamoja na uwepo wa Watanzania wengi katika eneo la utoaji huduma za viwango vya juu kabisa Tanzania.

Kwaupande wake Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Taasisi za Huduma za Afya Aga Khan Kanda ya Afrika Mashariki Sulaiman Shahabuddin amemshukuru Meya Mwita kwa kutenga muda wake na kutembelea hospitali hiyo.

"Il mondo è un posto meraviglioso. Gli esseri umani sono per la maggior parte gentili, solo a tratti egoisti e miopi". Questo il pensiero del sognatore di Washington Jay Austin, che sulla soglia dei 30 anni aveva deciso di intraprendere un avventuroso giro in mountain bike insieme alla fidanzata Lauren Geoghegan, ma il suo sogno non ha potuto realizzarsi fino alla fine.

Come riporta il Corriere, la giovane coppia è caduta vittima di un agguato dell'Isis: i due sono stati prima investiti da un'auto lanciata contro di loro in Tagikistan, poi aggrediti a colpi di coltellate e di fucile.

Eppure, fino all'ultimo giorno della propria vita, Jay aveva sostenuto la sua tesi che il male fosse un concetto inventato e da ciò era derivata la sua decisione di licenziarsi dal lavoro per dedicarsi interamente alla passione del viaggio.

Da tempo Jay viveva in una casa "minimal" di 13 metri quadri e dal lavoro preferiva ottenere più tempo libero che soldi, inseguiva "le albe, i temporali, le brezze gentili che mi sono perso in questi anni". A spingerlo a cambiare vita ci avrebbe pensato un potente carburante: l'amore. Quello più materiale per la bici, e uno più profondo per la ragazza che l'aveva stregato ai tempi dell'università e che sarebbe partita con lui.

Anche Lauren si era fatta travolgere dal sentimento per Jay, che aveva deciso di seguire in ogni sua scelta.

Accanto al fidanzato vegano era diventata vegetariana e si era appassionata anche lei alla bici. Aveva cominciato ad andarci in ufficio, qualche gita fuori città, fino alla prova finale, un mese in sella tra le valli islandesi: sì, erano pronti per il grande salto. "C'è della magia là fuori, in questo grande e bellissimo mondo": era così che lo vedeva Jay, l'uomo che Lauren descriveva alle amiche come "avventuroso, fuori dagli schemi, quello che mi mette in discussione per crescere".

Un viaggio, quello che i due ragazzi avevano intrapreso insieme da un anno, pieno di incontri di persone ospitali, generose, pronte al dialogo con l'altro, in un'ottica del dono e dell'accoglienza.

Eppure, in quell'esperienza avventurosa ai giovani non erano mancate le difficoltà:

la pioggia battente, il caldo asfissiante, le gomme bucate, le cadute e le ustioni, la malaria di lui in Malawi, l'infezione all'orecchio di lei in Francia. E pure i (rari) incontri spiacevoli con chi aveva tentato di derubarli. Incidenti di un percorso fra 24 Paesi e tre continenti, dal Sudafrica allo Zambia, dalla Spagna alla Bulgaria.

Ma come tutti i sogni, anche il loro era destinato a finire. Mentre attraversavano felici una strada sterrata di Danghara, i due sono caduti vittime dell'attacco dell'Isis. Il gruppo di terroristi ha colpito a coltellate e a fucilate Jay, Lauren e i cinque europei che viaggiavano affianco dei due sognatori.
