After the harsh civil war in the 1970s and 1980s, the country is now experiencing remarkable economic development, especially in the urban areas. On the other hand, the environment surrounding people with disabilities has not improved. AAR Japan is working to promote "inclusive education" where all children, regardless of disabilities, can learn together at school.

Here is a message sent to Japan from a girl who attends an elementary school supported by AAR.

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="879" data-original-width="1300" height="270" src="; width="400" />

Chev will soon go on to junior high school

Hello! My name is Chev, and I'm a 14-year-old sixth-grader at an elementary school in a village, east of Phnom Penh. I should be in junior high school by now, but due to some reasons, I'm a little behind.

I was born with a foot deformity called clubfoot. Even though I could manage to walk, I could not walk long distances because of the pain. Therefore, I had to be picked up and dropped off at elementary school by my parents and sister on their bikes.

I was a little sad because I could not run around and play like my friends, but my family did their best to take care of me. But thanks to the surgery I underwent two years ago, the deformity in my foot is much better, and now I can walk without feeling much pain.

Also, AAR gave me a bicycle so that I could go to school by myself, so I go to school by myself every day, just like other children. When I ride my bike in the wind, it makes me feel fine.

My favorite subject is the national language (Khmer). I love reading books, so I was very happy when many books were delivered to the school library with the support of AAR. When I open a book, I can learn about many different worlds I have never seen before. I always have a hard time deciding which book to read.

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="941" data-original-width="1300" height="290" src="; width="400" />

With my classmates in the classroom

Between classes, I chat with my friends, play games with them, and teach each other what I don't understand in my studies. Sometimes it's a little inconvenient for me to go to the bathroom, so my good friends always help me out, and I really appreciate it.

Next year, I will be junior high school student, and I plan to ride my bicycle four kilometers each way to school. I often teach my sister how to study at home. I feel very happy when teaching someone, so I would like to become a school teacher in the future.

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="918" data-original-width="1300" height="283" src="; width="400" />

Bicycle for school provided by AAR

To all the people in Japan who support us, "Okun chraun! As part of the government's efforts to support education for children with disabilities, which has been actively promoted since the 2000s, the project has provided training to strengthen the capacity of teachers, made school buildings accessible, and conducted awareness raising activities in the community.

Many children with disabilities do not attend school, not because of the disability itself, but due to the lack of understanding of their families and residents, the schools' lack of readiness to accept them, and the lack of appropriate assistive devices to help them attend school.

At the school Chev attends, a class for students with special needs opened in November 2019 with the support of AAR. In addition to providing training to the teachers, AAR also provided teaching materials and equipment. Although elementary schools across Cambodia were temporarily closed due to COVID-19, they were reopened in November 2021 and are now holding classes three days a week.

We would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation in supporting AAR Japan's education for children with disabilities.

2021/12/i-want-to-be-school-teacher-in-future.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (aarjapan)tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3918903085946157784.post-6296574203379464720Mon, 08 Nov 2021 05:52:00 +00002021-11-08T14:52:03.312+09:00Saga Prefecture's Affected Areas: Difficulties Continue After Two Months: Heavy Rainfall in August 2021
More than two months after the torrential rains of August 2021, which caused extensive damage, mainly in Saga Prefecture, many people in the affected areas are still evacuating from their homes on the second floor of their flooded houses. AAR Japan (Association for Aid and Relief, Japan) started its emergency relief activities immediately after the disaster and is currently providing "outreach" support to evacuees at home by delivering boxed lunches and consulting on their problems, as well as providing supplies to local welfare facilities and homes of people with disabilities.

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="945" data-original-width="1260" height="384" src="; width="512" />

AAR's Shinichiro Ohara delivers a boxed lunch to a woman in the Kitagata-Cho, Takeo City.

This summer's torrential rains in Saga prefecture have been characterized by the fact that many victims of the spread of the new coronavirus have not gone to evacuation centers but continued to live as evacuees on the second floor of their flooded homes, unable to use the kitchen on the first floor and forced to live in inconvenient conditions with tatami mats and floorboards removed.

