I was watching this commercial with that dirty player who happens to be likable that plays in the NFL, Clay Matthews, as opposed to Suh or Harrison from the Lions and Bengals.

I got rid of my "Nerd Cave" in a few moves towards being an actual grown up who could a) play a video game in a dining room and b) have a big ass flat screen TV that my wife could watch HGTV on without needing me to deactivate my "Non Geek Destructo Ray".

Now that I don't have a Nerd Cave though, I'm imagining remaking one (when I buy a house) and I think I have the rough workings of a plan. I want to know what yours will be (5 details) but here's mine (media server and big screen TV are obvious).

1. Location: A tree house

2. Well this is one of those moments and one of those blogs.

<a href=" />

So basically a study was done by Social Scientists in Europe that confirms a thing that I have been hearing for about the last year from people around the shop. Now our conversations surround the downloading of printed material but I think the conclusions reached matter.

I get asked how much impact of digital comics has impacted my Brick and Mortar comic cook retail business. My quick and dirty observation is probably about as much as broke customer "moving back home" does.

People have been telling me that instead of primarily shifting all of their comics purchases to digital download, they sample things they aren't sure they''d want to own a physical copy of and if they really like it SOMETHING HAPPENS.

There was a point about a year and a half ago where people told me the thing that would happen was they'd keep buying the series digitally. NOW we've reached a point where people are trying a series online, hearing their friends talk about a series and then coming into the shop to buy the collected versions of that series.

Apparently there is so much competition for their eyeballs on a screen that they can't wait to have that experience of buying SOMETHING in it's collected form. Now this is not according to my barely scientific research, a slam against digital. It seems like it's more of a move to ensure that if a consumer who may be prone to buying digitally is going to own something, then it had better be considered really good by the community. Community in this case is a group of peers and recommenders.

How does this relate to the study mentioned above? Simple, we're not idiots. We all know damn well that everyone who talks to us about their digital comics isn't buying them legally. Some of those folks have got to be using some swank (and at this stage in the game, rather simple) piracy skills to stay abreast of what's going on in comics.

Currently there are upwards of 150 different monthly comics titles on my shelves. a full 30 of them are Batman or X-Men related and while retailers and fans alike would live for all of these comics to be home runs, retailers and fans alike know good and damn well that this is not going to happen. Of the books on my shelves I'd only count about 25 of them as HOME RUN titles. That leaves a lot of room for doubt in the minds of consumers. Room for doubt and a lack of depth in the pockets is room room for piracy.

Since not every pirate hangs out with only pirates, the pirates talk about comics with non pirates and they themselves become recommenders. Having a few less places to pirate COULD delay piracy and alter the established trajectory of SEE> TELL>BUY.

I guess my ultimate point here is that I think it's plausible. No one wants to give pirates credit for anything positive because they are pirates but everyone uses them for something or another.

www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2013/08/pirates-can-be-usefulsort-ofmaybe.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-8480445902530415989Wed, 20 Mar 2013 16:56:00 +00002013-03-20T09:56:44.464-07:00A Super Character Draft Pt. 1 (Betsy's Team)On Saturday night, the Chicago Comic Book Meetup group met at Third Coast Comics in Chicago. Generally we just have comics related discussion over beers but this time we did something different.

We held a Super Character Draft with the idea being that when we were done we'd pitch a comic to the group. There were 13 participants and 15 rounds.

The Rules:

Each team must have a supporting character.

Each team must have 1 real life person who has appeared in a comic book at least once.

Note: During the draft players were precluded from picking me as I have been in a comic book. Points to you if you happen to own one of those rare works of art.

The 1st pick was Betsy and here is her team:

Muhammed Ali
Superman
Power Girl
Judge Dredd
Sif
Alfred
Batwoman
Kamandi
Gene Simmons
Atomic Robo
Guy Gardner
Dracula
Fin Fang Foom
Sinestro
Devil Dinosaur

The Pitch:

Justice League meets Lost.

Sinestro gets a new ring, an iridescent "Time Ring" and uses it to manipulate the timeline.

The Justice League is tries to stop him, but he uses the ring to send several members (Guy Gardner, Superman, Power Girl) "away."

"Away" is the Land of the Lost, Sleestaks and all. This is comics. MOST comic book readers/buyers are going to be straight white males but given the efforts of publishers and fans even on smaller scales, this is changing and faster than DC seems to be willing to admit.

DC didn't just hire a famous writer who annoyed people to write Superman. Comic book companies seem to troll Hollywood for leftover plot ideas, leaping from the minds of vain celebs all the time. That could have been Kevin Smith or Michael Bay. People on the Internet and in comic shops would have had all sorts of gripes but everyone would have gotten past it pretty quickly.

These guys went for OSC and I have to believe someone in a meeting said, "You do know this guys is ON RECORD as a champion anti-gay bigot don't you?" I'd be willing to bet someone then explained that OSC and some other more desired writer shared an agent or something and if they hired OSC, they could get BIG FISH X to come on board for a Batman GN in time for Christmas!"

Note: Mark the date down so that when the announcement happens, you know I called it.

The problem with OSC goes beyond bigotry on the part of the politics and finances of the writer. The problem goes to the alleged efforts the publisher has made towards respecting and promoting diversity. it's as if DC has said, "Come on people, it's not like we've been cancelling comics starring minority characters, which we KNOW tend to have a hard time maintaining traction in a market dominated by white male reader dollars."

DC is hiring people and making business decisions as if each one takes place in a vacuum but for how much longer is this a viable option or way of approaching the quest for sales?

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="; width="320" />

www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2013/02/the-problem-with-orson-scott-card.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-3628979411417413867Fri, 22 Feb 2013 18:55:00 +00002013-02-26T19:11:56.882-08:00We the People vs. Bigotry
(posted here because the FB link on twitter just goes to the HRC)

I'll try and make this simple. With all the publicity Orson Scott Card has gotten for being a bigot and getting to write a Superman story, Challengers Comics decided to give the proceeds of any Card Superman stories sold to the Human Rights Campaign.

Apparently some folks on Tumblr and FB don't understand how fighting bigotry works and have been giving Patrick a little bit of lip about it (in typical Internet fashion).

I happen to think Challengers is on the right path with this and fuck bigotry so therefore Third Coast Comics will also donate 100% of the profits of any copies we sell of Orson Scott Card's Superman to the Human Rights Campaign.

