Российскую ракету-носитель «Ангара-А5В» можно сделать многоразовой, заявил генеральный конструктор средств выведения, идеолог ракет семейства «Ангара» Александр Медведев.

«Конкретные предложения заключаются в спасении всей связки ускорителей первой и второй ступеней с помощью ракетно-динамического способа при использовании ракет-носителей «Ангара-А5В» и «Ангара-А3В»,  передает РИА «Новости» слова Медведева со ссылкой на журнал ЦНИИмаш «Космонавтика и ракетостроение».

По предложению Медведева, после старта четыре боковых блока первой ступени и центральный блок второй ступени без разделения друг от друга продолжат лететь до момента отделения от них третьей ступени с космическим аппаратом.

После этого третья ступень продолжит полет по своей программе, а связка из первой и второй ступеней выдаст тормозной импульс, развернется и полетит двигателями вниз. Перед посадкой центральный блок включит двигатель на торможение и ракета «сядет» на выдвижные опоры по аналогии с ракетой Falcon 9 от SpaceX.

Медведев отметил, что создание многоразовый версии «Ангары» потребует ее переделки, дооснащения носителя посадочными опорами, системой управления при посадке и дополнительными системами теплозащиты, что увеличит массу ракеты на 12%.

Кроме того, само возвращение ракеты потребует около 7% от общих объемов топлива. При этом многоразовая «Ангара-А5В» сможет выводить с космодрома Восточный 26-27 тонн, вместо 37 тонн в одноразовом варианте.

«Сажать» ракету предлагается на плавучую платформу в Охотском море в 1 тыс. 360 километрах от космодрома.

«После приземления на посадочную площадку, расположенную по направлению трассы, связка ускорителей проходит первичное послеполетное обслуживание, а затем транспортируется в район космодрома Восточный для ее подготовки к следующему пуску», – утверждается в статье.

По мнению автора проекта, благодаря многоразовости, стоимость выведения груза с помощью «Ангары» на низкую орбиту может снизиться на 33-37% по сравнению с одноразовым пуском, а на геостационарную орбиту на 22-27%.

Напомним, ранее сообщалось, что первый летный образец новой российской сверхтяжелой ракеты будет обладать облегченной грузоподъемностью из-за использования трех, а не пяти ракетных модулей на первой-второй ступенях.

В июне 2017 года сообщалось о начале разработки водородного двигателя для ракеты-носителя повышенной грузоподъемности «Ангара-А5В», который также будет использован на сверхтяжелой ракете-носителе «Энергия-5».

В авгуссте 2017 года  и.о. гендиректора Космического центра им. Хруничева Алексей Варочко заявил, что создание водородных технологий для ракеты-носителя повышенной грузоподъемности «Ангара-А5В» «в железе» начнется после 2025 года.

Karen Vail and her colleague Alexandra Rusakov will have to find the mole and destroy the spy ring that planted malware on the ships that are now headed for the Moon. To complicate matters Hector’s father is kidnapped and will be used as leverage. The author likes to venture out and write new stories. His last book, Darkness of Evil, and his next book will delve into serial killers. “As a writer, I want to keep fresh and different. I want to challenge my characters and myself to acclimate to new environments. Karen Vail has been to Paris, England, and Spain maneuvering through the different cultures, places, laws, and law enforcement. I think this current book about moon elements is extremely relevant. Space can help with our military readiness that includes determining logistics. We need to maintain our superiority in space and should applaud our President’s efforts to reinvigorate our space program. We need a moon base to collect natural resources and use it as a spring board to get to another planet.” Space is coming to the forefront once again. This believable story shows the importance of America keeping its space superiority. It also highlights how Karen Vail must maneuver through lies, betrayals, and disloyalties to find the culprits.

Elon Musk yesterday sent the tweet heard round the Street:

Bottom line: Only Elon Musk knows the full story here, and he isn't being very transparent with his shareholders, employees or us in the media. That's why shares today will open below $400, let alone below $420. The skepticism is on him, and will persist until he answers some pretty basic questions.


Lots to break down here:

"Am considering taking Tesla private at $420."

It's not really surprising that Musk would want to take Tesla private, given how prickly he can get when bank analysts question the company's performance. And there's always the standby argument about how long-term, strategic planning is easier at a private company than at a public one.

  • As for the $420 per share — that tracks fairly close to the market-standard 20% premium, even though it also tracks exactly to cannabis market slang.

"Funding secured."

This is where it gets really interesting. For starters, Musk doesn't identify the funders — neither in his tweet, nor in a follow-up blog post.

And multiple sources tell me it's none of the usual suspects on the debt side (i.e., big Wall Street banks). Nor many on the equity side, such as big strategics (not Apple or Uber), private equity (not KKR, Mithril, Silver Lake, TPG, etc.) nor deeper financial pockets (not SoftBank or Mubadala).

  • One big wildcard remains the Saudis, particularly since Musk's tweet came shortly after an FT report that a Saudi fund had acquired a $2 billion position in Tesla, and because the Saudis have major interest in solar energy.

No other reporter so far has managed to find any of Musk's financing partners either. Or perhaps I should say his supposed financing partners. Because...

Regulatory ruin

If Musk didn't actually have enough funding secured when he tweeted, then the SEC should come down on him like a bag of batteries. And the shorts will create a full employment act for plaintiffs' lawyers.

Companies are allowed to disclose material information via social media, but disclosing false or misleading information remains off-limits. The first part of Musk's tweet was aspirational, but the second part was factual.

Security concerns

If Musk is getting financing from a non-U.S. actor like the Saudis, expect any deal to undergo a CFIUS review. Not so much because Tesla makes connected cars or residential solar panels, but more because it's involved in utility-scale energy efforts. I'd also think the current trade tensions would eliminate any Chinese tech company from contention.

Precedent

There is none for buyout-by-tweet, but lots of folks have been comparing Musk's efforts to those of Michael Dell in 2013. But there are a lot of big differences:

  • Dell didn't publicly ponder an acquisition. He made a formal, detailed offer that named private equity and lending partners. And this led to the company forming a special committee, which hasn't happened yet at Tesla (although members of the board just said that Musk first broached the topic with them last week).
  • Dell didn't push himself to meet his quarterly number right before the takeover attempt, thus driving up the price.
  • Dell didn't offer to let existing shareholders roll over their equity (more on that in a minute), nor was there widespread belief that his company would need a subsequent cash infusion.

Structure

At $420 per share, Tesla's equity would be valued at $71.6 billion and its overall enterprise value would be around $85 billion (including debt). Musk currently holds a 19.87% equity stake, which means he'd theoretically need around $57 billion in financing. But Musk also wants to let existing shareholders roll over —maybe into a Fidelity-run special purpose vehicle, like exits has for the never-public SpaceX — so his ultimate needs could be much less.

