Welcome to FreedomWorks Foundation’s nineteenth regulatory review of 2019! Our Regulatory Action Center proudly updates you with our favorite tidbits from the swamp. We want to smash barriers between bureaucracy and the American people by delivering regulatory news straight to FreedomWorks activists. Check back in two weeks for the next edition.
1) Video of the Week: Unsurprisingly, the United States is not the first country to experience ballooning budgets and astronomical deficits. In the mid-1990’s, Canada’s debt grew to as high as 70% of GDP, similar to our current debt situation. In this weeks video, John Stossell sits down with Canadian economist David Henderson to discuss how Canada managed to tackle their debt problem by cutting government spending and reducing waste.
2) Why Is the CDC Still Fostering Potentially Deadly Confusion About Vaping and Lung Disease?: “Media outlets, following the lead of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), continue to blame recent cases of severe respiratory illnesses among vapers on "vaping" and "e-cigarettes" in general, falsely implying a link to legal nicotine products. This misinformation is fostering public confusion that may lead to more disease and death, both from smoking and from the black-market products that have been implicated in the lung disease cases.”
4) Federal Court Upholds FCC Decision to Roll Back Obama-Era Net Neutrality Rules: “Today, by a 2-1 vote, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit sided largely with the FCC, upholding the primary regulatory rollback as a valid exercise of its authority. In the nearly 200 page opinion, which is heavy on technical detail, the court wrote that while the challengers raised "numerous objections" aiming to show that the FCC's reclassification is "unreasonable," the judges found them "unconvincing."
5) Trump to issue executive order ‘protecting’ Americans from ‘Medicare for All’ campaign proposals pushed by Democrats: “The executive order, which he is scheduled to discuss at a speech in Florida later Thursday, is intended to bolster Medicare Advantage, private Medicare insurance for seniors that currently covers 22 million people, senior administration officials said on a call with reporters. The plan would also offer more affordable plan options, increase use of telehealth services and bring payments in Medicare fee-for-service program in line with payments for Medicare Advantage, officials said.”
6) Treasury to create tool to help people redeem billions in unclaimed savings bonds: “Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Wednesday said that the Treasury Department will create an online tool to help people redeem billions of dollars in savings bonds. About $26 billion in matured savings bonds are in the U.S. Treasury and have yet to be redeemed. Using the department's forthcoming tool, people will be able to verify against Treasury Department records if they have any savings bonds dated after 1974 that can be redeemed, Kennedy's office said in a news release.”
Battle Gear is your classic Orc and Barbarian wear complete with Battle Axe. Two arm bracers, one chest piece with shoulder guard and a Lion Cloth. Each part loads on its own, so use what you need and not what you don't. Works with all the latest figure shapes, so don't think this is just a single use item. Men and Teens, Beasts and Heroes all look better in leather. I hope that's leather...
Billboard Nodes is a plugin for Daz Studio that creates flat planes that always align to the user. Works automatically with all cameras and views in the viewport.
The plugin adds two interface elements:
Entry in the Create menu called "New Billboard Node"
New "Billboard" pane
To create a new billboard node, simply click on "New Billboard Node" in the Create menu. This will create a plane primitive that is oriented automatically to your view.
The pane is not necessary but provides a couple convenience features
Select All Billboard Nodes – this makes it simple to select all billboard nodes in the scene
Randomize PointAt % - this will change how strongly the billboard nodes will point at the view. This affects all selected billboard nodes.
While content created with this plugin will work best with the plugin, it isn't actually required. If the plugin is not present the billboard content still loads but doesn't automatically face the camera. The user can then manually set the billboards to point at an object or camera in the scene.
The Cozy Dining Room for Daz Studio. Includes room interior, plant, dining table, dining chair, small table, and 2 pictures. EJ Alien Creator Morphs for Genesis 8 Female(s) is a pack of 127 morphs to create custom aliens and sci-fi creatures of all kinds, from sinister to friendly ones, and the only limit is your imagination. You have lots of morphs to change every part of the head, and 7 bodies. In addition you have 7 already made morph presets of head and body (Grey, Amphibian, Averan, Saturnian, Plutonian, Venusian, and Reticulian).
Each face feature is a shape that doesn't exist in the human beings, so all together can create faces that are truly alien. For the bodies you have 7 typical alien body shapes: slender and tall, short and chubby, voluptuous and beautiful, extremely thin...
