Most of them have the last name of a famous athlete scrawled across the back. If you aren’t a sports fan, I know you’ve seen these wearable shrines. I’ll admit, I have a few of these jerseys among my wardrobe. Wearing them makes you feel one with the player and the team. You’re showing your support by dressing as your sporting heroes. You’re displaying your respect and admiration for all they have accomplished. At times your allegiance may even transcend the sport. Maybe you are a fan of an athlete because of what they stand for off of the field as much as their play on the field. What’s troubling is, I’m paying to wear the name of a person that I will never meet. They will never know me or even care that I admire them. In fact, if I met them in person and got to know them, I probably wouldn’t like them. That seems to go with celebrity, they are often unpleasant people. This is equaled by any famous person not just athletes. Actors, politicians, and performers may have talents we admire. We wear their name and image and support their cause, but we have no relationship with them. What if we approached fandom from a different perspective? What if you went down to your local t-shirt store (do they exist?? lets pretend they do) and ordered a slew of shirts with the last name of a person you know who is facing turmoil in their lives? Imagine visiting the bedside of a friend waging war against cancer wearing a shirt emblazoned with their name on the back. You admire and respect an elder in your congregation for the advice and guidance he has given you over the years, so you splay his name across your back. Real people you know and have a relationship with that deserve your respect and admiration. To carry it further, what if you plastered the name of your Savior across everything you wore? We are often proud to wear the colors of our favorite teams, but less comfortable wearing our faith on our back. We don’t backdown when proudly sporting our team’s jersey at an unfriendly away game, but do we do the same in a world which is unfriendly turf to all who love God? Are we afraid to proudly show our true colors, who we are deep down, far beyond a sports fan… a Jesus fan? I have no dispute with sports fans, I’m one myself. When I spend $75 to show my love for an athletic club I’m telling the world that my team is important to me. Isn’t it more important that I tell the world that Jesus is the most important thing to me? After all, He is someone I will meet one day and He knows the number of hairs on my head. This is bigger that what I choose to wear. This is about who I am, what I talk about, and how I support those in need. When I live for Jesus, not sports, the world we see my true colors and I might just have a chance of recruiting some more players to His team. How do you show your support for His team? ]]> /jersey.html/feed 2 Losing Your Grip on Life? Do you ever want to throw your hands in the air and give up… just walk away and find a dark corner to hide in? You’re not alone. We all face periods of discouragement. Spans of time when things just aren’t going right. Days when we wish we could go back to bed. Strife and turmoil ridden weeks when success seems desperately out of reach. Navigating these turbulent waves appears impossible. Our boat is taking on water and there is no land in sight. The seas get rougher by the minute and the anxiety is crippling. A desperate scan of the horizon reveals no hope. Seemingly, it’s inevitable that we will go down with the ship and be left to drown at the bottom of the sea of life. Life’s storms are turning points. The decisions we make when facing adversity will alter the course of our lives and the lives of those we love. These times that try our souls make or break us. But, real strength is only gained when muscles are pushed to their breaking point. Iron is sharpened not by a soft bed of moss, but by iron. Perseverance must be our watchword. We must maintain emotional acuity if we hope to ever emerge victorious. In his masterpiece, “If” Rudyard Kipling wrote, If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ Life’s curve balls prove we can’t emerge victorious without help. Our will to “Hold on!” is provided from on high. Though we often try, we don’t have the strength to go it alone. If our life is centered on serving God in all that we do, then we have help. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Does this mean we will never fail? No. It means we can find the strength to face anything. When you’re losing your grip on life, “Hold On” and gain strength with these four techniques. Pray. Strengthen your relationship with God. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. No matter what you are failing in, if it’s purpose is for God’s glory, He will strengthen you. Study. Strengthen your faith. Read of the battles the brave men and women of the Bible endured for God. Wonder at the perfect life of our Savior and all He bore for you. Encourage. Strengthen your relationships with others. Share what you are going through with someone. Listen to their struggles. Pray with them and gain new courage realizing others are standing with you on the front lines of life. Exercise. Strengthen your physical body. Taking care of yourself gives you the stamina physically and emotionally to soldier on for Christ. You will be healthier and better prepared for a long life in His service. If you follow this simple workout plan, you will strengthen your grip and be able to hold on to God and His plan for your life no matter what you face. How do you find the strength to hold on? ]]> /losing-grip-life-hold-on.html/feed 1 Your Money or Your Life /money-life.html /money-life.html#comments Wed, 03 Oct 2012 10:00:21 +0000 /?p=5522 Jack Benny was one of the country’s top comedians in the Golden Age of Radio. His character was a penny-pincher that rarely parted with his precious money. A routine often revisited on the show is Jack being held up by a robber. The thief demands, “Your money or your life!” Jack responds with silence. Upon the criminal repeating his command Jack cries, “I’m thinking it over!” How would you respond in a similar situation? We would all quickly give all the money we have to save our lives. But, how do you respond to this demand in your daily life. When you are called upon to serve, do you respond with your money or your life? The accounts of many charities and churches are overflowing. They have money to do great things. What they lack are enough people who are willing to devote their life in service. Throwing money at a problem is the easy solution. We leave the answers to someone else. Money can be the salve to sooth our guilty souls. We rationalize that we have made a sacrifice by giving financially not realizing that cash is often secondary to the cause. When asked the greatest commandment, Jesus replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” All of the Law hangs on one word… LOVE. Not money! What does this love for God demand? Is it filling the church treasury? While financial support for the church may be part of it, what God wants is for us to be about His work, which demands our LIFE… our TIME. Is that putting money in the collection each week and then leaving the heavy lifting to someone else? That doesn’t sound like loving with all of your heart, soul, and mind. That’s avoiding responsibility with money. The same way a father may spoil his children to allay his guilty conscience for not giving them the time they need. The second command is to love our neighbor… in the same way we love ourselves. How do we show love for ourselves? Buy spending time doing the things we enjoy. That’s what we are to give our neighbor… our time. It’s not just donating money when a member of our church is in need, but preparing a meal and going to their home and visiting with them. It’s not handing a struggling family $20 and quickly rushing by, but being a friend… talking and praying with them and helping them overcome the obstacles in their lives. Money will always be a necessity, but when we value it more than relationships our perspective is skewed. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” Giving up your life has nothing to do with money and everything to do with what you value most… your time. Share this time by showing love, friendship, and support and you will accomplish far more than a fortune ever could. ]]> /money-life.html/feed 2 Perspective vs. Reality – Who Wins? /perspective-vs-reality-wins.html /perspective-vs-reality-wins.html#respond Mon, 30 Jul 2012 10:00:37 +0000 /?p=3889 A cursory evaluation of the world we live in is terrifying. Everywhere we look, it seems, we see man and nature racing against one other for one purpose… to kill us. Death is ushered into life through sociopaths, terrorists, and natural disasters. It makes some of us want to hole-up in the safety of our homes, until we hear of the latest home invasion. Our perspective becomes skewed. There is no safe room. Every place and every person are a threat to our lives. We become consumed with “what if” and reject “what is.” If we allow our perspective and reality to battle “Mano-a-Mano”, who emerges the victor? Who lasts the 10 rounds and comes out on top? Usually… perspective. Our inaccurate perspective becomes reality in our eyes. Every stranger is a killer, every foreigner a terrorist, and every storm cloud a tornado. We shatter our rose-colored glasses and examine the world through a magnifying glass. We enlarge the bad and myopically overlook the good in people and nature, both blessings from God. Think about it, why are mass-murders, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters so mind-numbing to us? Because they are rare. They don’t happen every day, but when they do, they are major news items. We become transfixed and must read and watch, in horror, every detail. In turn, we begin to believe that these tragedies await us around every corner. We ignore reality. The innumerable days that have passed without incident. The kindness we have received from complete strangers, the lessons we have learned from people from far off lands, and the breathtaking handiwork that God has surrounded us with. God be praised, most of us will never be the victim of a violent crime or natural disaster. Many of us, however, fear we will. 20% of Americans worry about being murdered. From their perspective, the chances of it happening are high, but reality is only 1 in 18,690 people will become victims. The odds of becoming a terrorist victim on an airline flight are 1 in 10,408,947 yet 36% of Americans fear themselves or a family member becoming a victim of terrorism. Like an artist who is too close to his canvas and steps away to view the entire painting, aligning his perspective with reality, we need to take a step back and view life accurately. Do bad things happen every day? Yes! Does that mean they will happen to you? Absolutely not! Does that mean we throw caution to the wind? No, but irrational fear, stress, and worry lead to high blood pressure and heart disease, and possibly early death. When our perspective alters reality, we live irrational, unproductive lives. We fail to act even in the smallest ways. Our perspective is that we are just one person and there is very little we can do in our small corner of the world. We lose sight of the fact that it takes just one person to change the world, for good. If we aren’t careful, our perspective of God can be skewed in the process. We see all of the bad in the world and begin to question Him and His creation. We must never do this, because there is nothing more real than God’s Love. This indisputable fact should align your perspective with reality. Despite the problems we face every day, God loves each and every one of us and will never stop. So, when you begin to lose touch with reality through a skewed perspective, race back to the arms of God and the reality of His everlasting love. How do you keep your perspective from altering your view of reality? ]]> /perspective-vs-reality-wins.html/feed 0 3 Remedies For A Leaky Heart Valve /3-remedies-leaky-heart-valve.html /3-remedies-leaky-heart-valve.html#respond Mon, 16 Jul 2012 10:00:20 +0000 /?p=3868 A leaky heart valve can be a serious medical condition. However, if the leaky valve interferes too much with normal blood flow, congestive heart failure can occur. The 4 valves of the heart control the flow of blood as it moves through the chambers of the heart. Since the heart is the distribution system of this vital substance to all parts of the body, it is essential that it is kept operating properly. Like our physical heart valves, our emotional “heart valves” regulate the flow of our affections. If these valves begin to leak, the vital flow of compassion, service, patience, and joy are interrupted. Not only is our emotional heart damaged, those that are fed by this fundamental flow suffer as well. Our heart valve leaks when we fail to channel our time, talent, and resources to where they are needed most, others. We may “leak” a dribble of ourselves to those that need us, but it isn’t enough to do them any good. While this is occurring the health of our emotional heart suffers. It’s working overtime to serve one purpose, gratifying ourselves. This may seem rewarding, but this neglect actually engorges the heart so that it demands more and more. We end up completely unhealthy. Our heart is swollen with our excesses while our other vital organs, humanity, suffer from the anemic concern they are given. This condition demands immediate treatment. Similar to the way the medical condition is approached, the leak needs to be plugged and the flow of blood needs to be channeled in the right direction. We can easily diagnose a leaky valve by simply listening to the sounds of our hearts. Place a stethoscope to your heart and listen carefully. If your conversation and time is dominated by your wants and desires, you’ve got a leaky valve. The repair of the physical aortic regurgitation will result in improved physical health. Similarly, restoring our emotional hearts will advance our spiritual health. Here are 3 Remedies for A Leaky Heart Valve: Medicine. The heart can be renewed by filling it with the restorative power of God’s word. When we meditate on the selfless love of our Lord and Savior our hearts can be healed. Open your heart and allow the restorative power of this drug to flow through it. Repair. Through diligent prayer and constant effort we can repair the leak in our heart. This is an invasive procedure which demands deep soul searching. For this remedy to be effective, you must be willing to alter your behavior and be prepared to reexamine its health daily. Replacement. This is the most extreme treatment, but may be necessary. Your heart valve may have become so unhealthy that it needs replacement. You just might need to tear yourself down so you can be built up again. Similar to the life of Jesus, his journey wasn’t completed until his physical life was destroyed and then begun anew. When your heart is functioning properly it can effectively serve others far better than yourself. Monitor it daily to make sure there are no leaky valves. I would guess, depending on where you live, this has never happened to you. You’ve not had to choose between helping the victim of a violent crime and passing on the other side of the street. Aiding a person in this situation is the perfect example of showing love to your neighbor. Taking the time and risk to help is true sacrifice and the ultimate fulfillment of Jesus’ admonition. It is love in action. Society has evolved dramatically since Jesus first shared the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Most of us don’t journey on foot through wilderness and expose ourselves to bands of robbers. We travel in the safety of our locked cars, or in the company of hundreds of commuters on public transportation. Even if there is a problem, help is usually nearby and we can leave the helpless in the hands of the police or some other form of public assistance. It seems, opportunities to love our neighbor are dwindling. Our Great Society has taken care of our problems. Is there anything an individual can do to aide his neighbor anymore? Of course there is! In fact, it has never been easier. Even as relationships continue to fragment as we isolate ourselves from one another in the comfort of our homes, there are more opportunities for us to use modern technology to love our neighbors. Here are 3 ways to use technology to expand your neighborhood and serve more. 1. Financial support – Fundraising websites have made it convenient and secure to help people financially across the world. The days of extended correspondence and writing checks and waiting for them to clear are fading in the rear view mirror. Almost instantaneously, a need can be shared and money can be raised. It may not even be someone we know directly, but we can become a member of their tribe through a common connection. We can help a neighbor we have never met and may never know. 2. Awareness – Social tools like email, Facebook, and Twitter have simplified communicating needs to multiple people at one time. Depending on the number of contacts or “friends” you have, you can share a need with hundreds of people with one click. This opens the door for others to serve in areas they would never know of otherwise. You can love your neighbor simply by informing people about a need. 3. Adoption – There have always been an abundance of orphans needing loving homes. In the United States, we are blessed with a system that ensures these children have a safe place to stay and plenty to eat. Although less than ideal, they are at least protected and off the streets. Most children across the world don’t enjoy this luxury. Many live in filthy conditions with little food and even less love. It has never been easier to reach an orphan in a third world country and make them a part of your home. Travel is now relatively easy to destinations that were once near impossible to reach. We can work through the safety of adoption service websites and view pictures of the children in need. As Jesus concluded the parable of the Good Samaritan he asked the lawyer, “So which of these do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” He answered, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” Today, there are so many ways to show mercy… so many ways to use technology to love our neighbors. Find one that fits you and get to work. Your community will grow and you will have neighbors all over the world. What other ways can you use technology to show mercy on your neighbor? ]]> /3-ways-love-neighbor-technology.html/feed 0 There is No Freedom, We are All Slaves /freedom-slaves.html /freedom-slaves.html#comments Mon, 02 Jul 2012 10:00:17 +0000 /?p=3847 There is no freedom in life. As much as the patriots of our great land may deny it, life is about servitude. We are bound as slaves in our mortal coils. We have no choice. Man’s inclination is certainly not to be anyone’s servant. Much blood has been shed for independence and liberty. Brother has killed brother over the very concept of slavery and its consequences. But God makes it clear that our time on His great blue marble is captivity. We are each obligated to bondage, but the good news is, we can choose our master. We can select who we are bound to and who we serve. We are not forced into the relationship. In fact we have been purchased by our true Master. A great price has been paid, but many run away from Him to serve another that makes empty promises of freedom, rights, and tolerance. Our true Master has one simple promise, life everlasting. The other, a great liar, promises a temporary life of fulfillment, pleasure, and satisfaction, but his reward for your service is eternal death: permanent separation from your true Master and from His promises of eternity with Him. Our true Master expects hard work, dedication, and our undying commitment. He is honest and tells us how difficult the work will be. The other promises a life of ease and riches. Not only can he not deliver what he promises, his service results in great dissatisfaction, depression, and misery. Everyday we have the choice of who we will serve. No one binds us in chains and forces us to bow the knee in front of them, but our decision can bind us. It is our choice who we kneel before, but you better believe we submit to one or the other. We either yield to the will of our true Master or abandon Him and run to the other. We bow before him as he promises all our heart desires. The wiles in his armory can even trick us into thinking we are serving the true Master by corrupting His message. Like an evil advisor we listen to him telling us what God expects, wants, or offers, rather than going to the Source and finding out what He desires, deserves, and promises… all clever manipulation. Our loyalty will be seen in our actions. Or service to our true Master will result in serving others. We will live to serve. Ministry to the other will result in living only to ourselves. Jesus makes it clear there is no middle ground. “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” You must choose this day whom you will serve. Who will it be? I hear them most often when I’m doing what I call singing, and usually utter them when my boys are tearing the house apart. It certainly has a negative connotation. Something is annoying us and we want it to cease and desist, immediately, so we share our opinion, often accompanied with yelling. The please portion is not a requirement. In fact, it’s probably rarely used. It’s an additional word that prolongs the suffering, so we shorten it to just “STOP!” It may be impolite, but we get our point across in one simple word. This curt phrase has positive applications as well. There’s tremendous suffering in our communities that we have within our power to quell. All it takes is for us to act. Here’s a list of 7 kinds of suffering people you know are dealing with, along with an extra bonus of solutions to the problems. Please, stop… 1. Hunger – In your community, there are thousands of people without the basic needs of life. You can fill several empty stomachs with a small donation. Better yet, you can fill those same hearts with the food that will never leave them hungry. Share the Good News of Jesus with those with famished souls. 2. Loneliness – Be a friend to the friendless. We all know people who have no one to talk with. Take time and show them you care. While you’re at it, introduce them to a friend who will never leave their side, Jesus. 3. Homelessness – Homelessness is not just for the outcasts of society any more. People in your neighborhood and those you sit next to at work are facing foreclosure. Open you home to them, provide them with a place to stay while they get back on their feet. Bring them into your church family. Give them a refuge from the perils of life. 4. Fear – Uncertainty in life can be paralyzing. When we know there’s hope for the future we sleep better at night. Give someone promise for tomorrow. Share your blessings. Relieve their fear by sharing the joy that comes from knowing the Lord. 5. Depression – One of the the great pandemics of society today is depression. The stress of life becomes overwhelming and many see no hope for the future. Help people navigate this storm by giving them perspective. Although they may be in the midst of a downpour, help them see the silver lining in the clouds. Give them hope for tomorrow in the promise of a glorious eternity with Jesus Christ. 