Vasquez-USA TODAY SportsThere has been a ton of debate going around about whether or not Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins will be the 2nd QB selected in this draft, or if he is about to experience a fall to the back half of the 1st round or even further. The rumors have been full swing on Haskins with him going anywhere from the Giants at 6 to the Raiders at 24 Charles Woodson Jersey , the question I pose to you is where would you consider it acceptable to draft a QB who likely wouldn’t see the field in the first season? Is there any point where you would be ok with the Raiders going after Haskins in this draft? The huge needs Oakland has all over the field makes drafting a QB a tough pill to swallow for many to see them spend a high pick when they already have Derek Carr. There is no doubt that they need many playmakers yet on both sides of the field, QB is not tops on the list of things the Raiders are in desperate need for. However, there is always a shopper when it comes to quarterbacks in the NFL and getting a good one is a premium that can pay dividends in many ways. Dwayne Haskins would be one hell of a back up plan to Derek Carr if he does struggle in 2019, and he could easily demand a premium in trade if Carr regains his franchise QB status. The one fact that we all agree on is that the NFL is a cold business, and if the team thinks they can improve they will do it no matter who they already have in place. If Jon Gruden is not completely sold on the future of the franchise under Carr then you better believe that he’d be willing to spend a high pick on someone he considered an upgrade. That brings us back to the rumors swirling around Dwayne Haskins’ possible fall in the draft. As good of a prospect as he appears to be, he only has one starting season under his belt and he is competing with a 3 ½ year starter in Drew Lock of Missouri to be the 2nd QB picked in 2019. To make matters worse for Haskins, he might not even be 3rd because of the sudden hype lifting Duke QB Daniel Jones into the 1st round conversation as well.ESPN’s Todd McShay touched on this topic on the morning show ‘Get Up’ the other day when he spoke about the possibility of other QB’s leap frogging Haskins due to his lack of experience. Though he does say that he ultimately sees Haskins going in the top 10, he sees the best fit with the Giants who could easily pass on taking a QB at 6 because they have another pick coming at 17th overall.“If any of these quarterbacks are going to fall a little bit, it might be Haskins,” Todd McShay said on ESPN’s ‘Get Up!’ “It will be interesting to see. I keep hearing the Giants may not be in love with Haskins. I put him there because it’s kind of the only place in the top 10 I felt good about putting him. I do think, ultimately, he’ll wind up going somewhere in that range. But it may be a team moving up. The Giants could just pass on him and wind up taking Drew Lock a little bit later with that 17th pick.”That isn’t the only NFL insider that believes that the 10-17 range is entirely possible for the Ohio State QB either, Adam Schefter also said he ultimately believes that will be the range that Haskins will be picked in as well. He spoke on the issue on Sirius XM radio, and he also said that some teams don’t even have a 1st round grade on Haskins going into this draft. This chatter hasn’t escaped the attention of Haskins, though he says he couldn’t care less about it. That’s actually a great attitude to take about the situation because if you can’t control it then why worry about it.“I couldn’t care less,” Haskins said on ESPN’s First Take. “I did well at the Combine, did well at meetings at the Combine. I threw the ball well at Pro Day and I did well at my visits and my meetings. I did what I had to do as far as this process. It’s just been a long time. I’m ready to go play football again. Draft is next week, so we’ll see what happens.”There is also the opposite opinion of Haskins’ draft stock with Trent Dilfer stating that he believes he is Tom Brady-ish in his intelligence and Bar Stool Sports put out this bold tweet on Haskins’ behalf. That brings us back to the Raiders who very well could decide to take a chance on Dwayne Haskins if the price was right for them. He is a tall QB with a quick release that could translate very well into Jon Gruden’s quick strike offense. Though Haskins wasn’t pressured often in Urban Meyer’s Ohio State offense, he did have phenomenal stats in his one year starting with him completing over 70% of his passes and throwing 50 touchdowns. If the Giants do pass on him for a different signal caller in this draft then the Raiders might be a great fit for him to sit for a season and learn from a QB guru coach in Gruden. It also could help motivate Derek Carr into a better season with him knowing without a doubt in that circumstance that he needs to step up or he would be being shipped out. What do you think Raider Nation? At what point do you think it’d be worth it to consider Dwayne Haskins in this draft or is it just too high of a pick to use on a player that likely wouldn’t contribute in his rookie season? There is a lot to like about Haskins, but is he worth a high pick in this draft for the Raiders?

Kibbles and Picks 2019 - Week 13

 Cache
Kibbles and Picks 2019 - Week 13

And look at that – I’m back on top!

Granted, it’s just one game, thanks to my 10-4 week. Stella did just fine at 9-5, but it wasn’t quite enough. And so I’ve regained my lead. Again – good weeks for both of us … just slightly better for me.

That could all change pretty quickly here in Week 13. Stella and I are at odds on eight games – fully half of the full 16-game slate. That’s a lot of room for one of us to make a move, although with the even number, we could just as easily wind up with another push.

We’ll start on Thanksgiving, where Stella and I disagree on two of the three contests.

First up is the game in Detroit, where I have the Lions holding serve at home against the Bears. While I don’t necessarily love the Lions offense, I feel like they’re due for a good win on Turkey Day. Plus, the Bears haven’t looked like world-beaters over the last few weeks. Stella thinks my hunch is nonsense; she doesn’t have any real affection for the Bears, but she’s pretty sure that Chicago will be able to take down the Lions with little issue. We agree, however, that this will be a bad game.

In an even more hunchy pick, I’m taking Buffalo to win in Dallas against the Cowboys. The Bills defense has had some hiccups in the last few weeks, but they still have something to offer. And I’m thinking that Buffalo QB Josh Allen will be able to handle his business; the Cowboys have struggled with some injury issues. Stella likes the Cowboys here; she thinks that Dak Prescott is the best player on either team and that he will have little problem against even this strong Bills defense. And don’t sleep on Zeke Elliott, either.

