(Erkennst Du sie wieder?):</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="306" width="400" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="332" width="400" /></a></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Einiges ist im Moment noch in Arbeit und vieles in Planung, besonders nach dem ersehnten Outing vom letzten Montag. Hurra!!! Ein wahres Abenteuer also!</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="640" width="276" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="640" width="290" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="640" width="352" /></a></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Im Sommer 2012 habe ich diesen Schnitt schon einmal genäht und für gut befunden. Damals sah das so aus:</div> <div style="text-align: center;"> <img src="; height="400" width="300" /></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Wie man sieht, ist es im Original eigentlich kein Umstandskleid, aber ich habe es den Umständen entsprechend ein bisschen geändert, in dem ich am Vorderteil mehr Weite zugegeben habe und den Stoff an Stelle der Falten eingereiht habe.</div> <div style="text-align: center;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Und wer noch mehr Selbstgenähtes sehen will, schaut mal hier beim <a href="</a> vorbei!</div> <div style="text-align: center;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Liebste Grüße</div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Abendstern</div> <div class="blogger-post-footer">;2015/02/me-made-mittwoch-noch-ein-kleid.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Abendstern)9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14484057.post-6759614337376354250Wed, 04 Feb 2015 07:20:00 +00002015-02-04T08:20:07.327+01:00Me Made MittwochOOTDStrickenMe-Made-Mittwoch<div style="text-align: center;"> Heute zeige ich nochmal die Variation einer Bluse oder besser eines <a href=" </a>von Burda aus der 1/2015.</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="640" width="300" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="; height="640" width="322" /></a></div> <div style="text-align: center;"> Die Hose ist ebenfalls von Burda aus der 2/2012; <a href="; bereits schon einmal gezeigt. GW/SW-030 and GW/SW-024<p>It’s been a while since we added any new activations to this blog, but it was suggested we post them here again, so here we go. Two 1pt activations to get things going again.</p><p><b>GW/SW-030 Mynydd Machen.</b>&nbsp;</p><p>The wx was promising a mixed bag for todays double activation, but neither summit had long walks involved so we didn’t perceive any issues. Although a little overcast, it was dry and was even promising some sun. The parking spot for 030 is at the starting point of the concrete path giving access to the comms towers on top of the hill.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2996" data-original-width="1440" height="508" src="; width="276" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">GPS track of our route</p><p>The walk up is pretty easy going on a good surface. Ted seems happy to be out with us again (plus it was his 3rd Birthday) so he was getting lots of treats and attention. Towards the top of the hill, the communication site comes into view and the grade lessens.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1816" data-original-width="4032" height="227" src="; width="505" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">The view from the start point&nbsp;</p><p>This summit can be quite busy by the trig point, so we chose a spot in the heather and wimberries on the opposite side of the comms compound to set up for our activation. Needless to say, I was very surprised to see the Wimberry bushes still covered in fruit. Natural breakfast was on the books for me (and purple fingers). We soon had the pole up with hf and vhf antennas on top, and settled in. The wx had brightened considerably, and we were even sat in warm sunshine.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="434" src="; width="195" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;">Looking towards the summit and the communications tower</p><p>We opened on 40m to find the bands very busy with both contest and Scout stations working from around the World. Great to hear amateur radio being used like this. After a couple of quick calls we were rewarded with a nice little pile up and a few summit to summit contacts. We did notice considerable qrm and lots of qsb, but most contacts were completed without too much difficulty. 20m came next and again we managed to work a number of contacts on this frequency. Time was starting to catch up with us, so we made 2m our final band, and although not brilliant from this summit, we managed to get a couple more in the log. At this point, we packed up and headed back down the hill to drive to our second summit of the day.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="1816" height="320" src="; width="144" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ted hiding in the heather and wimberries.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1816" data-original-width="4032" height="144" src="; width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The view from 030 as we set up.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1816" data-original-width="4032" height="144" src="; width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Breakfast was provided for free. The walk upto the AZ on this summit is easy. Just follow the path from past the solar farm and keep heading up. Of note: if you have dogs with you, the land owner has signs up saying dogs found harassing sheep will be shot. Keep this in mind, close gates etc.