Jamie Foxx appears in this image from an interview for ABC News. (ABC News)At 58, actor, comedian and singer Jamie Foxx says he has "unfinished business" and is feeling more creative than ever, three years after a health scare sent him to the hospital."Man, I almost died," Foxx told ABC News' Will Reeve in an interview that aired Monday on Good Morning America. "I was almost outta here. Stand-up comedy doesn't come from an accomplished position. I have something to connect with people and say, 'Hey, man, I went through some stuff and I'm gonna tell it as funny as I can, but as real as I can.'"In 2023, Foxx experienced a brain bleed that led to a stroke. He said nurses told him afterward that his chances of survival were slim."I went back to see those nurses that kept me alive," Foxx recalled. "She said, 'But Jamie, I'm gonna tell you something, you a miracle. You're a three percenter.' I said, 'What's that mean?' She said, 'Less than 3% of people that come in with what you have walk out of here.'"But Foxx said his close circle of friends and loved ones helped him make a major recovery."They saw me at my most, you know, vulnerable. I had to depend on people," Foxx said. "I came to. I was in a wheelchair. I said, 'What's up with the wheelchair?!' When we all go, it's how they speak your name. It's how they feel about you. So, I kind of keep that in the back of my head when I'm telling jokes."Following medical treatment and a recovery plan that involved playing pickleball, Foxx is back on stage, returning to his comedy roots."I've never been as creative as I am now, 58 years old, but I just still feel like there's some things that I'm really trying to get at," he said.Foxx's latest project is a new Hulu standup special called Take Care of Yourself, which was filmed in Oakland, California, where Foxx kickstarted his career when he won the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival back in 1991. He even welcomed one of his daughters, Anelise, to share the spotlight with him in the special."To be on stage with my little one, with my daughter, to have her on stage with me rocking, showing her musical talents, and she's basically a quiet person, but her showing her artistry, that feels good," he said. The new standup special, Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself, premieres Wednesday on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.Disney is the parent company of ABC News, Disney+ and Hulu.Copyright © 2026, ABC Audio. Michael Douglas speaks with ABC News' Diane Sawyer in an interview that aired on "Good Morning America" on Oct. 5, 2026. (ABC News)Actor Michael Douglas is sharing new details about his decadeslong career in Hollywood, and the shadow he lived under as he climbed his way to the top.Douglas, now 82, was born into Hollywood royalty as the son of actors Diana Douglas and Kirk Douglas. It was his dad, a three-time Oscar nominee whom Michael Douglas describes as "larger than life," whose shadow loomed large over his son, both as a father and in Hollywood."I think he meant well, but he was out of that generation where you smacked around a fair amount," Michael Douglas told ABC News' Diane Sawyer, describing his father's temper that he said left him shy throughout his childhood. In his 20s, Michael Douglas followed his dad into the world of acting, and said he soon had to turn down his own dad for a role. While producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Michael Douglas said that though his dad desperately wanted the role of Randle Patrick McMurphy, the studio head and director felt that Kirk Douglas was too old for the part. Michael instead cast Jack Nicholson, who would go on to win an Oscar.Over 50 years later, Michael Douglas told Sawyer that telling Kirk Douglas — who died in 2000 at age 103 — that he didn't get the role remains the "hardest thing I ever had to do."In his new memoir, One Helluva Ride, Michael Douglas describes not only the familial relationships he had to navigate throughout his career, but also the personal ones. The Fatal Attraction actor reveals for the first time in the book that he had an affair with his Romancing the Stone co-star Kathleen Turner, an affair they kept secret for 40 years.Michael Douglas told Sawyer that he asked Turner and the other women mentioned in his memoir for their permission before writing about them."These are people I had relationships with over my 82 years and many of them long before Catherine was born," Michael Douglas said, referring to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, his wife of over 25 years, with whom he shares two children."I mean, people date, Diane, they do," he added when asked by Sawyer about the many women named in his memoir.Tune in to Good Morning America on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET on ABC for more of Diane Sawyer's interview with Michael Douglas.Copyright © 2026, ABC Audio. David Ellison, CEO of Paramount Skydance, speaks during CinemaCon 2026 on April 16, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. (David Becker/Getty Images for CinemaCon)After the expected close of the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger, the company will take on a brand-new name.CEO David Ellison has revealed that the company will be known as Skydance. He made the announcement in a post shared to social media on Friday."What once was the peak, is now just the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture. By combining them, we aren't rewriting history — we're equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling," Ellison wrote. The $110 billion merger is expected to finalize on Tuesday. Ellison pursued the merger for approximately a year. Additionally, a two-month delay was caused by antitrust lawsuits from 12 states and the Writers Guild of America.Ellison explained why the name Skydance was chosen."First and foremost, as we bring Paramount and Warner Bros. together, we wanted to preserve what has made each of these studios iconic. Both have distinct identities, extraordinary legacies and brands that have resonated with audiences for generations. We never wanted a new corporate identity to diminish, alter or overshadow either one. Instead, we wanted a name that would give the combined company an identity of its own while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. — and all our extraordinary brands — to remain in the spotlight," Ellison wrote. He continued by writing that he has big goals for Skydance and that he "intends to purse them with passion, imagination and a willingness to take smart risks.""At the same time, we will honor what makes Paramount and Warner Bros. special — giving both studios the opportunity to grow, tell more great stories and bring those stories to even broader audiences around the world, powered by the scale and capabilities of Skydance," Ellison wrote. "I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re going to build together."Ellison founded the film studio Skydance in 2006. Skydance acquired Paramount in August 2025.Copyright © 2026, ABC Audio. Rick Devens wins season 28 of 'Big Brother.' (Matthew Taplinger/CBS)History was made when Rick Devens was crowned the winner of Big Brother season 28 on Thursday night. The 42-year-old father of two is the first former Survivor contestant to win the game. Devens beat out this season’s second-place finisher Taylor Brown in a 6-1 vote. After winning the season's final Head of Household competition, Devens made the decision to betray one of his closest allies, Drew Campbell, by casting the sole vote to evict him.Devens brought Brown to the final two chairs, where Campbell and five other members of the jury — Angela Murray, Barrett Pfeiffer, Yash Patel, Melody Morris and Dee Valladares — voted for Devens to win season 28 of the reality competition series. LaTrice “Lala” Verrett was the only vote for Brown to win the game.In addition to winning the season, Devens became the second person to win both the game and the fan-voted America’s Favorite Player award. The first to do so was season 24 winner Taylor Hale. This means Devens won an extra $50,000 along with his $750,000 grand prize.Additionally, Devens unleashed a twist in the house during the season called The Pharaoh's Curse, where he snagged an additional $10,000. Because of both wins and the additional $10,000, Devens cemented himself as the player to have won the most money in the history of American Big Brother with $810,000.Even more Big Brother is on the way. Host Julie Chen Moonves confirmed that the series has been renewed for two additional seasons, 29 and 30, and promised the audience she will see them back again next summer.