6. Strife – We all have the friend to whom bad things always happen. It seems if something can go wrong it always happens to them. Their life is filled with turmoil and trouble. Provide a place of stability for them. Be a rock they can lean on and help them to stand by providing a firm foundation of friendship. Show them the peace that comes from the hand of Almighty God. 7. Doubt – Like fear, doubt, leaves people dreading tomorrow. They begin to ponder the meaning of life and if they serve any purpose. Suicide may even creep into their thoughts as they see no reason in living another day. Show them their value in your life and the lives of those around them. Help them understand life is most gratifying when we are serving others. Teach them that God knows them personally and how in Him each day has new meaning. Look at the suffering around you and shout, “Please, Stop!” It’s within your power to change lives and change the world. What else can you do to stop the pain in peoples’ lives? ]]> /suffering-you-can-stop.html/feed 0 Are Your Relationships Focused on the “Big Fish”? /big-one.html /big-one.html#respond Mon, 18 Jun 2012 10:00:25 +0000 /?p=3779 Our desire is usually for the biggest and the best. We have been convinced by advertising and the world around us to never settle, always look for something bigger and better. This is how my boys and I approach fishing. Every time we hit the pond we hope to reel in a really big fish. Unfortunately, we haven’t hooked that trophy bass yet, so we are always looking for new techniques, baits, and locations to help us reel in larger fish. Still, most of our catches are pretty small. Life is a lot like fishing. Whether we recognize it or not, we are always casting our line of relationship. Each person we encounter decides whether to take our bait or move on to something more tempting. We are always hoping to reel in a “big fish”, but they are few and far between. These “big fish” are the friendships that we deem rewarding because of what they provide to us. They usually involve little work and lots of fun. We like our bonds to be pleasant, free of turmoil and trauma. Often, unintentionally, we hook people we measure as “small fish.” A relationship begins to develop that we weren’t looking for. It’s takes up a lot of our time and is unpleasant. Maybe the person is too needy and we don’t want to take time to help with their problems. We relate briefly, but then seek to throw them back in the pond as quickly as we can. We determine our time is better spent somewhere else: with the “big fish” we have already caught, or out seeking a better catch. We seek relationships where we can receive rather than give. However, those “small fish” that grab hold of our lines have an acute need for strong, giving relationships. They have troubles in their lives they don’t know how to deal with. They are hoping desperately that we will help. Your bait was appealing and they have grabbed on and won’t let go. Are you avoiding these “small fish” so you can focus on the “trophies” you already have on your wall? Are you releasing despondent people that need your companionship because the affiliation lacks a pleasant fragrance? Are you focusing on relationships that give rather than take? Life’s not about what we need, it’s about who needs us… a life we can touch by casting in their direction. We need to reel in those fish that need us and grow the relationship into one we can proudly display. When we focus on our needs, the needs of others go unmet. We can miss opportunities to change peoples lives and help them grow. Keep the fish you catch, despite their size. Feed them. Nurture them. Help them grow into trophies. Then, teach them to fish. Show them mercy, so they can go out and do likewise. How do you nurture the “small fish” you reel in? ]]> /big-one.html/feed 0 Is God Your Backup Plan? /god-backup-plan.html /god-backup-plan.html#respond Mon, 11 Jun 2012 10:00:11 +0000 /?p=3740 I’m very cautious when it comes to my electronic files. Having a hard drive crash will make you that way. I meticulously backup my files to ensure I am protected in case of a computer nightmare. I rely on my primary hard drive for accessing and saving my daily work. I trust that it will operate properly, but not completely, that’s why I have a backup. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had a failure, but those were catastrophic times. I didn’t always have backups to save the day. My backup is just that, a place to go in case of emergency. My first resort is my primary drive, if that fails, I access my back-up and life is rosy again. I’ve got a backup plan in place. Is God your backup plan? Do you turn to Him only in case of emergency? Too many of us rely on ourselves or other people rather than on God as a first line of defense in this world. We may not even consider God until things become dire and we need a backup to restore order to the lives we have crashed. We turn to doctors to repair our broken bodies, counselors to mend our battered marriages, and self-help books to save our bankrupt spirits. Then, if these things don’t work, we turn to God. That, my friends, makes God our back-up. If we can’t fix our problem or if we can’t find someone else who can, then we turn to God. We make Him the “In Case of Emergency” alarm on the wall. When our problems become too big, we pull the alarm hoping to have Him rush in to our rescue. Don’t get me wrong, medical science can do wondrous things, counselors can provide great advice, and the experience of man is a great resource, but none of them trump God. God should be our primary source for restoration, repair, and salvation. Long before and long after man and his solutions is God. As Genesis 1:1 tells us, “In the beginning, God…” Bring this powerful statement into your life each day and gain reassurance in the existence and power of God as your first option. Dwell on these things: 1. In the Past, God… Meditate on what God has done. Look at how He has gotten you through the times your life has crashed. 2. In the Present, God… Consider what God is actively doing in your life now. The new day He has granted and the air with which your lungs continually swell. 3. In the future, God… Put tomorrow in God’s hands. Worry only begats more worry. The sooner we learn to trust God and His plan for our lives, our primary hard drive, the better off we will be. Never relegate God to the roll of back-up in your life. Keep Him in the foreground and the troubles of life will fade into the background. They will become unimportant when compared to His power and love. Let go and let God. My brother decided, after years of sharing a room with me, he wanted his own place. Now, that place was just across the hall, but it was a million miles away to me. I was heartbroken. What had I done? Why wouldn’t he want to go on living with me forever? The delusions of a younger brother, I know, but it was agonizing. Now, I hadn’t done anything. My brother still loved me, as much as a pre-teen boy can love his adoring younger brother, but he wanted his own room. One of the luxuries of our modern age is space. Not the far reaching universe explored by daring astronauts, “personal space”… what my brother wanted. Just a couple of generations ago, families, even extended families, lived in homes composed of one large room. Everyone was very close, physically, there was very little privacy, and almost everything was shared… from clothes and shoes to chairs and beds. You always had someone next to you, invading your personal space. This idea of “space” is a relatively new concept. It’s a product of our blessings. As we attain more, we spread out and want the independent area to do our own thing. In essence, the more we acquire, the further removed we become. Most people I know dream of a day when they can have enough money to move out of the suburbs and get some land. They are tired of the zero-lot lined subdivisions or apartments in which so many of us live. They want to get away from the crowds, from the people, and be out on their own. They don’t want isolation, they just want to be able to chose when to invite people into their world, their space, and when to keep them out. How many people do you know who buy a big house on a large tract of land so they can “entertain”, yet, they never do? Being hospitable and interacting takes a lot of work, especially when you have a big house to prepare and clean afterward. It’s not like having the neighbors over for coffee, everything become a big production. This reverse of this concept was recently a reality for me. My family attended a conference that required us to share a one-room hotel room and, worse yet, one bathroom. I was really dreading this. I just knew we would drive each other crazy, but it was actually wonderful. We were together, in one small room, at the dawn and close of each day. We talked and laughed and no one was able to go to their room and close the door. There was no personal space, no isolation. We shared everything, a TV, a bathroom, and beds. We grew closer emotionally through the physical proximity. These few days helped me realize this concept of having our own space is driving a wedge in our relationships. Our efforts to be by ourselves keeps us from intimately knowing those around us, from sharing the defeats and victories in our lives, and prevents us from serving one another. How can we reach those that need us most, physically and spiritually, if we are separating ourselves? As we are blessed, we need to think of greater ways to serve others, bring us closer, rather that spreading out. This will mean less personal space and independence, but will reap greater personal rewards than an empty 50 room mansion ever will. How do you balance personal space with building relationships? ]]> /give-space.html/feed 0 Life is Good? Depending on the day, depending on your mood, your answer may vary. Each day we live, life presents new opportunities and challenges. One day is filled with joy and celebration, while the next is beset with grief and mourning. That’s life… through and through. We don’t control the assignments life hands us. We wake up in the morning and our inbox is full. We can’t go through the paperwork and pull out the things we want to face and throw the others in the trash. We have to deal with the good and the bad. It can often seem that the requirements of each day are insurmountable. Day after day, the burden becomes heavier until we are physically stooped under its weight. Our attitude and outlook begins to tarnish. Sunny days are filled with rain. Dark clouds hover over us wherever we go. We grow negative, pessimistic, and angry toward life. We are consumed with what is wrong, not what has gone right. We are like the Children of Israel after God had performed wondrous signs and freed them from their captivity. We complain and obsess over the journey ahead forgetting who delivered us to this point in our life. Our faith is evaporated. We refuse to look at what God has done and continues to do, we myopically focus on our current condition and say, “Why me?” We may not have control over the lemons we are handed in life, but we determine what we do with them. We can bite into life and pucker at it’s bitter taste or sweeten a sour situation with the proper outlook and make life more palatable. Effective living is all about attitude, perspective, and most importantly faith. If we wake up each morning with a heart of acceptance, understanding our purpose in life and God’s plan for us, we can better handle the challenges we face. Start each day completing the sentence in a uplifting manner. There is a bumper sticker I like that states it pretty simply… Life is Good. After all, life comes from God. We read in Genesis 1 that looking upon his creation he saw that it was VERY GOOD. Who are we to question Him and the works of His hand? This needs to be the vision for our lives. Go out and make it good. It’s within your power, no matter your situation, to make life good. Prioritize your perspective and order your life properly.