Next, in maybe the most brazen pick of this year’s entire Kibbles and Picks season thus far, Stella is picking the Bengals to win their first game of the year. I went with the Jets, even though the Jets are not very good, because they’re riding high after their big win over Oakland and QB Sam Darnold looks like he might be figuring some stuff out. Stella refuses to back down from this pick; she feels that the Bengals are not going to go 0-16 and that this is perhaps their best shot at the W. With rumors swirling that Andy Dalton is returning to his place under center, she’s ready to roll the dice.

In a game with potential playoff implications, I’m going with the Colts to win at home against the Titans. I know that Indy is dealing with some major injuries – the hand issue for running back Marlon Mack foremost among them – but I still like them to hang in there and score enough to eke out a narrow win. Stella likes Tennessee here; she doesn’t think that Ryan Tannehill is actually as good as he’s been in the last month, but she thinks he’ll keep it going long enough to beat the Colts. She also expects Derrick Henry to continue his excellent stretch running the ball. Those elements combined mean that the Titans should win fairly easily.

We’re at odds on the rematch between the Browns and the Steelers. I’m going with the Steelers to win at home. Yes, the quarterback situation is still a mess and they’re on their third-string running back, but the Pittsburgh D is solid and Cleveland isn’t ready to bounce back from the controversy. Stella thinks that the absence of Myles Garrett will be a nonissue. She’s expecting good things from Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham and the double-decker backfield threat of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Either way, expect fireworks – and not the great kind.

There’s always at least one inconsequential game on these lists – this time, we’re looking at Tampa Bay/Jacksonville. I’m going with the Jaguars at home, Stella’s going with the Buccaneers on the road. Mine’s the safe pick, hers is the exciting one. Neither of us really care all that much.

I’ve got the Rams winning in Arizona against the Cardinals. Obviously, the Rams haven’t looked great over the past month or so. Jared Goff has struggled under center, as has the rest of the offense. The defense has had its glitches as well. That being said, I have to think that they’ll turn it around – and Arizona is a great place to do that. Stella disagrees; she’s counting on a big game out of QB Kyler Murray. She doesn’t think that L.A. can stop him. She’s warier of the Arizona running game, but she still likes their chances.

Finally, in the Monday night game, I’m going with the Vikings to win on the road against Seattle. It’ll be interesting to see how Kirk Cousins leads the Minnesota offense against the Seahawks. They’ve got some strong weapons, led by running back Dalvin Cook, and a surprisingly solid defense to boot. It won’t be easy, but it should be enough. Stella likes Seattle to take the win at home; she loves Russell Wilson against this Vikings team. Her main concern regarding the Seahawks offense involves Chris Carson holding onto the ball. As long as they avoid turnovers, they’ll be fine – and she thinks they’ll avoid them just fine.

And there we have it. Eight games. We’ll have to wait and see if my newly-achieved one-game lead will hold up or if Stella will retake command. If she wants to make a move, she needs to do it soon. As you might imagine, she remains unconcerned.

A Decade of Care: Hanes Launches 10th National Sock Drive to Help the Homeless; Tops 3 Million Donated Pairs

 Cache

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., November 22, 2019 /3BL Media/ – Small gifts often have the most meaning.

For the millions of people living homeless, a clean pair of socks is often described as “the gift of humanity.” Hanes, America’s No. 1 basic apparel, underwear and sock brand, is partnering with organizations fighting homelessness nationwide to deliver comfort to those who need it most through the Hanes National Sock Drive. The brand is marking 10 years of helping provide care and compassion during this year’s drive by:

  • Donating more than 250,000 pairs of socks directly to organizations fighting homelessness in all 50 states, along with Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Since the program’s inception in 2009, Hanes has provided more than 3 million pairs of socks – one of the most requested items by relief agencies – to help the homeless.

  • Giving an additional pair of socks for every order of any apparel placed in December on Hanes.com. Socks will be provided to local homeless shelters.

  • Partnering with Rainier Fruit Company for its second “Pears for Pairs” campaign, which is currently running in United Supermarkets, Harris Teeter, Wegmans, and Lunds & Byerlys stores. From late September through January, Rainier is donating a portion of the proceeds from bulk and bagged pear sales to the Hanes National Sock Drive. In 2018, the Pears for Pairs campaign resulted in 20,000 pairs of socks being donated to five nonprofits.

  • Offering consumers the opportunity to participate directly in the program by visiting www.hanes.com/donate to gift socks ($1), women’s underwear ($1), men’s underwear ($1.50) and bras ($6) that will be distributed in needed styles and sizes.

  • Continuing its 10-year collaboration with Invisible People and its founder, Mark Horvath, to help raise awareness about homelessness. Invisible People uses innovative storytelling, educational resources and advocacy to help change how the public views homelessness and those living homeless in the United States and abroad.

“Most of us take basic apparel for granted, but we know a new, clean pair of socks can mean a lot to those experiencing homelessness,” said Sidney Falken, chief branding officer, HanesBrands. “We are committed to bringing a little comfort to those who need it most – and it is incredibly gratifying to have others, including many individuals across the country, join us in this effort.”

More than 100 agencies, including The Salvation Army Bell Shelter (Bell, California), Homeward Bound (Asheville, North Carolina) and Compassion Outreach Ministries (Columbus, Ohio), have received sock donations from Hanes.

“Small things really do make a big difference to our clients,” said Steve Lytle, director of The Salvation Army Bell Shelter. “The smile on a client’s face when she received a clean pair of socks for the first time in months was priceless. There was joy in her eyes and it was clear that the socks were the most precious gift she could have received in that moment. Another client said his gift of clean socks was a sign that there are people who care and that his life did matter.”