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2996" data-original-width="1440" height="459" src="; width="221" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Route up to 024. We stopped short of the actual summit as the bench at the comms site is well inside the AZ and the wx had turned.&nbsp;</div><p>The AZ for this summit starts just before the large comms site, with the actual summit to the right some 18m higher. As we were in the AZ and there was a handy bench at the site, we chose to operate there. The wx was turning, and rain was hitting us as we set up. Ted just found himself some long grass to hide in, while the Humans did silly things.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The other guy with Ted on our way up towards the second summit.&nbsp;</div><p>Mal started on 20m on this summit and managed a few good contacts. The bands were still very busy, and again qsb was causing some issues, as were strong stations above and below us. Mal had a better run on 20m that I did, but the opposite was true when we swapped to 40m with a good number of contacts entered itl.&nbsp;</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="; style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That pesky 2W station on 40m, again :)&nbsp;</div><p>At this point, more rain came over us, and much more was on the way. With this in mind, we shut down and packed up for the walk back to the car. A great outing to two little summits. Good fun was had on both. Many thanks to everyone who contacted us. The sky looked quite pretty on the drive up, but the old saying “Red sky in the morning” came to mind.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> First up today was SW-013 Tor y Foel. The drive up was good and ice free. We arrived at the parking spot and we were soon on our way up the hill. This one isn’t a long walk, but does have 3 fun little rises before the actual summit. From the start the wind started to pick up, but thankfully it was dry.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="863" height="320" src="; width="172" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> We reached the summit and looked for some sort of shelter. We found a small hollow big enough for the two of us and set up our gear. With the hf and vhf antennas up, the poor pole was bending well in the wind. Thankfully it held up.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> We started on vhf, and although I posted a spot on the SOTA site, things were pretty quiet. 2 contacts were made, but then it went quiet (we were early on summit). We switched to hf and called on 20m. I took half a dozen contacts and Maldwyn took quite a few more. After this we went back to vhf to see if anyone was looking for us, but it was quiet, so after a few CQ calls, we shut down and packed away the gear, wanting to move on to summit no.2. The walk down was very windy, even managing to throw me around!<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> The drive to SW-011 Sugarloaf was quick and without event. We soon found the car park and after a quick coffee, we started walking towards the hill. The cloud was very low here, and while the wind was much easier at lower levels, visibility was not wonderful.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="863" height="320" src="; width="172" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> The walk up was quite quick, and we were soon on summit. Again, we managed to find a hollow on one side of the summit just away from the trig point, with the antenna set up on top. Bar a few walkers braving the cold and wind, it was very quiet.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> This time we set up on vhf, with hf as a backup. Calls came in quite quickly and we both had the summit qualified in ten minutes. We managed a few more contacts after this before the weather finally started to come in, the wind picked up and it started with the wet stuff. I took a couple more calls, but we wanted to get down before getting drenched, so I called it. Sorry if there were any stations still waiting to contact us. We packed away with the wind getting stronger and were soon heading back down.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> It didn’t take long to get back to the car, and we headed home... luckily we missed the worst of the bad weather which started as we left the mountain. I’m so glad we were not up there when it came in.<br /> <br /> Many thanks to the stations that answered our calls and called us. Also, again, apologies to anyone that we missed at the end.<br /> <br /> 73, Ian 2W0IWM/p and Mal GW6OVD/p2019/12/gwsw-013-tor-y-foel-and-gwsw-011.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (iM Design)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5639541507796420067.post-6664390081534824047Wed, 11 Dec 2019 16:59:00 +00002019-12-11T17:01:58.843+00:00GW/SW-010 Craig y LlynQuick activation report for GW/SW-010 Craig y Llyn (600m IO81er 4+3pts).<br /> <br /> Mal (GW6OVD) once more rescued me for an hour out. From the start, the weather looked... damp? (Persistently raining). But... it was seven more points, and local.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="863" height="320" src="; width="172" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> Today’s target was SW-010 Craig y Llyn. Driving up... more rain.., heavy rain... I started to doubt our sanity, but Mal said it would be easing off at the summit. In fairness, it did. It stopped raining! Yay. It snowed instead...