Personally this is why we read the exploits of superheroes, right? To be inspired to fight against injustice and inequality wherever we see it.

I don't see this as mixing business with politics. I see this as mixing business with human rights.

The damn books is gonna blow anyway.

<a href="; rel="nofollow nofollow" style="color: #3b5998; cursor: pointer; text-decoration: initial;" target="_blank"> class="blogger-post-footer">www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2013/02/we-people-vs.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-3331689885646259425Thu, 29 Nov 2012 22:30:00 +00002012-11-29T14:30:28.879-08:00Mission: Be Better FansRecently quite a bit of attention has been given to so comic book industry professionals who have found ways to simultaneously toss a nerd hand grenade and then throw themselves on the same hand grenade.

I'm finding it all to be sort of tiresome and I'm not posting links. You can find it yourself.

One minute we're all having a good time bitching about the quality of our comics and the next we're making each other prove their loyalty to the genre itself.

One minute we're pissed that Magneto is breaking up threesomes and the next, we're mad that some little know film maker said a few years ago that he'd love to have sex with some fictional characters but not others, in a way that makes me pretty sure I never want to see his search history or look in that box in his closet behind his old luggage.

I'm pretty sure there was a time when these things didn't happen in public but I can't tell you when that was.

I'm not really one to want to take a bullet for jack asses in our business but I will say it might be time for us all to help kill this before it grows.

Can we become better fans?

I own a comic book retail shop and when I hear someone in the shop making juvenile comments about characters (or worse, actual people), I pretty much let them know that we're really not in the mood for it.

There's a certain level of discourse I can deal with and believe me the bar is NOT very high but I don't need to constantly hear jokes about Power Girl's boobs or Batwoman's sexual orientation.

If you have friends who read comics and all they want to talk about is having their way with Thor, feel free to change the conversation to something like the current market value of Avengers Mansion or whether or not Nightwing is the sort of guy who'd get to a crime scene in a hybrid.

I already have standard responses for when someone tells me DC hates women or that the comics industry hates Black characters and people.

I do realize for us to all be consistent, we'll have to cut our fanfic consumption WAY down. You fans of Sherlock are SCREWED if you want things to get better.

Make no mistake, I like when we fans can think outside the box. I like when we deconstruct our favorite hobbies and cobble them back together in our own image. Ask me how often I recreate wrestling stables of the past with current wrestlers! We love to engage in dumb navel gazing nerd pursuits. It just seems that now we've hit a point where the things we'd have just said to our friends when drunk in the back yard are coming out of our mouths sober and on the Internet.

Can all of you help all of us be better fans? When you see a chick cosplaying Zatanna, Phoenix, Black Cat, American Maid, Batwoman, Maria Hill, Spider-Woman, Harley Quinn, Misty Knight, She Hulk, Firestar, or Dawnstar, just respond like you do when you see that dude cosplaying Fat Punisher or Fat Superman, Fat Shazam or Granny Goodness:

"Hey, nice job." - Meaning it

"Hey, nice job." - Totally faking it

"Scuse me Bro, can I check and see if there's a decent copy of Legion of Super-Heroes #294 in that box behind you?" - Meaning that shit because that's really what we're all at the show for.

At the next C2E2, I'm gonna post up somewhere and thank all of you geeks just for showing up. I won't even talk mad shit about that giant ass statue of Lorne Greene as Adama that you are wheeling out of the show or call too much attention to the fact that you stood in line for 2 hours and paid a lot of money to see "Celebrity X" when for the price of a martini you could have waited and met them at the bar.

I used to think that we needed to do all we could to make sure we even had a generation of comic book fans after us. Now I'm a bit more concerned about whether or not we can have decent conversations with the ones we still have right now!

Lets be better fans so I don't have to see people openly declaring that NOW they can't BARE to pay actual money for Guardians of the Galaxy while at the same time asking me if there will ever be a hard cover for All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder...

Yes...I'm leaving that right there....

Me and you...better fans...for our FUTURE!

www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2012/11/mission-be-better-fans.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-2228079631010172852Thu, 13 Sep 2012 03:24:00 +00002012-09-12T20:24:35.456-07:00DC ComicsEarth 2James RobinsonRecent Reads #2: Earth 2 #0I can remember when this particular wave of DC New 52 comics was announced months ago, being told by many people that they didn't think it would work. I know some folks just aren't so happy with James Robinson in the last few years and I have been defending his work for I can't even tell you how long.

The most common comment is that everyone LOVED Starman. My most common follow-up is Get over it.

I really thing James Robinson is an amazing writer that I'd love to see work with a small core cast and get the space to tell sprawling stories about everything from Legacy to Regret to Acceptance of the roles of heroes.

Please, Mr Robinson, take me through the 12 steps of becoming a super person!

Full disclosure: I couldn't get through his JLA run. I felt it was wordier than a latter day Chris Claremont Comic and that penciller Mark Bagley was not the best fit.

Not trying to bitch about it but I will do another post about what I;d have LOVED to see in that run.

On to why you should be reading Earth Two (start at #0 if you have to).

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="; width="208" />

The New 52: Lemme Splain You -

Multiverse - It's a concept that's been around as long as any of you have been reading books aimed at nerds. There are many universes. The writers focus on one and sometimes bounce you over to another where shit is just different. Like the Star Trek Mirror Universe or the Cosby Show after Lisa Bonet slept with Mickey Rourke.

DC has one of those again. There are 52 Universes in their Multiverse (so far) and Earth 2 is...the 2nd one...yeah...

Now, on this Earth, in this Universe, SUPERMAN, BATMAN, and WONDER WOMAN are DEAD!!!!

They died defending Earth and that left Earth with a void of heroes and SO Robinson is reintroducing characters from DC's past as modern day heroes who develop sans a Holy Trinity of Heroes!!!!

Here's why you should pay attention:

In a "normal" Multiversal situation the differences are generally rather subtle. Superman has salt and pepper grey and Batman has a dog named Ace.

In THIS Earth 2, Their new version of Terry Sloane (Mr Terrific) has adopted an Ozymandias like role of "I know what's best for you and yeah you may have to die" which is a perfect background for this title.

Think the Other Universe in Fringe!!!

