Below is a story I read in a free e-book I received from <a href=" Product Formula</u></a>. It was so motivating for me, I believe it will do the same for you.....especially if you are in a slump with your online business.<br />
<br />
A factory worker grew tired of working long hours, little pay, and having a tyrant for a boss (<span style="color: #b45f06;">sound familiar?</span>), so he left the city for the country (<span style="color: #b45f06;">wish I could</span>), He wanted to harvest his own crop and reap the wealth of the earth (<span style="color: #b45f06;">don't we all? I remember something about 40 acres and a mule</span>). He took his entire savings and bought a piece of land from a farmer.<br />
<br />
"It's good land," the farmer said. "Lots of potential. It will yield you a decent crop."<br />
<br />
Excited at the idea of one day harvesting a great bounty, the factory worker thanked the farm with a hearty handshake. Then he walked out and sat in the middle of the field. He imagined all the crops he would enjoy.<br />
<br />
Over there would be corn. On the other side carrots and cabbage. On the end, he'd grow turnips. He loved sweet fruit, so he'd have strawberries and blueberries too (<span style="color: #b45f06;">can all of these different types of foods REALLY grow on one piece of land so close together??</span>). It would be pure joy to eat food grown from a field he owned.<br />
<br />
The factory worker spent a long time imagining his harvest. He barely noticed the changes in the weather.<br />
<br />
One crisp cool day, the farmer found him lost in thought in the empty field.<br />
<br />
"Oh hello," the factory work said when he stopped day dreaming long enough to notice the farmer. "What are you doing here?"<br />
<br />
"I got my harvest in. I thought I'd see if you needed a hand with yours."<br />
<br />
The factory worked blinked (<span style="color: #b45f06;">rapidly I suppose</span>). "I don't have one yet. (<span style="color: #b45f06;">no really?</span>)"<br />
<br />
"Didn't you plant any crops?"<br />
<br />
"Well I bought the land, I guess I though..." (<span style="color: #b45f06;">just like a man to think...no offense</span>)<br />
<br />
"You thought that it would grow on it's own?" the farmer asked, mouth dropping in disbelief. (<span style="color: #b45f06;">I would have been rolling on the floor laughing my you know what off!!</span>) <br />
<br />
"It doesn't work that way. The land's just the beginning. You have to put in the work to see a harvest."<br />
<br />
<b>The moral of the story</b>: Just because you started your own business, online or otherwise...doesn't mean you are going to see a profit or be successful. Starting the business is the beginning. Let the real work begin. You will have to invest time and money into educating yourself about business, your target market, your customers AND work to promote and market your products and services. It's a never ending deal.<br />
