Want to help fight inflation? Demand that Congress passes a 5-year pause (or .25 multiplier) on COLA adjustments to social security. The insolvency date will reach out further as well. Imagine big retailers with every retiree picketing in front of grocery stores and gas stations.

I don't see US interest rate cut soon (start of year I did). The ongoing issue I have, even considering debt-to-GDP and relative GDP growth, is massive premium U.S. (and its consumers) pay vs. China, Japan, European and others. 130-300 BP higher.

Any takers on $IBM ??? -16% initial early PM reaction on preliminary disappointing numbers same day as major bank earnings. Stock was already -11% from early June highs. Perhaps the amazing story is that IBM consulting revenues held flat: Revenue of $17.2 billion, up 1% Software

$SMH -5.8% Looks bad, but market may have no clue how deep "chip collusion" will go nor what will turn up. But $SNDK -13% $MRVL -12% and $MU -7% seem small compared to their parabolic run ups. SK Hynix has had two days of 10% drops in last 2 weeks alone, not a common event.