I LOVE` this book and you should budget for it!

www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2012/09/recent-reads-2-earth-2-0.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-8333763061753520382Thu, 13 Sep 2012 02:44:00 +00002012-09-12T19:57:35.809-07:00DC ComicsDCNew52Phantom StrangerRecent Reads: Phantom Stranger #0Dear Comic Book Fans: There is Hope - Stop Bitching

I don't really expect to keep this up but I'm gonna try and lets see how long it lasts.

The Internet has proven to be a place where fans can just rip everything endlessly but I'm feeling mad positive about my comics these days so I'm gonna try and give all of you my opinion of books that MIGHT be on your shelves and why you may want to give them a shot.

I'll start with books that came in recently and then in an update, I'll try and get to this week's books:

<a href="; imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="; width="208" />

OK so yeah, the scuttlebutt is correct, THIS NEW`DC version of the Phantom Stranger is Judas, who is being made to atone for his crime by doing deeds in the service of what we can only assume to be some sort of "Lords of Order".

I have to tell you that the book was good anytime character were not actually speaking. I was wondering about what I could only see as foreshadowing of some possible story elements! That's a good thing. Then...dialog.

The dialog was distractedly bad BUT I'll give DC mad props for introducing the Spectre to the New 52 without attaching him to Earth 2 (which I LOVE). Go read it...just not too closely.

www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2012/09/recent-reads-phantom-stranger-0.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-3835231614795085305Fri, 10 Feb 2012 20:53:00 +00002012-02-10T13:35:56.107-08:00DC RelaunchPower GirlWorlds FinestWorld's Finest Ways to Make Sure Fans are Never HappyI'm gonna keep this short and sweet.

Well...I'm gonna keep this short and sweet for me...

DC's just released an image for World's Fines, starring Power Girl and Huntress, which is a lynchpin of DC's "Second Wave" of comics in their New 52 relaunch.

Here: />

<a href=" style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="; alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5707618513862564018" border="0" />

Fans have been clamoring for a return of fan fave Power Girl since the relaunch happened in September but now the internet is abuzz with "WTF" comments about the new look of Power Girl.

I can explain the look in a few different ways:

1) This look is VINTAGE George Perez. Perez is generally a product of the 70's and 80's in comics and in my mind he's a legend but if you hire a legend, you'll get what that legend does.

2) DC may be a bit self conscious about it's image as it relates to the ladies after last summer's kerfuffle about how they clearly don't like the ladies as evidenced by them working everywhere but DC, Catwoman's libido and whatever the shit was happening in Red Hood and the Outlaws #1 Featuring Starfire as played by Torrie Spelling.

Now Power Girl is back and it's possible that fandom has crawled so far up DC's crack that it has run away from the one thing that it had working for it.

History.

Power Girl is sort of a breakout character of DC's last decade and while many casual fans didn't understand the "boob window", it was as much a part of her look as Batman's arm thingies or Superman's red undies. It was sort of like that rope around Captain Marvel's neck.

No one knows why it's there but they miss it when it's gone.

I don't really want to bash this outfit too much but I do know that the most important thing about Power Girl in this story is that she and Huntress are trying to find their way back to their own dimension and she doesn't need a new and totally foreign look to do that.

This outfit is a space suit with a cape and that "P" symbol screams 1985 to me. I'm a huge Legion of Super Heroes fan and I bet this suit would look GREAT on Phantom Girl. In fact, it's the sort of thing that folks will wear in the year 3012 when capes and monogram clothing are as much a part of our lives as zippers and cell phones.

DC needed to bring Power Girl back but they didn't need to scrap the old look so completely. Especially if they were allowing Perez to add those HR Geiger inspired bracelets and boots.

I don't know. I like the new 52 and I expect good things from this book but DC needs to stop battling itself when the internet screams "YOU HATE US" and stick to what works best for it, which is great characters being done by great creators.

Soon, this costume will, like many of the Jim Lee redesigned outfits of other New DC characters, look pretty dated.

Power Girl's outfit here is so off the mark that I'm shocked she doesn't have a high collar.
www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2012/02/worlds-finest-ways-to-make-sure-fans.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-6946403787290348460Thu, 13 Oct 2011 19:10:00 +00002011-10-13T12:59:44.464-07:00DC ComicsKids ComicsWhat DC missed: KIDS!!!!!So we're all done with the 1st Month of the new 52 (and we're like 2 weeks past that) and it hit me that what was really missed was a chance to take on the one challenge DC said they really wanted to address, NEW READERS!

Now I know DC meant folks maybe younger than me who missed out on comics but why not go WAY younger and commit to 10 comics that are all ages that start fresh and are told in the "One and Done" format.

What do they have to lose really? They just committed to 52 books and I know they will have to axe 10 of those if they want to keep the quality up so here's what I propose:

10: Batman: The Brave and the Bold - It's a team up book and the book exists now and already works and you can just throw in kids versions of character that appear in the New 52 pretty much as they appear. In the 1st 3 issues, Batman can team up with Blue Beetle, Sinestro, and even Animal Man.

9: Young Justice: I don't care if ewe have the Teen Titans or not BUT, since the cartoon is still on, lets keep that book going. Young Heroes and Sidekicks having adventures!

8: Wonder Woman: When was the last time there was a Wonder Woman comic on the stands that a little girl in a comic shop could actually read? No offense to the great job that Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang are doing on the main WW book but a horse got his head chopped off all bloody like. Not for kids...

7: Legion of Superheros: Yeah I know the show got canceled a few years ago BUT this gives you lots of diversity and can be told in a "There's hope for the future" sort of way. Also it's KIDS HAVING ADVENTURES...IN THE FUTURE!!!!

6: The Power of SHAZAM: What the shit is the reason for not having at the very least a kids focused book about the adventures of Billy Batson, a kid given the powers he'd need to solve problems by the gods themselves!!!

5: Young Frankenstein and the Agents of Shade: Yeah I just bastardized the title of the main book but whatever. Make Frankenstein a kid monster and send him on missions with kid vampires, ghosts, wolf men and whatever!!! DO IT!

4: Tiny Titans: Well if this book gets canceled MFers would lose their shit. The soccer moms in the area of my store would do horrible things to their ex husbands. Can't let that happen.

3: Justice League of America: Ok so JLU is off the air and I'm mostly over it but kids should have a Justice League comic to read that isn't as campy as the Superfriends and isn't going to be as prone to darkness for the sake of darkness like Identity Crisis. How about a JLA book that tells the sorts of stories from the 1st 200 issues of the original DC JLA comic?