It could be any brand, but it is likely to be an Android as they account for more than 80% of today’s cellphone market. You open the box, press the “On” button and the phone connects to the internet. Without further ado, you have just triggered the most sophisticated surveillance machine to date for monitoring your routines. It no longer matters whether you have downloaded Facebook or activated a Google account, or given permission to some app or anti-virus program to access your contacts, camera and microphone. Whatever you do from that moment on, your new cellphone will be sharing details of your activity with the rest of the world. The software that comes pre-installed is the most accurate resource on your phone for predicting where you might be, what you might download, what messages you might send and what music you might listen to.It is the scale of it that makes it so serious: we are talking about hundreds of thousands of millions of Android phonesJUAN TAPIADOR, PROFESSOR AND CO-AUTHOR OF STUDY“The pre-installed apps are an indication of another reality: agreements between actors (manufacturers, data traders, mobile operators and advertisers) for added value, but also for commercial ends,” says Juan Tapiador, a professor at Carlos III University in Madrid and co-author of the study on this alarming situation, along with Narseo Vallina-Rodríguez from IMDEA Networks and the International Computer Science Institute at Berkeley University. While none of the findings are in themselves earth-shattering – we already know, for example, that cellphones walk a fine line when it comes to compiling and sharing data – what they do reveal is the extent of pre-installed apps’ reach, their lack of transparency, and their privileged position within the devices. Researchers analyzed 1,742 phones made by 214 manufacturers in 130 countries.“Until now, research on the risks to privacy from cellphones has been focused on apps that are listed on Google Play or malware,” says Vallina. Instead, he and Tapiador analyzed the pre-installed apps on standard cellphones and it turns out that, due to a complex ecosystem of manufacturers, mobile operators, app developers and service providers, the guarantees offered by Android are looking less than foolproof. The research is to be published in detail on April 1 and will be presented at one of the biggest global cyber security and privacy conferences in the world, the 41st IEEE Symposium on Security & Privacy, in California. The authors gave EL PAÍS an early look at the study, which shows how our personal data is sent to a broad network of interested parties, which generally includes servers belonging to the cellphone’s manufacturer, companies that are regularly accused of harvesting our personal data such as Facebook and Google, but also to a murky world of big corporations and start-ups that package it, tag it and sell it on to whoever offers the right price. Our personal information is sent to a broad network of interested parties, some of which are controversialIn a research project on an unprecedented scale, Tapiador and Vallina created the app Firmware Scanner to pick up the pre-installed software on the cellphones of volunteers. The open code of Android’s operating system means that any manufacturer can have this version of it along with other pre-installed apps. A cellphone can have more than 100 pre-installed apps and a further 100 that are third-party libraries included in the code, many of which are specialized in monitoring the user and in advertising. It is, in effect, an international landscape of hundreds of thousands of apps with common, dubious, unknown, dangerous and potentially criminal uses – a chaotic environment of mass surveillance with only the tip of the iceberg revealed by the year-long research.A jigsaw of partsAn Android cellphone is not produced by just one manufacturer. The chip comes from one company and the updates of the operating system will possibly be outsourced to another, while separate software will be added by the mobile operators and distributors. There are a lot more players involved in the final product than the name on the box might suggest, although the final control of all the software belongs to the brand, which may or may not have privileged access to the user’s data. The result is an ecosystem so complex that all the players can sidestep the responsibility of where our personal data ends up. Google created the open-code platform but this is now available to everyone. And what belongs to everyone belongs to no one. “The world of Android is like the jungle or the Wild West, particularly in countries with little regulation for the protection of personal data,” says Tapiador.Vallina adds, “There is no supervision on what is imported and sold within the European Union when it comes to software, and to a large extent hardware too.”Consequently, each version of our Android cellphones tells its base what we are up to from the moment we turn it on, without skipping a beat. The problem is not only what is said about us, but also that the user has no control over the management of personal data.Google Play’s permissionsThe companies that compile consumer data for advertisers already have access to user data via Google Play’s regular apps. So why do they seek to reach agreements with manufacturers allowing them to be part of the pre-installed software?Imagine our data is stored in a house that has several floors. The Google Play apps would look like windows that we can open and close. Sometimes we let the data out and sometimes not. That depends on each user’s decision on how to manage their personal data. But what this user cannot know is that Android cellphones come with a door that is wide open all the time, making the windows irrelevant. There is no supervision on what is imported and sold within the European Union when it comes to software, and to a large extent hardware tooNARSEO VALLINA-RODRÍGUEZ, CO-AUTHOR OF STUDYPre-installed software is always there. We cannot eliminate it from the device without breaking the protection offered by the system; but this is something beyond the scope of the average user.Apps downloaded from Google Play come with the option of data management. For example, it might say: “Allow your new free game to have access to your microphone?” Or: “Allow your app to access your location to improve its productivity?” If we decide there are too many permission requests, we can simply scrub the app from our phone. Google apps have their own service terms and need to ask explicit permission before acting. The user is ultimately responsible for the management of their data. But pre-installed apps reside below the radar of the indexed apps in the store, and in many cases their permission agreement is incorporated into the operating system. “Google Play is a garden that has a gate that is shut and policed, but 91% of the pre-installed apps that we have seen are not in Google Play,” says Tapiador. And outside Google Play, no one is aware of what is going on in their phone.Additional problemsPre-installed software has two further problems; first, it is inside an operating system that has access to all the cellphone’s functions and, secondly, these apps can be automatically updated, which allows them to mutate. The operating system is the cellphone’s brain. It has constant access to everything and it automatically updates. And these updates are important because a manufacturer might have given permission to a company to be on its mobile code for something innocuous. Then two months later, this can be updated, adding permission for other things such as recording conversations and accessing messages. The pre-installed apps are easy for their creators to update; when the needs of the tracking company change, the creators can introduce new software and new instructions. The owner of the cellphone is powerless to stop that from happening; there is no permission request; the operating system is simply updated. The user does not know that Android cellphones come with a door on their personal data that is wide open“Some of these apps call home base asking for instructions, and they pass along information from the device where they are installed. At times, this information is massive and includes the technical characteristics of the phone, unique identifiers, location, contacts, messages and emails,” says Tapiador. “All this is picked up by a server, which decides what to do with this. According to the country the device is in, the server could decide to install one app or another, or send the user certain ads over others. We discovered this by analyzing the code and the behavior of the apps.”The server that receives the information could be the manufacturer or a social network that sells publicity to unknown data traders, or even an unidentifiable IP address. At times, this information is massive and includes the technical characteristics of the phone, unique identifiers, location, contacts, messages and emailsJUAN TAPIADOROne risk is that these obscure pre-installed apps can use the custom permissions to expose information to Play Store apps. The custom permissions are a tool that Android offers to software developers so that the apps share data with them. For example, if an operator or a bank service has a number of them, it is legal for them to talk between themselves and share data. But at times it is not easy to discover which data is being shared by which pieces of software. In a new cellphone, there could, for example, be a pre-installed app that has access to the camera, contacts and microphone. This app was programmed, say, by Wang Sánchez and it bears a certificate with his public code and signature. It is apparently legitimate but nobody can confirm whether Wang Sánchez’s certificate is bona fide. This app is always on and it clocks the location, activates the microphone and stores the recordings. But it does not send the information to any server because Wang Sánchez’s app does not have permission to send anything through the internet. What it does do is declare a custom permission that regulates access to the data and whoever else has this permission can get ahold of the data. The owner of this cellphone might go to Google Play Store one day and find a fabulous sports app. The only official permission that has been asked for has been access to the internet, which is absolutely normal for apps. But the sports app also asks for the custom permission of the Wang Sánchez app. The sports app is not aware these permissions are not shown to the user. So the first thing it will say to the pre-installed app is, “Do you live here? Give me access to the microphone and the camera.” It was apparently a risk-free app, but the complexities of the system of permissions means these kinds of scenarios are common.Governments and the industry have been aware for years of this process. The US federal agencies ask for their cellphones to come with operating systems that are free of pre-installed software. But ordinary citizens needs to wise up. Their data is not safe. “Having regulatory control over all the possible versions of Android on the market would be almost unmanageable,” says Vallina. “It would require a very expensive and extensive analysis.”The bottom line is that we carry a massively sophisticated surveillance machine in our pockets.THE APP AUTHORSThe authors of these apps are a huge mystery. In fact, Tapiador and Vallina’s research has revealed something not unlike the dark web. There are, for example, apps that are signed by Google, which are unlikely to belong to Google. “Working out who the authors are has been an almost manual task, looking at who has signed each one and if it has any kind of chain that can be linked to a library or known manufacturer,” says Vallina, who explains that while many send acceptable information to manufacturers or big companies, many others hide behind fake names. The information they send out is easily linked to a particular telephone number or to personal data. The phone’s SIM and dozens of apps linked to the email or to social media accounts easily reveal the origin of the data.English version by Heather Galloway.See More]]> Fri, 29 Mar 2024 18:47:13 +0000 1135991315 Central Scrutinizer's blog post was featured Central Scrutinizer's blog post was featuredHEY WHITE PEOPLE, EVERYTHING IS RACIST, AND YOU’RE A TERRIBLE PERSONSOURCE: THE DAILY BELLEverything you do and think is racist, you probably just don’t realize it because you’re so super privileged. You can’t just sit back and hide in your white supremacist neighborhoods anymore. There’s no more abstaining from taking a side on this one. The sins of your ancestors have caught up to you! (Or at least the sins of the ancestors of people who look like you, considering most white Americans are descended from post-Civil War immigrants.)You