In the Kutsugu area of Takeo City, where 47 out of 64 houses were flooded above floor level, AAR is continuing to serve food to the people based at Mitsuwa, a non-profit organization (Representative: Chiyomi Arakawa) that operates the "Ebisu" home for the aged, and has delivered 1,843 lunch boxes by October 15. The soup kitchens are run in cooperation with the NPO Peace Project (Representative: Mr. Ben Kato), the local community association in the area, Green Coop Saga, and the private volunteer center Omoyai.

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1051" data-original-width="1260" height="414" src="; width="496" />

AAR Director Kato (Representative of NPO Peace Project) serving rice cooked in a rice cooker.

One evacuee in the Kutsugu area said, "Although water and electricity have been restored, the first floor is still without floorboards, so I don't feel like cooking meals there.

In addition to delivering lunch boxes, another critical role of the outreach support is to go door-to-door to ask about problems and gather information about homes of people with disabilities that have become isolated due to lack of support. Based on the interviews and surveys, AAR provides daily necessities to the homes of elderly people who live alone and households of people with disabilities (seven households in Takeo City, Omachi Town, and Kurume City). A father of a single-parent family with a disabled person in Kurume City said, "Our house on the first floor of our apartment building was flooded above floor level, and we were at a loss because we could hardly use our daily necessities. We were barely able to make ends meet, so we are very grateful for the support we received.

In addition, AAR has provided office equipment, farming equipment, and health equipment to four community centers where people with disabilities work to support the restoration and reopening of welfare facilities. A staff member of Kibagon, a community workshop in Omachi run by the NPO Egarite, said, "We were feeling hopeless after the disaster, but with AAR's support, a light of hope has been lit, and smiles have returned to the faces of the users and staff.”

AAR's support activities focus on people with disabilities and the elderly who are placed in the most challenging position during disasters. The situation in the affected areas of Saga is still challenging. We would like to ask for your continued warm understanding and cooperation.

<a href="; target="_blank">Click here to donate.

*If the amount of your donation exceeds the amount needed for the designated emergency relief activities, it will be used for the following emergency relief. Please understand in advance.

*AAR Japan is taking all possible measures to prevent the spread of coronary infections during its relief activities in the affected areas. AAR Japan has formulated its own "Guidelines for Emergency Assistance in Japan under the Influence of New Coronaviruses," referring to the guidelines of related organizations. When staff from the Tokyo Office visit facilities, they wear masks and disinfect their hands after confirming negative PCR results.

2021/11/saga-prefectures-affected-areas.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (aarjapan)tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3918903085946157784.post-8939368751035226496Fri, 10 Sep 2021 07:04:00 +00002021-09-10T16:10:38.994+09:00SudanEthiopian Refugees Forced to Live in Poor Sanitation Areas
The onset of clashes last November between the government forces and armed groups in the northern Ethiopian state of Tigray resulted in an enormous number of displaced people in the neighboring countries. Of these, more than 60,000 have fled to refugee camps in eastern Sudan where the water and sanitation conditions are critically insufficient. Amid the global pandemic, the refugees are also at a high risk of COVID-19 infection as a result. To address these issues, AAR Japan started emergency relief activities such as distributing hygiene kits and installing water tanks in cooperation with a local partner organization.

