In that image above, you can see that many will undergo large changes. The previous icon for most of Google’s apps attempted to cram their 4 company colors in, leaving them all looking just a bit too similar. This new set of icons does away with that requirement and lets them be their own, unique icon.

This just doesn’t really seem like an inbox and is more of a to-do space within

In the image above, you can see an example where Google asked Gmail to find a plumber it had received a bathroom renovation quote from the previous year.

Spotted over the weekend on Android, Google has quietly made this little change that can remove the sender profile picture in notifications and replace it more information that is certainly more useful than a picture. In the images below, you can see when compacted,

After: notifications can include a paperclip emoji to let you know that an email has an attachment. Once expanded, you should also now see a pill-shaped space to let you know what the attachment is – for example, it will tell you if it’s an image or PDF. For some, this expansion can even show a preview of the content, but I haven’t been able to replicate that just yet.