You can also mix them with character morphs or other Genesis 8 Female morphs to create different people of the same alien species. Or use some of these morphs over a human head to create hybrids, or give a special physical trait to them, as longer head or peculiar cheekbones or lips, or bigger eyes. Other uses are possible, for example for fantasy genres: make another facial feature for the elves of your universe that is not only the usual pointed ears, or create new fantasy races.
This product also includes 7 full alien presets, as well as 7 full head presets, and icons to load each of the bodies of these presets, making it easy to mix these heads and bodies. These presets are samples of what you can do. The number of new alien heads you can do with the 120 head morphs is virtually unlimited. A must have for any sci-fi Genesis 8 render!
This is a morphs product, no textures are included.
EASE OF USE: In addition to the 7 body dials, all the 120 head dials are divided in categories with the name of the head/face part that they affect, so you can give shape to an alien quickly and in a creative way. In addition you have 7 already made alien presets that are applied with icons. There are also Zero icons to reset a category of morphs, so for example in case that you are making the brows, and want to reset only those to start again, you can do it easily using the Zero Brows icon.
TYPICAL ALIEN PRESETS: The alien presets included feature some of the most typical alien species: the sinister Grey that comes to abduct people at night, the fun and weird Venusian, the little chubby Saturnian, the two brained Reticulian, the beautiful Plutonian girl, the stylized Averan, or the Amphibian alien that can live in the oceans. It is easy that you get inspired to make other classical extraterrestrials like the Pig Man, or the goblin type from Alpha Centaury, as morphs for making them exist in this pack, which has been made studying the sources of ufology and cryptology.
USABILITY FEATURES: These morphs work on Genesis 8 Female(s), and all figures based on her.
Dan is a high quality character, expressions and accessory set for for Michael 6.
Dan is a high quality character, expressions and accessory set for Michael 6 for use in DAZ Studio 4.6 and up and Poser 9 and up.
He can be "Private Dan," "Dan the Man," the guy next door, a werewolf, a vampire, a goth .... the options are endless.
The heads are uniquely custom sculpted in Zbrush using a real life person for references, and the skin was created using high quality photo references for depth and detail. There is also an morph injection for the anatomical elements. Not only does he come as a human version, with a pale and tanned skin, he also has a second head, custom sculpted ears, fangs, eyes and claws to make him into a werewolf. No extra morphs are needed for the two heads, but he'll need Michael 6 and the Genesis 2 Male Body Morphs for the body to work.
The human version comes with three base mats (DAZ Studio, DAZ Studio SSS and Poser SSS) for each version, pale and tanned skin, six natural eyes, two beard versions for each skin type, as well as a no beard option, a shaved chest version and a full tattooed body option. The werewolf version comes with three base mats (DAZ Studio, DAZ Studio SSS and Poser SSS) for each version, pale and black skin, six fantasy eyes (including glow-in-the dark versions), five Nail color options and a full tattooed body option. Both human and werewolf version have anatomical element mats as well.
Dan also comes with 10 custom "mix and match" expressions, which are organized in three folders (FullFace, UpperFace, and LowerFace). You can apply a full face expression, or make your own mixing the upper and lower face partials. This gives you more possibilities: change your idea on the go, leave the lips that you like and choose different eyes for the expression, use the parts of the expressions that you like more, or even choose similar partials to subtly change the mouth or eyes in an animation, just like what happens in real life. Although they were made especially for Michael 6, they also work on Genesis 2 Male(s), and figures based on him.
And if that isn't enough, also included are a set of dog tags, a cool and fashionable watch and a set diamond ear studs. This gives you even more versatility. Now you can dress him up to your liking, add a bit of bling and he's ready to go to boot camp or out on the town.
The Diamond studs are separate left and right, and have four Metal textures (Silver, Gold, Titanium and Copper). The dog tags come with a vast number of morphs, as well as styling/swing morphs, and four different tag style options. The watch has four Strap options (Black, Brown, Beige and White), four Face options (Blue, Red, Beige and Green) and four Metal textures(Silver, Gold, Titanium and Copper). Furthermore there are 11 time options, to give you even more flexibility.
While all accessories are designed with Dan in mind, they will work on all M6 and Genesis 2 Male characters.

Deutsch North America’s CEO Mike Sheldon is hanging up his cleats. It’s not a retirement, per se, but a move away from Deutsch in Los Angeles after 22 years.