<span When considering options like dental implants after a bone graft, understanding the process can help alleviate concerns and optimize results. One common question we encounter at Aarohi Dental in New Bedford, MA, is how long after a bone graft one can get a dental implant. Understanding Bone Grafts A bone graft is a procedure in which new bone material is placed into areas of the jaw that have been weakened or damaged, often due to tooth loss or gum disease. When there isn’t enough bone to support a dental implant, a bone graft becomes necessary. This creates a stable base for implants, ensuring longevity and durability. What Is a Bone Graft? Bone grafting involves transplanting bone tissue. This can be done using material from your own body, a donor, or synthetic alternatives. The goal is to rebuild and strengthen the area to facilitate the integration of the new bone over time. When Is It Needed? A bone graft is often needed when there is significant bone loss. This can occur as a natural consequence of tooth loss, as the absence of teeth can lead to resorption of the jawbone over time. A graft helps restore the bone to an appropriate density to support implants effectively. How long after a bone graft can I get an implant? The typical waiting period between a bone graft and getting a dental implant is usually three to six months. This timeframe allows the graft to fully integrate and the bone to regain sufficient strength to support the implant. However, this duration can vary based on several factors. Factors Affecting Timing Individual healing rates, the quality and type of bone graft material used, and overall health can influence recovery time. Some cases may require additional healing time, especially if larger areas of the jawbone need repair. The Dental Implant Procedure Once your dentist confirms that the bone graft has healed sufficiently, the implant process can begin. During this procedure, a titanium post is surgically positioned into the jawbone, serving as the root for the new artificial tooth. The implant will fuse with the bone over several months, a process known as osseointegration. This provides a stable foundation for the final crown, ensuring the implant feels and functions like a natural tooth. Recovery: What to Expect The typical dental implant recovery time after surgery is approximately two weeks. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days, but it’s essential to follow your dentist’s instructions to ensure swift recovery and avoid complications. Tips for a Smooth Recovery Maintain excellent oral hygiene to prevent infection. Avoid hard foods for several days post-surgery. Attend all follow-up appointments with your dentist to monitor healing. Technology and Expertise at Aarohi Dental At Aarohi Dental, we employ cutting-edge technology to ensure precise dental implant placement and expedite recovery times. Our experienced team, led by Dr. Sathish, is committed to personalized patient care, ensuring each treatment plan meets your unique needs. FAQs About Tooth Implants and Bone Grafts How do I know if I need a bone graft? Your dentist will evaluate through imaging and examination. Bone density can dictate the need for grafting. Are there risks involved with bone grafts? As with any surgery, risks exist but are minimized by our expert team. Possible risks include infection or graft failure. What is the success rate of dental implants? With proper care, implants have a success rate of over 95%, offering a durable, lasting solution for missing teeth. Can I get an implant if I have a medical condition? Most conditions are manageable, but a thorough evaluation will determine suitability for implants. How can I prepare for the procedure? Maintaining oral hygiene, discussing any medical concerns with your dentist, and following pre-procedure guidelines ensure optimal outcomes. Patient Success Stories Our patients have seen transformative results with dental implants. Emma, a recent patient, praised the procedure’s positive impact on her life, boosting both functionality and aesthetics. However, like any medical procedure, tooth implants come with their own set of side effects that patients should be aware of before proceeding. Understanding these can help set realistic expectations and prepare you for your recovery journey. Common Tooth Implant Side Effects After getting a dental implant, it’s normal to experience some initial swelling and discomfort at the site of the implant. This is your body’s natural response to the surgery, and it usually subsides within a few days. Bruising around the implant area is also common and can extend to nearby facial tissues. Sensitivity and pain are other side effects that you may encounter. These can vary depending on individual pain thresholds and the extent of the surgery. Using over-the-counter pain medication as prescribed by your implant dentist can effectively manage these sensations. Less Common Dental Implant Concerns While most side effects are mild and temporary, there are less common dental implant concerns that may arise. One such concern is the risk of infection. Proper oral hygiene and diligent adherence to your dentist’s care instructions can significantly reduce this risk. Nerve Damage In rare instances, nerve damage can occur if a dental implant is placed too close to a nerve. This may result in numbness or tingling in the lips, chin, or gums. Prompt communication with your dentist can help address these issues quickly. Sinus Issues With implants in the upper jaw, there is a risk of sinus issues if an implant protrudes into a sinus cavity. This risk is minimized through careful planning and precision in implant placement. Managing Side Effects Managing side effects begins with good post-procedure care. Apply ice packs on the outside of your mouth to reduce