Homeward Bound distributes more than 2,000 pairs of socks a month to those living homeless.

“Homelessness is a community problem and it will take everyone’s support to help end the epidemic,” said Ashley Campbell, the agency’s outreach specialist. “Right now, some of your neighbors are living outside, in tents and under bridges, vulnerable to inclement weather and violence, stripped of dignity and our collective respect.

“There are so many ways to help,” Campbell continued. “Educate yourself about homelessness in your community, volunteer at your local agency fighting this issue or simply make a donation that would help a nonprofit save its limited resources.”

Jeffrey Tabor, director of TWO Men’s Ministry House for Compassion Outreach Ministries of Ohio, added that there is no donation too small to be used for good to fulfill a basic human need.

“Imagine the importance of just one pair of socks when you are focused on keeping your feet dry and warm during the cold winter months,” Tabor said. “That’s why we are so thankful for our partnership with Hanes, which has fulfilled an immediate, basic human need for so many people.”

Lytle underscores, however, that sometimes it all boils down to human contact. “Acknowledge people who are experiencing homelessness with a smile or hello,” he said. “By engaging with a person who is experiencing homelessness we are saying ‘I see you and you matter.’”

The Hanes National Sock Drive is part of Hanes for Good, the corporate responsibility program of Hanes’ parent company, HanesBrands (NYSE:HBI).

The House Intelligence Committee is moving forward with the impeachment inquiry. Members will reportedly begin reviewing a report on the panel's investigation into President Trump's alleged efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate his Democratic rivals Monday. They will reportedly have a 24-hour window to sift through the report before it goes to a vote Tuesday. The vote is mainly a formality and is expected to be split along party lines, which means it will likely be approved and then passed along to the House Judiciary Committee. The Judiciary Committee will then begin its own proceedings Wednesday. President Trump's counsel have been invited to attend and participate in the initial hearing, but there is no indication that will happen. [NBC News, Politico]

Nine passengers were killed after a single engine plane crashed near Chamberlain, South Dakota, on Saturday. Among those killed were the pilot and two children. Three passengers survived and were taken to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The plane was headed to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Chamberlain was reportedly in the midst of a winter storm at the time of the crash, though the National Transportation Safety Board is considering weather as just one possible factor in its investigation of the incident; no cause has been determined yet, and a preliminary investigation report is expected to be released within two weeks. The model of plane reportedly can carry no more than one pilot and 10 passengers. [The Associated Press, NPR]

3.

New Orleans Police said 11 people were shot early Sunday in the city's French Quarter, and two people are reportedly in critical condition. Initially, 10 people were taken to two different hospitals for treatment before another person walked into a hospital on their own. Police confirmed they were in the immediate area, just feet away from the shooting, since large crowds were gathered for the Bayou Classic football game between Southern and Grambling State. But the amount of people in the vicinity made it difficult to determine who fired the shots. One person was reportedly detained, but it isn't clear if the individual was involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. [ABC News, NBC News]

4.

Former Vice President Joe Biden launched an eight-day, 18-county bus tour in Iowa on Saturday, as he looks to make progress in the state before the Democratic presidential primary caucus in February. The tour, which has been named "No Malarkey," will reportedly allow Biden to meet face-to-face with Iowans, with a particular emphasis on the state's rural communities. Biden is aiming to appeal to people he meets by showing how his healthcare, agriculture, education, and climate change plans will benefit those communities, but he also reportedly wants to focus on their values, which he said were under attack from President Trump. [The Des Moines Register]

5.

Tens of thousands of pro-democracy, anti-government protesters returned to the streets Sunday in Hong Kong. The latest march was approved by authorities and began peacefully, but eventually ended with police clearing the demonstrators, dispersing crowds with tear gas. Some protesters reportedly veered off the sanctioned paths and and hurled insults at police, whom they have accused of brutality, while carrying vulgar signs. After the march, some masked protesters in the city's Whampoa district damaged traffic lights, blocked roads, and vandalized shops and restaurants believed to have links to mainland China, prompting riot police to arrive at the scene. At least three people were were arrested in the area. [The South China Morning Post, The Washington Post]

6.

A shootout Saturday in the town of Villa Union, a small town near the U.S. border, resulted in the deaths of 10 suspected cartel gunmen and four police officers. Six other police officers were reportedly injured. The governor of the northern state of Coahuila, Miguel Angel Riquelme, said the state acted "decisively" in response to the presence of the cartel members. The heavy fighting reportedly began around noon and lasted for more than an hour. Riquelme said authorities identified 14 vehicles involved in the attack and seized more than a dozen guns. The fighting took place following President Trump's announcement that he was preparing to designate the cartels as terrorist groups, which didn't sit well with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who hopes to avoid direct foreign intervention in Mexico. [The New York Times, Al Jazeera]

7.

Black Friday shoppers reportedly spent $7.4 billion online, making Friday the second-largest online shopping day ever, trailing only last year's Cyber Monday event. Online sales rose by 19.6 percent from last year. Meanwhile, brick-and-mortar retail fell by 6.2 percent compared to last year, signaling a growing preference for online purchasing. The decline, though, may also be related to growing store traffic on Thursday evening, which increased by 2.3 percent. "There is no longer one way to shop on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday," said Brian Field, senior director of global retail consulting for ShopperTrak. Estimates for Cyber Monday are as high as $9.4 billion. [CNBC, Reuters]