<br /> <br /> The route to this one is an easy walk up the access roads for the wind farm. The track is good and fast going. Of note, take care if your going up there, as we were passed by a number of large logging trucks, tractors etc, all giving us a friendly wave. Stay to the sides of the tracks, as they can be hard to hear with the wind.<br /> <br /> Once at the top of the track, it’s a little right turn into the forestry and within a minute, your at the trig point. Though sheltered, we opted to operate at the far end, overlooking the valley (though not today as it was full of cloud).<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> The trees can make vhf difficult in some directions, but it was chosen to start the activation, with hf as a backup. As we set up, it started to rain again... so we huddled under the trees and pulled Mal’s umbrella over the radio.<br /> <br /> The first couple of CQ calls gained us two contacts, and with a little more work, we soon had the summit qualified. Then... the snow started. Heavy, fluffy snow. Yes, we must be mad! Huddled under the trees, in the snow, calling CQ 😂 (actually, it was good fun). After 7 contacts, things went quiet, so we went QRT and packed up.<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div> <br /> <br /> The walk down was uneventful, and quite picturesque with snow clinging to the trees. Of course... the skies then cleared and we had nice views and blue sky! (Though it didn’t last long).<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="; width="240" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="; width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <br /> Thanks to all those that answered our calls. Catch you on the next outing.http:

A constantly expanding repertoire that starts with her superb interpretations of “The Great American Songbook” but also encompasses a wide range of more contemporary and original material. Influences include Carmen McRae, Nancy Wilson, Sheila Jordan and Roberta Gambarini to name but a few. This should interest newcomers to Scientology as well as "old timers" who "look down their noses" at Dianeticists as "foreigners" and consider them bedfellows of doctors, psychiatrists, etc. This issue of the Journal contains 20 pages and sells for 75 cents, compared to the $3 charged for the original book.</p> <p>And this might be a good place to explain what the "G" stands for after the issue number of the Journal. Originally, there were supposed to be three classes of the magazine: Medical, designated by the letter "M" and carrying material of interest to the medical profession; Special, symbolized by the letter "S", which would go to special groups; and General, which would cover the entire field of <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/dianetics.html"><acronym title="A self-help therapy created (or synthesized) and publicized by L. The "M" and "S" numbers would be sample "come on" issues, and those who showed enough interest to subscribe would be picked up on the "G" list. The "M" and "S" issues never have materialized.</p> <hr /> <h2>SHOULD WE RETURN TO 'MERCENARIES'?</h2> <p>(Here's Where Page 2 Ended.)</p> <p>ting the contract to a civilian organization to provide meals for this training center. Not only will they furnish the meals, but there'll be civilian service for officers AND enlisted men, with no dishes to wash, no floors to scrub, no sloppy tables to "G.I."</p> <p>It's an economy measure. It was discovered that an outside firm could provide better meals at less expense than the Air Base itself. Which merely points up the inefficiency of a military organization. With hundreds of men idle most of the time, serving out a sentence in preparation for a war the top politicians may not be able to maneuver us into in spite of their frantic efforts, it seems strange that cooks, waiters, dish washers, etc., can be hired, food prepared and served--at a profit for some civilian firm--cheaper than the Government can do it.</p> <p>Yet there have been parallel instances in the past. On Operation Crossroads, the Bikini atomic bomb experiments of 1946, more than $100,000,000 was spent to detonate and photograph two atomic bombs. A better job could have been done for one-tenth of this sum by even one of the "B" picture companies from Hollywood. It was no secret among military personnel that the pictures made by the Army Air Force of the A-blasts in 1946 and the preparations for it were far inferior to pre-explosion pictures made by a newsreel company.</p> <p>In the name of economy--if the administration REALLY is interested in lightening the tax burden--maybe somebody will come up with the idea of fighting the next war by contract: give the contract to win the war to a low-bidding civilian firm and let them make the plans and hire needed personnel. It's certain experienced gunners wouldn't be pounding typewriters, typists picking up twigs and cigaret butts off the grass in the "Officers' Quarters", and cooks and dish washers operating the armament.</p> <p>Besides, if it were a game as well as a job--instead of enforced servitude under incompetent rank-happies--winning a war might be fun.