swelling, and follow a soft diet to avoid irritation at the implant site. It’s crucial to maintain regular communication with your dentist if any symptoms worsen or persist. Comparing Dental Implants with Other Options When considering tooth replacements, it’s important to compare dental implants with other options. Traditional bridges and dentures, though viable, may not offer the same longevity and natural feel as implants. Implants provide a more permanent solution and can be more cost-effective in the long term due to their durability. Special Considerations in Implant Dentistry At Aarohi Dental, we prioritize customized treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes for each patient. We utilize advanced technology for precise implant placement, enhancing safety and comfort. Clinical experience plays a significant role in successful implant procedures. Our team’s extensive training and expertise in implant dentistry ensure that you receive care tailored to your needs. Expert Tips on Reducing Implant Risks Reducing the risks associated with implants begins with accurate assessment and planning. Regular follow-up visits during the recovery phase allow your dentist to closely monitor the healing process and address any concerns immediately. FAQs About Tooth Implant Side Effects Are implants painful during recovery? Most patients experience mild discomfort, which is manageable with the recommended pain-relief strategies. How long does discomfort last? Swelling and discomfort typically reduce significantly after the first few days, with complete recovery in a few weeks. Can implants affect surrounding teeth? Properly placed implants should not affect surrounding teeth. Regular dental visits ensure that everything remains healthy. What are the signs of infection post-surgery? Signs include persistent pain, pus discharge, or fever. Consult your dentist if you notice these symptoms. Understanding tooth implant side effects is crucial for a smooth recovery and long-term success of your dental investment. At Aarohi Dental, we guide you every step of the way to ensure a comfortable experience with outstanding outcomes. A common question among patients is the maximum time interval between a bone graft and a dental implant procedure. Both play vital roles in achieving a successful implantation. What is a Bone Graft? A bone graft is a surgical procedure that uses transplanted bone to repair and rebuild diseased or damaged bones in your jaw. It’s necessary when a patient’s jawbone isn’t thick enough or is too soft to support an implant. There are various types of bone grafts, including autografts, allografts, and xenografts, each with its benefits and considerations. Why Bone Grafting Before Dental Implants? The main reason for a bone graft before dental implants is to ensure there is adequate bone to support the implant. This additional procedure enhances the likelihood of a successful long-term outcome by providing a solid foundation. Factors Affecting the Timeframe The healing process varies from patient to patient. Factors that may influence healing include the quality and density of the patient’s original bone, health conditions such as diabetes, and overall physical well-being. Maximum Time Between Bone Graft and Dental Implant Generally, the time between a bone graft and a dental implant can range from four months to a year. However, this timeframe is flexible and determined by the healing process and the quality of the graft. The Role of Dental Implant Timing Proper timing ensures the implant integrates well with the bone, reducing the risks of complications. By evaluating several factors, including the patient’s health and bone condition, the correct timing is paramount for success. What to Expect After a Bone Graft Post-procedure, it is essential to follow care instructions closely to ensure successful healing. Look for signs such as stability at the grafting site and minimal discomfort, which indicate that healing is on track. Evaluation Process for Implants A comprehensive evaluation using advanced technology can determine the readiness for dental implants. At Aarohi Dental, we use these evaluations to tailor treatment plans to each patient’s needs. Personalized Treatment Planning at Aarohi Dental Our specialized care approach ensures that each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their individual needs and conditions. Choosing Aarohi Dental means opting for quality, experience, and successful outcomes. Frequently Asked Questions What if my graft doesn’t heal? Sometimes, additional procedures may be required. As with any procedure, risks exist but are minimal with proper care. When can I get a second opinion? Anytime you feel unsure, discussing it with a trusted professional can ease your uncertainty. Impact on Oral Functionality Missing teeth can significantly impact oral functionality. When you’re missing a tooth, simple activities like chewing or speaking can become challenging, potentially affecting your diet and social interactions. These gaps can cause other nearby teeth to shift, which may further impair your bite and alignment. Aesthetic Concerns Beyond functionality, aesthetics play a substantial role in dental health. Missing teeth can create spaces that alter the structure of your face, leading to changes in your smile and overall appearance. This can have psychological effects, impacting self-confidence and sometimes leading to social withdrawal. Oral Health Complications The absence of a tooth can lead to several oral health issues. These include misalignment from shifting teeth, an increased risk of cavities, and gum disease from food accumulation in missing spaces. Additionally, bone loss in the jaw can occur over time without the stimulation provided by tooth roots. Options for Tooth Replacement