may think that standing for the national anthem is a normal thing to do. You may have even gone on standing for the national anthem, ignoring the rest of the controversy surrounding the NFL. But it turns out that behaving in a standard traditional fashion is racist.Yep, it’s the old, “you’re either with us or against us,” philosophy. You cannot sit out this manufactured controversy. The Huffington Post says that when you stand, you stand for white supremacy. For white people, the anthem represents freedom. White Americans are full citizens, and black Americans–especially extremely successful millionaire athletes–are second class citizens. You probably just didn’t know that because your life has been lived in a bubble of white privilege. It’s okay, you didn’t know any better. But you’re still a terrible person. You should give your house away to a black family, since “You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.”Oh, Dr. Seuss is also racist, by the way.And here’s another way we know that President Trump is racist. His wife actually sent 10 Dr. Seuss books to a school in Massachusetts. Can you believe it? That’s like, ten times the racism!Luckily, the librarian at the school knew that the books were racist, and rejected them. She wrote Mrs. Trump a letter to explain her white supremacist folly.Another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes. Open one of his books (If I Ran a Zoo or And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, for example), and you’ll see the racist mockery in his art. Grace Hwang Lynch’s School Library Journal article, “Is the Cat in the Hat Racist? Read Across America Shifts Away from Dr. Seuss and Toward Diverse Books,” reports on Katie Ishizuka’s work analyzing the minstrel characteristics and trope nature of Seuss’s characters. Scholar Philip Nel’s new book, Was the Cat in the Hat Black? The Hidden Racism of Children’s Literature, and the Need for Diverse Books, further explores and shines a spotlight on the systemic racism and oppression in education and literature.Thought those were just innocent cartoon images? Think again!I mean it’s so obvious that Dr. Seuss was a racist. He clearly thought star-bellied Sneetches were better than plain-bellied Sneetches. They were so privileged walking around with those stars on their bellies. And then, when the plain-bellied Sneetches started acting all star-bellied, the privileged star-bellied Sneetches culturally appropriated the plain-bellied Sneetches’ style! The point of the story certainly wasn’t that a third party came into town and exploited the natural differences of the Sneetches for personal profit! Dr. Seuss couldn’t have been calling attention to the fact that people will seek to exploit divisions in society for their own motives. So nice try attempting to sit this one out! Unless you swear fealty to demolishing white privilege, then you are racist. And don’t try to end any race problems in your own way! It has to be through government intervention, and acquiescence to the demands of Black Lives Matter. If you do nothing, you are racist.See More]]> Sat, 24 Feb 2024 05:04:29 +0000 1133249809 Less Prone favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion How Kellogg’s is hiding GMOs from you Less Prone favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion How Kellogg’s is hiding GMOs from you]]> Mon, 28 Aug 2023 17:33:30 +0000 1127956871 Tim Brown replied to Central Scrutinizer's discussion Here’s Why 3D Printing Guns Are A Win For World Peace and a Potential Death Blow To Tyranny in the group Guns and Tactics Tim Brown replied to Central Scrutinizer's discussion Here’s Why 3D Printing Guns Are A Win For World Peace and a Potential Death Blow To Tyranny in the group Guns and Tactics]]> Wed, 21 Dec 2022 09:29:37 +0000 1125829631 Doc Vega favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion BEFORE ASSANGE, SNOWDEN, AND MANNING, THE DEEP STATE TARGETED JOHN LENNON Doc Vega favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion BEFORE ASSANGE, SNOWDEN, AND MANNING, THE DEEP STATE TARGETED JOHN LENNON]]> Sun, 18 Sep 2022 19:19:14 +0000 1123325218 tjdavis favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion 25 Signs That The Global Elite’s Ship Is About To Sink tjdavis favorited Central Scrutinizer's discussion 25 Signs That The Global Elite’s Ship Is About To Sink]]> Sun, 10 Jul 2022 23:47:15 +0000 1117212092 Doc Vega commented on Central Scrutinizer's blog post Exclusive: 57 leading scientists, doctors, and public policy experts call for IMMEDIATE HALT to Covid vaccine programs Doc Vega commented on Central Scrutinizer's blog post Exclusive: 57 leading scientists, doctors, and public policy experts call for IMMEDIATE HALT to Covid vaccine programs]]> Thu, 30 Dec 2021 21:15:42 +0000 1117197055 Central Scrutinizer's blog post was featured Central Scrutinizer's blog post was featuredExclusive: 57 leading scientists, doctors, and public policy experts call for IMMEDIATE HALT to Covid vaccine programsExclusive: 57 leading scientists, doctors, and public policy experts call for IMMEDIATE HALT to Covid vaccine programsThis may be the most important document ever written about the Covid-19 vaccines.SOURCE: There are two certainties about the Covid-19 vaccines being mass-distributed around the world. The second is that those who are brave enough to face the scorn that comes with asking serious questions about the vaccines are absolutely necessary components of our ongoing fight to spread the truth.NOQ Report received an advanced copy of the manuscript in preprint below. It has been prepared by nearly five dozen highly respected doctors, scientists, and public policy experts from across the globe to be urgently sent to world leaders as well as all who are associated with the production and distribution of the various Covid-19 vaccines in circulation today. There are still far too many questions about the safety, efficacy, and necessity of the Covid-19 vaccines that have not been addressed. Despite progress on early multidrug therapy for COVID-19 patients, the current mandate is to immunize the world population as quickly as possible. The lack of thorough testing in animals prior to clinical trials, and authorization based on safety data generated during trials that lasted less than 3.5 months, raise questions regarding the safety of these vaccines. The recently identified role of SARS-CoV-2 glycoprotein Spike for inducing endothelial damage characteristic of COVID-19, even in absence of infection, is extremely relevant given that most of the authorized vaccines induce the production of Spike glycoprotein in the recipients. Given the high rate of occurrence of adverse effects, and the wide range of types of adverse effects that have been reported to date, as well as the potential for vaccine-driven disease enhancement, Th2-immunopathology, autoimmunity, and immune evasion, there is a need for a better understanding of the benefits and risks of mass vaccination, particularly in the groups that were excluded in the clinical trials. Despite calls for caution, the risks of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination have been minimized or ignored by health organizations and government authorities. We appeal to the need for a pluralistic dialogue in the context of health policies, emphasizing critical questions that require urgent answers if we wish to avoid a global erosion of public confidence in science and public health.IntroductionSince COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, over 150 million cases and 3 million deaths have been reported worldwide. Despite progress on early ambulatory, multidrug-therapy for high-risk patients, resulting in 85% reductions in COVID-19 hospitalization and death [1], the current paradigm for control is mass-vaccination. While we recognize the effort involved in development, production and emergency authorization of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, we are concerned that risks have been minimized or ignored by health organizations and government authorities, despite calls for caution [2-8].Vaccines for other coronaviruses have never been approved for humans, and data generated in the development of coronavirus vaccines designed to elicit neutralizing antibodies show that they may worsen COVID-19 disease via antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) and Th2 immunopathology, regardless of the vaccine platform and delivery method [9-11]. Vaccine-driven disease enhancement in animals vaccinated against SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV is known to occur following viral challenge, and has been attributed to immune complexes and Fc-mediated viral capture by macrophages, which augment T-cell activation and inflammation [11-13].In March 2020, vaccine immunologists and coronavirus experts assessed SARS-CoV-2 vaccine risks based on SARS-CoV-vaccine trials in animal models. The expert group concluded that ADE and immunopathology were a real concern, but stated that their risk was insufficient to delay clinical trials, although continued monitoring would be necessary [14]. While there is no clear evidence of the occurrence of ADE and vaccine-related immunopathology in volunteers immunized with SARS-CoV-2 vaccines [15], safety trials to date have not specifically addressed these serious adverse effects (SAE). Given that the follow-up of volunteers did not exceed 2-3.5 months after the second dose [16-19], it is unlikely such SAE would have been observed. Despite92 errors in reporting, it cannot be ignored that even accounting for the number of vaccines administered, according to the US Vaccine Adverse Effect Reporting System (VAERS), the number of deaths per million vaccine doses administered has increased more than 10-fold. We believe there is an urgent need for open scientific dialogue on vaccine safety in the context of large-scale immunization. In this paper, we describe some of the risks of mass vaccination in the context of phase 3 trial exclusion criteria and discuss the SAE reported in national and regional adverse effect registration systems. We highlight unanswered questions and draw attention to the need for a more cautious approach to mass vaccination.SARS-CoV-2 phase 3 trial exclusion criteriaWith few exceptions, SARS-CoV-2 vaccine trials excluded the elderly [16-19], making it impossible to identify the occurrence of post-vaccination eosinophilia and enhanced inflammation in elderly people. Studies of SARS-CoV vaccines showed that immunized elderly mice were at particularly high risk of life-threatening Th2 immunopathology [9,20]. Despite this evidence and the extremely limited data on safety and efficacy of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in the elderly, mass-vaccination campaigns have focused on this age group from the start. Most trials also excluded pregnant and lactating volunteers, as well as those with chronic and serious conditions such as tuberculosis, hepatitis C, autoimmunity, coagulopathies, cancer, and immune suppression [16-29], although these recipients are now being offered the vaccine under the premise of safety.Another criterion for exclusion from nearly all trials was prior exposure to SARS-CoV-2. This is unfortunate as it denied the opportunity of obtaining extremely relevant information concerning post-vaccination ADE in people that already have anti-SARS-Cov-2 antibodies. To the best of our knowledge, ADE is not being monitored systematically for any age or medical condition group currently being administered the vaccine. Moreover, despite a substantial proportion of the population already having antibodies [21], tests to determine SARS-CoV-2-antibody status prior to administration of the vaccine are not conducted routinely. Will serious adverse effects from the SARS-CoV-2 vaccines go unnoticed?COVID-19 encompasses a wide clinical spectrum, ranging from very mild to severe pulmonary pathology and fatal multi-organ disease with inflammatory, cardiovascular, and blood coagulation dysregulation [22-24]. In this sense, cases of vaccine-related ADE or immunopathology would be