</p> <hr /> <p>SICK ITUR AD ASTRA</p> <p>"A hypochrondiac", according to Will Roth in The FLITTER, "is a fellow who can't leave well enough alone. Ron Hubbard beginning in 1950. It was the precursor to Scientology, and its techniques are still the introductory practices of Scientology.">Dianetics</acronym></a>--and lately, <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/scientology.html"><acronym title="The outgrowth of Dianetics, ultimately styled as, alternately, a religion, a self-help system, and an applied religious philosophy.">Scientology</acronym></a>. Some, from people who should have known better.</p> <p>But the main item has been missed completely. The big trouble with <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/dianetics.html"><acronym title="A self-help therapy created (or synthesized) and publicized by L. Ron Hubbard beginning in 1950. It was the precursor to Scientology, and its techniques are still the introductory practices of Scientology.">Dianetics</acronym></a> is that nobody ever tried it!</p> <p>It's true that there may have been a half-dozen conscientious auditors who tried to get Hubbard's real data from the first book, but most of them used "The Modern Science of Mental Health" as a springboard to dramatize their own engrams and sympathy exciters, or to prove some crackpot theory they already had.</p> <p>It was a jolt in 1950 to see a graduate of the first Elizabeth Foundation school practicing a type of auditing that "The Book" warned against time and again--and from correspondence with other graduates, it appeared that the technique was being taught. This also was true with other so-called schools: California, Wichita, etc., as well as the groups.</p> <p>All programs were aimed at ignoring the most important tenets of Hubbard's first book and substituting every kind of screwball substitute --from E-Therapy and self-hypnosis to the nonsense scattered from centers of idiocy in Colorado, Alabama, Florida, Washington and elsewhere. Seeing supposedly long-term, fast friends of Ron's turn to the enemy for money, and later come back hypocritically contrite has only intensified my dislike for people who ignore data, and then blame Ron for the miserable failures attendant upon their efforts.</p> <p>If the first book was ignored, still less attention was given to what may yet prove to be THE classic work: "Advanced Procedures and Axioms". Even Hubbard has rejected both of these works by implication, which might serve to validate F. Scott Fitzgerald's statement that writing and works of art transcend their creators' own understanding of them.</p> <p>"Advanced Procedures" brought <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/clear.html"><acronym title="A state purportedly produced by Dianetic processing, described as being free of one's reactive mind. According to Hubbard's book Dianetics, a clear has perfect memory and improved eyesight, and no longer suffers from psychosomatic illnesses.">clear</acronym></a> light and understanding to mankind's greatest mystery and suggested a means of solving that mystery. But it was used as a springboard to dramatize what was called "the service facsimile chain", and instead of following Ron's basic advice to always use light techniques on low-toned preclears, the heaviest stuff possible was run by screwballs looking for blueprints on how to make a bap gun instead of how to get a preclear out of an engram he was stuck in.</p> <p>As a result, many calling themselves "Dianeticists" got only the results they should have expected, yet they used their own failures to "prove" Hubbard was wrong--that his techniques didn't work.</p> <p>Now we have the recent "Auditor's Handbook and Intensive Procedure", which stands with the first two as a major work on mental--or, if you prefer it, spiritual therapy.</p> <p>This book is a full package, as were the first two. This book, if followed carefully, will produce the miraculous betterments in health and mind that Ron always has extravagantly claimed for all of his techniques.</p> <p>But it has the same pitfall as the other two--the same "bugger factor" that auditors en masse used to nullify the preceding books.</p> <p>Ron again has taken it for granted that auditors will follow his instructions and audit according to the outlines of <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/dianetics.html"><acronym title="A self-help therapy created (or synthesized) and publicized by L. Ron Hubbard beginning in 1950. He has assumed that the stuff will be used with a modicum of horse sense.</p> <p>Well, let's hope so. But</p> <p>ABOUT THE AUTHOR</p> <p>WE'VE known Bob Arentz nearly 3 years, and in that time have discovered he can get "madder" at <a class="glossary-term" href="/people/l-ron-hubbard.html"><acronym title="Founder of Dianetics and Scientology.">L. Also, he can express his anger most convincingly, as many of the <a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/h-a-s.html"><acronym title="The Hubbard Association of Scientologists, replaced by the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, International (HASI) at the June Congress in 1954.">H.A.S.</acronym></a> staff will testify.</p> <p>Therefore, it was with crossed fingers that we agreed to let him write a review on Hubbard's new "Auditor's Handbook". We liked the book, and wanted no vitriolic pen taking it apart. Besides, Uncle Sam is somewhat of a minacious guardian of the mails' purity.</p> <p>But Bob fooled us. And in the light of the Dianetic-<a class="glossary-term" href="/terms/scientology.html"><acronym title="The outgrowth of Dianetics, ultimately styled as, alternately, a religion, a self-help system, and an applied religious philosophy.">Scientology</acronym></a> reunion, Bob may have a point.
