As a nonprofit organization who helps connect churches to healthy global partnerships, we care about engaging in this space in healthy and meaningful ways. When time, distance, culture, and language barriers aren’t carefully considered, […]

127 Worldwide’s approach to caring for vulnerable communities is rooted in a belief in the imago dei, or the image of God that every person possesses. Watch this video by the Bible Project for their explanation of what the Bible says about being made in the likeness of God. Watch: Image of God Biblical Theme […]

The heartbeat of 127 Worldwide hasn’t changed — we desire to be the bridge that connects people with the goal of empowering vulnerable communities. For fourteen years, short term mission projects (STMPs) have been one critical and effective tool that 127 uses to educate and inspire Christians in America as they connect with our ministry […]

“What do I do now that my sons have been swept away?” The tragic story linked above is only one from over 250,000 people impacted by the widespread devastation caused by flooding in and around Nairobi. This tragedy has not made headlines in the US, but those affected have no choice but to confront the […]

It’s disheartening to hear that the majority of deaf individuals in Guatemala do not participate in church activities due to the lack of accommodations for their language and communication needs. The same statistic rings true for most of the world. Additionally, the absence of support and services for individuals with special needs in the social […]

Your favorite nonprofits need you right now. My fellow nonprofit Executive Director friends are checking on each other these days. 2021 provided an unprecedented year of giving for many organizations. Then 2022 came in like a wrecking ball with increased interest rates, inflation, stock market volatility, and the great resignation. Isn’t this a perfect recipe […]

If you do a quick google search of “voluntourism”, links to some horrifying stories of child exploitation are likely to surface. Orphanages in Cambodia drawing hundreds of altruistic foreigners gained international notoriety in 2017 when it was exposed that a majority of the children they housed weren’t orphans. Some argue that people from other countries […]

This video does an excellent job of introducing how a commitment to human dignity informs the way Christians see material need and address physical poverty. It explores the differences between asset-based development and needs-based development, encouraging us to examine how God has already equipped a community to flourish rather than believing solutions always come from […]