  • It's worth noting that Musk reportedly didn't gauge major shareholder interest prior to his tweet, so the SEC should hold him to the full $57 billion when judging "funding secured."

  • Elon Musk's plan to take Tesla private has generated a lot of buzz, and it has been met with a lot of skepticism
  • But there are several reasons why he might actually be able to pull off the deal.
  • He's got a few things going for him, including a market with mountains of uninvested cash, an army of believers, and ties to some massive backers that could help him make his plan a reality. 

Since setting Wall Street ablaze on Tuesday with an unexpected tweet about taking his car company Tesla private, Elon Musk has been met with a healthy dose of skepticism over his proposed plan as well as his unconventional method of announcing it. 

Analysts are taking Musk at his word that he has indeed secured funding, has investor support, and is seriously considering taking the company private — he could face serious legal consequences if he wasn't entirely truthful. But many nonetheless find the $420 a share price tag he's floated exceptionally high given that Tesla ended trading on Wednesday at $370.34 a share.

It would be the largest buyout of all time and would require gargantuan amounts of capital to complete at the more than $70 billion valuation implied by Musk's tweet. The company would need roughly $57 billion in committed financing to buy up the 80% of the company Musk doesn't own, according to Goldman Sachs estimates. 

"We don't believe the current fundamentals of Tesla support a valuation anywhere close to $420 per share," Cowen analyst Jeffrey Osborne said. He set a price target of $200.

Colin Langan at UBS set a target of $195, taking an even more dubious view: "Disclosing news of this nature via Twitter is unprecedented and, according to a former SEC chairman, may constitute fraud if Tesla does not already have the financing lined up.

"The deal would likely require participation from numerous banks and institutional investors, and we think it likely that news of the deal would have leaked had Tesla already held discussions to secure funding," Langan added.

In short, the skepticism around Musk's proposed deal is abundant.

So let's focus instead on a couple reasons why he might actually be able to pull it off.

Lots of capital sloshing around

Musk's take-private of Tesla would be unprecedented. 

But so is the amount of capital available for investment right now — a byproduct of the ultra-low interest rate environment the decade following the financial crisis.

Private equity shops having been accumulating record amounts of dry powder as funding remains plentiful while smart deals are comparatively scarce. Pitchbook estimated in March that PE funds had amassed nearly a trillion in undeployed funds.  

Sovereign wealth funds and other large backers, such as Japanese investor SoftBank, have billions in cash to throw around and the appetite to do so, too. 

A market ripe with cash looking to be invested is ideal for Tesla's charismatic leader.

"Right now there is so much money sloshing around the system that has no place to go," Rita McGrath, a professor at Columbia Business School, told Business Insider.

As McGrath sees it, there are two types of Tesla investors: Those who view the company as just another car company, akin to Ford or General Motors. These tend to be the skeptics.

Then there are those who believe the company is on the cutting edge of batteries, energy transmission, and renewable energy and that "owning Tesla is a front-seat ticket to whatever the future holds."

An investment like Musk is seeking would carry a lot of risk given the rich price tag, but for those in the latter camp who believe Tesla offers incredible upside, that may be a bet worth making "if you've got nothing else to do with that cash."

Forget about the debt

Many have pointed out that the math on a leveraged buyout for Tesla looks dicey. The company doesn't generate enough free cash flow to justify massive amounts of additional debt burden, which would create crushing interest payments for company. 

Given the cash-flow pressures and the ongoing Model 3 ramp-up, "adding as much as $50 billion of net debt to the capital structure would clearly intensify the outcomes of such an action," Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote. 

"Given Tesla's financials, we don’t believe lenders would sign up to support the deal," RBC's Joseph Spak added. 

But people shouldn't be viewing this as a potential LBO, according to David Erickson, a lecturer at the Wharton School.

The deal would instead be a debt-light transaction focused on converting existing public shareholders into private shareholders, and then raising enough additional equity to cash out the shareholders that want to exit.

"What it would have to be, predominantly, is an equity take out," said Erickson, who spent 25 years on Wall Street, including several years as the global co-head of equity capital markets at Barclays. "They would have to come up with enough cash to monetize whoever doesn’t want to stay in. Most of that I would assume would be equity related." 

Getting a large chunk of existing shareholders to convert isn't that far-fetched. Large mutual funds have grown increasingly willing to invest in promising private companies.

As Musk himself has pointed out, Fidelity, the third-largest Tesla shareholder with an 8% stake, has already invested in private tech companies, including the likes Uber, Blue Apron, and his own SpaceX. 

T. Rowe Price, the second-largest shareholder with a 9% stake, has as well.

While funds that hold Tesla stock in their publicly traded indexes would be different, they could potentially cash out and shift their investment to a different arm of the company. 

The unknowable question at this point is how many shareholders would want to exit, and how much Tesla would need to raise to cash them out. 

"Let’s assume $20 billion is required. Is there somebody going to write equity checks for $20 billion?" Erickson asked, noting that Japanese investor SoftBank could be a possibility, as could a sovereign wealth fund.  

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son held talks with Musk about a potential investment in 2017, though a deal failed to materialize and discussions are no longer active, Bloomberg reported Wednesday

Musk has assured us the funding has been secured.

And it's quite possible it has. 

Don't sleep on the Saudis

Who has that kind of money laying around?

As previously mentioned, private equity funds have mammoth amounts of capital to deploy. However, they tend to prefer companies that already generate gobs of cash rather than those that are still rapidly burning it as they carve out a business model. 

A large private investor or a sovereign wealth fund are considered more likely candidates, with many suggesting the aforementioned SoftBank and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia as potential suitors.

The Saudis could make for a particularly good fit.

Under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the country has been trying to reduce its dependence on its vast oil reserves and diversify its income streams. The much ballyhooed initial public offering of state oil giant Saudi Aramco has yet to materialize as a solution.

"The Saudi angle is interesting to me. Their existential problem is their whole economy is based on oil," McGrath said.

Tesla's rich price could seem justifiable to the Saudis if they believe Tesla isn't just car company, but rather a bet on the future that hedges their oil riches with a "window into batteries and renewable energy," McGrath said. 

And there's evidence that of the two types of Tesla investors that McGrath highlights, the Saudis are Musk believers: The Financial Times reported Tuesday that the Saudi sovereign wealth fund had acquired a nearly 5% stake in Tesla. 

Would they be willing add substantially to that stake? Or would several other large players need to step up as well?

Musk has a great track record of wooing big investors to back his projects. Even so, it still won't be easy. 

