It unlocks a level of financial freedom that simply wasn’t possible with traditional banking systems. Crypto is borderless, far more secure, allows for self-custody, and fund transfers are affordable and nearly instant. These advantages make cryptocurrencies a good store of value and an even better way to make and accept payments. Across industries, we’re seeing more businesses integrate cryptocurrencies as a payment method for goods and services. El Salvador, for instance, has even declared Bitcoin as a legal tender, while the website CoinGorilla.com claims that the future of the Canadian online gaming industry lies in cryptocurrency. Although it’s increasingly common for casinos, gaming, and other online leisure services to offer the option to “pay with crypto,” the corporate world has been slower to adopt this payment method. Well yeah, crypto is volatile, and companies can’t base their revenue on whatever meme coin is trending this week. Nevertheless, some supporters and adopters swear by it, especially after enjoying the ease of use, privacy features, and maybe even some profit. For anyone who holds some already and isn’t willing to go back to traditional finance—or if you’re just as curious as we were—there are a few stores that allow you to stock up on printers and office supplies should you want to pay using cryptocurrencies. Overstock (Direct Payment) Overstock is one of the most prominent companies paving the way to corporate crypto adoption; they are a Bitcoin veteran in every sense of the word. Overstock was the first major retailer to enable Bitcoin as a payment option as far back as 2014. Also, they own Bitcoin and were even the first company to issue blockchain stock for its funding round. They made the top of our list for being such avid supporters of Bitcoin and the blockchain. In 2017, Overstock partnered with ShapeShift, a digital asset exchange platform, to expand its cryptocurrency payment option for users. ShapeShift makes it easy to convert digital currencies without creating an account or providing personal information, making for seamless transactions. The integration allowed shoppers to purchase items from their entire product range with any of the major cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Monero, and Bitcoin Cash. Buying printing supplies on Overstock is as easy as selecting your preferred cryptocurrency during checkout, and ShapeShift will automatically convert and process your payment, then send it to Overstock as Bitcoin. The salt lake city retailer seems to really love Bitcoin. Office Depot (3rd Party App) Office Depot is a leading provider of office supplies and a well-recognized corporation in its industry. While you can shop their full range of printers, toners, and office supplies with cryptocurrency, Office Depot plays it much safer than Overstock—as they do not hold any crypto on their balance sheets. Also, paying for stuff on Office Depot with crypto is facilitated by a third-party app, Flexa, and not a native checkout integration like Overstock has. Flexa provides a middle ground for companies who may want to integrate crypto payments but aren’t keen on risking the volatility of crypto. Flexa users can preload their preferred cryptocurrency into an app, and at a point of sale, Flexa instantly converts the user’s crypto into USD before settling the retailer—win-win. It’s a bit of a hassle to create and scan codes, and the app only works at POS terminals in physical stores, but it’s a step in the right direction. Flexa’s app, SPEDN, can be downloaded on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Their payment solution supports 99+ cryptocurrencies and over 41,000 merchant store locations in North America. It’s certainly worth checking out. Staples (Gift Card) Staples, similar to Office Depot, does not have a native cryptocurrency payment integration. However, Bitrefill provides a workaround with their Staples gift cards. Essentially, Bitrefill is an exchange platform that allows users to purchase various gift cards with cryptocurrency. They sell redeemable gift cards for leading merchants, including Staples and Office Depot. Thankfully, it’s a much simpler process than the Flexa payment method. To purchase a Staples gift card with cryptocurrency, head over to Bitrefill’s website, and you’ll be able to pay with any of their supported cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum, and Doge. Your gift card is instantly emailed to you and can be redeemed in any Staples retail store within the US or on their website. And in case you’re wondering, there is no downside to using a gift card. You still enjoy all the perks Staples offers, including discounts and promotions when you pay with a gift card. NewEgg (Direct Payment) An online retailer founded in 2001, NewEgg is one of the go-to locations for office supplies and computer peripherals. The electronics giant is bullish on Bitcoin and has put their money where their mouth is. Unlike Staples and Office Depot, which require 3rd party workarounds, NewEgg lets you pay directly on their site, and users can conveniently choose to pay with their card or cryptocurrency. Like many other companies that accept crypto, NewEgg has partnered with BitPay to allow users to checkout with Bitcoin, Doge, Litecoin, Ethereum, and any other one of their supported cryptocurrencies. BitPay also allows users to integrate directly with wallets like MetaMask, Exodus, and Coinbase. Keep in mind, though, orders placed with cryptocurrencies cannot be refunded in crypto or USD. According to a disclaimer on their site, NewEgg would only return cryptocurrency-initiated orders as a store gift card. Furthermore, you must use the NewEgg website to pay with cryptocurrency since their mobile app does not currently support BitPay. Crypto Payments Will Soon Become Commonplace Given the uncertainty surrounding cryptocurrencies, it would seem as though large corporations are reluctant to dip their foot in the pool. In a market as competitive as this, it’s no surprise the big players want to play it safe and stick to traditional, more predictable means of collecting and storing income. That said, cryptocurrencies are here to stay. According to recent statistics, the number of cryptocurrency users is increasing by 80% yearly, making it the fastest-growing technological adoption in human history—surpassing the internet’s inception. Akin to