2: Superman: Because what kid doesn't like Superman! This also gives DC the ability to do what the Brave and the Bold comic does with guest stars. I'm really interested in Mr. Miracle, Orion and some of the other Jack Kirby creations.

1: Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew: Look, you may think it's silly but trust me. Put this book in the hands of a 6 year old and you'll have his families cash for life.

here: read this: />
<a href=" style="cursor: pointer; width: 263px; height: 400px;" src="; alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5663068728334739922" border="0" />
www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2011/10/what-dc-missed-kids.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-3280194910570634734Wed, 03 Aug 2011 21:12:00 +00002011-08-03T15:38:15.007-07:00Spider-ManTHIS IS THE SPIDERMAN OF COLOR: Now go away!Ok look, most of you are not reading OR BUYING Spider-Man comics these days and you haven't been for some time so after reading the stupid comments from the general public and the poorly written stories from the media in general, I'd like to explain things to you in the most basic form possible.

I lack sock puppets so here goes this.

The Contents of Comic Books are not real. They are just stuff written on stuff to talk about stuff.

Some cool people like stuff.

Marvel Comics is a company in the business of making comic books. I have already spoken as to the nature of where comic books fit into things that are real but I'll elaborate for the racists who are probably reading this, not knowing they've pissed me off.

Things that count in science (and are not theoretical):

People: Einstein, Newton and Hawking for example

Places: CERN, Pangea, Easter Island and Madame Currie's Lab.

Things: Bricks, Dolphins, Ice Cream, Sushi, Lesbians and the paper that makes comic books.

Things that science nerds like but may or not be real/possible:

Alternate Universes, Dark Matter and Time Travel, the contents of comic books (depending on your level of socialization)

Things that science would tell you are real:

Matter, Energy, Emotions of Stupid Mother Fuckers who don't buy comics

Now then, Marvel Comics as a company have created several alternate universes. For all intents and purposes lets call the one where Spider-Man is alive and still white, the M616 universe. This is how comic book fans think of it.

The Spider-Man you saw in movies and TV is not the M616 universe. Those were movies and TV and the people who make that stuff think not very much about what nerds think. They love their bank accounts more than they love your comic book continuity.

One of the universes that Marvel Comics created went through some major upheaval recently and because it's fairly new and NOT the main universe, this is ok. Let us call this universe MU2000 (Marvel Ultimate 2000) since 2000 was about the year this universe was created.

We have come to a point where Peter Parker in the MU2000 universe is dead as a doornail but the M616 Peter Parker is STILL alive and white (I state the latter because that matters to some of you idiots).

THIS IS THE SPIDER-MAN of MU2000

<a href=" style="cursor: pointer; width: 297px; height: 218px;" src="; alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5636752375404826754" border="0" />

Now we know there just happen to be some people out there in the world who can't stand when something from their childhood changes or goes away. For this reason I think we still have things like all the stuff from the childhood of anyone 35-105 that folks haven't gotten over to the tune of giving something new a chance because their racist and withered hearts are full of poo.

For those of you with poo in your hearts, you blow BUT generally the M616 universe is still there for you. Peter Parker is alive and well and he's doing stuff.

Here he is:

<a href=" style="cursor: pointer; width: 291px; height: 440px;" src="; alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5636755220550547426" border="0" />

Lets be honest, there's a white man under that mask for damn sure.

Now, knock yourselves out.

Now, as Spider-Man goes, I don't really care because I'm not that big a fan BUT I do care that assholes run to the damn internets anytime they hear that a fictitious White person has bought the farm, only to have a similarly fictitious Black/Hispanic person pick up the mantle. The bigot rage is so strong sometimes that you'd think a comic book company was about to have an encounter with a iceberg ala Titanic and sink into an ocean of ill thought out futurism.

In reality if Glen Beck (who bitched and blamed this all on Michelle Obama) and the majority of you racist jag bags out in internet land actually spent money on half the shit you showed indignation about, the world would come closer to resembling your world view. It does not because you are assholes and the universe hates you. You also have ugly feet.

Ok to summarize. Spider-Man is only "Black-Spanic" in an alternate univere of a thing that is also not real.

Comic books, while not being real, are still composed of matter and the energy contained within is still great, especially when a bunch of racist ass goblins decide they'll leave my favorite hobby to me and my friends.

For the record, I count among my friends the following types of people:

Blacks
Whites
Asians
Aliens, illegal or otherwise
Gays
Dems
Reps
a Libertarian
Some dumb folks
Smart folks
Scientists
This one chick from Germany
Geeks
Nerds
Some kids from Jersey
The Jewish Girl from Texas
Small Town girls who love beer
People with feelings
People in recovery
Pro comic book artists
Less than pro comic book artists
My Sister with lupus
My Sister who likes jean skirts
Radio personalities
Sports radio listeners
Catholics
Pagans
Travelers
Homebodies
Knitters
Boozers
Believers in the Power of Metal
Some Haters
and anyone who reads this and knows where I'm coming from.

If you can't accept that Spider-Man can be brown in some other made up universe then you are an ass and when you move to Asslandia, we will not miss you.
www.thirdcoastcomics.com
2011/08/this-is-spiderman-of-color-now-go-away.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Anonymous)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7630194366723823977.post-1059488485116821873Fri, 24 Jun 2011 17:59:00 +00002011-06-24T11:02:59.854-07:00BatgirlBatmanBatwingBatwomanBirds of PreyDC RelaunchNightwingDC Relaunch: The Bat-Network
If all the pals of Batman had their own searchlight signals, the skies over Gotham would look like Vegas!

Batwing by Judd Winnick and Ben Oliver

TF: I’m glad later press releases narrowed this down to a fictional city in the Congo rather than “The Batman of Africa.” I hear that place is pretty big.