"He'll have to convince an awful lot of people with very deep pockets," McGrath said.

e签宝方面认为,本次战略合作意义重大。对于阿里云来说,提升了其平台协议签订的高效性与合规性;对于阿里云的用户来说,不仅能方便轻松的下载电子合同,签署后的合同可以在线上有效保存并在需要维权时,也能拿出有法律效力的电子合同进行申诉;对于第三方入驻平台来说,减少了合同来回快递环节,着实降低了一大笔成本。

蚂蚁金服与马来西亚支付服务提供商TnG达成战略合作

美国当地时间8月7日下午,特斯拉CEO埃隆·马斯克在Twitter上发布了一条爆炸性消息:特斯拉可能会以每股420美元的价格私有化,而且用于私有化的资金已有保证。

随后,马斯克发给员工的内部邮件也被曝出,他在邮件中详细地阐述了其想要退出股票市场的原因:提高公司运营效率,避免“短视思维”对员工和投资人的干扰,有利于减少公司在实现长期战略道路上的阻碍。

实际上,还有一个优势,马斯克并未对外透露:一旦退市,大量的核心业务和信息不再需要对外公开,有利于保护商业机密,增加公司在行业中的竞争优势。

马斯克还在邮件中透露,当公司利润实现低速、有预期的增长后,仍可能回归股市。

当然,以上只是马斯克和部分股东的计划,股东们还未就此项计划进行任何表决。特斯拉未来是否会私有化、私有化的最终金额等问题还需要一段时间才能正式透露。当然,据亿欧汽车分析,收购资金远未达到传闻的720亿美元,甚至达不到部分机构预计的560亿美元。

流通股本仅为1.21亿股

如果该计划最终通过,这将会是史上规模最大的杠杆收购,超过2007年私人财团以450亿美元收购得克萨斯州能源巨头TXU的交易规模。

消息发布后不久,特斯拉股价大幅上涨。截止8月7日收盘,特斯拉股价实现上涨10.99%至379.57美元。实际上,这样的涨幅相当常见。几乎所有的公司在宣布退市之后,股价几乎都会涨至收购价格的90%左右,其中就包括此前退市的中国企业分众传媒和奇虎360。按照以往的情况,在确定退市之前,特斯拉的股价预计不会再有大幅度上涨的情况。

如果最终收购价格确定为每股420美元,特斯的估值将达到718.2亿美元。由于马斯克自己持有约22%股份,所以有机构预计,特斯拉需要筹集560.2亿美元资金才能最终完成退市。

实际上,特斯拉的流通股本仅为1.21亿股,不足总股本的71%,若以420美元/股计算,收购价最高为508.2亿美元,并非网传的720亿美元,也达不到部分机构预计的560亿美元。

与此同时,既然部分主要股东已经表示对马斯克退市计划的支持,他们手中的股票也就不需要“高价收购”,只需自己持有便可。也就是说,愿意支持特斯拉私有化的大股东越多,其私有化的成本也就越低。

当然,不排除有大股东对特斯拉的预期股价高于420美元,最终导致对方不愿意以该价格出售手中股份的情况。如果出现这种现象,特斯拉的收购成本会上涨多少就需要看特斯拉的手段了。

此前有消息称,马斯克与软件银行集团董事长孙正义在2017年曾就支持特斯拉私有化经过谈判,但并未取得积极进展。目前,软银已不在帮助特斯拉私有化的潜在投资者名单上,因为前者认为特斯拉估值过高,并且存在监管障碍。至于最终帮助马斯克负担这么一大笔资金的机构都有谁,目前还没有确切的消息曝出。

蔚来有点尴尬

就在特斯拉计划退市的消息曝出不久前,亿欧汽车从消息人士处得到证实,我国新造车势力蔚来将于今年9月在美提交S1文件,承销商列表包含美银美林、瑞信、花旗、德银等知名投行。

如果流程顺利,蔚来最快将于今年年底到明年一季度在纽交所上市。据悉,蔚来计划通过IPO募集到超过20亿美元的资金,最终市值或将高达370亿美元。

随着特斯拉的退市,作为一家中国新创车企的蔚来,在美国股票市场的道路恐怕将会更加艰难。按照惯例,中国公司在美上市,需要为自己找一家能够参照对标的企业,以便为投资人估值提供依据。对于蔚来来说,这家参照企业大概率将会是特斯拉。

尽管自上市至今,特斯拉股价已经累计上涨2000%,但特斯拉连续亏损、习惯性 “跳票”的传统让其在市场上的口碑实在不佳。如今,特斯拉更是计划退市,为蔚来的上市更添一分阴影。

不过尽管前途艰辛,但蔚来上市将成为2019年的大概率事件。但愿蔚来能够在美国资本市场获得成功,以便增强我国新造车势力的信心。

今天早些时候,我宣布正考虑以每股420美元的价格私有化特斯拉。我想让你知道我这样做的理由,以及为什么我认为这是最好的前进道路。

  • Elon Musk's plan to take Tesla private has generated a lot of buzz, and it has been met with a lot of skepticism
  • But there are several reasons why he might actually be able to pull off the deal.
  • He's got a few things going for him, including a market with mountains of uninvested cash, an army of believers, and ties to some massive backers that could help him make his plan a reality. 

Since setting Wall Street ablaze on Tuesday with an unexpected tweet about taking his car company Tesla private, Elon Musk has been met with a healthy dose of skepticism over his proposed plan as well as his unconventional method of announcing it. 

Analysts are taking Musk at his word that he has indeed secured funding, has investor support, and is seriously considering taking the company private — he could face serious legal consequences if he wasn't entirely truthful. But many nonetheless find the $420 a share price tag he's floated exceptionally high given that Tesla ended trading on Wednesday at $370.34 a share.

It would be the largest buyout of all time and would require gargantuan amounts of capital to complete at the more than $70 billion valuation implied by Musk's tweet. The company would need roughly $57 billion in committed financing to buy up the 80% of the company Musk doesn't own, according to Goldman Sachs estimates. 

"We don't believe the current fundamentals of Tesla support a valuation anywhere close to $420 per share," Cowen analyst Jeffrey Osborne said. He set a price target of $200.

Colin Langan at UBS set a target of $195, taking an even more dubious view: "Disclosing news of this nature via Twitter is unprecedented and, according to a former SEC chairman, may constitute fraud if Tesla does not already have the financing lined up.

"The deal would likely require participation from numerous banks and institutional investors, and we think it likely that news of the deal would have leaked had Tesla already held discussions to secure funding," Langan added.

In short, the skepticism around Musk's proposed deal is abundant.

So let's focus instead on a couple reasons why he might actually be able to pull it off.