the arrival of the internet, it may only be a matter of time before native cryptocurrency payment integration is no longer a mere consideration but a necessity for every business, from small enterprises to multinational chains. OSHA recommends office temperature to be between 68 to 76 ℉. But what should you do if it’s not the right temperature for you? Getting toasty and comfortable in your office will boost your productivity. To combat the Arctic winds in your office, we listed ways on how you can keep yourself warm throughout your day. Sometimes, the office is just freezing cold. Sometimes, it can be underlying health conditions or physiology. It’s Not You; It’s the Office If everybody in the office experiences the same chilliness, the most likely explanation is the office itself. Building Materials. If bricks, concrete, or stone make up your building, the office will feel colder as these materials absorb and gradually releases heat over time. Your office will be cool during the day and warm at night. Low AC Setting. Another simple explanation is your desk is situated right in front of the AC (or close to it.) Old offices also use a temperature standard for men’s body heat, causing female office workers to feel colder. Insufficient Insulation. The office may be in an area with a frigid climate, and the building doesn’t have enough insulation to keep heat in. For example, your office building is on in a snowy location. You might not see snow at your elevation, but it doesn’t mean you won’t feel the cold. Poor Blood Circulation If you’re the only one feeling cold, you could have low blood flow. A cause of poor blood circulation could be a blockage, like a blood clot. You’ll know this is the case if you feel cold in just one area of the body. For instance, your legs get cold quickly, indicating an acute blockage in your leg arteries. Low BMI or Low Body Fat Walruses, whales, and polar bears use blubber fat to stay warm. Human fat cells do the same and keep heat. You can feel cold more easily when you have body issues that cause you to lose fat. Below are several reasons that cause the loss of body fat: Your body will burn fat more as fuel for energy if you don’t have a proper and healthy diet, resulting in boniness or gauntness. Weight loss exercise programs and diets. Intentionally changing your physique with exercise and diet can increase your body’s fat consumption. Notice that most people lose fats when they age. Aging also causes a loss of appetite, so the body burns more fat. Anorexia nervosa. This eating disorder often found in women causes an intense fear of weight gain and a distorted perception of weight, leading to emaciation and other health issues. Lack of Sleep Did you know your body temperature goes to its lowest point in the middle of the night while you’re in dreamland? Sleep is critical to regulating your body’s temperature and fighting injuries and diseases. When you fail to get enough zzzs, you’ll feel cold while awake – a sign that your body needs more rest. Medication Side Effects Particular medication can make you feel cold as a side effect. A great example are beta-blockers. They relax the heart to keep your body from making harmful chemicals in response to an illness. Their side effects include feeling nauseous, dizzy, tired, and cold in the hands and feet. You might need to see your doctor and ask for a lower dosage depending on your health and symptoms. Health Issues Specific health issues can make you feel unnaturally cold, even in an office with moderate temperatures. These issues include hypothyroidism, anemia, kidney disease, and iron deficiency. Simple Ways to Keep Warm After figuring out what makes you cold at the office, how should you deal with it? Wear a Jacket, Sweater, or Hoodie The most straightforward answer to a cold workspace is to wear more layers. Invest in office-friendly jackets and sweaters that you could rock indoors. You could wear a hoodie if your workplace has a lax dress code. Keep a Blanket at Work Pick a warm and cozy blanket designated for office use. You could put it on your lap to keep your legs warm. If you’re at a desk and aren’t facing customers, you may wear a blanket around your shoulders to stay cozy. Bring Fingerless Gloves and Scarves Do your exposed body parts, like your hands, neck, and face, feel cold the most? Invest in quality fingerless gloves and scarves that match your office uniform. If you don’t need to work at a keyboard or handle delicate tasks, consider buying gloves that cover your whole hands. Stay Warm with Heated Insoles Keep your toes and feet warm without breaking the dress code by shopping for fleece, wool, or thermal insoles that warm up when used. Drink Hot Beverages Drinking a cup of hot coffee or tea is another straightforward answer to the problem of feeling cold at the office. You could even bring back a dose of your childhood and make yourself hot cocoa to drink. Using Technology to Stay Warm Improve your workspace situation through heating technology with various functions. These gadgets and electronic options are great for those who stay at their desk most of the day, even gamers who get cold hands easily. Use USB Heaters Picking USB Heaters is a smart option, especially if your computer has a lot of free USB terminals. They also work well with most phone chargers since they use a USB cable. Another significant benefit of USB heaters is they come in all shapes and functions, including: Cup heaters Hand warmers Foot heaters Mini desk heater Get a Space Heater Space heaters are the solution if you’re not a fan of wearing layers of clothing and heating accessories. These warm up a room for a couple of hours and directly heat anyone and anything nearby. It’s an excellent supplemental heat source but can be pretty pricey regarding electricity cost. Buy an Electric Blanket Finally, consider adding an electric heating blanket to your anti-freeze protection collection. Most electric blankets are energy efficient. On top of that, they can relieve aches and pains like arthritis and sciatica more efficiently than a regular wooly blanket. Z Corp, of course, currently controls the lion share of the market. We're still in the infancy of the industry. (Nasdaq:SSYS) today announced record first quarter financial results. The results and financial guidance have been adjusted to reflect the two-for-one stock split completed in August, 2007.