Dental Implants Dental implants are a robust and durable solution. They function like a natural tooth root, supporting crowns and preserving jawbone density. At Aarohi Dental, we use advanced technology to ensure precision and comfort during implant procedures. Bridges Bridges are used to replace one or more consecutive missing teeth. They are anchored to healthy neighboring teeth or implants and can improve bite and aesthetics. Dentures Dentures come in full or partial sets and offer a removable solution for replacing missing teeth. Modern dentures fit securely and are designed to look and feel natural. Benefits of Tooth Replacement The benefits of tooth replacement go beyond aesthetics. Restoring missing teeth ensures better oral function, helping you chew and speak effectively. There are many ways to make money and some are more successful than others. One simple way to double your income is to do what you love. At first glance, making more money by doing something you truly enjoy seems like an idea that is fun to hear, but not practical for most people. As you examine further, you will discover that using this method to double your income may be a practical and powerful method to gaining financial freedom. The first thing you need to do is change the way you think. Most people believe that certain things we do for money, like work, and other things we do for fun, like watch sports. This may be true, but have you ever asked yourself why you could not work doing something you love? Take a moment and think about something you really enjoy. Now that you have it in your head, look at that thing as an idea or opportunity to work in a field that involves what you are thinking of. For example, if you love watching sports, think of ways you can get paid to watch sports. In that example, there are literally hundreds of ways to earn money by watching sports. Become a sports writer, or freelance photographer. You can work for a professional sports team. Work at a local school as a coach, or open a sports bar if you are an entrepreneur. The idea is that by looking at that thing you love in a different way, you can discover the unlimited possibilities for earning money while doing something you love. Wealth secrets really have nothing to do with the amount of money you are making. It’s all about doing what you love. I met this couple that couldn’t understand why things weren’t working for them. Last year, they set a goal to get out of debt. A year later, the husband found himself in a well-paying job that he hated. He was faced with a job offer for a job that he liked but would cut his salary in half. Although he loved the job, he didn’t see how this would help them with their end goal of getting out of debt. From my perspective, it seemed easy. All he had to do was take the biggest wealth secret of all of them. Do what you love. I asked him to tell me what he loved about his current job and his new job. He could only come up with one thing that he loved about his current job. And to no surprise, it was the amount of money he made. The new job offer had a strong list of several things that he loved doing, but, again, it cut his income in half. All it took was a change of perspective for him to see the most profitable wealth secret. I asked him, “What do you think will happen a year from now, if you stay at this job?” He told me that he would be depressed and quit his job. If he didn’t quit his job, he might end up having an affair because it was driving a wedge in his marriage. Then I asked, “What do you think might happen if you took this other job?” He told me he would be happy doing what he did. In fact, he might be so happy he could see the possibility of getting a promotion, a raise, and even making more time to spend with his wife. After that, the answer seemed simple. If he did what he loved, the wealth secrets to get out of debt would come to him naturally. Take one step in a positive direction, and everything else starts to fall in place. It’s time to end your life of messes, weight problems, and even relationship problems. Start your new beginning by discovering what it is you love. To find out universal wealth secrets, it’s all in you. You just need to take the first steps. If you love reading, being creative, or just spending quality time with your significant other, when is the last time that you did it? Of course you want to do more of what you love and less of what you don’t. It’s customary and habitual to think that this might be difficult to accomplish, since most of us spend so much time at our workplace and very little outside of it. Wealth secrets are simple. Take what you love and combine it with how you make money. If your car or truck does not have enough motor oil, it does not run smoothly. An improper mix of ingredients when preparing your favorite dish would make it not quite as tasty. And if you are out of balance, you cannot function at your best. That is why creating balance in your life will help you double your income. In the English language, the word “appreciate” has dual meanings. The first is to increase in value or appreciate. The second is to express gratitude. As it relates to your finances, we often talk about things depreciating, or losing value. In the world of finance, in order to show a profit or potential gain in something, you must increase values commensurate with, or preferably in excess of, any depreciation or loss of value. In other words, in order to gain, there must be at minimum a balance between appreciation, and depreciation. This correlation is fairly obvious to most of us, in that we understand we need to take in more money than we spend in order to see a positive return of investment. What we do not often realize is the emotional need for balance in our lives. We deal with so many things that take