Lots of capital sloshing around

Musk's take-private of Tesla would be unprecedented. 

But so is the amount of capital available for investment right now — a byproduct of the ultra-low interest rate environment the decade following the financial crisis.

Private equity shops having been accumulating record amounts of dry powder as funding remains plentiful while smart deals are comparatively scarce. Pitchbook estimated in March that PE funds had amassed nearly a trillion in undeployed funds.  

Sovereign wealth funds and other large backers, such as Japanese investor SoftBank, have billions in cash to throw around and the appetite to do so, too. 

A market ripe with cash looking to be invested is ideal for Tesla's charismatic leader.

"Right now there is so much money sloshing around the system that has no place to go," Rita McGrath, a professor at Columbia Business School, told Business Insider.

As McGrath sees it, there are two types of Tesla investors: Those who view the company as just another car company, akin to Ford or General Motors. These tend to be the skeptics.

Then there are those who believe the company is on the cutting edge of batteries, energy transmission, and renewable energy and that "owning Tesla is a front-seat ticket to whatever the future holds."

An investment like Musk is seeking would carry a lot of risk given the rich price tag, but for those in the latter camp who believe Tesla offers incredible upside, that may be a bet worth making "if you've got nothing else to do with that cash."

Forget about the debt

Many have pointed out that the math on a leveraged buyout for Tesla looks dicey. The company doesn't generate enough free cash flow to justify massive amounts of additional debt burden, which would create crushing interest payments for company. 

Given the cash-flow pressures and the ongoing Model 3 ramp-up, "adding as much as $50 billion of net debt to the capital structure would clearly intensify the outcomes of such an action," Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote. 

"Given Tesla's financials, we don’t believe lenders would sign up to support the deal," RBC's Joseph Spak added. 

But people shouldn't be viewing this as a potential LBO, according to David Erickson, a lecturer at the Wharton School.

The deal would instead be a debt-light transaction focused on converting existing public shareholders into private shareholders, and then raising enough additional equity to cash out the shareholders that want to exit.

"What it would have to be, predominantly, is an equity take out," said Erickson, who spent 25 years on Wall Street, including several years as the global co-head of equity capital markets at Barclays. "They would have to come up with enough cash to monetize whoever doesn’t want to stay in. Most of that I would assume would be equity related." 

Getting a large chunk of existing shareholders to convert isn't that far-fetched. Large mutual funds have grown increasingly willing to invest in promising private companies.

As Musk himself has pointed out, Fidelity, the third-largest Tesla shareholder with an 8% stake, has already invested in private tech companies, including the likes Uber, Blue Apron, and his own SpaceX. 

T. Rowe Price, the second-largest shareholder with a 9% stake, has as well.

While funds that hold Tesla stock in their publicly traded indexes would be different, they could potentially cash out and shift their investment to a different arm of the company. 

The unknowable question at this point is how many shareholders would want to exit, and how much Tesla would need to raise to cash them out. 

"Let’s assume $20 billion is required. Is there somebody going to write equity checks for $20 billion?" Erickson asked, noting that Japanese investor SoftBank could be a possibility, as could a sovereign wealth fund.  

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son held talks with Musk about a potential investment in 2017, though a deal failed to materialize and discussions are no longer active, Bloomberg reported Wednesday

Musk has assured us the funding has been secured.

And it's quite possible it has. 

Don't sleep on the Saudis

Who has that kind of money laying around?

As previously mentioned, private equity funds have mammoth amounts of capital to deploy. However, they tend to prefer companies that already generate gobs of cash rather than those that are still rapidly burning it as they carve out a business model. 

A large private investor or a sovereign wealth fund are considered more likely candidates, with many suggesting the aforementioned SoftBank and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia as potential suitors.

The Saudis could make for a particularly good fit.

Under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the country has been trying to reduce its dependence on its vast oil reserves and diversify its income streams. The much ballyhooed initial public offering of state oil giant Saudi Aramco has yet to materialize as a solution.

"The Saudi angle is interesting to me. Their existential problem is their whole economy is based on oil," McGrath said.

Tesla's rich price could seem justifiable to the Saudis if they believe Tesla isn't just car company, but rather a bet on the future that hedges their oil riches with a "window into batteries and renewable energy," McGrath said. 

And there's evidence that of the two types of Tesla investors that McGrath highlights, the Saudis are Musk believers: The Financial Times reported Tuesday that the Saudi sovereign wealth fund had acquired a nearly 5% stake in Tesla. 

Would they be willing add substantially to that stake? Or would several other large players need to step up as well?

Musk has a great track record of wooing big investors to back his projects. Even so, it still won't be easy. 

"He'll have to convince an awful lot of people with very deep pockets," McGrath said.

”அம்மா, இங்க வெச்சிருந்த கவரை காணோம். வதனிக்கு செய்து வெச்ச கிஃப்ட்மா அது”. மதினி கத்திக்கொண்டு இருந்தாள். அவள் தன் தோழி வதனிக்கு செய்து வைத்த பரிசுப்பொருளை காணவில்லை. மேஜை மீது தான் வைத்திருந்தாள். அம்மா அங்கே தான் இருக்கும் எனச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். கிடைக்கவில்லை. “வெள்ளை கலர் கவரா?” என்றார் அரைமணி நேரம் பிறகு. ஆமாம் என்றால் மதினி. அச்சோ அதை குப்பை தொட்டியில் போட்ட நினைவு, கீழே இருந்ததால் தேவையில்லை என நினைத்தேன் என்றார் அம்மா.

குப்பைத்தொட்டியை நோக்கி ஓடினாள் மதினி. காலியாக இருந்தது. “ஆமா, காலையில எடுத்துட்டு போயிட்டு இருப்பார் முத்து”. முத்து இவர்கள் வீட்டில் தினமும் வந்து குப்பை அள்ளும் நபர். இரண்டாவது மாடியில் இருக்கும் மதினி வீட்டிற்கு வந்து குப்பைகளை எடுத்துச்செல்வார். அரசு வேலை தான். கீழே வரும்போதே ஒரு நீண்ண்ண்ட விசில் சத்தம் வரும்.

“அவருக்கு போன் போடுங்க, என் வெள்ளை கவர் இருக்கான்னு பார்க்க சொல்லுங்க” எனச் சொன்னாள் மதினி. அதெப்படி அவ்வளவு குப்பையில் உன் கவர் கிடைக்கும் கண்ணு? அதெல்லாம் சாத்தியம் இல்லை என்றார் அம்மா. இல்லை ஃபோன் செய்யுங்க என வலியுறுத்தினாள்.