Revenues rose to $30.7 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2008 over the $27.3 million reported for the same period in 2007. Revenue from proprietary products and services increased by 16% over the same period last year. System shipments totaled a record 577 units for the first quarter of 2008, the highest quarterly unit shipments in the company's history.

GAAP net income increased 20% to $3.8 million for the first quarter, or $0.18 per share, compared to GAAP net income of $3.2 million, or $0.15 per share, for the same period in 2007.

Stock-based compensation expense required under Financial Accounting Standard (SFAS) 123R was approximately $261,000 net of tax, or $0.01 per share for the first quarter of 2008, and approximately $212,000 net of tax, or $0.01 per share, for the same period in 2007. The reconciliation between this non-GAAP adjustment and our GAAP financial measures is provided in a table at the end of this press release.

The first quarter of 2008 also included an impairment charge of approximately $257,000 net of tax, or $0.01 per share. This non-operating charge is an adjustment to the fair value of an auction rate security investment that became illiquid as a result of a failed auction.

"We are very pleased with our strong first quarter financial performance, especially in light of the prevailing concerns over a weakening global economy," said Scott Crump, chairman and chief executive officer of Stratasys. "Our margins improved significantly over last year, a result of strong sales of new products. Approximately 80% of our total system revenue was generated from products introduced since the start of 2007.

"Our first quarter system sales represented the highest level, in terms of units and revenue, for any quarter in our company's history. In addition, growth in operating profit of 24% was our fastest growth in operating profit within the past year. The first quarter results were led by the standout performance of our proprietary high-end system business, which grew by 29% over last year, our fastest growing business during the quarter.