DM: I don’t give a shit. School violence, whether it is assault, domestic violence, or active shooters, remains a real and significant threat across the nation. Because of this, school administrators are heightening their security focus in student housing facilities with an emphasis on comprehensive commercial video surveillance systems. The High Cost of School Violence The true cost of school violence is incalculable. There is no way to measure the loss of human life or the lasting impact of violence in any form. There is also the resulting financial cost. We have all seen it many times when unsafe conditions result in lawsuits that could have been avoided. College and universities have a huge responsibility of not only providing a quality education, but also a safe housing environment, and are now embracing both of those roles. The Importance of Video Surveillance Systems For Student Housing Video surveillance systems aid in significantly enhancing safety in student housing in many ways. Here are just a few examples: The presence of video surveillance Can discourage unruly behaviors Is known to decrease incidents of crime Can be used in authenticating an identity Identify offenders Be monitored to identify suspicious activity Professionally monitored video surveillance systems can help students remain safe in student housing. As a property manager, you wear a lot of hats and need the most powerful and useful tools to be successful. Property managers are those hired by a landlord, property investor, or owner, to manage daily operations over one or a number of facilities or sites. Typically, their jobs and exact responsibilities vary according to the need of the party which hires them and the type of facilities that are being managed, and can cover many aspects of the business. Here are just a few of the common responsibilities: Screening tenants Handling evictions Handling complaints or emergencies. Property maintenance Overseeing vacant properties Protecting the property against vandalism Video Surveillance as a Property Management Tool The responsibilities in property management are vast, but even property managers can’t be everywhere at once. They need tools that provide immediate insight into the status of the facilities in order to work effectively and proactively. Video surveillance systems provide that insight. Here are just a few of the ways video surveillance systems can empower property management: Monitor the status of the property remotely View vacant properties regularly to make sure there is no vandalism Monitor “move-outs” Verify tenant complaints Oversee employees Ensure maintenance work is started and completed Monitor for safety hazards, code violations, lease violations, etc. What You Should Know About Video Surveillance Systems Video surveillance systems are powerful tools, and the more you understand the technology the more effectively you can use them. Here are some important considerations. Know the system and its capabilities. Different systems can be composed of any number of components with a wide range of capabilities. Evaluate the system and learn what it can and cannot do. Talk to a professional. Gain insight from a professional about the system and explain what you’d like to accomplish. Most systems are adaptable or expandable. If it does not yet meet your needs, it likely would not take much to add elements to make it most effective. Find the problems. View surveillance footage from every hour of the day to look for problems such as unexpected glare from windows or other issues. Glare can cause your video footage to be ineffective in providing definitive data or proof should you need it. Know the laws. It is legal to use video surveillance in places where people do not reasonably expect privacy, such as hallways, but not where they do, such as restrooms. Consider video monitoring. Today, you can expect that any number of people have an eye on the facility and not all of those people have good intentions. Video monitoring makes sure that the good guys are always watching and ready to respond. Tenants and owners expect property managers to maintain security and 3RD Eye Surveillance is here to help with comprehensive video surveillance systems, professional monitoring, and access control. If you have a business, you need to think about all of your security options. The great news is– there are many options available today to meet every security need. So what’s the bad part? Trying to figure out what technologies can best suit your purposes! Today we will help by providing some great information about the often misunderstood technology, video door control. What Is Video Door Control? Video Door control systems are small audio/visual devices with a keypad that help you control access to any area. This provides a way for you to keep visitors on one side of the door and still see and hear them. Video door control stations provide excellent video and intercom communication and can be used on any door throughout a facility. What are Some of the Advantages of Using Video Door Control? Of course, increasing security is the best advantage these systems provide. A visitor can request entry into a facility without you or your staff actually having to open the door to them, avoiding potentially dangerous confrontations. When used throughout the facility, you can create areas where visitors can access, such as a lobby, and areas they can’t such as workspaces. With incidents of things like theft and workplace violence on the rise, limiting and strictly controlling access to every area is a major advantage. Another advantage is being able to control multiple areas at once, requiring fewer personnel to man doors and providing wider oversight. Video Door Systems Add to Perceived Value In addition to adding to the actual safety of all of the individuals at the facility, video door systems add to the perceived value of the services you provide. An upscale look and feel help elevate every aspect of a business. It may involve exterior changes like new landscaping and painting or complete overhauls requiring things like flooring, plumbing supplies, new appliances, and heating and air conditioning systems. Though every rehab project is unique, there are some important risks each have in common. Rehab projects are complex and expensive. One the biggest challenges is that building owners must store a huge amount of revolving and expensive materials, appliances, and supplies used in the process right on site. Sites are often unattended on nights and weekends which make them subject to vandalism and theft. Every incident of theft or vandalism raises the overall cost of the project. Having effective security coverage throughout the site is critical in ensuring the safety of personnel and the security of materials as well as keeping the cost of the project down. Top Reasons to Consider Video Surveillance and Live Monitoring for Rehab Properties: Having a professionally installed camera system just makes sense. Here are just a few of the many reasons. Theft Prevention— Rehabs sites have a lot of high value and easily sold materials on the premises and often those items are unattended at night and on weekends, making them a prime target for thieves. It is impossible to be everywhere at once and self-monitor those material sites while performing other duties. Vandalism Prevention— Another problem is vandalism. One act of vandalism can stall your project and raise your costs. Video surveillance keeps intruders out and prevents costly damage. Improve Safety—Having security cameras covering your supplies as well as in the project area can help ensure workers maintain safe practices. Reduce Frivolous Lawsuits—Know exactly what happens on your site and have video proof of events. Increase Efficiency— Monitor job site activity to eliminate bottlenecked projects. Ensure Swift Emergency Response—Live monitoring ensures that should any events occur, the right help is on the way as swiftly as possible. Before you start a new rehab project, video surveillance is the first thing Project Managers should consider. Covering the property with the appropriate security camera technology should be the first project on the list so that all of the other tasks run more smoothly. Three years after their first song together, Aube have decided to reappear at the end of 2023 with a new opus. The latest addition