“ஹலோ முத்து, இங்க ஒரு பிரச்சனைப்பா. குப்பைகூட மதினியோட ஒரு கவரும் வந்துடுச்சாம்….ஓ…சரி சரி..ஓகே” குப்பை வண்டியில் இருந்து ஒரு லாரியில் போட்டுவிடுவார்களாம். அந்த லாரியும் அங்கிருந்து போய்விட்டது எனச் சொல்லி இருக்கார். ஆனாலும் மதினி விடவில்லை. போனில் முத்துவை அழைக்கும் அளவிற்கு பழக்கம் வந்தது போன மழைக்காலத்தின் போது தான். அவருடைய வீடு மழை நீரில் மூழ்கிவிட இவர்கள் வீட்டு மொட்டைமாடியில் தான் மூன்று நாட்கள் தங்கினார். இரவில் மட்டும் மொட்டை மாடியில் உறங்கினார். சில சமயம் மதினி வீட்டில் சாப்பாடு சாப்பிடுவார். நல்லவேளை அவர் மனைவி அப்போது ஊருக்கு போய் இருந்தார். ஆந்திராவில் இருந்து வந்தாலும் நல்ல தமிழ் பேசுவார்.

ஃபோன் செய்து வீட்டிற்கே வரவழைக்கப்பட்டார் முத்து. “என்னக்கா ஏதாச்சும் கோல்ட் இல்லை நகை இருந்துச்சா கவர்ல” எனக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டே வந்தார். இல்லை மதினி தன் தோழிக்கு வரைத்த ஓவியமும் சின்ன பரிசு பொருளும் இருந்தது என்றார் அம்மா. அந்த லாரி எங்கிருந்தாலும் போய் பார்க்கலாம் மாமா என்றாள் மதினி. சரி வா தன் வண்டியில் போய் காட்டுகின்றேன், கிடைத்தால் அதிர்ஷ்டம் என்றார். மாடியில் இருந்து இறங்கும்போது வதனியும் எதிர்பட்டாள். அவளும் வருகின்றேன் என்று கூற மூவரும் அவருடைய இருசக்கர வாகனத்தில் லாரியை தேடிச் சென்றனர். “மூனு பேரு எல்லாம் வண்டியில போவது தப்புமா. நீங்க குட்டி பசங்க அதனால ஓகே” எனச் சென்றார்.

லாரி அங்கிருந்து சென்றுவிட்டு இருந்தது. தினமும் இரண்டு லோடு அடிக்குமாம். ஊருக்கு வெளியே இருக்கும் குப்பைக் கிடங்கில் எல்லா குப்பையும் கொட்டப்படும். அங்கே போகலாம் என மதினி சொன்னதால் வண்டியை குப்பைக் கிடங்கு பக்கம் திருப்பினார். அதனை நெருங்கும்போதே வாடை வந்தது. பயங்கர வாடை. மலைப்போல குப்பை குவிந்து இருந்தது. போய்விடலாம் என குழந்தை சொல்லவே, வண்டியை திருப்பி கொஞ்ச தூரம் இருந்த ஒரு டீக்கடையில் நிறுத்தினார். மூக்கை பிடித்தபடியே “இவ்வளவு குப்பையா?” என்றாள் வதனி. “ஆமாம் தினமும் ஆயிரம் டன்னிற்கு மேலே வருது. இங்க லட்ச டன் குப்பை இருக்கும். நாங்க குப்பையை வீட்டில இருந்து எடுத்து வந்து முடிஞ்ச அளவு மக்கும் குப்பை மக்கா குப்பைன்னு பிரிச்சு லாரியில ஏத்துவோம். அந்த லாரி இங்க வந்து குப்பை கொட்டும். இதை ஏதாச்சும் செய்யனும். வருஷக்கணக்கா அப்படியே இருக்கு. குப்பைக்கு நடுவுல ப்ளாஸ்டிக் பொருட்கள் இருப்பதால் இது மக்கவும் செய்யாது அப்படியே மலை போல குவிஞ்சு இருக்கு”

முத்துவின் ஃபோன் அடித்தது. “ஓ அப்படியா? ஒரு கால்மணி நேரத்தில் வரேன்” என அழைப்பை வைத்தார். “பசங்களா ஒரு வேலை வந்துடுச்சு. வேகமா வீட்டுக்கு போகலாம் வாங்க” என்றார். வீட்டினை அடையும் முன்னர் மதினியின் அம்மாவே வழியில் வந்தார்.
“என்னம்மா கவர் கிடைச்சதா?”

மூவரும் சிரித்தனர். “அக்கா, அதெல்லாம் கிடைக்காது. வீட்ல மனைவிக்கு வலி வந்துடுச்சாம் நான் அவசரமா ஆஸ்பத்திரி போகனும். பசங்கள இங்கயே இறக்கி விடவா?”
“சரி சரி நீ போ. இதோ கடைக்கு தான் போறேன்”

“கையில எதுவும் பை இல்லையே”
“கடையில கவர் தருவாங்க”
தன் பைக் கவருக்கு உள்ளே இருந்து துணிப் பையை எடுத்து “இந்தாங்க, பொருள் எல்லாம் வாங்கி இந்த பைல போட்டுகோங்க. ப்ளாஸ்டிக் கவர் வேணாமே. பையை நாளைக்கு வாங்கிக்குறேன்” எனச் சொல்லிவிட்டு வேகமாக கிளம்பினார்.
“இன்னைக்கு என்ன பாடம் கத்துகிட்டீங்க பசங்களா?. கவரை பத்திரமா வைக்கனும்னு புரிஞ்சுதா?” இருவரும் பதில் சொல்லவில்லை
ஆனால் இருவரும் வேறு வேறு மாதிரி தன் டைரியில் எழுதி இருந்தார்கள்

வதனி – “முத்து மாமாவுக்கு நல்லபடியா குழந்தை பிறக்கணும்”

மதினி – “குழப்பமா இருக்கு. ஏன் இவ்வளவு குப்பை. நாம் குப்பையை குறைக்க முடியுமா? பெருசாகிட்டு இந்த குப்பையை எப்படி திரும்ப பயன்படுத்தலாம்னு கண்டுபிடிக்கணும். இப்போதைக்கு குறைந்த ப்ளாஸ்டிக்கை மட்டும் பயன்படுத்துவேன்”

Atlas-5 делает от 4 до 6 запусков в год.

В результате запрета поставок РД-180 заказы отойдут к Space X, НПО Энергомаш останется без бабла, а United Launch Alliance совместно Blue Origin ускорят разработку двигателя BE-4, который заменит РД-180.