8.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is leading a Democrat-only congressional delegation consisting of 13 House members and one senator to Madrid's COP25 summit. "One of the goals we have is to make sure that all of those who are in the Paris Accord know that the Democratic majority in the Congress of the American people are very concerned about the climate issue, understand that we have to set goals and have a plan on how to achieve them, and to talk about some of the things that we have done," Pelosi told Bloomberg Environment before departing for Spain. The Democrats attending reportedly range from members of Congress who support the Green New Deal to those who want to approach Washington's environmental policy more cautiously in the hopes of hammering out legislation alongside Republicans. [Bloomberg, CBS News]

9.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio denied accusations made by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro that he was funding arson in the Amazon. Earlier this week, Bolsonaro alleged DiCaprio was donating money to non-governmental organizations that he alleges contributed to the forest fires that ravaged the rainforest earlier this year. In an Instagram post Saturday, DiCaprio denied Bolsonaro's claims and stated his support for Brazilian groups working to protect the Amazon, but he said he did not fund the groups targeted by the president. Additionally, two major environmental groups protecting the Amazon criticized Bolsonaro's accusations, calling them an attempt to "undermine environmental defenders and distract the general public from policies that directly lead to environmental disasters." [CNN, The Daily Beast]

Free-agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor reportedly was in critical condition following surgery after he was stabbed in the chest and shoulder at his apartment in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening, but he is expected to make a full recovery. An unidentified woman faces an attempted homicide charge, and Pryor also reportedly faces an unknown charge. Pittsburgh Police said they are investigating the incident. A male stabbing victim reportedly walked into the hospital at 4:30 a.m. E.T. on Saturday. Police didn't identify the man, but a source confirmed to ESPN that it was Pryor. The 30-year-old Ohio State alum began his NFL career in 2011 and suited up for the Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets through 2018. One of the most compelling (and for the teams most maddening) realities of the NFL is that most games are close games Youth Donald Trump Jerseys , with the potential outcomes going either way. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers recently illustrated that point in relation to his team’s 2018 season.“We could have won them all,” Rivers told Nick Hardwick and Jon Schaeffer of XTRA 1360 in San Diego. “Like we could have gone undefeated. We could have. And we also could have gone 6-10.”The Chargers went 12-4, and three of the losses came by 10 or more points. But they could have indeed won each of those three games — vs. Chiefs, at Rams, and vs. Ravens. The challenge for the Chargers in 2019 will be to forget about 12-4 and, more importantly, to forget about the way the season fell apart in the divisional round and to focus on winning one game at a time. All too often, teams that managed to string together a bunch of wins one year can’t duplicate it the next year, because they allow themselves to think based on a great record that it came easier than it did.It never comes easy. Which makes what the Patriots continue to do even more impressive. They’ve found a way to expunge the outcome of the prior season from their brains, and to focus obsessively on what’s next. If the Chargers can do that in 2019, they may get another crack at the Pats in January. A look at the teams selecting Friday night and where the Patriots fit in."The NFL Draft resumes tonight at 7 PM, and the Arizona Cardinals will be on the clock first at pick 33. Typically Friday is the more exciting day, especially for Patriots fans, because there is a lot of movement between teams.Last night, 5 picks in rounds 2 and 3 changed hands. The picks were: Other than that Donald Trump Jerseys Stitched , the draft order hasn’t changed since yesterday. Of course, there are rumors that Josh Rosen may be on the move at some point today, so that could certainly change, but, for now, the board looks mostly the same as it did yesterday. The Patriots have the most picks (five) tonight, with the Colts and Rams both having four. The Colts, however, have three picks in the second round, while the Rams have three in the third. As you probably know, the Patriots have two in the second and three in the third. Some teams that may be even more likely to trade picks are the Texans, Chiefs, and Eagles. That’s because they have picks bunched close together. The Texans have back to back picks at 54 and 55.Unless they love 2 guys there, it would be a great opportunity to get the guy they want and still trade down and get more picks. The Eagles are in a similar situation with picks 53 and 57, and the Chiefs hold nearly back to back picks at 61 and 63. All of those teams could be focused on one player in the spot they’re in and Youth Stephen Gostkowski Jerseys , while getting him, also trade back and pick up more assets. As far as the Patriots are concerned, the wait won’t be quite as long for them tonight, as they are picking 24th tonight, at pick 56. Then they’ll have a pick just eight picks later at 64, and nine picks after that at 73. Having picks relatively close together may allow them to trade back, or, possibly, trade a pick or two for a veteran who can make an immediate impact. Look for the Patriots to make some noise at the end of the second and top of the third. After 73, they have to wait until 97, but they again have picks very close together, because they will be on the clock again at 101.Having the number of picks they do, and the relatively small gap between most of their picks gives the Patriots a ton of options tonight. Last year, the Patriots dealt one of their 3rd rounders for Trent Brown. Will we see the same type of move this year? Will the Patriots trade up for a player they covet early in the second? Or, will the Patriots do what they did last year Stephen Gostkowski Jerseys Stitched , and use those picks to get some extra draft capital for next season?I think it could be a little of everything. With five picks, they can draft a few players, pick up a veteran, or maybe second year player (come to me, Josh Rosen), or even make a trade for a higher pick next year. I’m hoping for some fireworks, which we always assume that we won’t get, but, then again, we’ve always said we wouldn’t see the flashy first round WR, and that already happened, so maybe Bill has some more surprises for us this year.Full 2nd and 3rd Round OrderRound 2 33. Ole Miss Football: 8 Coaching Candidates to Replace Matt Luke

 Cache

Matt Luke was fired as the head coach at Ole Miss on Sunday night. The Rebels went 15-21 under Luke’s watch and never played in a bowl during his three-year run in Oxford. While Ole Miss finished 4-8 this fall, there was optimism for 2020 with a young roster set to return next season.