clinically-indistinguishable from severe COVID-19 [25]. Furthermore, even in the absence of SARS-CoV-2 virus, Spike glycoprotein alone causes endothelial damage and hypertension in vitro and in vivo in Syrian hamsters by down-regulating angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and impairing mitochondrial function [26]. Although these findings need to be confirmed in humans, the implications of this finding are staggering, as all vaccines authorized for emergency use are based on the delivery or induction of Spike glycoprotein synthesis. In the case of mRNA vaccines and adenovirus-vectorized vaccines, not a single study has examined the duration of Spike production in humans following vaccination. Under the cautionary principle, it is parsimonious to consider vaccine-induced Spike synthesis could cause clinical signs of severe COVID-19, and erroneously be counted as new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections. If so, the true adverse effects of the current global vaccination strategy may never be recognized unless studies specifically examine this question. There is already non-causal evidence of temporary or sustained increases138 in COVID-19 deaths following vaccination in some countries (Fig. 1) and in light of Spike’s pathogenicity, these deaths must be studied in depth to determine whether they are related to vaccination.Unanticipated adverse reactions to SARS-CoV-2 vaccinesAnother critical issue to consider given the global scale of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination is autoimmunity. SARS-CoV-2 has numerous immunogenic proteins, and all but one of its immunogenic epitopes have similarities to human proteins [27]. These may act as a source of antigens, leading to autoimmunity [28]. While it is true that the same effects could be observed during natural infection with SARS-CoV-2, vaccination is intended for most of the world population, while it is estimated that only 10% of the world population has been infected by SARS-CoV-2, according to Dr. Michael Ryan, head of emergencies at the World Health Organization. We have been unable to find evidence that any of the currently authorized vaccines screened and excluded homologous immunogenic epitopes to avoid potential autoimmunity due to pathogenic priming. Some adverse reactions, including blood-clotting disorders, have already been reported in healthy and young vaccinated people. These cases led to the suspension or cancellation of the use of adenoviral vectorized ChAdOx1-nCov-19 and Janssen vaccinesin some countries. It has now been proposed that vaccination with ChAdOx1-nCov-19 can result in immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) mediated by platelet-activating antibodies against Platelet factor-4, which clinically mimics autoimmune heparin-induced thrombocytopenia [29]. Unfortunately, the risk was overlooked when authorizing these vaccines, although adenovirus-induced thrombocytopenia has been known for more than a decade, and has been a consistent event with adenoviral vectors [30]. The risk of VITT would presumably be higher in those already at risk of blood clots, including women who use oral contraceptives [31], making it imperative for clinicians to advise their patients accordingly. At the population level, there could also be vaccine-related impacts. SARS-CoV-2 is a fast-evolving RNA virus that has so far produced more than 40,000 variants [32,33] some of which affect the antigenic domain of Spike glycoprotein [34,35]. Given the high mutation rates, vaccine-induced synthesis of high levels of anti-SARS-CoV-2-Spike antibodies could theoretically lead to suboptimal responses against subsequent infections by other variants in vaccinated individuals [36], a phenomenon known as “original antigenic sin” [37] or antigenic priming [38]. It is unknown to what extent mutations that affect SARS-CoV-2 antigenicity will become fixed during viral evolution [39], but vaccines could plausibly act as selective forces driving variants with higher infectivity or transmissibility. Considering the high similarity between known SARS-CoV-2 variants, this scenario is unlikely [32,34] but if future variants were to differ more in key epitopes, the global vaccination strategy might have helped shape an even more dangerous virus. This risk has recently been brought to the attention of the WHO as an open letter [40].DiscussionThe risks outlined here are a major obstacle to continuing global SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. Evidence on the safety of all SARS-CoV-2 vaccines is needed before exposing more people to the184 risk of these experiments, since releasing a candidate vaccine without time to fully understand the resulting impact on health could lead to an exacerbation of the current global crisis [41]. Risk-stratification of vaccine recipients is essential. According to the UK government, people below 60 years of age have an extremely low risk of dying from COVID-191 187 . However, according to Eudravigillance, most of the serious adverse effects following SARS-CoV-2 vaccination occur in people aged 18-64. Of particular concern is the planned vaccination schedule for children aged 6 years and older in the United States and the UK. Dr. Anthony Fauci recently anticipated that teenagers across the country will be vaccinated in the autumn and younger children in early 2022, and the UK is awaiting trial results to commence vaccination of 11 million children under 18. There is a lack of scientific justification for subjecting healthy children to experimental vaccines, given that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that they have a 99.997% survival rate if infected with SARS-CoV-2. Not only is COVID-19 irrelevant as a threat to this age group, but there is no reliable evidence to support vaccine efficacy or effectiveness in this population or to rule out harmful side effects of these experimental vaccines. In this sense, when physicians advise patients on the elective administration of COVID-19 vaccination, there is a great need to better understand the benefits and risk of administration, particularly in understudied groups. In conclusion, in the context of the rushed emergency-use-authorization of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, and the current gaps in our understanding of their safety, the following questions must be raised:Is it known whether cross-reactive antibodies from previous coronavirus infections or vaccine206 induced antibodies may influence the risk of unintended pathogenesis following vaccination with COVID-19?Has the specific risk of ADE, immunopathology, autoimmunity, and serious adverse reactions been clearly disclosed to vaccine recipients to meet the medical ethics standard of patient understanding for informed consent? If not, what are the reasons, and how could it be implemented? What is the rationale for administering the vaccine to every individual when the risk of dying from COVID-19 is not equal across age groups and clinical conditions and when the phase 3 trials excluded the elderly, children and frequent specific conditions? What are the legal rights of patients if they are harmed by a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine? Who will cover the costs of medical treatment? If claims were to be settled with public money, has the public been made aware that the vaccine manufacturers have been granted immunity, and their responsibility to compensate those harmed by the vaccine has been transferred to the tax-payers?In the context of these concerns, we propose halting mass-vaccination and opening an urgent pluralistic, critical, and scientifically-based dialogue on SARS-CoV-2 vaccination among scientists, medical doctors, international health agencies, regulatory authorities, governments, and vaccine developers. This is the only way to bridge the current gap between scientific evidence and public health policy regarding the SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. We are convinced that humanity deserves a deeper understanding of the risks than what is currently touted as the official position. An open scientific dialogue is urgent and indispensable to avoid erosion of public confidence in science and public health and to ensure that the WHO and national health authorities protect the interests of humanity during the current pandemic. Returning public health policy to evidence-based medicine, relying on a careful evaluation of the relevant scientific research, is urgent. It is imperative to follow the science.1 Conflict of Interest StatementThe authors declare that the research was conducted in the absence of any commercial or financial relationships that could be construed as a potential conflict of interest.ReferencesMcCullough PA, Alexander PE, Armstrong R, et al. Graphs were built using data from Our World in Data (accessed 4 May 2021) Editor’s Notes:It is a privilege to be able to post this for the world to see. Covid-19 has prompted terrible decisions for over a year from policy-makers, doctors, and the general population. We have not seen anything like this in our lifetimes, so mistakes were made. But the time is now to correct as many of those mistakes as possible. In many ways, it seems that pride and defense of professional integrity have prolonged many of the worst decisions we’ve seen with this pandemic. From prolonged lockdowns (remember 15 days?) to rushed vaccines, too many in power have stayed the course even when a course correction was clearly called for and, in many cases, required. Instead, we continue down the same dangerous path. That is why this paper from these courageous doctors and scientists is so important and must be spread widely. The people need to know the truth so that policy-makers can be told how to properly proceed. As long as fear, both rational and irrational, is driving the decision-making process for people in power, we will only slow or even stop progress towards fixing this situation for the whole world. It will be difficult for “fact-checkers” to argue against the points made in this blockbuster report, but they will try. It goes against the perpetuation of terror that the mainstream as adopted as the status quo. But truth is truth, and here it is.‘The Purge’ by Big Tech targets conservatives, including usJust when we thought the Covid-19 lockdowns were ending and our ability to stay afloat was improving, censorship reared its ugly head. For the last few months, NOQ Report, Conservative Playbook, and the American Conservative Movement have appealed to our readers for assistance in staying afloat through Covid-19 lockdowns. The downturn in the economy has limited our ability to generate proper ad revenue just as our traffic was skyrocketing. We had our first sustained stretch of three months with over a million visitors in November, December, and January, but February saw a dip.It wasn’t just the shortened month. We expected that. We also expected the continuation of dropping traffic from “woke” Big Tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter, but it has actually been much worse than anticipated. Our Twitter account was banned. Both of our YouTube accounts were banned. Facebook “fact-checks” everything we post. Spotify canceled us. Medium canceled us. Apple canceled us. Why? Because we believe in the truth prevailing, and that means we will continue to discuss “taboo” topics. The 2020 presidential election was stolen. You can’t say that on Big Tech platforms without risking cancellation, but we’d rather get cancelled for telling the truth rather than staying around to repeat mainstream media’s lies. They have been covering it up since before the election and they’ve convinced the vast majority of conservative news outlets that they will be harmed if they continue to discuss voter fraud. We refuse to back down. The truth is the truth. The lies associated with Covid-19 are only slightly more prevalent than the suppression of valid scientific information that runs counter to the prescribed narrative. We should be allowed to ask questions about the vaccines, for example, as there is ample evidence for