Elon Musk wouldn't run The Boring Company if he didn't plan for building his Mars colony underground. He doesn't do anything that isn't of direct use on Mars (SpaceX, Solar power, batteries, electric vehicles, communication satellites, drilling, vacuum engineering of the Hyperloop). I don't think that drilling has any other advantages than being a cheap way of interplanetary construction. Getting rid of the material in place instead of launching material there.

Whether or not this specific F9 wins any records is tough to say but when they actually finish the Block Five and stop fiddling with it, we should see a high number of reuses. Will be interesting to see how big their fleet is.

Ronnie Doyle, un joven estadounidense de 14 años, ha enviado una valiosa copia de EarthBound al espacio. La situación tiene relevancia porque se trata de uno de los cartuchos más difícil de conseguir en la actualidad, por el que algunos coleccionistas están dispuestos a pagar una importante suma de dinero por obtenerlo.

El abuelo de Doyle quería que su nieto festejara su cumpleaños de una manera diferente, por lo que se encargó de realizar una donación a Earth To Sky Calculos, un proyecto a cargo de alumnos de preparatoria y su profesor que se encargan de enviar objetos personales de sus donadores al espacio. El joven tuvo que elegir un objeto y se decidió por la copia de EarthBoud, su posesión más preciada, sabiendo que existía la posibilidad de no recuperar el RPG de Super Nintendo lanzado en 1995.

Afortunadamente para Doyle, los responsables pudieron traer su juego de vuelta sin daño alguno, su funcionamiento estaba intacto. Para lograr esto se utilizó un globo de helio con un dispositivo GPS conectado, el cual permitiría rastrear la ubicación del mismo una vez que aterrizara.

El cartucho alcanzó una altura máxima de 100.000 pies (poco más de 30.000 metros). Uno de los atractivos que ofrece Earth To Sky Calculos es la posibilidad de filmar el hecho para tener evidencia que se pueda recordar y compartir. Eigene Fehler finden wir schrecklich, die der anderen gut

Diese Diskrepanz zwischen der eigenen Vorstellung potenziell peinlicher Situationen und der Vorstellung anderer haben Psychologen der Universität Mannheim jetzt genauer untersucht. Sie stellten fest, dass die Probanden es grundsätzlich positiv bewerteten, wenn sich andere ihren eigenen Unzulänglichkeiten stellen mussten – sei es beim Singen vor Publikum, einem Vortrag oder schlicht der Situation, dass Freunde einen in eine nicht perfekt geputzte Wohnung einluden.

Betrifft es aber die Probanden selbst, wurden sich unsicher und ängstlich. Die Vorstellung, selber vor einer Jury aufzutreten oder Freunde in die etwas unordentliche Bude einzuladen, beurteilten die Testpersonen grundsätzlich negativ. Sie fühlten sich dann selber unzulänglich, schämen sich für ihre eigenen Makel und Fehler – wenngleich die anderen selbiges als positiv betrachten.

Dabei liegen die Vorteile auf der Hand: Wer sich selbst verletztlich zeigt vor anderen, der strahlt Stärke aus, weil er etwas riskiert — und das ist letztlich ein wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor. 

Stellt euch vor, Steve Jobs hätte nie den Mac der Öffentlichkeit gezeigt, Ed Sheeran hätte sich nie auf eine Bühne getraut oder Elon Musk hätte nie eine SpaceX-Rakete ins All schießen lassen — aus Angst, sich zu blamieren.

Je abstrakter ein Ereignis, desto positiver sehen wir es

Anna Bruk, Sabine Scholl und Herbert Bless von der Universität Mannheim erklären die Diskrepanz zwischen Selbst- und Fremdwahrnehmung in einem Artikel im „Journal of Personality and Social Psychology“. Grund ist für sie der Grad an Abstraktion, wenn wir uns verschiedene Situationen vorstellen. So ist unsere Sicht stets positiver, je abstrakter wir uns ein Ereignis vorstellen.

Umgekehrt sehen wir Ereignisse negativer, wenn wir sie uns konkret vorstellen. Das ist immer dann der Fall, wenn wir selbst involviert sind, denn wir können uns sehr genau ausmalen, wie es ist, vor einer Jury, dem Chef oder Freunden zu stehen. Und die Vorstellung wird konkreter, je näher das Ereignis ist. So ist die Vorfreude auf eine Hochzeit Monate zuvor sehr groß, doch je näher der Moment rückt, desto mehr sorgt sich das Brautpaar, das auch ja nichts schief geht.

Wie das Phänomen auch die Karriere betrifft

Dieses Phänomen betrifft nicht nur Freizeitsituationen, sondern hat auch im Berufsleben deutliche Auswirkungen. So zeigt sich, dass Ärzte ihren Patienten oft Therapien verordnen, die sie selber nie machen würden. Auch bei der Arbeit gilt, dass Kollegen es schätzen, wenn andere ihre eigene Unsicherheit zugeben und um Rat fragen – selbst aber eine Heidenangst davor haben, andere um Hilfe zu bitten.

Einen Rat, wie sich diese gedankliche Diskrepanz bei uns eliminieren lässt, haben die Autoren der Studie nicht. Vielleicht hilft es aber einfach schon, sich dieses Unterschiedes bewusst zu sein – und sich einfach mal öfter verletzlich, unsicher oder unzulänglich zu zeigen und zu merken, dass Freunde, Kollegen und selbst Vorgesetzte darauf weniger negativ reagieren, als wir eigentlich denken.

Há tempos a gente vem comentando sobre o turismo espacial, com as companhias privadas anunciando seus planos de levar pessoas que não são astronautas para a órbita da Terra, proporcionando uma viagem inesquecível para quem puder pagar por isso. Empresas como SpaceX, Boeing, Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin e SNC têm projetos do tipo, com o turismo espacial aos poucos saindo dos roteiros de ficção científica e chegando ao mundo real.

Além disso, algumas dessas empresas também transportarão astronautas da NASA para a Estação Espacial Internacional, com o objetivo de os Estados Unidos se independerem da cápsula russa Soyuz que, hoje, faz esse transporte.

Há pelo menos cinco espaçonaves do tipo em desenvolvimento. Conheça um pouco mais sobre cada uma delas:

New Shepard, da Blue Origin

Capaz de levar até seis passageiros por viagem, a New Shepard tem como principal objetivo o turismo espacial suborbital. A empresa de Jeff Bezos tem tudo para ser a primeira a oferecer esse tipo de passeio, uma vez que os testes com a nave estão em estágio avançado.

A nave será enviada à órbita do nosso planeta por meio de um foguete e, após a viagem, a New Sheppard voltará para a Terra contando com um paraquedas para seu retorno seguro. Por dentro, a cápsula é luxuosa: ela conta com assentos reclináveis recobertos por couro macio, com cada um dos seis assentos posicionados ao lado de uma enorme janela para garantir uma vista de cair o queixo.