Who could replace Luke at Ole Miss? Here are eight names to watch in the coaching search:

8 Coaching Candidates to Replace Matt Luke at Ole Miss

Bill Clark, Head Coach, UAB

Clark’s name has popped up for openings at Arkansas and Missouri, so it’s likely he will be mentioned as a candidate for this job as well. He’s guided UAB to a 34-17 record over the last four years and claimed back-to-back Conference USA West Division titles. The Blazers won Conference USA’s 2018 title after returning to the gridiron after the program was disbanded from 2015-16. The Alabama native had spent his entire coaching career in the state of Alabama at the high school level or as South Alabama’s defensive coordinator (2008-12) before taking the head-coaching job at Jacksonville State in 2013. The Gamecocks went 11-4 and earned a trip to the FCS playoffs in Clark’s only year at the helm.

Eliah Drinkwitz, Head Coach, Appalachian State

Drinkwitz is a coach on the rise in his first year at the helm of Appalachian State. The Mountaineers are 11-1 and have defeated two Power 5 teams this season. Appalachian State will play for the Sun Belt title and a finish in the top 25 on Saturday against Louisiana. The Oklahoma native worked as an assistant at Arkansas State (2012-13) before landing on Boise State’s staff in 2014. He assumed the play-caller role for the Broncos in 2015 and left for NC State to take on the same responsibility in 2016-18.

Tony Elliott, Co-Offensive Coordinator, Clemson

Elliott has been a crucial piece of Clemson’s offensive success over the last few seasons, as he replaced Chad Morris as the team’s play-caller after he left for a head-coaching role. Elliott has worked with the Tigers in some capacity since 2011 and the last five as the co-offensive coordinator with Jeff Scott. Elliott has no experience as a head coach but is regarded as an excellent recruiter.

Willie Fritz, Head Coach, Tulane

Fritz has been mentioned as a potential candidate at Arkansas and Missouri this offseason, and that’s no surprise considering Fritz has been a winner at every stop during his coaching career. Fritz went 97-47 at Central Missouri from 1997-09, finished 40-15 at Sam Houston State from 2010-13 and 17-7 at Georgia Southern from 2014-15. Tulane is a tough job, but Fritz has brought steady improvement to the program. The Green Wave went 9-15 in Fritz’s first two years but are 13-12 over the last two seasons.

Lane Kiffin, Head Coach, FAU

Kiffin has guided FAU to two Conference USA East Division titles over his three seasons as the program’s head coach. His overall record with the Owls is 25-13 and a win in the title game or bowl would give FAU two seasons of double-digit wins under Kiffin’s direction. It’s no secret Kiffin didn’t work out at USC after a 28-15 mark over four years. However, he finished 7-6 at Tennessee in 2009 and has an overall mark of 60-34 as a head coach.

Mike Leach, Head Coach, Washington State

Leach has been mentioned as a potential candidate at Missouri and Arkansas this offseason, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see his name pop up in Oxford. It’s no secret Leach is one of college football’s top minds on offense and has a track record of success from stints at Texas Tech and Washington State. He went 84-43 at Texas Tech from 2000-09 and is 55-46 with the Cougars since 2012. Under Leach's watch, Washington State has won at least eight games in four out of the last five years.

Billy Napier, Head Coach, Louisiana

Napier is a coach on the rise since taking over at Louisiana in 2018. He’s 17-9 over the last two years and has guided the Ragin' Cajuns to back-to-back Sun Belt West Division titles. Louisiana’s 10-win season in 2019 was the first time the program eclipsed double-digit victories in a single year. Napier previously as an assistant at Clemson (under Dabo Swinney), Alabama (under Nick Saban), Arizona State, and Colorado State. Napier also has a strong background on offense and has been an effective recruiter at Louisiana.

Mike Norvell, Head Coach, Memphis

Norvell is going to be a hot commodity this coaching cycle, as his name has already popped up at Florida State, Arkansas and Missouri. Norvell is 37-15 over four years with the Tigers and has guided the program to three consecutive AAC West Division titles. Memphis is one win away from a trip to a New Year’s Six bowl this fall.

The Hanes National Sock Drive is part of Hanes for Good, the corporate responsibility program of Hanes’ parent company, HanesBrands (NYSE:HBI).