During his tenure, the Michigan native has presided over highs and lows. Most notably, Sheldon is credited with turning Deutch’s then-nascent L.A. operation into one of the staples of the market, taking it from a handful of people to, at its peak, a 600-plus juggernaut. The agency continues to create standout work for brands, including high profile campaigns for Taco Bell, Dr. Pepper and others.
Yet with all of the ups and downs (common in any agency), Sheldon, who spent six years at TBWA\Chiat\Day pre-Deutsch, remained upbeat and steadfast in his mission to build and retain a positive outlook and culture. Adweek caught up with Sheldon to find out a little more about his time at Deutsch and what’s next.
I’ll start with the predictable question. Why now? Mike Sheldon: It’s a confluence of events. I’ve been doing this for 22 years, and I turned 60 a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been talking to [IPG CEO] Michael Roth about this for a while and want to see what else is out there. I’m not ready to go feed pigeons on a park bench. I want to see what the universe brings. I still have a lot of energy and interest in new and exciting ventures, and I figured after 22 years at Deutsch and 37 years in advertising, maybe there’s something else out there for me.
What would you say, outside of the obvious things like technology, are the most significant changes you’ve seen at Deutsch L.A.?
We’ve always been about investing ahead of revenue. In the future, it will be the same. You have to stay ahead of the business, or you’ll get run over. We got into digital production years ago, and started Steelhead [Deutch’s in-house production company] a few years ago. Experiential is now huge, analytics are as well. The future is going to be like the past: Unless you stay ahead, it will get the best of you.
How does an agency “stay ahead”?
For us, it’s having rock-solid clients like Taco Bell, Keurig Dr. Pepper and H&R block that appreciate the partnership and long-term commitment and depths of understanding that an agency can have into a client’s business and provide value way beyond any marketing communication. Then some clients want a TV spot or need to spend time looking at their consumer base. You have to go with the flow since there aren’t a ton of AOR relationships. I keep telling everybody to think of yourself as the ultimate Swiss army knife because that’s what we need to be a good, successful agency moving forward.
You’ve touched on a couple of successful points in your tenure. Aside from those, what would say is another significant accomplishment?
By far, the idea of kindness. There are a lot of really good people in this business—brilliant and creative people. But that has to be combined with being kind and putting your employees first and, unfortunately, making some of those difficult decisions like walking away from a prickly client. It doesn’t get talked about much in this business, but being good to other humans is a business asset.
Anything you would have done differently over the past two-plus decades?
I thought that I could have started an agency at one point, but it was never in the cards or the right things for me. I used to think that I should have done that, but looking back, I’ve realized how much I’ve enjoyed and valued my time here.
One of the tougher times for the agency was the end of the VW relationship. What did you learn from that?
I’d be less than truthful if I didn’t say it was a kick in the gut after nine years of really great results, fantastic work and a great brand point of difference. But that’s advertising. That’s what we signed up for. There are a lot of things that you can’t control, and the best advertising executives have a short memory. So while that stung, nine months later, it’s a distant memory, and we’re on to all the work that’s currently filling up the plate. You can’t take that stuff too seriously, personally or emotionally—it’ll eat you alive.
What’s your view on the agency world today?
It’s a tougher time than it’s ever been in the business, but it’s also kind of a mind game now. You have to stay positive, keep pitching and pushing. Anybody that reads too much of the press or gets bummed out about anything is dead because this business is just unforgiving. So it’s staying ahead. It’s innovating, it’s adding new divisions. It’s not being afraid to invest and keeping both feet on the gas. Otherwise, there’s just too much gravity pulling things down right now. Clients will always pay for ideas, great execution and results-driven communications.
What’s next for you?
I’m going to keep the aperture wide open. I have purposely not overplanned this. My goal is to see what the universe brings in. That might be taking a bike ride on a random Tuesday, consulting, bringing in a direct-to-consumer product to life, or another type of product to life. I really want to stay open.
Is Lil’ Sweet, Diet Dr. Pepper’s mascot, the most underrated ever?
I think he might be. But, in all seriousness, we love Lil’ Sweet, and that brand continues to defy gravity year after year because it’s the coolest, weirdest campaign in the world.

Preloads have been included for ease of use and with a little imagination these parts can be further extended to enhance versatility.
Additional features include Reality shader support via ASCEL Share (created by Paolo Ciccone himself) as well as DS3 light presets as used in the DS artwork featured in the popups.
Please be aware to use this product in its entirety requires a high-spec PC and a little patience for the rendering times. I've done my best to make it usable on lower spec PC's but it might require a bit more work to get it all loaded in.