away from our emotional well being that our self-esteem may suffer. We find ourselves taking mental inventory of things like our debt, our too-high mortgage rates, and so on. These things adversely affect how we feel about ourselves, thus creating an emotional deficit or the depreciation of our self-worth. In other words, we have become our own worst critics in self-evaluation and reflection, to the point that we create emotional imbalances in how we view ourselves. We tend to dwell on who we are not, or what we have failed to accomplish. The best way to restore balance in our emotional well-being is to offset the self-inflicted emotional depreciation with appreciation. We show gratitude for things we have, people we love and the things we accomplish. This action, this showing of gratitude is the opposite of emotional depreciation. When both elements are present in our lives, we create a more balanced emotional state, and restore a more functional order in our own self-esteem. The balance created by having appreciation and depreciation present in our lives means that we will view ourselves in a positive light as often as we do in a negative light. Simply put, we will function better. In so doing, we are better equipped to accomplish more for ourselves than if we were operating from an imbalanced place. When our mind is operating from a balanced emotional state, we are able to more easily accomplish the daily action steps we have set out for ourselves. We begin to use the momentum created by goal accomplishment, and are able to propel ourselves to new heights emotionally, physically and financially. This more functional balance of appreciation and depreciation can help you double your income in the long run. Individuals promise themselves that they will go on a diet, exercise more, stop smoking or make more money. Each person really means it at the time but about 90% of them fail. You may even be one of them. The good news is, there’s a reason this keeps happening to you – and you can do something about it. If you have ever failed at sticking to a New Year’s resolution, diet program, or other self-improvement project… the first mistake was making a change without planning for it. You probably assumed that willpower alone would be enough when, in fact, you were making it much harder for yourself. After all, there were people, things and events in your life that encouraged the very behavior you were looking to change. If you’ve been to a workshop, seminar or coaching program you’ve probably seen that your resolve, energy level and sense of commitment are extremely high at the time; that’s because you were away from your normal environment. Once you returned to your own reality the desire and wherewithal begin to fade to the point where you may not have done even one of the things you swore you would during the session. It’s incredibly important to identify and eliminate the things that aren’t productive in your environment and replace them with things that are. For example, if you’re trying to lose weight you may find that part of your problem is eating too quickly in front of the television. If you sit somewhere else, or have dinner with a spouse or friend, you are apt to find yourself eating less junk food, slowing down so you feel full on less, etc. Staying away from negative people and activities is also crucial. You want people who say, “yes you can,” not “no, you can’t.” Stress is another strong prompt to resume unproductive habits so wherever you can avoid that annoying acquaintance, refuse to engage with a business partner who loves to argue or stop discussing finances during dinner. You will be amazed at how many of these circumstances you can change. Also recognize that the few you can’t are going to prompt ingrained habits that impede success. If you have a plan in place you will have tools and new behaviors to help you respond differently. The other significant mistake most people make is that they really don’t hold themselves accountable. They convince themselves there are no great consequences to their actions or non-actions. For example, one day you may say. “Got to get something else done, so I can’t today, I’ll be better tomorrow.” Then tomorrow comes and you find another excuse not to do what you promised you would. Accountability is the most important aspect of the way we interact with others. Government gets held accountable, as do corporations who have to answer to disgruntled shareholders and teachers give demerits to school children that don’t turn homework in on time. People need to understand that personal accountability is just as crucial to attaining business and personal success. When we don’t keep our promises we are met with our own fate. We don’t get healthier and our lives don’t get better. People stop trusting us, especially in business. Even something you see as a small issue, like being chronically late, can have a tremendous effect on what people think about you. After all, when you can’t even keep your promise to be on time it colors the decisions others make about giving you added responsibilities and opportunities. In sum, if you’re not your word, what are you? Here are three key ways to set up a positive environment and mental framework for being accountable on a sustainable basis: 1. Break long term goals down into monthly, weekly and daily commitments for yourself. 2. Find an “accountability partner” and set up a process for saying your goals aloud to that person every day. Make sure he or she also knows how well you did at meeting yesterday’s objectives. 3. Set up consequences for not meeting your goals. It can be as simple as not playing golf that day or not buying something you want. With the right environment and accountability process in place you will be ready to set much bigger goals and meet them.