Também ao lado de cada assento haverá um tablet acoplado à parede, fornecendo informações aos passageiros. E Bezos pretende iniciar as vendas dos tickets para viagens turísticas espaciais já no ano que vem!

Crew Dragon, da SpaceX

A nave para tripulantes da empresa de Elon Musk é a principal concorrente da Boeing no que diz respeito ao transporte de astronautas da NASA, mas, independentemente de qualquer coisa, a Crew Dragon também entrará no novíssimo mercado do turismo espacial.

Decolando em um foguete Falcon 9, a Crew Dragon abriga até 7 passageiros simultâneos. Por dentro, os assentos de fibra de carbono são cobertos por um tecido de microfibra de alta qualidade, contando com um painel de comando de quatro telas acima de dois dos assentos.

O painel sensível ao toque inclui opções de controle manual, ainda que a nave seja totalmente autônoma. Quatro janelas fazem parte de sua estrutura, mas as janelas da nave da SpaceX são menores do que as da cápsula da Blue Origin — talvez porque a Crew Dragon tenha sido inicialmente projetada para o transporte de astronautas, e não exatamente para o turismo.

CST-100 Starliner, da Boeing

Esta é a nave que bate de frente com a cápsula da SpaceX no que diz respeito aos planos da NASA, mencionados acima. Com capacidade para até 7 passageiros, a Starliner decolará por meio de um foguete Atlas V, da United Launch Alliance, e é luxuosa à beça: ela conta com iPads e Wi-Fi a bordo.

Segundo a Boeing, a Starliner pode ser reutilizada até 10 vezes, desde que se respeite um intervalo de seis meses entre os voos para os devidos reparos. Contudo, imprevistos nos últimos testes fizeram com que a Boeing atrasasse o cronograma do projeto e, portanto, pode ser que os testes tripulados somente aconteçam no final de 2019.

VSS Unity, da Virgin Galactic

Capaz de transportar seis passageiros, a VSS vem sendo anunciada pela Virgin Galactic há anos, com a empresa até mesmo já iniciando a venda dos ingressos para os passeios na órbita terrestre, mesmo sem previsão de quando isso irá acontecer.

A previsão é de que os preços da viagem fiquem na faixa dos US$ 250 mil, e, surpreendentemente, mais de 700 ingressos já foram vendidos. A viagem da Virgin Galactic deve durar 2,5 horas no total, sendo que o VSS, diferentemente das naves da SpaceX e da Blue Origin, é, na verdade, um avião supersônico. Por isso, ele é capaz de voar sozinho, sem a necessidade de um lançamento por meio de foguetes.

Do tempo total da viagem, apenas cinco minutos serão dedicados à experiência de gravidade zero. Após isso, a nave reentra na atmosfera da Terra de maneira gradual, aterrissando de volta na pista de onde partiu.

Dream Chaser, da Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC)

Também capaz de levar até sete pessoas em um só voo, a Dream Chaser da SNC decolará por meio de um foguete Atlas Vault, da United Launch Alliance, e, em seu retorno, ela é capaz de pousar em qualquer pista que possa acomodar um Boeing 737.

A nave parece um ônibus espacial, mas é bem menor, tendo apenas nove metros de comprimento. A partir de 2020, a nave também deve atender às necessidades da NASA no transporte de cargas para a ISS, já que a SNC perdeu para a Boeing e para a SpaceX a chance de fazer missões tripuladas para a agência espacial.

UNTIL February, when the first of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy lifters was launched, the world’s most powerful rocket was the Delta IV Heavy. On August 11th, if all goes according to plan, one of these will take off from Cape Canaveral carrying a craft called the Parker Solar Probe.

This probe, as its name suggests, is designed to get close to the sun. The rules of orbital mechanics mean that requires a lot of energy. Hence the need for a launcher as powerful as the Delta IV Heavy. A combination of rocket thrust and a series of gravitational “assists” from Venus will put the probe in a long, looping solar orbit. At its closest, it will fly within 6m kilometres of the nearest thing the sun has to a surface—the top of the layer known as the photosphere, which the naked eye perceives as the solar disc. That will bring it 85% closer to the photosphere than Mercury, the planet closest to the sun, ever gets.

入选TR 50榜单至少3次的公司

 值得关注的是,从入选榜单的公司体量来看,从2011 年到2014 年,上市公司在榜单中的比例低于40%。但是从2015年开始,上市公司的比例显著增加。在2017年的50家入选公司中,有28家上市公司,占比56%。这似乎从一个角度表明,更多优秀的技术创新公司实现了快速上市或加快向头部公司聚集的过程。

 在国家分布上,美国的公司每年都占据榜单的大半,不过优势正在放缓,从名额的80%下降到60%。总体来说,榜单中的国家组成多样性正在增加。中国公司的数量也在显著增加,从2013年的2家到2017年的9家。

今天(8月8日)发生了一件大事,特斯拉的创始人马斯克宣布想把特斯拉退市。

骨子里的工程师

他在公告中讲到的原因我总结了一下,是这几个点:

1.股价波动对持股员工心态有影响

2.季度报压力,使得短期决策未必长期正确

3.股价被长期做空,招来更多人攻击公司

大多数人把特斯拉当作一个电动车公司,其实这是因为对特斯拉这家公司和马斯克本人的误解——

太多人把马斯克当作一个企业家,却忘记了他本质上是个工程师。

熊猫君作为一个工程师,在看到马斯克做事情的时候,看到了很多工程师的特质。

看到问题——想解决它——想出办法

比如之前泰国岩洞淹水营救。他看到了这个问题,想要解决它,所以把他的小型潜艇云运去了泰国。

比如之前洛杉矶交通拥堵。他看到了这个问题,想要解决它,所以他让自己的创业公司去挖隧道。

这些是小事情,在大事情上面也是一样。

什么是大事情?

