Storcube S1000 Pro Zero Export Solar: Fixing Smart Meter Mode Using Shelly Pro 3EM and Raspberry Pi Kindle Edition
The Problem
The Storcube S1000 Pro officially supports Smart Meter mode with the Shelly Pro 3EM. However, in real-world installations this setup often fails to work correctly.
Why?
Because the Storcube app allows you to select only a single phase. In a typical three-phase household, the device therefore never sees the actual total power consumption of the house. This can lead to:
- incorrect feed-in settings
- unnecessary grid consumption
- or even exporting power to the public grid when it shouldn't
This guide shows a simple and affordable solution to fix this limitation.
The Idea
With the help of a small Raspberry Pi, you can create a virtual smart meter called CubePI. CubePI reads the measurement data from the Shelly Pro 3EM, calculates the total household consumption across all phases, and provides this value to the Storcube exactly as if it came from a real smart meter.
Nothing is modified or manipulated.
CubePI simply delivers the correct data in the format the Storcube expects.
The result: near-perfect zero export control.
Setup time: about 30 minutes. No coding required.