to 3rd Lab, the group is made up of French singer Jeanne Barbieri and musician-producer Ena Eno. The two artists each bring their own energy to the project through a folktronic musical field reminiscent of the world of La Chica. The duo are putting the finishing touches to the opus, promising a unique blend of nostalgia and modernity. Like a satellite revolving around a planet, the electronics orbit the voice. With a unity of sound and lyrics that is both bewitching and reflective of the paradoxes of today’s generation, the album promises to be a lunar experience. In one corner, a scientist is slumped over his workstation, his mind racing. Distraught by the lack of recognition for unknown performers, the scientist felt the need to create an elixir to promote them. He immediately set about exploring all the avenues that would enable him to create the perfect preparation. In the course of his research, he discovered musical distillation: extracting evocative tracks from albums to condense the best into compilations. By fusing molecules of French rap with trip hop substances sprinkled with glitch hop, the researcher created the first 3rd Lab compilation. With the secret formula in his possession, he kept repeating the operation. The same year, the scientist created a second compilation of liquid and gaseous compounds. The recipe for the potion never ceased to evolve and to be the subject of new experiments. Artistically varied and mysteriously composed, a series of 8 other 3rd Lab compilations was born. The more the hourglass ticks, the more the compilations become a symbol of the laboratory. Particles of funky hip hop and fragments of electronics are added to the recipe. The scientist’s solution is constantly expanding. He mixes abstract hiphop, footwork and samples in his flask. A pinch of trap here, a pinch of folktronica there, he picks out glitches and incorporates them into the mix, not hesitating to combine them with breakbeat samples. The 3rd Lab compilations have become emblematic and are now part of the label’s DNA. Each one as unique as the next, they perfectly reflect the artistic field of Strasbourg’s music laboratory. Cet article 10 compilations later… est apparu en premier sur 3rd Lab. /actualites/10-compilations-plus-tard/feed/ 0 (Français) Retour sur le workshop XP4L de spatialisation sonore co-organisé par 3rd Lab /actualites/retour-sur-le-workshop-de-spatialisation-sonore-xp4l-par-3rd-lab/ /actualites/retour-sur-le-workshop-de-spatialisation-sonore-xp4l-par-3rd-lab/#respond Wed, 13 Apr 2022 12:53:15 +0000 Sorry, this entry is only available in French. For the sake of viewer convenience, the content is shown below in the alternative language. You may click the link to switch the active language. /actualites/3rd-lab-sassocie-a-pianity-pour-la-creation-de-nft/feed/ 0 “Climax” the new INK’s Ep will be released on the 2nd of November… /actualites/climax-le-nouvel-ep-de-ink-arrive-sur-3rd-lab-le-2-novembre/ /actualites/climax-le-nouvel-ep-de-ink-arrive-sur-3rd-lab-le-2-novembre/#respond Wed, 27 Oct 2021 09:40:52 +0000 INK looks beyond rules and obstacles with its new EP : Climax, out on Tuesday, the 2nd of November 2021. However, as the sector matures, a crucial truth has emerged: reliability often outweighs speed when building sustainable financial solutions. While flashy features can attract initial attention, it is consistent performance, security, and trustworthiness that retain customers and build lasting businesses. In today’s competitive financial technology landscape, the Artem Lyashanov project offers valuable perspectives on balancing innovation with responsibility. Artem Lyashanov emphasizes that true success in fintech comes from creating systems that customers and regulators can genuinely depend on, even during challenging times. The Shifting Priorities in Modern Fintech Development In the early days of fintech, speed to market was often the primary competitive advantage. Startups raced to launch new payment apps, lending platforms, and investment tools. While this approach fueled rapid growth, it also led to high-profile failures, security breaches, and loss of customer trust. Today, stakeholders — from individual users to institutional investors — demand more than cutting-edge features. They expect platforms that work reliably under pressure, protect sensitive data, and maintain service continuity. This shift reflects a broader understanding that financial services carry significant responsibility. Downtime or security incidents can have serious consequences for users’ financial well-being and confidence in digital finance. Why Reliability Has Become a Core Competitive Advantage Reliability in fintech encompasses several critical aspects. First, it means technical stability — systems that handle high transaction volumes without crashing. Second, it involves robust security measures that protect against evolving cyber threats. Third, it requires transparent operations and clear communication during any unexpected issues. Companies that prioritize reliability enjoy several key benefits: Higher customer retention and lifetime value Stronger regulatory relationships and easier compliance Better access to funding and partnerships Enhanced brand reputation in a trust-sensitive industry Artem Lyashanov argues that reliability should be embedded into the core architecture and culture of fintech organizations from day one, rather than treated as an afterthought. Balancing Innovation with Dependable Performance The most successful fintech companies understand that innovation and reliability are not mutually exclusive. They adopt a thoughtful approach that tests new features thoroughly before wide release, implements comprehensive monitoring systems, and maintains redundant infrastructure for critical services. This balanced strategy allows organizations to introduce exciting capabilities — such as AI-powered insights or instant cross-border payments — while ensuring these features enhance rather than compromise the overall user experience. It also helps companies navigate complex regulatory environments more effectively by demonstrating commitment to stability and security. Practical Steps for Building Reliable Fintech Solutions Organizations looking to strengthen reliability should focus on several areas: Implementing rigorous testing and quality assurance processes Investing in scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure Developing strong incident response and business continuity plans Fostering a company culture that values operational excellence Maintaining transparent communication with users about capabilities and limitations Looking Ahead: The Future of Responsible Fintech As we progress through 2026 and beyond, reliability will likely become an even more important differentiator in the fintech space. Customers are becoming more sophisticated and selective, choosing platforms based on proven dependability rather than marketing hype. Conclusion Fintech success in the current market requires looking beyond innovation alone. While groundbreaking technologies capture headlines, it is reliability that builds sustainable businesses and earns long-term customer loyalty. By focusing on dependable performance, security, and responsible growth, fintech companies can create genuine value for users and establish themselves as trusted leaders in the financial ecosystem. Leaders like Artem Lyashanov remind us that the most impactful innovations are those built on solid, reliable foundations. For fintech entrepreneurs and executives, prioritizing reliability is not just good practice — it is becoming essential for long-term success in an increasingly competitive industry. How Precision Engineering Supports Modern Industrial Development? /how-precision-engineering-supports-modern-industrial-development.html Wed, 27 May 2026 10:23:24 +0000 Read the full article Engineering and manufacturing industries continue to evolve as businesses demand higher efficiency, durability, and precision in their operations. From infrastructure projects to industrial machinery and fabrication work, precision engineering plays an important role in supporting modern industrial development. This is why many businesses rely on providers such as New Town Engineering Pte Ltd when looking for engineering and fabrication support for industrial projects. Modern engineering solutions are no longer