特斯拉的退市公告中还专门提到了一句

......能够专注于我们的长期使命的时候......我们才是处于最佳状态

特斯拉的长期使命就是大事情

在特斯拉官网上的公司介绍页面,第一句话就用大号字体写着公司的使命:

加速世界向可持续能源的转变

马斯克的公式

其实除了特斯拉之外,马斯克还有其它大事情。

SpaceX做的是大事情,Neuralink做的是大事情,Open AI做的也是大事情

而所有这些做大事情的公司,全部都遵从一个公式

马斯克开公司的目的,不是为了卖服务或者卖货,卖服务卖货都是手段。

通常来说,在一个热门行业变得热门之前,都像一堆木头时刻就绪,却缺乏燎原的火星,总是有一些技术上的短板阻止一个行业的快速起飞。

马斯克的这些公司的核心战略都是创造能够带来火星的火柴,用火柴能点燃整个行业,让更多人为这个目标奋斗。

他坚信,这种做法能够带来改变世界的变革,也会增加人类得到最好的未来的机会。

比如特斯拉这家公司,他的公式就是这样的。

马斯克看到的问题是,持续大量的化石能源的使用,会带来环境或者经济大灾难的风险。

他想到的解决方案,是一个用可持续能源来运作的世界。

特斯拉这家公司存在的目的不是卖汽车,卖汽车只是手段,通过这个手段,来加快世界向可持续能源的转变。

所以当上市公司的季报压力、股价动荡、外人攻击出现的时候,表面上影响的是特斯拉的卖车和造车,实际影响的是特斯拉的长期使命。

而这个习惯看到问题、解决问题的工程师,在经过挣扎后,给出的解决方案就是退市。

最后,我想用几个月前SpaceX的猎鹰重型成功发射和回收后说过的一些话总结一下:

1.这次猎鹰重型发射成功的意义不只是私人航天被证明技术和经济上可行,马斯克的情怀其实要比“搭建可重复利用火箭,使得平民上太空变得真正可行”要远大的多,可以说是真正望着星辰大海的人

2.早年通过电子支付发家后,马斯克做的一系列事情都不是简单的赚钱。搞特斯拉不是为了卖“电车”这个产品来赚钱,搞OpenAI不是为了卖“人工智能”概念来赚钱,搞SpaceX不是为了卖“太空旅游”产品来赚钱,搞Neuralink不是为了卖“脑机接口”产品来赚钱。

3.当然,这些产品都还要卖,而且卖了也确实会赚钱。但是赚钱的目的不是钱,而是为了证明做这些事情能赚钱,从而带动各个领域的革命

4.具体到特斯拉,就是通过卖电车赚钱来(1)维持公司的持续运营,(2)通过调动全民对电车的需求,来使得汽车行业更多的投入新能源车,从而带来新能源产品和新能源基建的革命,从而应对人类迟早要面对的能源危机。

5.具体到SpaceX,就是通过太空货运和旅行赚钱来(1)维持公司的持续运营,(2)通过建立地球到地球轨道到火星的低成本货运渠道,来引发更多的利益方来投入到基于这种低成本货运的技术开发和火星的开发,从而应对人类可能要面临的地球大灾变带来的生存危机

6.不管是特斯拉-新能源革命,SpaceX-建立更多基于火星货运的发展,还是OpenAI和Neuralink这两个致力于帮人类做好人工智能时代防御能力的事情,共同的目标都是一个:提高人类拥有更好未来的可能性。

7.这个非常长远的共同目标是需要很高的境界才能去做的,只有同样站到那个高度才能理解,所以也才会有一些技术新贵愿意在资本上支持马斯克继续走下去。

Shares of Tesla have rolled over and given up their more than 10% gains from Tuesday when CEO Elon Musk tweeted that he was considering taking the company private at $420 share.

The stock declined more than 6% Thursday, falling as low as $346.49. When Musk’s cryptic tweet sent shockwaves through markets at 12:48 p.m. ET on Tuesday, the stock was worth $358.

Musk said funding was secured, but offered no details as to which investor may be willing to cough up the billions needed to take Tesla off public stock exchanges. Those lingering questions, paired with  a report from The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday that said the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was investigating the tweet, only further dragged down the price.

Bloomberg on Thursday afternoon conformed the paper’s report, and said that the federal securities regulator had been looking into Tesla’s public statements before the tweet. That investigations is now "intensifying," it said. 

Legal experts told Business Insider that if financing had not actually been secured at the time of his tweet — which would count as a material statement under SEC rules — the billionaire likely broke federal laws. The SEC's requirements say a company must file an official disclosure within four days of a major event. Those events are generally defined as an acquisition, leadership change, or something in regards to the company’s financial situation.

In an email to employees which was later published on Tesla's website, Musk gave a few more details on the plan, leading with the fact that a final decision has not been made.

Thursday's declines also wipe out the smaller gains that came just before Musk's tweet, when the Financial Times reported that Saudi Arabia's public investment fund had invested $2 billion in the company. 

Tesla is up nearly 13% since the beginning of the year.

«Я по–прежнему считаю, что PSLV из Индии и, возможно, некоторые из китайских новичков являются нашей основной конкуренцией» — сказал он. «Альфа не собирается полностью побеждать в битве. Вот почему мы объявили о нашем намерении построить новую РН под названием Бета».

Beta аналогична Delta 4 Heavy или Falcon Heavy с тремя первыми ступенями и одной второй ступенью от РН Alpha. Before humans can colonize Mars, we'll need to figure out a way to make it a bit more hospitable. But a new study suggests that "terraforming" Mars into an Earthlike planet simply isn't possible with today's technology, NBC News reported.

The study, published July 30 in the journal Nature Astronomy, seems to throw cold water on those fictional terraforming schemes — along with some real-world ideas that sound like make-believe: In 2015, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said we could warm Mars and give it a thicker atmosphere capable of supporting agriculture by detonating nuclear warheads over the planet's icy poles.

There's no doubt that Mars' thin atmosphere and its soil and icy polar regions contain carbon dioxide. But the new research indicates that there's not enough of it for us to be able to trigger a sort of runaway greenhouse effect that would turn the red planet into a green one.

"The bottom line is that there just isn't very much there, and it's hard to put very much back into the atmosphere," said Bruce Jakosky, a professor of geological sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder and the study's lead author. "Our conclusion is we can't do it with today's technology."

En Estados Unidos los tuits los carga el diablo. Nunca antes tan pocos caracteres habían generado tantísimo interés y supervisión. El presidente, Donald Trump, marca la agenda diaria de los medios con ellos -que incluso se escrutan en la investigación por el supuesto complot de su campaña electoral con Rusia--y el fundador de Tesla, Elon Musk, ha conseguido poner en alerta a la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores de Estados Unidos (SEC, en sus siglas en inglés) después del tuit con el que el martes anunció que tenía la intención de sacarla de Bolsa. La SEC quiere saber si Musk ha cometido fraude. En concreto, si el anuncio y las intenciones de recompra de su empresa automovilística es real o si, por el contrario, el tuit emitido a las 12:48 horas del martes (hora de la costa este de Estados Unidos) tenía como intención subir las acciones de la compañía, cosa que sucedió, hasta que la autoridad bursátil de Nueva York suspendió la cotización de la empresa cuando ésta se cotizaba a 379’57 dólares por acción.