under contract an absolute right to hold out Youth Telvin Smith Jerseys , as long as they are willing to risk owing fines in the amount of $40,000 per day (for most players). The CBA includes another important wrinkle for players who have not yet qualified for free agency. If a player under contract fails to report within 30 days before the start of the regular season, the player forfeits a year of service toward free agency. For the four pending holdouts who are under contract (Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is holding out as a franchise-tagged player, but he is unsigned), two already have four years of service — Washington tackle Trent Williams and Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. August 6 has no relevance to them.August 6 has significant relevance to the other two under-contract holdouts. For Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, who is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, failure to show up by August 6 means that he would be a restricted free agent at best in 2020, giving the Jaguars a much cheaper way to squat on him for a fifth season before starting the franchise-tag dance in 2021. The only question for the Jaguars come 2020 would be whether to risk losing him as a restricted free agent, since the maximum compensation is one first-round pick; they could still use the franchise tag on Ngakoue next year to keep that from happening. For Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, and as previously explained when talk first emerged more than two weeks ago of a potential holdout Telvin Smith Jerseys Stitched , the August 6 deadline means nothing because he’s got two years left under contract. If he doesn’t show up by August 6 this year (and if he doesn’t get a long-term deal), he can show up by 30 days before the 2020 opener and still get his fourth year of service toward free agency before his rookie deal expires.Or Elliott can ignore that wrinkle and focus on getting his contract, like Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald did in 2017 and 2018. Even now, Donald has only three years of credit toward free agency. Donald also has the long-term contract that he held out to get. There’s a widespread belief Zeke will cave by August 6 to get that year of credit toward free agency. If it happens, it would be a surprise. If his goal is to get paid before he embarks on a fourth season of getting hit early and often by large, strong defensive players, whether he gets a fourth year of credit toward free agency simply shouldn’t matter. The "dead zone" period in the NFL comes to a merciful end this week for Jaguar fans, as the unofficial start to football season begins on the morning of July 25th with the men of black and teal..." NFL training camp5 biggest questions as Jaguars training camp beginsNew,56commentsEDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:5 biggest questions as Jaguars training camp beginsTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by David Rosenblum/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesThe “dead zone” period in the NFL comes to a merciful end this week for Jaguar fans, as the unofficial start to football season begins on the morning of July 25th with the men of black and teal taking the field to begin the annual late-summer grind that is training camp Ryquell Armstead Jersey Color Rush , that will inevitably produce what will be the 2019 edition of the Jacksonville Jaguars. After a winter that saw somewhat of a roster overhaul at some key positions, none bigger than at quarterback, and a spring that saw the team make national headlines thanks to off the field issues and contract statuses for key players, all the attention now turns solely to the on the field product and the team’s ability under new quarterback Nick Foles to return to the promise that was spurned by the 2017 season. Most teams enter training camp needing to iron out the last couple of wrinkles before kicking off the regular season, but for the Jaguars this camp has the feel of a franchise needing to sew up quite a few loose ends before meeting the Kansas City Chiefs at TIAA Bank field on September 8th. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the five biggest issues facing the team as they open camp this week.1. Will Nick Foles’ productive spring carry over into camp and the preseason? While the headlines over the past couple of months pertaining to the Jaguars have all stemmed from the business side of things, lost among all the contract talk was the spring practice productivity of Foles and the seemingly instant leadership he has brought to a team in desperate need of direction. Though media was limited in what they were able to report during OTAs and the team’s mini-camp sessions, by all accounts the team’s signing of the former Super Bowl MVP to a monster contract in March looked to already be paying off dividends for an offense that was as watchable in 2018 as the new trailer for “Cats”. If Foles can continue to show the consistency that displayed in May and June over the course of the next five weeks, particularly in the down field passing game, the optimism most Jaguars fans had at the start of 2018 will return at a fever pitch. Foles’ history with injury and the team’s lack of a known entity at the back up quarterback spot will make for an interesting preseason story line in terms of how many snaps Doug Marrone and John Defillipo want to give their $88 million dollar investment Cheap Ryquell Armstead Jersey , particularly with him dropping back behind what will be a work in progress offensive line. 2. What does Yannick Ngakoue’s future in Jacksonville look like?Undoubtedly, the most pressing issue facing the franchise heading into camp is the contract status of the ultra-productive defensive end. While it would seem hard to believe that Ngakoue and the team won’t find a resolution to get a guy under a new contract who has given you close to 30 sacks over the last three seasons and is just entering his prime, until there is pen to paper the cloud will continue to hang over the organization this summer. As the saying goes, deadlines spur deals, and it would be a shock if a long-term deal isn’t ironed out perhaps as early as the eve of camp starting. Until then we await to see if the sides can indeed come to an agreement, and what Ngakoue’s participation in camp looks like if they don’t prior to Thursday. For a team that is hanging much of their hopes on it’s defense returning to 2017 form, not having your most explosive front seven player from that season out there to get the quarterback, seems less than ideal.3. How soon will the offensive tackles be ready to go?As mentioned, Foles and the offense showed promising signs over the spring practices, but that was without any fear of contact from the guys on the other side of the ball coming the quarterback’s way. Now the real bullets start to fly Ryquell Armstead Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , and the need for the Jaguars to cement their starting offensive line and avoid the atrocity that befell them last season is at a head. Left tackle Cam Robinson is still penned in as the opening day starter, but he didn’t see the field at all in OTAs or mini-camp as he works back from a torn ACL, and coach Doug Marrone has already stated Robinson will be a slow progression back into full speed work when camp opens. On the opposite side, the battle between rookie Jawaan Taylor and free agent Cedric Ogbuehi will be one of the better competitions to keep an eye on as camp and the preseason move along. The team is quietly rooting for Taylor to win the camp battle and entrench himself at the right tackle spot by the end of the preseason, but Ogbuehi did run the first team much of spring and drew high praise from the coaching staff. Taylor losing the position to a guy who was widely considered a first-round bust and brought in with the idea of being a depth guy at best, however, would be concerning. It seems likely the team will bring Robinson along much in the way they did with Kelvin Beachum in 2016 in a similar situation, where we don’t see him take the field until the final “dress rehearsal” for the starters in Week 3 of the preseason. This likely leaves Josh Wells as the starting left tackle until further notice. God help Nick Foles.4. Who is the starting weak side linebacker on opening day?Telvin Smith’s abrupt departure from the team in May left a gaping hole at the weak side (WILL) linebacker spot, and it will take the summer for the team to see who can possibly attempt to fill the shoes of a former Pro Bowler whose been the NFL’s leading tackler over the last three seasons. Despite a down season last year, Smith’s talent and productivity is something that the team will be hard pressed to replace and the options currently on the roster don’t jump out as instant fixes by any stretch. The Jaguars appear to be OK with third-round pick Quincy Williams starting much sooner than they anticipated Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys Stitched , and he did flash at times in spring practices, but expecting Smith-like production out of a rookie making the jump from Murray State to the NFL is a huge and perhaps reckless risk. Myles Jack has no plans on moving from the middle linebacker position, leaving the only other viable options currently on the roster being veterans Najee Goode or Ramik Wilson. It would not surprise me if the Jaguars are scouring the waiver wire after cuts are made or seeking out a trade partner to acquire a veteran if Williams proves to be in above his head.5. Can Jarrod Wilson be an adequate replacement for Tashaun Gipson? The Jaguars biggest shuffle on the defensive side of the ball this offseason was the essential passing of the torch at free safety from Tashaun Gipson to Jarrod Wilson. Gipson was a part of the mass cap slashing moves the team made in early March in anticipation of giving Foles his large contract, and though there were rumors of his role as less of a locker room leader than the team would’ve liked and more of a distraction at times, his play on the field was everything the team could’ve asked for when they signed him as a free agent from Cleveland as he played consistently at a Pro Bowl level in his time with the Jaguars. Wilson has appeared in 47 games since making the team as an undrafted free agent, and the Jaguars signed him to three year extension in February after being a productive special teams player and fill-in when needed at safety. Now he’s been given the role as the “quarterback” of a secondary that at times last season seemed to lack discipline in their assignments. With a bevy of known entities surprisingly still available on the free agent market, Wilson will have to quickly answer the question as to whether or not he’s ready to take over such a massive responsibility this August, before the Jaguars are forced seek help off the street.