limited to basic metal fabrication. Industries today require customized designs, accurate manufacturing processes, and reliable structural support systems to maintain operational efficiency and long-term performance. The Growing Importance of Precision Engineering Precision engineering helps industries maintain high standards in manufacturing, construction, and industrial production. Accurate fabrication and machining processes improve product quality while reducing material waste and operational inefficiencies. Industries such as construction, logistics, marine, infrastructure, and heavy manufacturing depend heavily on engineered components that meet strict operational requirements. Proper engineering support ensures that structures, machinery, and fabricated parts function reliably under demanding conditions. As industrial systems become more advanced, precision and consistency have become increasingly important across different sectors. How Fabrication Supports Industrial Operations? Metal fabrication is widely used in industrial projects because it allows customized structures and components to be manufactured according to specific operational requirements. Fabricated metal products are commonly used in platforms, support structures, machinery systems, and heavy equipment applications. Strong fabrication processes help improve durability, workplace safety, and long-term operational stability. Businesses often require custom engineering solutions because different industries operate under different load capacities, environmental conditions, and performance requirements. Reliable fabrication also helps reduce maintenance needs and supports smoother daily operations. The Role of Engineering in Infrastructure Development Engineering services contribute significantly to infrastructure growth and industrial expansion. Structural support systems, fabricated components, and mechanical solutions are essential for construction projects, transportation systems, industrial facilities, and manufacturing plants. Well-designed engineering systems help improve efficiency while supporting safer and more organized project execution. Industrial sectors often prioritize engineering partners capable of delivering consistent quality and reliable technical expertise. As industries continue expanding, demand for dependable engineering and fabrication support continues to grow steadily. Why Quality and Reliability Matter? Engineering projects often involve heavy operational demands where quality and reliability are critical. Poor fabrication or inaccurate engineering work may lead to operational delays, increased maintenance costs, and safety concerns. Businesses therefore prioritize engineering solutions that support durability, precision, and long-term performance. Proper project planning, quality control, and technical expertise all contribute to stronger and more efficient industrial outcomes. Many loans are delayed due to poor preparation or insufficient information. For more information, click on the good at money lender Singapore. This article provides a general overview of certain ways to fasten loan approval by the money lenders. Certain tips to ensure the fast approval of a loan by money lenders There are certain tips that borrowers should follow to ensure a faster loan approval. These tips are: Maintain a strong Credit Score Maintaining a strong credit score is perhaps one of the most important aspects of being approved for a loan. Lenders view borrowers with a track record of consistent payment behavior as a lower credit risk, which allows them to process applications and make decisions more quickly. Prepare and Organise Documents Properly Most loan delays are due to gaps in or inaccuracies in the information supplied by the borrower. Commercial lenders typically want the following for new applicants: verification of identity, proof of income, evidence of residence, and potentially employment details. Having all of the information already organized and available for the lender can facilitate the verification process, reducing the amount of time necessary to clarify each detail. Apply for an amount that matches repayment capacity While seeking an appropriate loan, lenders want to be assured that the applicant’s income can support repayments without financial repercussions. Asking for a more reasonable amount demonstrates to the lender that the applicant understands their financial obligations, acknowledging that this consideration helps facilitate greater decision-making speed. Minimize Existing Debt It is important to note that lenders look at the applicant’s debt-to-income ratio, which indicates how much of the debt the applicant is already paying off from their monthly income. Paying off existing loans or consolidating the loans into a manageable sum would help with approval. The lower debt burden shows the applicant’s financial discipline, which enables the lender to process the application faster. Find a Licensed Money Lender Licensed money lenders, that are regulated by an appropriate authority, conform to strict regulations that protect borrowers, while still completing the paperwork efficiently. Thus, a licensed money lender will handle the applications in a legal way and in a more efficient manner. Conclusion Approval of a loan quickly is a matter of preparation, financial responsibility, and finding the right lender. It is important to consider various tips, such as a strong credit score, reducing outstanding debt, etc., for fast approval of the loan. Methods Used by Wildlife Services to Remove and Deter Nuisance Birds from Properties /methods-used-by-wildlife-services-to-remove-and-deter-nuisance-birds-from-properties.html Tue, 12 Aug 2025 04:41:38 +0000 Read the full article Remove unwanted flocks as early as possible before they adapt to rooftops, ledges, or ventilation systems. The longer they remain, the harder it becomes to move them. In many cases, specialists recommend combining physical deterrents with habitat modification rather than relying on a single tactic. For example, installing stainless steel spikes or tensioned wires on roosting sites works well in commercial districts, while netting protects warehouse openings and agricultural structures. Food sources must be reduced to break the pattern that keeps them returning. This could mean sealing waste containers, adjusting outdoor feeding practices, or modifying landscaping to discourage foraging. Some property owners underestimate how much spilled grain, open dumpsters, or accessible water attract these flocks – I’ve seen cases where a simple lid on a bin solved months of recurring visits. It’s rarely about scaring them once; it’s about changing the environment so staying is no longer appealing. Specialist services in Calgary often integrate discreet deterrents that blend with building design. Low-profile electric track systems, for instance, deliver a harmless pulse that persuades the flock to seek another roost without damaging the structure. In historic or high-visibility areas, this subtle approach preserves architectural appearance while preventing accumulation of droppings and nesting material. For more severe or complex infestations, coordinated measures involving trapping, relocation, and ongoing monitoring may be necessary – and that’s where hiring an experienced local team such as The Pest Control Guy offers lasting value. Can Pest Control Get Rid of Birds Specialized wildlife removal teams can address unwanted flocks by targeting their nesting and feeding areas. This often involves a mix of exclusion barriers, deterrent spikes, tensioned wires, and sound-based repellents. In urban Calgary, technicians may also use netting over rooftops, ledges, and warehouse entry points to prevent re‑entry. Relocation methods are used only when safe and permitted under local wildlife regulations. I’ve seen property owners try homemade tricks–shiny tape, plastic predators, even spraying water–but those rarely last. Professional crews approach it differently. They assess roosting patterns, seasonal migration, and the specific species causing the issue. This way, each treatment plan is tailored rather than one‑size‑fits‑all. In many cases, permanent exclusion is the safest and most humane approach. Working with a licensed Calgary service such as The Pest Control Guy means follow‑up visits and adjustments if activity resumes. It’s