concern. One does not have to be an “anti-vaxxer” in order to want answers about vaccines that are still considered experimental and that have a track record in a short period of time of having side-effects, including death. One of our stories about the Johnson & Johnson “vaccine” causing blood clots was “fact-checked” and removed one day before the government hit the brakes on it. These questions and news items are not allowed on Big Tech which is just another reason we are getting canceled. There are more topics that they refuse to allow. In turn, we refuse to stop discussing them. This is why we desperately need your help. The best way NOQ, CP, and ACM readers can help is to donate. Our Giving Fuel page makes it easy to donate one-time or monthly. Alternatively, you can donate through PayPal as well. We are on track to be short by about $4100 per month in order to maintain operations. The second way to help is to become a partner. We’ve strongly considered seeking angel investors in the past but because we were paying the bills, it didn’t seem necessary. Now, we’re struggling to pay the bills. We had 5,657,724 sessions on our website from November, 2020, through February, 2021. Our intention is to elevate that to higher levels this year by focusing on a strategy that relies on free speech rather than being beholden to progressive Big Tech companies.During that four-month stretch, Twitter and Facebook accounted for about 20% of our traffic. We are actively working on operating as if that traffic is zero, replacing it with platforms that operate more freely such as Gab, Parler, and others. While we were never as dependent on Big Tech as most conservative sites, we’d like to be completely free from them. That doesn’t mean we will block them, but we refuse to be beholden to companies that absolutely despise us simply because of our political ideology. We’re heading in the right direction and we believe we’re ready talk to patriotic investors who want to not only “get in on the action” but more importantly who want to help America hear the truth. Interested investors should contact me directly with the contact button above.2021/05/08/57-leading-scientists-doctors-and-public-policy-experts-call-for-immediate-halt-to-covid-vaccine-programs/As the world spirals towards radical progressivism, the need for truthful journalism has never been greater. But in these times, we need as many conservative media voices as possible.

Several years ago, I met my junior from polytechnic while teaching photography at ITE. She was working there as well. Then in recent times,, I witnessed one of her important milestone in life when I was the photographer to her beautiful newborn baby. Months and days past, her little girl grew and we met once again due to photography. She was back again in my studio for her family photoshoot, happily holding her adorable little girl with her husband. I was glad that my modest studio could be a part of her family’s memory, though they had opted their family photoshoot at the studio because of a very practical reason, the cool cool breeze that blows out from my air-conditioner. Studio photoshoot is indeed the better option when you do not want to battle with the Singapore weather. “Ah girl, do you remember that we went to this lamp post looking uncle’s studio for your baby photoshoot?” I imagined a conversation like this could happen in her family in the future. My answer is always “of course”, because for many pet owners, our furry pals are important members of the family too. Moreover, having the furry ones around always make the shoot more interesting. Once during a maternity shoot, I met the ‘shoe, shoe’ dog. “Shoe, shoe,” I said to the little white poodle, and just like my clients said she would, she tilted her head quizzically, making everyone smile. She was a delight to have, indulging us with her adorable antics and following with what we asked of her. Below are some images to share. I believe only few of us could find old pictures of our mothers during pregnancy. These days however, more mothers and their families are embracing the idea of maternity photoshoot. It probably stemmed from our generation’s wonderment of how it was like when our mothers were pregnant with us. Wouldn’t it be great if there were pictures of those times coupled with stories of your foetus days. Nick and Devi thought it will be great too. Preferring my lifestyle-like maternity photography, they engaged me as their photographer. We arranged for both indoor and outdoor photoshoot sessions. Our indoor photoshoot was done in their house. They wanted to keep memories of their yet-to-be borned child’s first home. It was followed by an outing shoot at Sembawang park that was close by. The fun loving couple wore jerseys of their favourite soccer team proudly for their home photoshoot (My fellow soccer fans! But I’m their rival). I’m guessing soccer is one of the sport they will be playing with their child. After a change of clothes, we proceeded to the beach. Surrounded by greenery, cooled by sea breeze, we felt relaxed and contented. In the relaxed atmosphere, we are able to captured the sweet and loving interactions between couple and towards their unborn child. Besides an album of the couple’s amazing journey to parenthood, one of the images will be printed on a canvas and hang on the wall of their warm and loving home, reminding the family the love and anticipation during that period of time. Well we do have a studio, and recently had a pair of adorable young “Bruce Lee” siblings over for their family photoshoot. I first met boy “Bruce Lee” during his infant photoshoot when he was just a week old. Now nearing one year old, he returned with his parents and sister for their family photography. Like their hero, the siblings put on their favourite yellow track suits, and showed off their latest Kung Fu moves with their toy nunchakus. With my pride on the line as a photographer and Kung Fu fan, I was not to be outdone by my opponents. I stealthily took out my weapon, and display some moves of my own with my trusty camera. Hi-yah! The siblings did not only show off their Kung Fu side, boy “Bruce Lee” also displayed his musical side with his toy drum, which is one of his favourite toy. His sister sweetened our day looking like an angel in her pretty outfit and flower headdress. We always encourage parents to bring along their children’s favourite toys and whatever props they deemed suitable to make the photoshoot more fun for them for studio photography and we were glad that the family did just that, making their family photography a blast for all of us as a result. Now that I am old, I admire kind people. -Abraham Joshua Heschel Recently, I was awarded an honourable mention from International Photography Award (IPA) 2013. I am sincerely grateful to be included and feel especially encouraged because the honourable mention was for my work with “Project Give”, a dear and meaningful project to me. Last year, Yong How and I met Rae from “Project Give” for the first time. I was making casual conversation with her like any usual day when you first meet a new acquaintance; never did I expect it to become a start of an experience that would be so fulfilling. Rae had shared with us about “Project Give”, a project she initiated after she had received kindness from others while taking care of her child with special needs. Moved by her cause, we felt that it is only right for us to give back to the society too. Acknowledging our intention, Rae came up with the idea of us taking photographs of families with children of special needs. Through photography, more people will come to understand the living circumstances of these children with special needs and their families. We both thought it was a great idea. Photography is our passion, and to use our passion to help others, I can’t think of anything more satisfying. Under “Project Give”, we took pictures of three families with children of special needs. During those time spent with them, I realised that when you give, you really do receive. It was a familiar phrase we heard, but you only truly believe it when you experience it yourself. I participated in the project wanting to give back, but I found myself getting something back at the same time. Not only that I felt great helping them, I learnt many things from them. Things like hope, sacrifice, determination, commitment and love that I thought I already knew. Having received so much from Project Give, I hope that more people would be encouraged to offer their expertise to help those families in need. I am sure you would receive much more in return. The post Just one more lane: TfNSW revives WestConnex zombie Alexandria to Moore Park road project first appeared on Jake Coppinger.]]> All roads lead to the Rozelle Interchange. Photographed 2026-09-14. You read that right – just yesterday[a] TfNSW announced a proposal[3] to widen an inner Sydney road and demolish footpaths and trees (map[4]). In the year 2026. We desperately need more homes, we need more bus lanes, we need to ‘fix’ traffic – but this should be done by reallocating road space – per TfNSW’s great policy. The TfNSW fever dream of ”just one more lane” of urban road capacity will induce more vehicles, and will not ‘fix’ traffic.[5] Some historical context: this is the intersection of both the Southern Arterial Route (~13,000 words, 168 references) and the Alexandria to Moore Park Project (~3,500 words, 80 references).[b] Let’s not pretend this is about buses – this is a smokescreen for a classic road widening project. The southbound AM peak bus lane is proposed precisely because that’s when there’s less southbound car traffic – because most folks are heading into the city for work. The word for this, is misdirection. The project page includes a “Project documents” heading yet TfNSW couldn’t find any documents to put there. Would you get away with spending $22 million of taxpayer money without providing a decent reason? The time for attributing to stupidity is long gone: $22 million to build more lanes without a PM peak bus lane out of the CBD – is malice. Where’s the evidence? Perhaps some bus delay data? Modelling of a bus lane all the way from that pedestrian crossing TfNSW ripped out at Harris St and Pyrmont Bridge Road[7][8][c][d] all the way down to Green Square – or am I dreaming? Imagine TfNSW openly releasing signal phasing, let alone vehicle volumes – the stuff of fantasy! Does anyone seriously believe the point of spending $22m is an AM peak-only bus lane away from the CBD? Is suffixing “…and bus corridor improvements” on a project really going to sneak this past the Ministers? This wouldn’t be the first time.[12][13][14][15][16] What transport study found “57 vehicles would be spread across the alternative routes during the AM peak hour…“[3][e] I’ve made an informal[17] request to TfNSW for any transport studies or impact assessments – given a GIPA[f] wouldn’t arrive in time before the ‘feedback’ deadline. Join my blog mailing list if you want those cold hard PDFs as soon as I get them. Make no mistake; this is a horrifying WestConnex project. ‘Improving’ this intersection was “Major design feature 4” in the November 2019 Alexandria to Moore Park Stage 1 REF[19]: 6 : 44 (PDF 62) , with the aim of “Improving intersection capacity”[19]: 5  (for cars). A2MP Stage 1 was carried out under WestConnex planning condition E40 b iii[g] and A2MP Stage 1 sits under the TfNSW Network Integrations team.[25]: 39 (PDF 41)  Worse than a WestConnex project, the Government offloaded soaring spending onto the TfNSW Network Integration Program (the taxpayer)[h] – according to none other than the NSW Audit office in their scathing assessment.[26] Integration meaning getting cars in and out of WestConnex; this team was previously the WestConnex Enabling works.[26]: p. 12 (PDF 16)  Who exactly is behind the now-dead WD weave[25]: 36 (PDF 38)  and this project? My call out to Journalists: it seems that not even a painful reorg can fix this cyclic pattern – start digging here. Where are we talking about? 