"The high-end system business benefited from strong demand for our new products, driven in part by new opportunities from customers using our systems for direct digital manufacturing (DDM) applications, or the manufacture of end-use parts. DDM applications represent incremental growth to our traditional design applications. Our introduction of the FDM 900mc in December of 2007 directly targets this sizable new market opportunity, and we are increasingly excited about this emerging market.

"3D printer revenue increased by 19% during the first quarter, driven by the successful introduction of our premium-priced Dimension 1200es line in February, as well as the relatively strong demand for our higher-priced Dimension Elite. We were pleasantly surprised that our premium 3D printers represented approximately 89% of 3D printer units sold during the first quarter, a more favorable product mix than we had anticipated.

"Favorable product mix was a major factor in our margin expansion during the quarter, as higher average printer prices combined with relatively stable printer manufacturing costs. The success of the new 1200es and resulting product mix trends demonstrate an opportunity to expand the 3D printer market by improving system functionality and performance. These growth opportunities supplement our longer-term strategy of growing the market by making the systems more affordable.

"Although total order volume in our paid parts business increased by 26% in the first quarter, total revenue declined by 12% versus last year. The comparison to the first quarter of 2007 was exceptionally difficult for our paid parts business, as we generated several large orders, which enhanced revenue during the 2007 period. We continue to evaluate and improve upon our sales and marketing efforts for our paid parts service, and have seen a recent increase in first-time orders.

"Our proprietary consumables business grew by 14% during the first quarter. The new ABSplus material offered on the Dimension Elite and 1200es lines has improved the functionality of our 3D printers, and has been well received by our customers. Although quarter-over-quarter consumable growth can be impacted by the timing and shipment of distributor purchases, the growth trend remains the same. We expect the growth in consumable revenue will accelerate from first quarter levels as we move through the balance of 2008.

"Although we have observed some small signs of weakness in our domestic markets, overall we continue to experience strong global demand for our products. The trends are similar to the conditions that leading companies within the CAD software space have reported, suggesting the market for 3D products remains under penetrated and ripe for growth. It's worth noting that international sales of proprietary products and services increased 23% during the first quarter, versus a 10% increase in domestic sales.

"Following our first quarter performance, we remain confident in our ability to achieve our goals for 2008, as excitement surrounding our new products remains high. We look forward to a very successful year," Crump concluded.2008/05/stratasys-reports-record-first-quarter.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Unknown)1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6747685398105097527.post-1966349145666554068Wed, 06 Feb 2008 21:56:00 +00002008-02-06T12:09:06.153-08:00Fab@HomeYou don't have the money to buy a 3D printer? They say time flies when you’re having fun… these 15 years sure have flown and 3DPT has come a long way! In August 2011, 3DPT’s first patient was treated in a living room, not a clinic. There was no logo on the wall, no waiting room, no front desk, just two physical therapists and a belief that patients deserved more individualized care than a typical... Adding an additional pre-run warm-up routine can seem like overkill! As much as we don’t want to spend any extra time prepping for a run, a quick warm-up routine provides numerous benefits that are too good to skip out on. Research has shown that a targeted 5-minute warm... Over the years the Haddon Township clinic has grown right alongside its patients with new equipment, an expanded space, and a growing team of amazing physical therapists, aides and front desk! It is rewarding to be able to act as a stepping stone for all of these employees as they work their way towards their end goal of becoming healthcare providers. Watching service members dedicate themselves to a profession rooted in sacrifice, readiness, and resilience shaped my perspective on performance, health, and leadership from a young age. That foundation ultimately led me to commission into the United States Army Reserve... Whether it comes and goes or feels constant, these sensations are often your body’s way of signaling that something isn’t functioning properly. The good news? That passion naturally led me to sports and athletics at a young age. It occurs when the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot, becomes irritated or inflamed. Most people describe it as a sharp, stabbing pain in the heel, especially with the first steps in the morning or after long periods of sitting. It may improve as you move around, but can return after...