not just about pushing the problem away–it’s about closing every gap, removing attractants, and making sure the location stays uninviting for nuisance birds in the long term. Assessment Techniques Used by Professionals to Identify Bird Problems Begin by documenting visible activity. Track the number of individuals seen during different times of day and note where they land, roost, or feed. These patterns help narrow down possible nesting areas and food sources. Without this basic log, any later action may miss the actual hotspots. Next, inspect structures for entry points and sheltered spots. Look for gaps under rooflines, ledges with droppings, clogged gutters, or damaged vents. Pay attention to secondary signs too–loose feathers, nesting debris, and concentrated staining on siding or walkways. Sometimes the most telling evidence is hidden behind fascia boards or inside warehouse rafters. Measuring contamination levels is equally important. Accumulated droppings not only indicate prolonged activity but also help estimate colony size. In some cases, lab testing for pathogens may be recommended before cleanup, especially in commercial or food-handling environments. Specialists often use binoculars or long-lens cameras to observe from a distance, avoiding disturbance that could temporarily change behaviour. Audio recordings can also reveal nocturnal species that might otherwise go unnoticed during the day. TechniquePurposeNotesActivity LogTrack movement patterns and frequencyRecord times, numbers, and locations dailyStructural SurveyLocate nesting sites and access pointsCheck ledges, vents, rooflines, and gapsContamination MappingMeasure droppings accumulationIndicates duration and size of colonyOptical ObservationMonitor without disturbing behaviourUse binoculars or telephoto lensesAudio MonitoringDetect species active at nightIdentify unseen or hidden activity Sometimes the findings are straightforward–like a clear line of droppings along a ledge. Other times, it’s a puzzle with scattered hints. Either way, the depth of assessment directly influences how targeted the solution will be. Guesswork rarely works; thorough observation does. Methods Applied by Specialists to Remove Birds from Properties Begin with physical deterrents where the roosting habit is concentrated. Netting stretched over ledges, canopies, and open beams blocks access entirely. The mesh gauge is chosen to suit the species–too wide and smaller birds squeeze through; too fine and wind load can damage the material. For long-term exclusion, stainless steel spike strips or post-and-wire systems disrupt landing spots without harming the animals. Placement matters more than coverage–target the exact perches used daily rather than every flat surface. Install tensioned wire barriers along roof ridges and parapets. Secure open vents and chimneys with galvanized mesh caps. Fit door curtains on loading docks where flocks slip indoors. Where visual deterrence helps, reflective tape, predator-shaped kites, or even moving decoys break familiar patterns. Still, these lose impact if left static for weeks, so rotate positions and styles regularly. Acoustic devices work in certain settings but often need calibration to avoid disturbing nearby residents or pets. Specialists sometimes combine removal strategies with habitat modification. That might mean trimming back overhanging trees near rooflines or sealing food sources in waste storage areas. This is also where a broader wildlife management plan ties in–knowing how much is pest control for mice helps budget for multi-species prevention rather than dealing with one problem at a time. Trapping is used selectively, usually under permit, and relocation follows strict provincial guidelines. It’s rarely the first approach but may be necessary when nesting is established inside structures. In my experience, the most successful outcomes come from layering several of these tactics, adjusting them over a few weeks, and not relying on a single quick fix. Preventive Measures to Stop Birds from Returning Seal every potential nesting gap along eaves, vents, and ledges with durable mesh or hardware cloth. I’ve seen people skip one small opening, thinking it’s too tight for anything to squeeze through – and then a full nest appears within weeks. Leaving no entry point unguarded is the only way this works long-term. Install physical barriers where landing is possible. Anti-roosting spikes on rooflines, balcony rails, and signage edges can work, though soft deterrents like sloped covers or bird wire are sometimes better where appearance matters. Position them so there’s no alternate perch nearby, otherwise the effort is wasted. Change the environment to make it less attractive. Trim back overhanging branches near roofs and keep outdoor eating areas free of crumbs. Motion-activated sprinklers or sound devices can interrupt habitual visits. These methods, while sometimes inconsistent, create enough disturbance that the flock starts looking elsewhere. Schedule periodic inspections, similar to how you might monitor for other issues like can pest control get rid of bed bugs or can pest control spray for mice. Small signs – a feather pile, droppings in a corner – should trigger immediate checks. A quick fix now prevents a costly cleanup later. Some property owners go further, adding subtle visual deterrents such as reflective strips or predator silhouettes. I’ve had mixed results with these, but combined with structural changes, they help reinforce the message that the space is no longer a safe resting place. Q&A: How do pest control specialists remove birds without harming them? Licensed technicians often use humane deterrents such as netting, spikes, wire systems, or sound devices. These measures prevent birds from roosting or nesting while ensuring they are not injured. In some cases, live traps may be used to relocate the birds to a suitable habitat away from human structures. Can pest control stop birds from nesting in my roof? Yes. Professionals can install physical barriers like bird-proof mesh or seal small entry points where birds typically access roof spaces. This stops nesting activity and protects your insulation, wiring, and structural elements from damage caused by droppings and nesting material. What time of year is best for bird removal? The ideal period is before the breeding season begins, often in late winter or very early spring. Removing or deterring birds during this window helps prevent nests from being built and avoids disturbing eggs or chicks, which may be protected under local wildlife laws. Do bird deterrent measures work permanently? They can work long-term if installed correctly and combined with ongoing property maintenance. Birds are persistent, so any damaged netting, loose spikes, or reopened gaps should be repaired quickly. In high-activity areas, occasional follow-up visits may be needed to maintain results. Are bird control methods different for large commercial buildings? Yes. Large structures often require integrated solutions that cover multiple access points and roosting areas. Pest control teams may use a mix of netting, tensioned wire systems, rooftop deterrents, and building-specific cleaning programs to reduce food sources and nesting opportunities. Is pest control able to remove birds from my property safely and legally? Pest control services can help address bird presence by using specialized techniques designed to discourage birds from nesting or roosting on buildings or other structures. Common approaches include installing physical barriers like netting or spikes, using sound deterrents, and applying bird repellents that are non-toxic to humans and pets. However, the removal methods must comply with local wildlife protection laws, as many bird species are protected and cannot be harmed or relocated without permits. Therefore, before starting any control measures, professionals often conduct an assessment to choose methods that respect both safety and legal requirements. Top Tips to Improve Your Chances of Getting a Personal Loan /top-tips-to-improve-your-chances-of-getting-a-personal-loan.html Sat, 31 May 2025 12:35:00 +0000 Read the full article Introduction Personal loans are a common financial instrument in the modern era to cover the expenses incurred all of a sudden, consolidate debt, or finance one’s personal needs such as education or adventure.