400 metres from the Waterloo Metro station, one block from Waterloo renewal project and spitting distance from high density Green Square.[i] Only a dinosaur of a road engineer would seriously believe adding more car lanes here is the best way to support 10,000 homes.[31] The Southern Arterial has already left a scar through Redfern / Waterloo. Do we really need to deepen the wound? TfNSW wrote they considered alternatives to a right turn ban – by demolishing private houses and felling even more trees.[3]: §Right turn removal [j][k] This reminds me of the 1980s argument against alternatives for the Southern Arterial threatening housing destruction.[34]: p. 107 [l] Presenting diabolical alternatives to rationalise action is some Department of Main Roads-era rubbish. Ron Hoenig supported this ‘upgrade’ when it got on the AIF books in 2023, claiming increasing this intersection capacity (for cars) would ease traffic induced by WestConnex (“These improvements at McEvoy Street and Botany Road will help to ease traffic gridlock that is already taking a toll on Waterloo and Alexandria as a result of WestConnex.”[35]). One more lane will fix it! It’s a mystery why he supports this now, given he opposed the Alexandria to Moore Park project (A2MP) in the past[36][37] – along with Matt Thistlethwaite[38], Alex Greenwich[39][40][41], Marjorie O’Neill[42], Jenny Leong[40], “mobilised” councillors across Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra[36], Clover Moore[36], and News Corp.[38][36][43] It seems TfNSW picked good timing. The CEO of the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation, at the very corner of this project is apparently away until next week, and the staff there hadn’t heard of this (nor any business owners I chatted to, except the newsagent).[44] With only 2 weeks of “feedback” – the word “consultation” doesn’t appear once on the project page[3] feedback form[45] or on the project timeline – it seems this project is already approved and a fait accompli. And why would it need consultation or approval anyway? A2MP Stage 1 was approved and is still “in progress” as of yesterday.[46] While A2MP plans were “scaled back” in 2019[47][48], the December 2016[49] and June 2017 Community Updates[50] remain the “Ultimate Concept Design”, for which the “staged process will now allow additional review”.[51]: 82 (PDF 91)  There’s no sign TfNSW is giving up road widening further east (outside the childcare centre[52]), and potentially private property demolition. Remember when Graham had to stop TfNSW from demolishing 200 homes on Parramatta Road just 2 years ago?[53] What do we have to do to stop TfNSW continuing with these insane urban road widening projects? This corridor has been on the books for at least half a century (perhaps originating from the mythical unreleased 1940 MRDP Part 1[54][55][56]: 2 [57][58][59][m] and De Leuw Cather from August 1961[66][n]). The DMR has a long memory (1986[o]), but Wikipedia has a longer one. How do those dinosaurs in the “vehicle-focused” “clan”[68] outlive every TfNSW reorg? I don’t want to be consulted; I want the department to follow their own damn (good) policy. Is the word reallocation that hard to comprehend? Do we really need another TfNSW strategy[69] to tell themselves what to do[p] Or another Grattan[71] or NSW Productivity Commission report[72]? Ministers, anyone pushing this agenda are playing you for fools. Policy thinktanks, urbanist advocacy organisations, local resident and community groups, supply-side reformers: I am calling on you to kill this road widening project for good. Increasing private vehicle capacity – “providing a more efficient connection for drivers travelling through the area.”[3]: §Right turn removal [q] – through car-focused modelling is not the way to service more housing.[73] If a bus lane is needed (it is) – paint the damn lane red and save the $22 million (~$20k/metre[4]).[r] We need “dedicated bus lanes” for “bus priority”[75] and “active transport links”[75][76][77] There’s a consultation feedback form, but once you’ve angrily filled that out – let the Ministers responsible know how you feel: John Graham and Jenny Aitchison. Note: if you spot any errors, please let me know – I whipped up this blog post on the afternoon/evening of 2026-09-14. I include quotes and page numbers (including PDF page numbers) for your verifiability. Enjoy it while it lasts. Gone by next year. Photographed 2026-09-14. One more lane will fix it. You’re not the first.[6] It’s too good to print – yet. ↑ To save motorists a potential 8 seconds in the AM peak[9]: 83, 84 , according to the modelling. ↑ And for a northbound bus lane, good thing we widened a 50km/h inner-Sydney slip lane[10][11] – at St Paul’s Place right between two of Australia’s busiest train stations – “Making a bad road more awful” (Bicycle NSW). Ostensibly, one of the two project goals was “improving safety”. I trust that is true, DORAS & M&P policies were followed, and physical and temporal road user space is being prioritised for public and active transport before private vehicles – on a 2-star AusRAP road. I’m not aware of any community consultation: the community notice was published up to 12 days before construction – if one searches for TfNSW community notices on New Years Day. ↑ May reduce pressure? Get out of here! Who does TfNSW think they’re fooling here, advocates figured out this line decades ago.“Improving the Botany Road and McEvoy Street intersection may also reduce pressure along alternative routes such as Henderson Road and Mitchell Road by providing a more efficient connection for drivers travelling through the area.”[3] ↑ I’ve dropped $441 on a GIPA before, and I’ll … do it again![18] ↑ Keen readers will also note this covered a “Road Network Performance Review Plan” including “Euston Road, between Sydney Park Road and Botany Road” (E40 B iii)[20] – did anyone spot how quietly that[21] was uploaded? With “review date” 2025-10, doc 2026-06, (per sitemap.xml?page=1) 2026-07-08, TfNSW page updated 2026-02 – what am I supposed to make of that? Good thing Parramatta Road doesn’t need bus lanes apparently.[21]: p. 81 (PDF 91)  Has John Graham been ignored: does this read like property acquisition is still on the cards? “Property acquisition … could increase cost, delivery timeframes and viability for some projects.”[21]: p. 129 (PDF 143)  Almost as impressive is the robots meta content including noindex, nofollow, noarchive, nosnippet, noimageindex on the page linking to the Rozelle Interchange and Western Harbour Tunnel Enabling Works Design and Construction Deed[22], dated 24 November 2023[22]: PDF 4 , created in 2024 (according to the file metadata) and published about two weeks ago.[23][24] ↑ “funded outside the $16.812 billion budget” for WestConnex with the removal from the budget not “supported by robust analysis and justification”[25]: 2 (PDF 6)  ↑ It’s a miracle Green Square turned out how it is.[27]: pp. 31-33 [28][29][30] ↑ “We investigated alternatives to a right turn ban from McEvoy Street into Botany Road including providing a dedicated right turn lane. This option required significant private property acquisition as well as impacts to trees and parking and was not progressed.”[3]: §Right turn removal  ↑ And amusingly, impacts on car parking[3]: §Right turn removal  like elsewhere: 10k homes to 34 stories, but apparently removing a few car parks is just too hard![32]: p. 30 [33]: pp. 6,67  Someone else must have written “…the provision of homes in Edgecliff and Woollahra results in a net reduction in vehicle kilometres travelled by car across the GMA, when compared to a base case where this growth might have taken place in locations further away from public transport and amenities. This is illustrative of the potential benefits of transport oriented development as opposed to ‘organic’ growth in areas less well served by existing public transport and amenities.“[32]: p. 97  ↑ “…high capacity limited access route would cause severe severance effects in the community and in particular would affect the Aboriginal housing area in Chippendale as a result of the need to cross the railway on a new alignment”[34]: p. 107  ↑ Still not as mythical[60] as the PBN! Transport for NSW applied for privilege on 15 documents[61][62] (under SO52(5) at the time[63]). 24 non-privileged spreadsheets[64] and 638 non-privileged documents were released and are accessible to the public.[65] The Parliament of NSW website index you have likely already read, dear eagle-eyed reader, omits these 638 documents. Let historians note one version of the Non-privileged – Excel document[65] states 25 items but actually has 24 rows: row with count 21 is skipped. Perhaps TfNSW could just give Bicycle NSW the PBN geospatial files[60] and save me the effort of trawling through 2356 pages of internal emails and documents? I’ve got better things to do. ↑ It’s uncanny how well the 1961 DLC report predicted the location of the Rozelle interchange.[66]: Plate 16  ↑ “The DMR has a long memory and has at last talked the government around to the plans it has always had its heart set on” – Stephen Harris, Senior Lecturer in Town Planning, UNSW, 1986.[67] ↑ Or worse, ask volunteers to tell them to follow their own strategy: “…when a government agency writes 100 pages “discussing” a problem its own existing policy already solved on paper three years ago, is that a discussion — or a very long way of not implementing something?””[70] ↑ “While we understand this change may result in reduced connectivity for some road users, it will reduce congestion and queuing through the intersection and improve travel time reliability for all road users. Improving the Botany Road and McEvoy Street intersection may also reduce pressure along alternative routes such as Henderson Road and Mitchell Road by providing a more efficient connection for drivers travelling through the area.”[3]: §Right turn removal  ↑ At least the dollars come with a bus lane, unlike Fifteenth Avenue.[74] References ↑ /* Errors processing stylesheet [[:Module:Citation/CS1/styles.css]] (rev 21): ⧼ul⧽ ⧼li⧽ Invalid or unsupported value for property ⧼code⧽background⧼/code⧽ at line 44 character 14. ⧼/li⧽ ⧼li⧽ Invalid or unsupported value for property ⧼code⧽background⧼/code⧽ at line 50 character 14. ⧼/li⧽ ⧼li⧽ Invalid or unsupported value for property ⧼code⧽background⧼/code⧽ at line 55 character 14. ⧼/li⧽ ⧼li⧽ Invalid or unsupported value for property ⧼code⧽background⧼/code⧽ at line 64 character 14. ⧼/li⧽ ⧼/ul⧽ */ .mw-parser-output cite.citation{font-style:inherit;word-wrap:break-word}.mw-parser-output .citation q{quotes:"\"""\"""'""'"}.mw-parser-output .citation:target{background-color:rgba(0,127,255,0.133)}.mw-parser-output .id-lock-free.id-lock-free a{}.mw-parser-output .id-lock-limited.id-lock-limited a,.mw-parser-output .id-lock-registration.id-lock-registration a{}.mw-parser-output .id-lock-subscription.id-lock-subscription a{}.mw-parser-output .cs1-ws-icon a{}body:not(.skin-timeless):not(.skin-minerva) .mw-parser-output .id-lock-free a,body:not(.skin-timeless):not(.skin-minerva) .mw-parser-output .id-lock-limited a,body:not(.skin-timeless):not(.skin-minerva) .mw-parser-output .id-lock-registration a,body:not(.skin-timeless):not(.skin-minerva) .mw-parser-output .id-lock-subscription a,body:not(.skin-timeless):not(.skin-minerva) .mw-parser-output .cs1-ws-icon a{background-size:contain;padding:0 1em 0 0}.mw-parser-output .cs1-code{color:inherit;background:inherit;border:none;padding:inherit}.mw-parser-output .cs1-hidden-error{display:none;color:var(--color-error,#d33)}.mw-parser-output .cs1-visible-error{color:var(--color-error,#d33)}.mw-parser-output .cs1-maint{display:none;color:#085;margin-left:0.3em}.mw-parser-output .cs1-kern-left{padding-left:0.2em}.mw-parser-output .cs1-kern-right{padding-right:0.2em}.mw-parser-output .citation .mw-selflink{font-weight:inherit}@media screen{.mw-parser-output .cs1-format{font-size:95%}html.skin-theme-clientpref-night .mw-parser-output .cs1-maint{color:#18911f}}@media screen and (prefers-color-scheme:dark){html.skin-theme-clientpref-os .mw-parser-output .cs1-maint{color:#18911f}}“Botany Road”. yoursay.transport.nsw.gov.au.