Berkadia Arranges $21.5 Million Acquisition Loan for 332-Unit Multifamily Community Located in Jacksonville, Florida

 Cache
CORAL GABLES, FL - Jacksonville, FL - Berkadia announces it has arranged $21.5 million in acquisition financing for Charter Landing Apartments, a 332-unit multifamily community in Jacksonville, Florida. Senior Director Brad Williamson of Berkadia s Miami office secured the loan on behalf of Savlan Capital, a real estate investment firm based in Hollywood, Florida that purchased the property for $28 million. The firm plans to invest $4.3 million in capital improvements throughout the asset. Charter Landing was 90 percent occupied at the time of purchase. A regional bank originated the five-year, non-recourse 3.75 percent fixed-rate loan with two years interest only and a 65 percent loan to cost. The $21.5 million loan includes $17.21 million in initial funding. The property demonstrated significant potential as a value-add investment in one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation and the largest in Florida, said Williamson. Lynd Acquisitions Group Buys Iconic Multifamily Tower in Virginia Beach for $43 Million

 Cache
SAN ANTONIO, TX - Lynd Acquisitions Group (LAG), a Texas-based real estate investment vehicle, has acquired an iconic apartment community in Virginia Beach, Virginia for $43 million with plans to spend millions more on value-add improvements. The 16-story, 266-unit Mayflower Apartments at 34th Street and Atlantic Avenue is a highly coveted address as it is the only high-rise rental building within a block of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a crown jewel in Virginia Beach; there is nothing else like it, said A. David Lynd, CEO of LAG and LYND, a privately held apartment management company based in San Antonio. With the Mayflower, we see a tremendous opportunity to execute our current strategy of identifying unique properties that are undervalued and craft tailored plans to unlock the value in both rents and occupancies. Lynd and his co-investors plan on spending $4.6 million-plus on capital improvements to both common areas and individual units. They will invest more than $13,000 per unit to renovate interiors from top to bottom with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, hardwood floors and upgraded fixtures. LYND Management has been retained to oversee the renovations and manage the building. The property has 3,140 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, a separate parcel with 11,915 square feet of free-standing retail and on-site and off-site parking. Upgrades to the common areas include the addition of Amazon package lockers, surfboard lockers and an enhanced fitness center. Built in 1950, the last renovations to the building were completed in 2010. The Mayflower has studio, one and two-bedroom units, and a penthouse floor with commanding views of the coastline. Since the Mayflower is the only rental property of its kind right near the beach, we believe renters will want a well-located and nicer place to call home, Lynd said. LYND has renovated more than 1,600 apartment units in the last two-and-a-half years with a combined budget of $23 million. This is a very strategic asset for LYND as the company has the experience and expertise to bring this asset up to contemporary standards, said Henry Stimler, managing director of Newmark Knight Frank in New York. Its platform to execute on value-add real estate is second to none in the market today. Stimler arranged a $33 million acquisition loan for LAG from Hunt Real Estate Capital which was represented by Marc Suarez in Hunt s Miami office. Mike Marshall of Newmark represented the seller, Harbor Group International, a Norfolk, Virginia-based real estate investment and management firm with assets valued at $9.7 billion. Since 2017, LYND has acquired 4,665 multifamily units throughout Texas, Florida and Illinois valued at nearly $300 million and performed more than $23 million worth of value-add rehabilitation work. Recent investments include a 444-unit garden-style apartment community in Jacksonville, 1,031 apartments in the Florida Panhandle and a 384-bed student housing community in Beaumont, Texas. About LYND: Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, Lynd is a privately-held, national real estate company that specializes in third-party management of multifamily real estate assets. Managing approximately 23,000 apartment units in 11 states, Lynd ranks as one of the premiere multifamily management companies in the country. For more information, visit www.lynd.com

Event Update For 2019-11-27

 Cache

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.

Quote: "Around 1 a.m. (2 a.m. ET), an explosion at the TPC Group plant caused extensive damage across the small city of Port Neches, leaving at least three employees injured, authorities said. During a press conference, they said a series of smaller explosions occurred throughout the day and then a larger one in the afternoon launched a tower into the air with balls of fire. A mandatory evacuation has been issued for areas within a 4-mile radius of plant because of the potential for more explosions."

Quote: "Two explosions at a chemical plant in Texas put 60,000 people under evacuation orders Wednesday. The first blast, which blew out the windows and doors of nearby homes, injured three workers. The first explosion occurred just after 1 a.m. Wednesday. Officials said the blast could be felt up to 30 miles away, and that by sunrise, toxic plumes could be seen for miles."

11-28. Winston dirige el triunfo de los Buccaneers

 Cache

This Is Your Body On A Hangover

 Cache

There’s no denying it: Waking up with a hangover can be awful. The intense headache coupled with random waves of nausea is usually enough to make you consider giving up drinking forever (or at least until next weekend).

But there’s more to it than just feeling like crap. Your body and brain are working overtime to help you recover from those beverages.

Curious what’s actually happening internally the day after drinking? Below, experts break it down.

Your body is working to flush out toxins.

According to Kate Denniston, a licensed naturopathic doctor based in Los Angeles and the founder of Los Angeles Integrative Health, the cause of a hangover is not actually the alcohol itself. Rather, it’s the byproducts of the alcohol metabolizing that cause hangover symptoms, she said.

As your body breaks down your favorite cocktails, it creates a toxin called acetaldehyde. Your body works hard to flush out that toxin ― which is also a carcinogen, by the way ― leading to some pretty painful symptoms.

Your kidneys and liver are forced to do some major work.

In an attempt to remove acetaldehyde from the body, your kidneys will really kick into gear. This leads to increased urination, which can quickly lead to dehydration and extreme thirst, even head pain and dizziness.

In other words, “a hangover is essentially the signs and symptoms of dehydration and [a result] of the body trying to rid itself of a toxin — a process which challenges the liver and kidneys,” said Ralph E. Holsworth, a board-certified osteopathic physician at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, Colorado.

Your stomach lining is all kinds of irritated.

You can thank this for all that post-drinking nausea and, er, excess bathroom trips.

“Alcohol also irritates the stomach lining and slows the stomach from emptying, which causes nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps,” said Lantie Jorandby, chief medical officer of Lakeview Health, a dual diagnosis and addiction treatment center in Jacksonville, Florida.

You may experience anxiety.

Studies have shown that alcohol can lead to increased anxiety in some people. One study published in 2012 found that 7.4% of those experiencing a hangover had anxiety as a post-drinking symptom. Other research suggests heavy drinking “lowers mood, disrupts sleep, increases anxiety” and produces “physical” and “emotional” symptoms the morning after. Finally, a study published in 2015 found many social drinkers may feel emotions like shame, guilt and embarrassment following a drinking period.

You have inflammation.

Jorandby said alcohol can trigger inflammation in the body, which can also lead to those symptoms like headaches. Anti-inflammatories can offer some help with this, but you should be mindful of which ones. Avoid acetaminophen, AKA Tylenol.

“Tylenol is already toxic to the liver at certain doses, and if you add this to residual alcohol in the body it can be dangerous,” Jorandby said.

As you get older, your body takes longer to process all this because of fewer available resources.

We may age like a fine wine in all ways but hangovers.

As we get older, our bodies are less prepared to deal with drunken shenanigans, which leaves us having a harder time dealing with hangovers starting in our late 20s. While the reason for this isn’t completely understood, some believe it has to do with the speed in which our bodies are able to process the things we consume.

“Hangovers get worse as we age because every time we drink, we deplete vital resources on our body that help break down and process alcohol,” said Christopher Roselle, a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate and cellular expert at the University of Pennsylvania, who is studying cancer immunology.

“Basically, every time we drink we use ammo to defend against the toxins created by alcohol, and over time, we have less and less ammo,” Roselle said. “Therefore, as we age, our defenses are weakened and our bodies become less and less capable of defending against hangovers.”

In this case, the ammo being referred to would be antioxidants, enzymes and amino acids found in your liver, which are necessary for metabolizing alcohol.

“As we age, we secrete lower concentrations of liver enzymes, which draws out the process and lengthens the duration of the hangover,” added Leigh Renwick, a registered dietician at Copeman Healthcare Centre in Vancouver.

How To Ease The Hangover Pain

If you’re dealing with the pain of a hangover, there are a few ways to curb it and some tips to keep in mind for the future. Follow this helpful wisdom:

First, watch what you drink.

The obvious answer here is to be mindful of how much alcohol you consume in the future. Social drinking can turn into binge drinking way quicker than most realize. The best way to prevent a hangover is to keep tabs on how much alcohol you consume. (And if you can’t control it, there are resources that can help. It’s OK to reach out for treatment or assistance ― you deserve to live a happy, healthy life.)

Stick to certain types of alcohol when you do drink.

“Avoid darker-colored alcoholic drinks, including whiskey and red wines. Lighter drinks such as gin and vodka have fewer [alcohol components like] congeners or methanol metabolites, which tend to exacerbate hangover symptoms,” Jorandby said.

You should also consider “avoiding sugary drinks or cocktails, which may cause rebound low blood sugars and irritate the stomach, leading to a worse hangover,” Renwick added.

Chug H2O, maybe even more than you think you need.

Since dehydration plays such a major role here, most experts will agree that the best way to reduce the likelihood of a hangover is to drink water in order to stay hydrated and dilute the level of alcohol in your blood.

Marissa Meshulam, a New York-based registered dietitian nutritionist, recommended drinking water between drinks.

“Do yourself a favor and stay hydrated. Ever notice every bar gives you a glass of water with your drink? Take advantage and try to go one-to-one on alcohol and water. Your head will thank you later,” she said.

Don’t skip a meal.

Meshulam also suggested having a “balanced meal with protein, fat and high-fiber carbohydrates” before going out to drink.

Denniston recommended packing in nutrient-dense foods as well. “Try foods rich in flavonoids like berries, parsley, citrus and sweet potatoes,” she said.

Try a tiny bit of caffeine.

“Caffeine doesn’t cure a hangover, but will help you be more alert and help clear brain fog. Be careful not to over do caffeine as it can dehydrate you as well,” Jorandby said. (In other words, don’t use coffee to replace the water you should also be drinking.)

Stay far away from the hair of the dog.

Sorry, but that Bloody Mary isn’t your cure. It’s not going to make your symptoms better in the moment, and might fuel a more dangerous scenario in the long term.

“Don’t reach for more alcohol in order to get rid of the hangover,” Jorandby said. “It will become a vicious cycle ... and could lead to addiction.”
